Happy Birthday Chloe!

Had a mild panic just then as my mac didn't automatically connect to my parent's network (dh set it up with the same name and details as our one at home to make life easy for us!), but seem to have fixed it - phew!

Oh and thanks for all of your good wishes for Pippa. She's spent most of her waking hours today sobbing (bar an hour at tumble tots this morning), but it's been a different sort of sobbing most of the time - think she has the cold/flu thing a bit - she's almost lost her voice, so I've doped her up on medised all afternoon instead of nurofen and calpol, and she's certainly calmer tonight, despite being in a different bed in a different house!

Me again, just to remind flame that America's Next Top Model is on NOW (should be repeated on Living TV + 1 at 10).

2boysmacca · 19/02/2007 21:06

Whereabouts int he country aere you typing from csws?

How can a woman spawn such different children? Ds2 is just so boisterous. If I have taken him off the sofa once, I've done it a thousand times! He jumped, yes jumped off the sofa today and that was after he fell off it earlier on in the day. Ds1 finds it hilarious that I keep moving him, which only encourages the cheeky monkey to get back up. He was trying to climb onto the tv cabinet shelf today I feel like a new mum, this is all so alien to me. Arghhhh

CanSleepWontStarve · 19/02/2007 21:18

Worcester macca.

Enjoying yourself? Are you getting a few nights off the same old same old routine?

CanSleepWontStarve · 19/02/2007 21:39

I still get to do same old, same old, but with a viewing audience .

I don't have to cook or clean up the mess after dinner though (though I do have to put up with my parents' cooking!)

Haven't actually seen mum yet - she finishes work in 20 mins (till tart ) so dad's just off to meet her and walk back.

He's just handed me a glass of wine and a big bag of crisps, so that will keep me going whilst he's out!

OP posts:
2boysmacca · 19/02/2007 21:42

I always end up having to cook when I go to my folks but I get mum to do the pooey nappy changes

MrCSWS · 20/02/2007 00:33

Just thought I would chip in that i still am looking at the thread and keeping up what is going on even though i am across the atlantic

Temperature is a bit cool (-18C) here in Montreal.

CSWS - you would be lost without mumsnet for a day (If you didn't get connection, i sense a call was imminent or a drive back to hertfordshire sharpish)

2boys - have fun with active babies, Pippa has been like this for weeks (months). sometimes you wish for a quite life, but it would be dull if they went back to their sedentary ways.

BTW - Pippa gets her non dressing from me , sometimes when i work from home, i struggle to get dressed before dinner!

2boysmacca · 20/02/2007 06:16

Mrcsws. Believe me, active I can cope with, kamikaze I can't. This one is like no other I've seen.

Jelley · 20/02/2007 07:40

Morning all,
Hope you had a good birthday Chloe

at the image of sobbing Pippa. I hope she's better soon.

DS is still purring (His chest has sounded awful since Christmas, but I'm not sure it is worth taking him back to the drs as they don't want to do anything. It just sounds bad). He also has a temp again.

macca - I remember thinking the same thing when IO had dd2. How can the two same parents produce two children so different in every way?
It has been less of a shock this time round.

DDs are back at school today

2boysmacca · 20/02/2007 08:06

I'm dressed. Couldn't bring myself to do it! Ds2 in bed, ds1 watching M M M M M Milkshake!

There is one similarity bewtween the 2 boys, they both have very wheezy chests too, but then i always sound as if I've smoked 40 fags too

Back to school here too today . Think I might take a walk into town this morning and get some more bananas (we eat sooo many) and treat Finn to a frothy milk and blueberry muffin. Starbucks has arrived, hurrah!!!!

mustrunmore · 20/02/2007 08:15

Hi Macca; I've going to have a coffee dilemma soon Costa opening next to my current 'local' coffee place. What do I do??!! Current place has lovely staff and does a loyalty card,we always go there, I get the odd free one, and ds1 likes it. Costa will have soya milk, and bigger toilets (ie wont have to leave ds2 and the buggy with the staff!), maybe highchair for ds2, and maybe even a comfy sofa

I'm going to open some more of ds2's birthday stuff; cant wait til tomorrow!

2boysmacca · 20/02/2007 08:36

No contest, local one! Our Costa's is rubbish. Highchairs are filthy, staff are rubbish, toilets you can hardly swing a cat in. Do they have soya milk? Why do you take soya milk, do you or yours have an allergy?

Flamesparrow · 20/02/2007 08:36

m m m m mi mi mi mi more milkshake

CSWS - I was out Its repeated in the week though because I tried to watch it last week and realised I'd seen it

Hope the poorly babies are a bit happier today.

DD had her second night with no pull ups and no wee.... ANDDS SLEPT THROUGH - 7pm - 7.30am

Ok, he was in a disposable... I don't know if the two things are linked

mustrunmore · 20/02/2007 08:42

Might have to suggest the local one gets soya in . But TBH I dont think they would, as it'd really bite into their GP ; lack of demand, so you'd waste half a carton each time. And I really like to sit somewhere with a bit of space, but they cant do anything about that!! They need to increase their food options too!!

CanSleepWontStarve · 20/02/2007 09:26

mrm aspires to be like me macca, hence the desire for soya milk .

Yay for boy sleeping through flame. Am going to get very if he does that long as a regular thing.

Hope boy is ok Jelley. DD was hot again this morning (38.4), but not as hot as last week, and she has definite cold come out, but seems brighter than she has for days (after nurofen). Is now playing with mum whilst I've come upstairs for a shower. She didn't want breakfast this morning though - just milk.

Mum has arranged for friend to come and give me massage later this morning, so that should be nice. Think I'll prob go for back and head (and then need to wash my hair - gah!), though reflexology is also tempting.

MrCSWS - mac didn't pick up network automatically, so had to pick airport settings and enter the key code that we sent to dad when db was staying with them. No idea if machine will now work when I get back home!!

Flamesparrow · 20/02/2007 09:40

He has a lot of lost time to catch up on though!!! He is allowed that long all the time

damewashalot · 20/02/2007 09:41

Morning!
Have always dressed big 2, although they are often in pjs till 10 or 11 in school hols but ds3 often spends the day in a sleepsuit and goes on the school run in one everyday. I get dressed so I don't have to answer the door in pjs.

Hugs for 3k, I haven't got anything usefull to add but am thinking of you.

Chloe55 · 20/02/2007 09:52

Morning everyone,

Had a nice day yesterday but didn't seem like my birthday at all, I still had to clean up cat pee , loaded and unloaded dishwasher, did 2 loads of ironing, hoovered the house, cleaned the toilet and mopped the floor. Mum dropped me off a bottle of wine and £20 for a Chinese though because we couldn't afford to go out so I pigged out and watched TV all night Is this what birthdays will always be like now I'm an adult and a mum?!

for Flameboy sleeping through (I won't tell you what time ds got up this am though, and the fact he has now gone back to bed )

3k - hope you are ok, we are always here if you need a chat.

Frizbe · 20/02/2007 09:58

Happy Belated Birthday Chloe, sorry girls not been on for a few days and no time at the mo to catch up, anytime for a quick summary anyone?

Happy Birthday to Anya today!!

ok quick copy n paste from march thread for you as to where I've been (just in case you were wondering!)
Went out sunday night, gran had all the kids, marvelous, reminded me why not to drink that damn red stripe rubbish
Saw the Black Keys, kinda 60's psychodelic rock not too bad actually was for a mates birthday, so that coupled with a curry made for a good night out.
Did Butlins with kids yesterday lots of swimming, going on the fair, watching puppet shows, not bad, only complaint really was lack of more entertainment, as last year bob and angelina were on, but we missed Spud in the morning, and there was no one else all day, think part our fault tho, as mon appeared to be a swapover day, so less on......all had fun anyway and thats what counts!
So hoping you all ok and will catch up properly when get a sec later, damn half term!

PhoenixGirl · 20/02/2007 10:06

Chloe - my mobile rang about 8am on Saturday and it was your name that was flashing up on it. I answered it but no one was there, was Oscar playing with your phone? Lewis always rings people when playng with mobiles

PhoenixGirl · 20/02/2007 10:09
