damewashalot · 02/03/2007 14:32

did that wrong then.....
Happy Birthday Neve
That's better

Jelley · 02/03/2007 14:42

macca - just on my way out, but read your post, it instantly remembered the time I did the "forcefully putting" (in my case read virtually throwing) dd1 on the sofa.
You aren't a bad mum, just a mum having a bad day. As dw said, talk to ds and try and put it behind you. Unless it is a regular thing, your ds will not remember it (dd1 certainly doesn't)

Jelley · 02/03/2007 14:44

The only other thing I can suggest if you really feel you aren't safe, is to take them out...anywhere.

Hope you feel better soon.

2boysmacca · 02/03/2007 15:03

Much better thanks. Little one still in bed. Ds1 just watched his favourite film (Ice Age2) as he always does after dinner. As he has always refused an afternoon nap, I let him watch a film after lunch so I can get on and do things and he is lying down, resting. As soon as ds2 is awake we need to go and do a big shop at Waitrose. I think I'm just going to get a takeaway for us tonight as I really can't think what to cook, and I guess I need to go to Waitrose with an idea iyswim?

The tantrum started because we left the toddler group early because he was just running up and down the room shouting (having fun, shouting) whilst the lady from Barefoot Books was reading them all a story. It was disrupting for her so after the 5th 'this is your last warning', we got up and left. He was really cross and then asked for his new book and dragon (that I had purchased at the group) and I said no, little boys that misbehaved, didn't get a treat. It all went wrong from there. It wasn't until about 50 minutes into the screaming tantrum when he was opening and shutting the front door and screaming outside in the drive that I realised he was totally out of control, and hysterical so I smacked him to try and jolt him as he wasn't listening to my calming voice . This just made him worse (obviously) and that's when I staretd to shout and threw him on the sofa.

On a more refreshing note as we were walking around town this morning, ds1 let out the loudest fart in the street. Now should I be embarassed that he did this so loudly and proudly or be proud that he said very loudly (and beautifully), oh pardon me!

Kids huh. Highest highs and lowest lows

Flamesparrow · 02/03/2007 15:07

Having a similar afternoon with DD - lots of growling at her (literally)

2boysmacca · 02/03/2007 19:50

Flame, just had a thought. Would you consider selling 2nd hand nappies on your site. As ebay no longer allow you to advertise, you could buy them up and sell on. Or even allow people to advertise for a small fee?????

Or am I barking mad?

PhoenixGirl · 02/03/2007 20:11

Hi

I got me Take That tickets today i'm so excited It only took me sitting with laptop on knee, phone in hand for 2 hours. I got them for Dec 11th.

Macca - don't beat yourself up these things happen. re farting. Lewis does it now and laughs his head off, typical man

Flame - the other day my mum said about cloth nappies "I don't like the colours of them" (they were wbb's) Then today she picked one up and said "I don't like these at all they look like bits of rag you've cut out yourself. Terry's look nicer" Wot does she know eh?

mustrunmore · 02/03/2007 20:52

SELL THE TICKETS!!! Have you seen what they're going for on ebay????

Macca; dont stress. I've gone through some horrendous patches with ds1 since ds2 was born, and at one point thought we'd never come out of it (once, csws pointed out that I hadnt been on here for 2 days, so it must be bad...)

If any of you see me selling on ebay, can you just come and disconnect my pc please? I said that was the end ages ago, but stuff keeps cropping up, and I like having a bit of cash. But then it eats into my time too much.

CanSleepWeirdShifts · 02/03/2007 21:10

Can't summon energy for proper post. Head crap. Afternoon nap didn't help today. Back later if it improves.

Frizbe · 02/03/2007 21:52

Happy Birthday Alfred

CSWS sorry its been a crap one....teeth at all? we had hysterics from dd2 in the middle of tea, turned out to be teeth as shut up when bonjella added and something cool pressed onto her gums (cucumber).

Flame and Macca sympathies with dd and ds1 respectivly, I've put dd1 back onto a star chart this week, after I lost it at her sunday afternoon when she was messing about not putting her shoes on (dh said to me, can you hear yourself, and I yelled yes and I'm happy shouting at her etc etc )
She's been a lot better since Tue when she realised I meant it and the naughty step was not where she wanted to be.....
Mind you at lunch today she called dd2 a 'little bitch' after some investigation, this turned out to have been copied from someone at pre-school.............hopefully she won't be saying it again!

Jelley great cake

MRM your bonkers! run one week, then go out somewhere the next! if you have an orange phone its 241 night at the cinema wed

Phoenix, Manchester then?? or Brum??
Also what agency do you use, thinking dd2 might actually be smiley enough for her at earn some cash (dd1 would have paddied too often)

3K if you reading I hope you make some good progress this weekend.

Poor ss was crying upon pick up from school too, cause some nice oik had smashed his head into the cloakroom wall and then kneed him in the face, so I rounded up witnesses and took them all with me to the nearest teacher, so that will be addressed with the oik, who'd legged it on monday Unprovoked as well......

CanSleepWeirdShifts · 02/03/2007 22:08

Problem is me, not dd Friz - sinusitis.

PhoenixGirl · 02/03/2007 22:13

Friz - Manchester He's with dk models in sheffield here

CanSleepWeirdShifts · 02/03/2007 22:45

Feeling marginally brighter so posting before the pain surges again.

Like the new logo lots flame.

for your day macca, but don't beat yourself (or ds ) up about it - we all have/will have bad days with them.
You can tell you used to be a business development manager - always full of bright ideas. What industry did you do it in?

No adverts on my screen - dh installed an adblocker for me.

Pleased you got tickets for TT pg. I suspect the concerts will be really good, even though I don't like them much.

2boysmacca · 03/03/2007 05:12

Morning. Been up for 40 mins and am now bores. Obviously nothing to say at this time of the morning.

csws - equities

I had every intention of going early bird at the gym but I'm not so sure now, I think I'll be too tires and then too soon after my breccie. If I go mid morning it'll be heaving and I hate busy gyms

ds2 sneezing away, better go wipe him up before the snot trail begins

Jelley · 03/03/2007 07:39

Morning,

An early start for you macca!

I've got nothing on this weekend, so it's likely to be boring.

I've almost stopped bf He's having a bf at bedtime, and cows milk the rest of the time.
How much cm should I be giving?
He's had 2-3 cups the last few days (about 8 oz I think)

2boysmacca · 03/03/2007 08:06

I remembre reading with ds1 that they need to drink about a 16 - 24oz a day. Not sure if that is still the case.

Off to the gym

mustrunmore · 03/03/2007 08:49

We've been up forever, just not downstairs till now. Ds1 is still asleep though so ds2 is playing with his cars in peace.

csws, have you ever sniffed Mackenzie's smelling salts? They'll either help, or your head will just explode. Either way.,sorted.

Frizbe, I love the way you phrased that as if we'd get an offer of babysitting 2 weeks in a row Thursday is an absolute one off, until my Mum comes down next in a few months. Thats why our choice of activity is such a crucial decision to make!! Dh's knackered his knee now though, just as the rib had healed, so it may not be a run together afterall!!

damewashalot · 03/03/2007 08:57

Just sticking my head in while i have 5 mins. Can't remember what I've read but thought I'd just wave at you all on my way past can't remember why I turned the pc on as have been distracted might be due to too much wine after ds1's party last night, I needed it after a house full of 8yr old boys
Frizbe, it's odd to have him called his full name usually only gets it at the dr, think he will have to be very naughty before I call him Alfred! He's Alfie mostly Have a good day tomorrow.

Flamesparrow · 03/03/2007 14:54

If we can manage to only post one post each today, then we will be able to do the final birthday messages on this thread tomorrow

(I am insanely obsessive over keeping some things neat... this thread being one of them!)

I have forgotten absolutely everything I have read because DD is talking in my ear

I think I remember some babies being up early/all night and others being poorly.

Tabs - hope you feel better.

Ricky Gervais was actually quite good last night. Very tired today from several nights of no sleep, ,and I am on night duty/no lie in tonight

Trying not to be back here later so as not to fill the thread

mustrunmore · 03/03/2007 15:22

Oh crap. I should be trying to think more carefuly about my postings then, to keep it all in one

So, today I need convincing that its not necessary to keep the sterilizer just incase we ever need to sterilize anything about the size of 3 bottles I cant bear to let go, incase its useful one day...

I also need ideas please, for a card that a 3yr old with a short attention span could make for mothers day, for someone who isnt his mother!

Have sold 3 PG Tips monkeys today Just told you that for Flame/csws's benefit, as they were so bemused about me making a profit on current Disney Store stock the other week

Flame; i dreamt I saw you at ds1's nursery, but you were neither working or picking up kids. Whats that all about then?!

Determined to do a toy cull today, if it kills me. I am so sick of the mountains of plastic crap everywhere.

Done my to do list for next week, and have included 'go beserk at Abbey National' as one task!

Csws. ds1 now calls Spot 'pippa'. He thinks Spot and Kipper are the same character , so I guess there's a logic there somewhere.

I seem to have developed a serious tank top fetish for the boys.Eek.

I have also ordered 2 puppets for ds2 (muppet style), a chinese old man, and a cossack!!

So, did you all go and read about me in WHSmiths now?

Chloe55 · 03/03/2007 15:59

Bloody hell - are all these mammoth posts an attempt to not go over the 1000?

Went for another run today. It was so boggy I almost lost my trainer Stepped in some mud and my foot came up minus the shoe! Had a more pleasant run though, I think I might be getting the feeling people who exercise get of wanting to do more......surely not!!

CSWS - hope you feel better soon.

CanSleepWeirdShifts · 03/03/2007 17:24

Yuk yuk yuk yuk yuk.
DD was having some nappy free time, and she'd gone all quiet, so I just went in to the kitchen to find her sitting in a pile of poo and eating it .

PhoenixGirl · 03/03/2007 17:38

Eeeeeeeewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww wot have you done with her? I think i'd have been sick.

Flamesparrow · 03/03/2007 18:03

Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

Not got to shops yet MRM

I have a 6 bottle steriliser I am torn with parting with too . Only used it about 4 times with DS anyway!

Yay for you selling things.

Chloe - put the trainers down and step away from the exercise. It only takes you to the Bad Place

Anyone love the irony of me saying we need to post less

Drumroll please.... first month's sums are in and we made....................................................................................................................................................£1.08 profit

PhoenixGirl · 03/03/2007 18:43

At least you're in profit
