How is everyone today? As the day goes on I'm feeling worse and worse, I'm so tired that I'm slightly losing it Sad

100yearsdotcom · 02/09/2017 16:43

I've not been able to find a pic online so will have to take a photo for you, will do it asap. They're very small cos it was for newborn obviously, but they're really good, and have a curved lip at one side. Dh has used them more than me and managed ok. I'm probably going to try DD with the sippy cup in the next day or so though as it'll be easier to deal with in the long run.

Name FlowersCake
I'm not too well but unfortunately neither is dh so am stuck with usual duties so am absolutely knackered. Hope you get a rest soon x

Carolann8584 · 02/09/2017 17:06

DD having another no sleep day. She had an hour this morning and is now 20 mins into a nap. I know I need to wake her soon. How long should I let her sleep? She's done really well with feeds today. She's had 22oz with 2 feeds to go

Carolann8584 · 02/09/2017 17:14

Nevermind she woke herself up Grin

NameChange30 · 02/09/2017 17:16

Dd slept for 3 hours this afternoon! Sat in garden with a prosecco and read the papers.

Baby rice is awesome!

Pureeing veg is still a pain in the arse.

Sorry some of you are having a bad day :(

purpleviolet1 · 02/09/2017 20:24

Thanks blondes and mother!

The millet went well - today was day 1! Grin long may it continue. Ds was sick twice today though - once before the millet and once after. Not sure what's going on with him. Increased his feeds yesterday to 6oz and he took 29 oz opposed to 22/23oz so could it be that he overfed? He used to have 30oz nutramigen quite easily though.

Abacha your such an inspiration. You are doing great!

Coupester - DH and I had a few rocky days where we avoided the elephant in the room (a row we had a few days ago) but had it all out last night and things feel better. Sometimes we just need to get it off our chest? I think having a baby definitely changed the dynamics and you don't have as much time for each other and you actually end up needing more patience which can be difficult to muster!

100years what a lovely big up to all of us! That's made me smile! Grin

First day that I sort of handed ds over to dh and did my
Own thing (cleaned the whole
Bloody house) still it felt nice to have a break from Ds and be able to get things done without constant interruption!

Hope you feel better 100.

Does anyone else start aching all over as they get to late afternoon? It's just the way tiredness manifests in me since my major op. Problem is when ds goes down I want to wind down for a bit and before I know it, it's 10/11pm. The Sleep lady gave me a different routine today before we have our next appt on Monday as we aren't sure why ds was doing so well initially with the sleep training and self settling but has been slowly getting worse and worse lately, worse than before we started 😒 multiple night aWakenings and taking longer to settle. Finding it really hard but just trying to think it won't be forever and even if we don't succeed with the sleep training then surely solids will help and as more time passes he is getting more uncomfortable on the milk. Been told it takes 6 weeks for the residue of the cows milk protein to leave the body and I'm amazed at how sensitive his little body is to it as he is still coming out in a fiery rash at times.

OP posts:
purpleviolet1 · 02/09/2017 20:33

Comfortable not uncomfortable! And he is taking
Longer to settle at each night aWakening but having less episodes than before we started. But least before he settled straight away usually when I put the dummy in. Hope I'm making sense... my brain feels fried and I've had a few moments feeling really stupid coz I know I'm misunderstanding the most basic of things Blush

Aw she is gorgeous! Don't feel bad blondes, not anyone's fault !

OP posts:
Carolann8584 · 02/09/2017 21:21

Awww she looks so cute. We changed ours a while ago just because DD didnt like her lay down attachment. She loves her seat now.

She's just woken for a 3oz feed. So she's up to 31oz for the day Grin wondering whether to still give her a df at 11:30 as usual. The rate she's going today she might wake up for that one as well

Blondeshavemorefun · 02/09/2017 21:26

Yes offer a df. Very unlikely she will sleep thro 12 hrs without one and she will def wake up where as , as she has had lots of milk daytime she may do 11/7

Once they stop waking 3:4:5 etc and sleep tho df till 7 then I start to cut it down /move forward to 10pm

Carolann8584 · 03/09/2017 07:24

DD didnt want her df. She woke when refusing it. Didn't take her long to go back to sleep. She's got a bit of a husky voice today. She woke twice during the night both times for her dummy and went back to sleep til 6:30 offered her a feed at 7 only had half as usual

NameChange30 · 03/09/2017 07:34

So we took away the Sleepyhead two nights ago and it's been a complete nightmare.

I chickened out of following Blondes's suggestion to put a rolled up towel under the sheet, because I'm paranoid that a towel isn't breathable in the same way the Sleepyhead cushion is.

So we went cold turkey. Not recommended!

DS woke up every 1-2 hours, both nights.

I AM DYING OF SLEEP DEPRIVATION and don't know what the fuck to do.

Can't buy the bigger Sleepyhead as it won't fit in his Snuzpod and we'd have to move him into the cotbed in his room, which I'm not quite ready to do yet and I'm worried we'll have just as many or more issues with that transition, too.

I don't think we can go back to the Sleepyhead as he was so squashed in it.

Sad Sad Sad

Carolann8584 · 03/09/2017 07:45

name sorry no adivce just Flowers we didn't have a sleepyhead. Had a cozy insert for the Moses but that went within weeks as DD didn't like it. I'm dreading the transition to her cot bed I imagine I will end "sleeping" on the nursery chair the first few nights

purpleviolet1 · 03/09/2017 07:57

Flowers name change sorry no advice .... are you using a gro bag instead now? I guess he needs to feel cosy as he is used to feeling snug.

We had a terrible night with the 'new routine'. Sad

OP posts:
NameChange30 · 03/09/2017 08:05

Thanks both, and sorry you had a bad night too purple Sad

Good point about the Gro bag, we haven't used them until now because he always seemed warm enough in just vest and sleepsuit - I think the Sleepyhead kept some heat in. But he did seem colder without it and kicked off his blanket as usual! So a Gro bag is probably a good idea, hopefully it will make him feel cosy and maybe even stop him kicking his legs quite so much - we can hope!

NameChange30 · 03/09/2017 08:06

purple
What's your new routine? I just read back but couldn't find it, or I've missed it in my sleep deprived state!

purpleviolet1 · 03/09/2017 08:07

Thanks name

I've never done it but some recommended gro bag and then using a thin cotton sheet over them, tucked in at both sides so that they don't wake themselves u by kicking.

NameChange30 · 03/09/2017 08:09

Stupid question alert (!) do people use Gro bags for naps as well as night time?

purpleviolet1 · 03/09/2017 08:15

Oh no worries, basically because he is waking up a few times during the night (and is taking a feed once) she said to give the dummy if he hasn't settled within 10 mins. But last night he was just whinging for the 10 mins, takin the dummy then playing with it, then popping out etc until he fell asleep but then he woke every sleep cycle as the dummy had popped out by then. I think he is maybe just missing the dummy when he was waking previous nights but as last night showed, giving him the dummy just makes it worse which is why we started the training in the first place! The sleep lady just said she wanted to give him the dummy again to try and work out why he was waking.

OP posts:
purpleviolet1 · 03/09/2017 08:21

She said to do this for two nights ahead of our appt on Monday so we can decide on next steps. I feel I'm
Going nuts trying to work him out and so glad there is someone telling me what to do
