JodieG1 · 26/03/2007 15:06

Rgee - me too, ds1 one the same Ethan is still exclusively breastfed as well. When the hv came out at a few weeks old she seemed amaezed that he was just fed on breastmilk, asked me twice lol.

wilkie · 26/03/2007 15:15

Laughalot - how did it go chuck? Been thinking about you.

PCF - good luck though xxxxxxxx

Jodie - can't believe how much Ethan weighs - what are you feeding him

wilkie · 26/03/2007 15:16

Oh poo, sorry Jodie just read your post in answer to RGees Q. Thought maybe you were puree-ing sausage and mash Hee hee - love chubby bubba's, so cute

2Hapy - do you stil have loads of bibs going spare or did some one take you up on the offer of them?

WilkieTheEasterBunny · 26/03/2007 16:08

Changed my nickname to a more festive one

Muckypup · 26/03/2007 17:28

Very appropriate Wilkie. What a fantastic excuse to have lots more chocolate. Is anyone else eating too much cake? On Saturday I invited some friends over - said I'd provide the cake - and they all brought some so I've been pigging out ever since. My belly is not going to shrink much further at this rate.

16lb is a good size Jodie. I can't believe how quickly they grow. I might need to put Leo up to 3-6 months clothes soon as I have started to use washable nappies and he looks like suma-wrestler with his big bum! Will try to post a photo soon but camera memory is all used up on trying to capture the smile!

Jabs were OK. He screamed during but seemed ok afterwards.

katwith3kittens · 26/03/2007 17:29

Just had 2nd set of jabs this afternoon. Poor little thing was speechless with shock, he went bright red, held his breath for what seemed like 3minutes before letting out one huge wail. Seems OK now though.

Had him weighed and he's 6.85 Kg. Now come on girls I'm probably the oldest mum on this thread and I've gone metric, havent got a clue what that is in the old fashioned weights but its heavy !

Pcf Go for it girl !

Funnily enough I was just thinking the other day about this time last year as we've got an invite to a do that I remember being at last year when I suspected I was pregnant. I remember at the time thinking 'now do I have this glass of wine or not ?' its amazing where he time has gone isn't it ?

2Happy, the RVI is easy to find (although I still cringe at the very mention of it after being ambulanced from Hexham in the full throws of labour ) from the A1, exit to one of the roads signed A167, probably the easiest one is also signed for the airport /kingston Park and pass through all the best parts of town until you get on the dual carriageway where it all opens up into the Town moor. The RVI is signposted off from there in the direction of the football ground which you should be able to see on the skyline. There is limited parking in the hospital multistorey and on the road outfront {its cheaper on the road next to the park the further up you go !) Is this to do with the jaundice thing ? Hope it all goes well, the staff there are lovely.

JodieG1 · 26/03/2007 17:52

Hope all jabs went well.

Forgot to say that Ethan is wearing 6-9 months babygrows now and has done for a couple of weeks lol. Clothes he can still fit 0-3/3-6 though, always found that babygrows come up smaller. Size 3 nappies I use from papmpers newborn range.

saltcod · 26/03/2007 18:01

Trixy, we're getting Luca christened in May & didn't want a frilly romper suit either... have also bought the one from Next (same as this one here Linen Suit )

Anyone else having nightmares with leaking nappies? Just when we think we've found a brand & size that suits, we stock up & then find within a couple of weeks they've started leaking. Massive poohy spurts up the back usually. Easily get through 3 complete changes of outfits in a day Still 100% breastfeeding so poos are extra squitty!

And talking of short labours.... my established labour was 1 hour 7 mins (including 3rd stage of placenta!). If I ever have a 3rd baby they've said not to bother trying to get to hospital & just have a home birth

theUrbanDryad · 26/03/2007 18:18

Zac has his second set of jabs next monday. he'll be 12 weeks on friday!!

is anyone else's LO chewing their fists? he's getting a rash on his index fingers i've been trying to get him to chew a teether but he's not into it. i'm wondering whether to get some homeopathic teething powder, anyone know what age you can use them from or where to get them from??

PCF - my dh wants to start trying for number 2 but i'm not so keen!! good luck though!

Muckypup · 26/03/2007 18:19

Saltcod - have you thought about washables? I haven't had a poo leak since switching. I used to use pampers and I had the same problem of leaking up the back and my boy has a big tummy so it can't be that they're too loose!

Muckypup · 26/03/2007 18:20

Leo has fallen asleep and I've put him down on his tummy in his Jungle Gym - looks very cute!

theUrbanDryad · 26/03/2007 18:27

Muckypup - i've found Pampers rubbish...they kept leaking to the left. everyone i've spoken to has said the same, and they're all mums of boys. i like morrisons own brand the best. i tried to order my cloth nappies today but for some reason it wouldn't accept my discount code from the NappyLady...i'll have to phone her tonight and ask her to order them for me! what brand do you use MP??

JodieG1 · 26/03/2007 18:35

I really like pampers, had a couple of leaks but he does do explosive poos at times. I've used pampers with all 3 now as well.

2Happy · 26/03/2007 18:52

Ah, RGee, 'fraid Magnolia beat everyone there, she had hers on 30th November, and there were 5 born before your dd
Wilkie - 26 spare bibs at the last count - do you want?? becky at iainandbeckys dot plus dot com
Glad to her bout these well-grown babies. I agrree with you, Jodie, about babygrow - ds2 was already in 3-6 month babygrows when he was 6 weeks old Mostly because his body is sooooo long, his legs were drowned in the babygrows but it's the only way to fit his long body into them! I do grow LARGE boys! Mine'll be officially weighed at clinic Wednesday, what's the bets...75th? 91st centile??
Kat, thanks so much for the instructions - I know the Kingston Park/Airport exit, so that's really helpful. It's for his tongue tie, I'm just hoping that it makes a difference to his feeding which seems to be getting faffier and faffier
Saltcod - if you'd asked about squirty nappies yesterday I'd have said no, but this morning had the most explosive poop right through the nappy, body suit, babygrow and growbag . I'm not sure any nappy would have contained it, lol! But dsis swore that reusables stopped leakage, like muckypup says.
No word from laughalot yet??

WilkieTheEasterBunny · 26/03/2007 19:31

Hi all.

2Happy have emailed you re the bibs.

Am I the only one with a festive name - c'mon ladies, get your thinking caps on.

Also think we may need a new thread - 413 posts in less than two weeks

WilkieTheEasterBunny · 26/03/2007 19:34

or 444 for that matter!!

I haven't found the size thing with baby-gros, if anything they swamp him. J is still in NEXT 'Up to 1 month' which is supposedly up to 10lbs.

But then he wasn't very long - only 49.5cm when born.

2HappyEaster · 26/03/2007 19:44

Tis predictable, but what else could I call myself?!

Emailed back, Wilkie , ignore the wittering, am on a lovely glass of wine! Was just thinking about a new thread...maybe best not to do it on the wine

theUrbanDryadLovesCremeEggs · 26/03/2007 19:48

look - i've goy my Easter hat on! can i join in the parade?

2HappyEaster · 26/03/2007 19:50

Ooh good name!

CarrotAteAllTheEggs · 26/03/2007 19:51

Wilkie the easter bunny- hello from fat carrot

Hi everyone!

Ud, Nelson's 'Teetha' homeopathic granules is sold in most chemists round here, it's chamomilla I think. I found that really helpful with my other two, not sure what age you can take it from but I'm sure he can have it soon. I know someone who gave it at four months.

2HappyEaster · 26/03/2007 19:55

I've cracked (Easter pun intended )
Festive Thread

trixymalixy · 26/03/2007 20:05

saltcod - that's the suit I was thinking of getting for DS - so cute!!

muckypup - what kind of nappies do you use? I've just ordered a selection of reusables to see how I get on with them.

I hate pampers, I managed to cut DS' leg with the tab, huggies are much softer.

DS has just moved from newborn into 0-3 sleepsuits, but only because of the length, he is only on the 9th centile.

saltcod · 26/03/2007 20:13

UD - snap... we found pampers leaked at the front on the left too! Also found them very rough & chemically. Huggies much nicer but currently not fitting DS. Using tescos premium at the mo. So far one wee leak at the front but no poo ones!

Luca is another one filling his sleepsuits & babygrows. Will be moving into 6-9 months soon Growing too fast!
