Hi - I'm still BF - just. Am following Baby Whisperer, ish and feeding every 3 hours during the day. Longer in the night.

But, if I leave it too long this happens:

( o )
( o )

vino - cant believe you've had your baby 2 months and had no wine yet! thats what makes my baby sleep longer in the evening. wine. [bad alchie mother emotion]
I reckon if I have a couple of double vodkas, he'll go through the night. F**k formula!

Lizzzombie · 23/03/2007 22:20

ok, sorry. I've had too much to drink. (2 glasses instead of 1) am obviously a bit tipsy. Going to bed now, in case I make more of a fool of myself! x

trixymalixy · 24/03/2007 00:00

Saltcod, my DS has just gone from feeding every 3 hours to wanting to feed every 2 hours.

He was wanting to feed about every hour and a half until i realised that he was getting tired and wanted to comfort suck and we got him a dummy

I'm hoping that this is a bit of a growth spurt and he hasn't gone off his dummy!!

Lizz-loving the boob emoticons!!

theUrbanDryad · 24/03/2007 08:08

Saltcod, Z can go anything from 1 hour to 4 hours during the day, although in the night usually wakes up only once between 8pm and 7am! we had another night of 8pm-6am last night! it's good, but i find it more difficult to get back to sleep after the 6am feed! i really shouldn't complain should i??

Lizzz - how are you feeling this morning??!

wilkie · 24/03/2007 08:26

Oh Lizz, you are funny when tipsy. Maybe we should start a drunken thread???

Welcome back Saltcod!! Not BFing so can't comment.

Getting very despondant with Jacob's night sleeping. He is SO inconsistent and I'm getting a bit down with it. He's 10 weeks old and not really showing any signs of sleeping through. He took 7oz HBM at 7.15pm then slept till 11pm, took 2oz HBM so clearly wasn't hungry, then up at 3am for 3oz normal milk, then up from 6am.

FFS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2Happy · 24/03/2007 08:45

Hilarious, Lizzz! We'll all have to book an evening where we each have a glass (or two) and sit on MN
Saltcod, nice to see you
Looshkin is on holiday this week (gone to see the queen, isn't that right, Loosh ). I'm not sure if she's back today or tomorrow.
Katierocket has a heart-rending thread ATM, she has such an unsettled lo, it's so much luck this baby lark isn't it? The good/bad feeders, the good/bad sleepers, the good/bad daytime nappers, the colic/not, and yet (in my case I know) every time my lo is unsettled, I immediately look for something I've done "wrong". Motherhood seems to be all about beting ourselves over the head with a big guilt stick!

Right, well in Lizzz's words I am like this
(.)(o) and ds2 is scratting so it must be time for a faff, sorry I mean feed (I swear I will have cut his tongue tie myself by tuesday t this rate!)

Oh ps, I seem to remember there were some Newcastle mums on this thread when it started - any tips on getting to the RVI??

carrotcake · 24/03/2007 08:56

7.00pm, 10.00pm, 1.00am, 4.00am, 6.00am, seems to have become our routine, and, unsurprisingly, I have no problem going back to sleep at 6.00am, however, the other two are up shortly after and no matter how much I beat them they insist on coming in to say good morning to Felix! Honestly, I don't know how I feel ok in the day, well, I'm permanently knackered that's how.

I don't really beat my children btw

Tooth still hurts. Keep worrying he got the wrong one. Carrot tries to remember her cognitive behavoural therapy and not catastrophise, 'everything is not a disaster and the worst case scenario, it is not a disaster and worse case scenario...'

wilkie · 24/03/2007 08:56

2Happy - where's KRs thread?

RGee · 24/03/2007 08:58

Morning all.

Welcome back Vino. Hope you have a restful time at your mums and get lots of tlc. Ellen sounds like she's on top form even if you aren't, so enjoy your mum's. Hi again to Saltcod.

Wilkie - I too am getting frustrated by lo night sleep. She has gone from one to two feeds in the night. Last night it was 1am and 5am (luckily for me DH did them both). UD I am so

EAH - in case I forget or you're too busy to bob on to MN, have a great Christening. Look forward to seeing the photos.

Lizz - how's the hangover?

2Happy · 24/03/2007 08:58

RGee · 24/03/2007 09:01

Carrotcake - we're going to attempt a 10pm dreamfeed for the second time tonight, but I'm worried it may turn in to a feeding marathon like yours. Hope it improves soon. Is your lo a good weight? I read somewhere babies should be able to sleep through the night (metabolically speaking) once they hit 11lb.

carrotcake · 24/03/2007 09:04

{@} {@}, mine are more like these, areolas the size of spain, no wait, that's too perky, how about

{ }{ }
{@}{@}, can't quite get the droopy effect , Lizz, you are the best at boob emoticons!

morning 2happy, I agree, we need to give ourselves a break. No more guilt!

carrotcake · 24/03/2007 09:08

Rgee, our 10pm is not a dreamfeed! He's wide awake all by himself waiting for it to pop in! I gave up waking him when I went to bed as it didn't make a difference, those are rough times anyway but the same amount of feeding. He's a very resepectable 12.5 pounds at 8.5 weeks! So, maybe he's just greedy...

carrotcake · 24/03/2007 09:11

at poor katierocket, I read that thread yesterday but didn't realise she was from this postnatal one, I take back my night time moans.

2Happy · 24/03/2007 09:17

Oh, and about fishing for bogeys (actually think that might be bogies. Arse, 2happy misspells another thread title!), you were talking about using folded tissue - I also find the corner of a muslin works well for fishing trips in lo's noses

OP posts:
2Happy · 24/03/2007 09:20

And if we clock up another hundred posts today I'll start a new thread...possibly with Lizz's boob emoticons!

OP posts:
2Happy · 24/03/2007 11:24

Oooh I've just added a lurvely photo of dh and ds2 to my profile!

OP posts:
2Happy · 24/03/2007 11:25

(and if we clock up another 100 posts, it'll probably be mostly my doing )

OP posts:
2Happy · 24/03/2007 11:26

Shit sorry, I've just re-read one of my posts - I meant I'd start a new thread with Lizz's boob emoticons in the title. Not that I'd literally start a thread with her boobs!!

I should turn the computer off now, shouldn't I???

OP posts:
wilkie · 24/03/2007 11:55

Bored toay 2happy???

wilkie · 24/03/2007 11:55

today!

2Happy · 24/03/2007 13:27

What gave it away, Wilkie?

OP posts:
Lizzzombie · 24/03/2007 16:36

Hi! Its the boob lady here! No hangover from one & a half glasses of wine. I am planning a big night out next Saturday night though. Bit scared as there are a whole group of us going on a proper girls night out. I am so not going to last longer than 10pm!
Was a bit more knackered than usual at the 4am feed this morning, and LO chomped off the end of one of my nips...practically [slight exaggeration emotion] so boobs now look like this!
( o )( x )

saltcod · 24/03/2007 17:01

sshhhhh! DS has actually decided to have a daytime nap !!!!

Been reading Katierocket's thread & suddenly the fact that DS only goes for an hour between feeds during the day barely matters compared to what she's going through
I know a lot of the time he's just comfort feeding, but at least he's a happy little soul! I've tried a couple of different shaped dummies, but he spits them out. Likes his (.)(.) too much..... typical bloke!

Lizz..... you're gonna be so wrecked! I can get merry on about 1/2 a unit of alcohol these days after a year of abstaining Cheap date!
