2happy - I find chocolate for breakfast always sets me up for the day. Go for it.

wilkie · 21/03/2007 08:56

His coaching exam - if he passes he will then be a fully qualified PGA Golf Professional and can start looking for Head Pro jobs which will mean LOADS more money

wilkie · 21/03/2007 08:57

2Happy/Lizz - have you tried Special K bliss? That's what I have for breakfast - it has chocolate and strawberries in it gorgeous AND good for you

ellieandhattie · 21/03/2007 09:02

2happy thanks god for mums!

I think we all need to relocate closer to each other in these circumstances he he!

Actually have my best mate and her dd coming at lunch time as shes now11 days from her due date and very fed up so at least the dd's can play (according to Ellie they have to go outside and play in the new sand pit regardless of the weather!

2Happy · 21/03/2007 09:02

Good luck Mr Wilkie (just as well you didn't have to eat your own head, then, it might have put him off just a little )

Laughalot - crikey, I'm going to stop moaning about dh being away - yours is far worse, 1 day home out of 3 weeks?! Maybe we should start an abandoned wives club!!

I've tried to alleviate my sugar crving with crunchy nut clusters instead. The malteser's are still calling. A client gave them to dh to thank him for putting their dog to sleep . The thought almost puts me off having them. ALmost......

I'm lucky too as my parents are staying at their flat about 5 mins away while dh is away, they have a place in London too. Just glad to have them here for an extra pair of arms and some adult company!

Hope your dh's exam goes well Wilkie.

wilkie · 21/03/2007 09:06

'...to thank him for putting their dog to sleep...' Heh heh heh - that really made me laugh. Why would you thank someone for putting your beloved pet to sleep???? Wilkie really is a heartless bitch

ellieandhattie · 21/03/2007 09:10

had a slight smirk on my face reading that 2 happy!

2Happy · 21/03/2007 09:10

It struck me as slightly incongruous too, Wilkie They also gave him a card - with a lovely arty picture of dogs on a beach on it!! Made me quite ... I couldn't do his job!

maybe it was a vicious dog?

thanks for all your comments about my supreme idiocy. wilkie - dh phoned MIL and said that i'd emailed her to apologise and attempt to explain but she didn't even give him the chance to say that and just ranted at him for ten minutes, and finished up by saying she'd pack his stuff into boxes and he could come and pick them up at the weekend. mind you, she threatened that with our wedding when she wasn't getting her own way too, so who knows? it may just be a bluff

ellieandhattie · 21/03/2007 09:30

morning ud hopefully she'll calm down a bit.

Just added funny pic of hattie and my laptop onto profile

wilkie · 21/03/2007 10:52

Bit gross but question for you all...has anyone else found that they sweat more since they've had babies?? I never used to sweat much but since having J I get REALLY hot really easily and sweat.

Just been for an hours brisk walk and have sweat patches on my top. Really bloody unattractive and embarrassing!!!!!!!! (so glad none of you know me in RL)

katwith3kittens · 21/03/2007 10:53

How many posts ?! .... I'm on my 3rd cuppa already.

UD - I Know you feel bad, but what you wrote wasnt all that bad, what you need to do now is grovel grovel and GROVEL. MILs have to get on our nerves thats their job, think how much fun we can have in 25 years time !!!

I'm sure she will come round, maybe soon, maybe some weeks later, but your LO is her grandson and she wont cut you out because of him. I understand she is cranky old bat, but if you email her photos regularly and she still refuses to see you all then I think you are clawing back some of that high ground.

Think you've probably learnt a very big lesson and made us all more aware. Hugs.

2Happy · 21/03/2007 10:53

I really hope it's a bluff, or it's just her in the heat of things and she'll calm down. I still think it would take some piece of work to cut your son, dil and grandson out of your life for this. Plus she's been a mother herself, surely she can understand how we all feel when people constantly offer unwanted (and unhelpful!) advice about parenting? Surely she can remember how especially protective (and in my case quite posessive!) we feel for our firstborns?? Can she have really forgotten those emotions? What's your dh saying about it all this morning?

OP posts:
katwith3kittens · 21/03/2007 10:55

Nope sorry Wilkie, I'm probably the opposite as I was a bit sweaty when pregnant but thats not surprising really carrying that big bump around.

2Happy · 21/03/2007 10:55

Wilkie - I read that you lose the fluid you retained in pg through sweat after having your baby. I find I sweat a lot at night, though that may also be keeping the room warm enough for ds2 (and sleeping with a pillow over my head to block out some of his noise, lol!).

wilkie · 21/03/2007 11:18

God, my stomach is churning - DH should be finished his eam any minute. He's going to ring and let me know how it went. He was giving a lesson whilst being watched so I think he will pretty much kow if he's passed although won't get official result for 8 weeks!!!!!!

wilkie · 21/03/2007 11:21
