That's amazing purple!

My dp accidentally bought a massive pack of the smaller size nappies and I cannot wait until they finish (not long ) . Dipstick.

Blondeshavemorefun · 04/09/2017 19:38

Try larger nappy or the 12hr nighty times and make sure when put on either nappy that you run finger round rim of nappy to pull out round legs

Hope that make sense

And what a cutie and loving the pink mattress sheet

I wanted pink mattress sheets and df said no. So compromised and brought white mattress and pink sheets 😂

Abacha · 04/09/2017 19:57

I use the 12hr pamper ones. Amazon had them on offer size 3 198 for 12.67. Blonde thanks for the tip of pulling the rim out, I always forget to do that.

Carolann8584 · 04/09/2017 19:57

My OH wasn't consulted when I bought them. I change and wash the bed sheets for the house so I can pick what I want. If he wants to take over he can have an opinion lol!!

DD had a slightly later bed time tonight 7 instead of 6:30-6:45 Just because I continued with the no rocking. She looked hugh in her Moses after looking so tiny in her cot, she wasn't happy, she was smacking the walls of the basket!

Babies are finally sleeping, I hope tonight is a better night. I'm beginning to collate a list on what to get for when we start solids in a couple of weeks. For those giving puree, do you use your normal one or a dedicated baby one. I'm also thinking of getting the ikea high chair, which ones do you have?

coupester · 04/09/2017 20:23

We're using size 3 nappies. We met a baby who is only a month older and he was on size 4+! I found that moving up to the size 3 from the 2 stopped the night wee leaks, but we've not had any poosplosions in the sleeping bags.

We've only been using the 1.5 tog ones. DS took ages to go to sleep tonight and when I went in to see him he was too hot so I've taken the sleeping bag off (he's only in a long sleeve babygro) and put a blanket on. I'll put him back in the sleeping bag after his 9pm feed. He does seem to be quite a warm baby.

MotherofA · 04/09/2017 20:31

Omg to the monster poops guys !!

DD is meant to be size 3 nappy , dp got 2 doh !

I have the Ikea high chair I love it ! I knew a long way back that a high chair was not something I wanted to spend money on and I personally don't like the padded ones as food gets all engrained in the grooves and stitching !
It's easy to clean and while she is smaller I put a small cushion behind DD back although she would be fine without .
I blend food in the mini blender as I'm not organised enough to do in advance . Started off on one veg , then veg combos , now I do whatever we have .
I try not to give too much fruit , her porridge in the morning is sweet and I'll often put fruit with that but don't want to encourage a sweet tooth .
I use Ella's Kitchen or Hipp meals for lunches or when out or not prepared. Also love the Nuby curved spoons they are amazing and much better than the usual flat weaning spoons . Munchkin beakers are great for water too .

MotherofA · 04/09/2017 20:32

Abacha also good luck for tonight!

Carolann8584 · 04/09/2017 20:37

I bought our high chair today.... converts to a booster seat so she can join us at the table further down the line

Oh we use size 3 nappies any of the supermarket brands. I've not noticed a difference using one from the other

Abacha · 04/09/2017 20:45

Thanks mother

MotherofA · 04/09/2017 20:47

We have the size 4 pampers baby dry - im sure ds is nowhere near the max weight for that size ??

Hugh glad to hear I'm not the only one! He has been going first thing for a few days now. Before this he was having tiny explosions every couple hours and that was a nightmare, but apparently neocate can make the bowels funny for first 21 days. I think this morning poo is going to be his new routine now.

Namechange - since ds is showing signs of self settling at least half the time, and the self settling involves whinging more than crying we are going to increase the self settling time before I intervene. Also got stricter daytime routine to follow. I must say although it's not been easy (more the lack of sleep for me) the advice received has been so gentle that I've not really had to see ds too distressed. When he has cried it's not been anymore than his crying before beginning this and certainly not for long periods, and I know he needs the good quality uninterrupted sleep as well. It's just about killed me as I'm knackered but hopefully we aren't too far now. Last night wasn't too bad.

Abacha we have the ikea high chair! My sil was saying it's hard as rock etc etc but I'm more than happy with it. Practical to use and I can't justify spending so much more for something he isn't going to sit in for long each day. You can get the blow up cushion padding thing for it too and it's absolutely fine. Does the job.

Carol that looks cool!

Hugh hahahaha that sound like
Me, not knowing it folds .....

Any advice for my DDs throat? She's just been screaming coz she lost her dummy (Was on top of her head Confused) but because she has a dry throat it just sounded like she was whinging but when i went it to see her i could see how much effort it took her to make the slightest sound Sad felt bad I left her a little to see if she would self settle as it wasn't a really cry

purpleviolet1 · 04/09/2017 21:05

Can I ask who posted saying they had CMPA themselves and they know how terrible they feel if they have something by accident, I've been looking for the message but can't find it. Wanted to read it to my dh!

No advice carol sorry :( maybe give calpol and regular sips of water in between feeds to soothe it? The other mums will know more.

Anyone bought a sippy cup for water?

OP posts:
Carolann8584 · 04/09/2017 21:13

We have a basic sippy cup. Was advised not to get a " NO spill" cup as DD would have to bite down on the spout to get anything out and if she has sore gums she won't get anything.

The one I got you can fold over the spout when not using it

NameChange30 · 04/09/2017 21:21

purple
That all makes sense, glad last night was a bit better and hope things continue to improve.

We have the Stokke Tripp Trapp high chair, it was a (very generous) gift and we love it. You can push it right up to the table and adjust it as they grow so it can be used for years. Not cheap though!

Tried some food for the first time the other day, a bit of carrot which DS wasn't sure what to make of Grin What with the disastrous sleep lately I don't have the energy to introduce solids right now but I know we need to start doing it gradually!

purpleviolet1 · 04/09/2017 21:33

Ooo just looked it up , nice name!

carol have you offered it to dd yet, how did she take to it?
