Hattie - of course I know what the lotto numbers are but I'm not telling you !!!! Heh heh heh

I was only thinking about you and Trixy last night that you hadn't been on for a while and lo and behold you've both reappeared!!

wilkie · 21/03/2007 11:49

EAH - lend us a tenner

2Happy · 21/03/2007 11:55

congratulations Mr Wilkie

bf midwife (or lactation consultant as she called herself!) has just left. Says ds2's tongue tie is almost complete (and was a little surprised it had taken me 6 weeks to notice )
So that's 2 paediatric referrals in under 2 weeks, oh I sooo feel like a fussy mummy now!

UD - what a nightmare. Can just imagine that sick feeling. Mind you you mustnt feel too bad about complaining about her as everyone complains about everyone at some point. Are you telling me that she has not winged about you to her friends/FIL? Hope that she sees reason soon and listens to your apology so you can all put it behind you.

2happy and EAH - gorgeous pics!

Congratulations Mr Wilkie!

2happy and Jodie, must be hard. I am quite lucky as DH gets home pretty early from work.

Glad the aptimel posse slept well!

Dragonhart · 21/03/2007 12:08

Oh dear 2happy. Hope your lo gets seen soon. xxx

Dragonhart · 21/03/2007 12:08

btw wilkie has the fleece suit been working?

Hattie2 · 21/03/2007 12:10

I've been lurking wilkie, we were away for the weekend and then just been struggling to keep up with reading the posts let alone getting round to posting myself! Actually got a quiet few minutes here at the moment, ds asleep in bouncy chair and dd eating lunch before we rush off to pre-school (starts at 12.45, a real PITA of a time).

2happy - I probably ought to know but I'm not sure what tongue tie is. But you don't sound too worried(?) so hope it gets sorted out quickly.

RGee · 21/03/2007 12:12

Yeah! Well done Mr Wilkie! Can he come round and give my DH a lesson. He's out playing this afternoon, and prob won't be back before lo bedtime. I need him to be better so he can get a round in quicker

2Happy - sorry to hear all isn't well. I don't know what a tongue tie is. Does it hinder feeding?

I am a yummy mummy. Just made an apple crumble whilst Pippa looked on. Then removed a decaying mouse from under our hall table. It kinda removed my appetite. She is now napping (Pippa, not the mouse, who is obviously departed). I am now drinking lots of tea and trying to keep up with this post - again!!

RGee · 21/03/2007 12:14

EAH - the postman brought a lovely swim nappy this morning. Many thanks for that

2Happy · 21/03/2007 12:14

It's where there's a piece of tissue between the tongue and the floor of the mouth, so you can't stick your tongue out. Causes problems with feeding, sometimes with speech and dental hygiene, and means you can't french kiss or lick ice creams. So it's not a major health worry, more a PITA. Poor sod, I don't half pass on wonderful things for my kids to inherit!

PMSL at the mouse napping! We had a "napping" rabbit under our table this morning

OP posts:
RGee · 21/03/2007 12:16

Did you have that too 2Happy? A pisser not being able to lick ice cream (sod the french kissing)

RGee · 21/03/2007 12:20

2Happy - did a cat bring a rabbit in? Or is it DS1 pet.... Never had a rabbit! Our cats are expert mice catchers, but better mice than birds. I did get a magpie once but stupid cat let it go and came home to blood and bird shit all over our draining board and draining plates / cutlery as the daft bird was trying to fly out of the shut kitchen window. I managed an animal rescue though.

2Happy · 21/03/2007 12:21

I do have it, yes. I think ice creams are much better bitten or eaten with a spoon anyway
(and dh has never complained about the other, tho I did get some mild teasing at school, and I would worry that that may be worse for ds, being a boy)

RGee · 21/03/2007 12:24

Right. Off to feed lo shortly, then out in the sunshine (Hopefully no snow today) to get the bruiser weighed. Last time she jumped from 2nd to 25th percentile. Think we may be in for an equally impressive jump today. My right arm muscle is like Popeye's, whereas my unfavoured left is like Olive Oil's.

2Happy · 21/03/2007 12:24

Oh frickin cats are monsters. We have 2, one is a bit of a pudding and sticks to mice and birds; the other is more like a ruddy lion and brings in mice, birds, rats, rabbits, a bat... so far he's never tackled a pheasant but I'm sure it's only a matter of time.

ds1 saw cat with a rabbit once, I had to tell him he was "tickling" the rabbit (as he chewed its head off )

And the worst thing?? He's a long haired cat, and dh insisted on calling him fluffy!!! Yes, ds1, that's fluffy decapitating that sheep, dear...

Dragonhart · 21/03/2007 12:31

pmsl at the lion cat called fluffy. Bet he gets teased by all the other toms near you!

Hi all. Nearly half past 12 and only just turned the computer on! Phew. Busy morning. Haven't got time to catch up on everything right now as just off to the shops. Have to say to UD. I'm so sorry you're having a rough tme at the moment. It's so awful that something so silly and harmless like complaining about your MIL can turn into something so painful. I really think she probably will calm down in time and of course she will want to still see her grandson.

EAH I don't think last night was really a fair first trial of the hungry baby milk. I let Freddie sleep way too much yesterday so it wasn't really that surprising that he wasn;t that tired during the night. That said, he did alright, just the same as usual really. Went to bed at 7:30, dreamfeed with the HBM at 10:30, slept til about 3 when he had the rest of the carton of the HBM (only about 4oz, so obvuiously wasn't that hungry) then slept til 7. He was up for longer than usual at around 3 though - usually he wakes up, feeds and goes straight back down all within about 20 mins, but he was up for nearly an hour. I was a bit worried that he was having troube digesting the HBM, but probably more likely he just wasn't that tired cos he slept too much in the day. I'm going to make a really effort to keep him up more today and try again tonight though Very of hattie's good night again!!

ellieandhattie · 21/03/2007 12:42

Just had lunch and came back and you have all been chatting, cats are not my thing specifically fir the reasons below. In fact only pets in this house are the tropical fish (if they survive much longer Ellie climbs on her chair and frequently lifts the lid and 'mixes'them with a wooden spoon

ellieandhattie · 21/03/2007 12:44

shimmer I love my baby girl soooooo much at the moment (although shes been asleep alot today )

ellieandhattie · 21/03/2007 12:45

RGee glad it arrived

Lizzzombie · 21/03/2007 12:54

Wilkie - you are not the only one who has been suffering with the sweat thing. Its weird. Not so bad now, but up until probably last week every morning I would wake up drenched. Its gross!

Lizzzombie · 21/03/2007 12:56

Also, does anyone else find they are covered in baby sick most of the time. I reckon I must change clothes at least a couple of times a day! I stink of sour milk most days. I think I may design & make up a 'wipe clean bodysuit' for mothers to wear when feeding/winding their babies.
Does anyone else want one?!

Shimmer · 21/03/2007 12:59

Anyone watching the budget?? its pretty boring and the program (i never know if its program or progamme?? what's the difference? does anyone know?) i've been listening to on BBC2 is going on for AGES. But i did hear rumour of an increase in child benefit
