lol - thinking of jabs... HV called yesterday - she said who was calling, and my first comment was "Have I missed more jabs?!?!" . Turned out it was to talk about DD but she found it amusing that I just assume she calls because I've forgotten things!

3k · 28/02/2007 10:55

Morning LAdies,

Nothing to report really. DS is fine, think he may have a tooth coming too. Chloe hope Oscar is ok today.

Just hung all my lovely nappies on the line, they look so lovely and fluffy!!! I just hope it doesnt rain!!!!

DH situation still not resolved, we had another chat last night but he said he doesnt want any more babies and I do so that will be a major hurdle. Well he doesnt think he wants anymore as he finds DS hard work and says he isnt cut out to be a dad. I definately want another one so this is the problem we will have to sort out if we will get back together. I told him why I wanted another one and he said let him think on it for a few days so we will see.

Flamesparrow · 28/02/2007 10:59

DD has finally started to catch on to counting... she could count as in each step 1, 2, 3, 4 etc, but not how many grapes are there? She just handed me my chocolates saying "you've got 3 left"

Flamesparrow · 28/02/2007 11:01

3K - I know that a lot of dad's don't feel that dadness thing until about 18 months... when they suddenly have a son running at them when they get home from work, clutching a ball (obv something more girly for girls). But I am also aware that that would be another 6 months in limbo for you

mustrunmore · 28/02/2007 11:08

sorry, in a huge hurry not not read anything But... go and look at page 55 of Practical Parenting for April, out now

Flamesparrow · 28/02/2007 11:14

I will buy it later (or just stand in the shop and read it...)

Flamesparrow · 28/02/2007 11:18

Getting bambineo trial packs, and btp packs soon (Its worrying how excited I can get about this whole thing... It'll wear off and I'll shut up soon )

and DH has been told he can transfer back to his old job - probably by the end of the month! Less travelling, less petrol, and Friday afternoons off

Jelley · 28/02/2007 11:52

3k - I agree re the dad thing...dp din't really have much interest in dd1 until 15 months (when I had dd2, and then he really bonded with her)dd2 will always be mummys girl I think. It is only third time round I've seen him really want to be with his baby. (I don't think it is because he is a ds this time, either)

mrm - is it your birth story? I'll try and remember to get it on the brownies run later

good news on the job front, Flame. And more nappies to play with.

Injection all done. I've got bread in the oven but no housework done yet, and I'm supposed to be going out this afternoon. ds isn't sleeping. He was woken after 1/2 hour this morning by the mean nurse with the needle, and hasn't gone back off.

csws - I try not to do all day with just me and baby.I go out once a day (plus two school runs). DS has breakfast and we are all out by 8.40. Sleep in the morning for 1.5 hours usually (actual time depends on days activities)
Lunch at midday ish, play (usually just crawl/ walk around the house throwing things on the floor)bottle at 2.30, then another school run, tea, bath, story, bed.

He is going to sleep on his own now! After the night he was left and went to sleep, I've been putting him to be and leaving him, and he's asleep in 10 mins at the most (even when we were away last weekend). I also gave him cm instead of a bf for his night feed (yes I know he doesn't need a night feed at all, but this way he went back to sleep after downing a full bottle and back in his cot. He was spending the second half of the night in our bed after this feed, so once he's used to that, I'll try and cut ift back.

He has also discovered Fifi

Sorry for the essay

CanSleepWeirdShifts · 28/02/2007 14:09

Buttercups and daisys Jelley, you mean you let him watch TV at this age .

Don't know whether Thell checks in any more, but Happy Birthday Sally .

So it seems that I'm the only SAHM who ever has to actually SAH .

Yay for job. Yay for B counting. Yay for boy sleeping by himself. Yay for magazine (whatever it is!). Can you not scan it in and e-mail it to us all??

3k - is dh saying that babies are the only reason he doesn't want to come back, or is that just one of many things that you need to sort? I suspect that the others are right about it getting easier for men as they get older. MrCSWS certainly finds it easier now (though still very hard) to spend time with dd than he did when she was tiny, and I'm sure it will get easier still once she can talk to him.

CanSleepWeirdShifts · 28/02/2007 14:45

Grrr - window cleaner woke dd up. Now she'll be miserable for the rest of the day .

damewashalot · 28/02/2007 14:56

We are in the house quite a bit although do have school runs to break the day up. Don't know what we do really, play a bit, sing all of the time and try to do jobs in between or when he sleeps. which could be any time, for 10 mins or 3hrs He helps with sorting socks etc which is fun and we generaly potter. Just starting to try and do more with him, went to our first rhythm time last week which he liked.
Agree about Dad's and babies.

Really must go and get my children from school, ds1 is 8 tomorrow how did that happen???

2boysmacca · 28/02/2007 16:04

Totally agree with the dad thing. Has anybody read the Steve Biddulp book, Raising boys? It's a real insight into the male psychie.

With the weather the way it is and the sleeping patterns of ds2 we are often in too. We play, read a lot and draw lots too but that's when ds2 is sleeping. If we're all up and in we race!!!

Took the boys to softplay today. Ds2 hasn't slept all day so he is really flagging. Just popped to Waitrose again (why do I keep forgetting things, it becomes expensive going to the shops 4 times a week) and sat and had a coffee. I am desperately trying to loose weight but it just ain't shifting - I need to go to the gym more but I haven't the time, or the money. Anyway, the point of that was that I treated ds1 to a biscuit and I watched and drooled at him throughout. I've always been able to eat what I want but since having the boys i've put on 1.5 stones

Did a pile of ironing this afternoon whilst ds2 was in bed (playing, not sleeping). Now I have to go empty the washing machine and wack it in the dryer ready for the next load. How do we create so much washing???

Is anyone still awake after that mammoth post???

2boysmacca · 28/02/2007 16:04

Biddulph

CanSleepWeirdShifts · 28/02/2007 16:14

But I'm always when I see pics of you macca - would love to have your figure.

2boysmacca · 28/02/2007 16:15

Clothes disguise a lot of things

Chloe55 · 28/02/2007 16:23

How proud are you all of me? I have been running - in the terrential rain and gale force winds!!! I think I have officially gone mad. I didn't manage to run far because it was just far too hard but the attempt was there. I should have come home, got the housework done and picked up ds by now though I have so far done NO housework and best go pick him up in a sec. I will lose the 2.5lbs I put on this week by my next weigh in.

CanSleepWeirdShifts · 28/02/2007 16:25
2boysmacca · 28/02/2007 16:27

Well done!

Chloe55 · 28/02/2007 16:29
Grin
Flamesparrow · 28/02/2007 17:07

Oops - Happy Birthday Sally!!!

Forgot to find the magazine - I will though I promise.

Upgrading to a paid for site... ain't gonna happen. Far too much money (compared to my budget obv...), so people will just have to cope with the long url etc.

Erm... w/r nappies... very quiet threads today - I wonder if something happened.

Flamesparrow · 28/02/2007 17:09

Well done chloe!

Frizbe · 28/02/2007 17:29

Happy Birthday Sally

MRM lol at food in the toy box by torchlight there's treasure in here somewhere!!

Flame lol at you and HV too, I like logo 1 btw.

CSWS grrrrr at windowcleaner for you

Macca your skinny in your photos!!! if its any help I've found the weight harder to shift this time too, I've started hitting the gym 3 nights a week and as of last night can report just made it back to previous pre preg weight, but would still like to shift another half stone/tone my flabby belly up, it looks even worse after no2......tummy tuck anyone?

Jelley, you make your own bread, your fab

Chloe, your a nutter in this weather

3K, tough one, I really hope you guys sort it out tho and agree with lots of the comments about dad's only get it at about 18mths, my dh will happily confirm that.

my day \link{http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk?rn=86020&topicid=1375&threadid=285506&redir=86020\argh

Frizbe · 28/02/2007 17:30

argh
or this even! damn laptop just had to copy n paste the slash as one on keyboard isn't working!

2boysmacca · 28/02/2007 17:49

My kids are driving me MAD! I'm gonna change my name from mummy to something else that they don't know so I'm not called every 2 seconds. Can a woman not have a poo in peace without ds1 jabbering away asking 40 questions

Shit ds2 fell off the sofa again. WHy does he keep climbing on?

2boysmacca · 28/02/2007 19:13

If only I could gym at night. Dh doesn't get home until 7.45 and it's too late for me to go then. I was an early morning gym goer in my former life. I'd catch the 6.25 train to get me to London Bridge at 6.30. On the gym floor at 6.35, out at 7.45. Work by 8.30. If I get up and run now, it has to be before the boys and I ain't getting up before 5.00 just for a run . I know I'll never get back to pre Finn but pre Luca would be nice - another 7lbs off, oh and the flat tummy I sculptured long ago

Boys in bed, yay.

Was going to stay of the wine tonight but I feel I need one (Ok so that's why the weight ain't shifting). Dh said he's gonna be late and I don't kno if I can last that long to eat, I'm starving.
