More (((((hugs))))) for 3k

We've done 2 full days in cloth nappies now (still disposables for bed tho) and its fab. No smelly nappies in the kitchen bin

My gran gave me £30 today to buy ds his next pair of shoes and told us she's looking into renting a holiday home (only in Northumberland, but apparantly right on the beach) in Sept for all family (grandma, grandad, mum, dad, 2 db's, me, dh and ds) and it'll be their treat

Flamesparrow · 21/02/2007 20:35

Ooh that sounds good - I'd love a nice holiday like that

(Psst... can you tell your day of nappies story on the ad )

CanSleepWontStarve · 21/02/2007 20:54

Oh you've just reminded me flame - saw a sign in someone's car today that said 'psycho mum's taxi' - guess who it reminded me of?!

We've got through the whole day without drugs - hurrah! Haven't spotted another tooth, which seems a shame after all that suffering, but at least it's died down.

Very odd napping today. She had a short night last night as mum accidentally woke her this morning, but napped for 25 mins on way to friend's. She then refused to sleep in pushchair this afternoon (that's the third time in a row, which has come as a bit of a surprise after she did so well in London), so waited until she was bordering on meltdown, and then discovered that I had a dead battery , so she sobbed in her carseat for 20 mins whilst I was jump started, and then fell asleep in a minute once we got going. Napped for 40 mins, played for 50 mins, then sobbed with tiredness again, so napped for half an hour at 5:35. Bed at 8:20 and straight to sleep. No idea how much sleep to expect from her tonight (as long as not woken by mum again).

Oh, and we did do McD's. They do really salty chips again - last time I ate there (a looooooong while ago) they were really plain, having been salty years before. I ended up sucking all of her fries before I gave them to her .

Yay for holidays and shoes and nappies.

macca - didn't realise you had gone ahead with haircut - photo please!

PhoenixGirl · 21/02/2007 20:57

Done flame

2boysmacca · 21/02/2007 21:05

I'll get a photo taken on Saturday at ds party. However, photos of me are very few and far between (I think you've all been privvy to them) as I hate seeing myself

McD's Noooooooooooooooooooo as an ex employee (ok so it was ver 15 years ago whilst doing my A'levels) make sure you only ever order a 'grill' - a buregr without onions, mac without guerkins etc. You can be sure it's fesh then!!

CanSleepWontStarve · 21/02/2007 21:12

I ordered the only things that are non-dairy! Hamburger, fries, apple pie. Was actually quite yummy .

2boysmacca · 21/02/2007 21:18

Shame on you !

Flamesparrow · 21/02/2007 22:11

I'm typing on my very own laptop

3k · 21/02/2007 23:39

MRM - not sure how to Cat you my email address is [email protected] can you drop me an email first and I'll send over my address - sorry to be a pain!!

Well we had chinese tonight, Ben had a few chips!! my friend came over and also two of my other mates just to check on me and I got them walking my dogs in return for a cuppa so not bad I thought.

DH is looking after DS in the morning, I feel quite nervous!!

Flame - site is looking fab, I'm very tempted with more WBB - I love them!!! Just shoved a load in machine. The little lambs are ok but are much bulkier and not as soft.

3k · 21/02/2007 23:41

CSWS - I had McDonalds on Monday as had to go for blood test after fasting (to check for diabetes after all my thrush problems) so I got a hamburger and fries. My chips werent salty at all, I love lots of salt on chips. Ben had a few - I dont really like those fries much.

Phoenix - well done on nappies, I love mine. DS is still in disposables at night and I'll probably continue to do that too but saves lots of money during the day.

Flame - all the blue out of my WBB has gone

Flamesparrow · 21/02/2007 23:50

I'm getting tempted to stop stocking the colours, or at least put a big warning up - they assured me they had made the blue fading issue better, but clearly not!!!! I'm so sorry

Jelley · 22/02/2007 07:04

Maybe it is something about the blue in general, as mine are very faded, too, even with the tie dye (did you start with cream or blue? Can't tell as they ran the first time I washed them.

I have thrush again 3k - you are the expert...is there anything I can do?

DS' sleep is totally buggered. I'm just not taking any notice this week as we are going away at the weekend anyway.

I have a freestanding boy (For very shot periods of time), but he is trying, and did two steps yesterday!

Flamesparrow · 22/02/2007 07:46

@ freestanding and 2 steps

for thrush

For your nappies - I'm starting to think I completely cocked them up (can I just assure everyone else that I have sussed it now... not running at all with this batch!)... there is no way they should have faded that much (on blue or cream).

I have a cold Was feeling too rough last night to bake DS's cake so he's going to end up with a shop bought one instead of his pirate ship I suppose I might be able to get a couple of cakes, put em side by side and then just sculpt and ice them? Will have to see how time goes though!! Got to take the short one back to Psycho, sit with hers for an hour or so whilst she goes shopping, then go and do my own present shopping (minus one or both children ), then go to my mum/sister for the afternoon, and then I'm meant to be back to Psycho's for a girly night, but that is seeming one too many things!!!

damewashalot · 22/02/2007 07:56

Hi not read it all but have had a baby who couldn't poo ds1 so have prune knowledge 3k If he won't take apple juice you could have trouble getting him ti drink it. I used to buy ready to eat dried prunes, put them in a pan with a bit of water and simmer till soft then wizz. Then would put a bit in with some mushed apple or maybe you could try yoghurt? he actually quite liked it, we have picture of him plastered in it with a spoon clutched in his sticky fingers be warned don't give everyday and prune sneezes are worse than weetabix ones
Really must get children ready for school back to read the rest in a bit.

Flamesparrow · 22/02/2007 08:50

My baby is all growed up

She has spent forever calling Psycho's DS2 Jaypob... today she is saying Jacob

Rojages turned into sausages at the weekend too...

mustrunmore · 22/02/2007 08:56

Flame. I am now Mum instead of Mummy, which is terrible, and really grates on my nerves!

Well done Boy

3k, i've mailed you.

mustrunmore · 22/02/2007 08:56

Back later for medical advice... ds2 had a bad birthday, poor baby!

Flamesparrow · 22/02/2007 09:11

awwww

Flamesparrow · 22/02/2007 09:20

Just been doing worrying adding up... do you know in this thread and the last, we used the word "Pirate" (or piratey/pirates) 27 times?!?!

(well, 30 with those 3...)

mustrunmore · 22/02/2007 09:22

right, opinions please! Dont want to go to docs again, as I feel ike we live there, and I dont want to be seen as a neurotic mother. And dont have time to wait 5 hours for NHS Direct to call me back!!!

Ds2 had a very very bad night the day before yesterday; only slept 40 mins at a time, then woke up in pain, switched between our bed and his cot all night, no peace anywhere.
Thought it was teeth because he's been really grinding. But yest PM in the park asleep, he had a big lump of ear wax, which I scooped out with my finger. It was like letting out a plug and a whole load of very runny clearish wax literally poured out. Do you think something burst? He was miserable and dosed up with calpol all day. Or is it coincidence, and teeth are at the bottom of it?

mustrunmore · 22/02/2007 09:23

Flame, do you have too much time on your hands?

AlrightDave · 22/02/2007 09:25

Burst eardrum - almost 99% certain. Was he a lot happier after it happened? I remember DD having one about 8 months - she could only sleep in a daze if she was upright, screamed all night long, wnet all floppy and scarey, then all gunk poured out and she was sooo much happier - had antib's and got better really quick.

Back to docs i'm afraid!

damewashalot · 22/02/2007 09:30

Agree with dave Whoever you are

MyNamesNotDaveItsRodney · 22/02/2007 09:30

Sorry... playin with Dave names

Decided I like this one better.

Its quite nice not being me for a bit

mustrunmore · 22/02/2007 09:34

Er, he doesnt seem much happier tbh. He's got a bit of a snotty nose now too, to add to it all.
