Sept 05 babies - anyone else's destroying their house?

My 16 month/nearly 17 month old is systematically destroying our house. I literally cannot clear up one mess before he's made another. Today in the space of 30 minutes, he had got into three toilets and either pulled used paper out of them, shoved toys in them or used the loo brush to paint the walls.

He then got into the kitchen cupboard and got into the box of teabags and ripped them apart sprinkling the tea leaves on the floor.

He then walked into the hallway, reached up to the top of the telephone table (fairly high) and managed to knock off a VERY heavy glass vase so that it smashed into a million tiny shards (and remarkably walked away unhurt) and at the same time managed to smash the mini CD player underneath the vase.

While out at a soft play centre, he knocked over someone's cup of coffee, stole someone's lollipop and someone else's drink.

Once home, he dug up freshly planted bulbs and brought all the mud inside which he deposited in the kitchen cupboard.

Supper was smeared everywhere - I now have cous cous from floor to ceiling. And I won't even get started on what the toy room looks like.

In case you're wondering, I do keep an eye on him but have a 3 year old too and need to occassionally pee or get dressed. I feel like I am about to lose my mind. My house is a shit pit. I know I will spend hours clearing it up tonight only to have it destroyed again tomorrow.

Sorry for the moan. Just needed to get it off my chest instead of throttling the small chap. I know he's just exploring but my patience is wearing thin.

Sounds good Mummyhill - Rachel likes to put her potty on her head and do a wee jig much to ds's amusement!

Hello .

Just flicking through active conversations and saw this here? How is Alice's triplet? Sounds like things are going well for you wabbit .

Underrated gets to see my pathetic attempts at eating F&V quite often .

Alice is gorgeous - she is a very real person in her own right (as well as being a lovely little sister as well ).

I am nearly not a working mother - from April I will be a SAHM with freelancy bits on the side. Had c/m problems and after thinking it all through I am going to stop working. Looking forward to it although it will be rather different.

Will try and post here more often .

JaamyBunny · 20/03/2008 10:40

Happy Easter Everyone!

Idris - snap! I have been a SAHM (with freelance bits and pieces) since Nov. Loving my extra time with the girls but don't seem to have any extra time for MN and other such indulgent things.

Wabbitt - lovely to hear new man going well. Think you deserve him.

Mummyhill - how are you sweetie. Sorry haven't been in touch for ages but I'm sure they've taken a couple of hours off each day.

Overrated - how goes it with you?

RH/MJD - is he as nice in RL as they say he is?

Well done to all the littlies making potty progress. A is potty trained (mostly) [smug mummy emoticon!!]. It is delightful to be able to go out without a nappy bag for the first time in 4 years.

It's lovely that both DDs are now playing together and entertaining each other. All looking forward to the appearance of the mystical Easter Bunny at the weekend.

Enjoy the choc-fest!

mummyhill · 21/03/2008 08:54

Congratulations but all the same a bit of you. As I'd still love another (one or two... or maybe 3!!! )

MrsJonnyDepp · 30/03/2008 11:57

Ahhh I see Wabbit - now I know!

Would love another child but I dont want to do the pregnancy bit!!!

mummyhill · 30/03/2008 22:21

Yeah you guessed it. Have told the family now so no worries. Only problem is after talking to a very close friend today it appears that in my panic I have my dates wrong and a little further along than I originally thought.

JaamyBunny · 30/03/2008 23:00

OMG - Mummyhill! BIG CONGRATULATIONS ! Stay well and take care. x

And very . TTC here and so far only managed a cp after 9 months of trying...any tips, MH?

JaamyBunny · 30/03/2008 23:01

so when are you due, MH?

mummyhill · 30/03/2008 23:13

14th November.

Tips stop trying and chill out.

Actually we weren't trying, I have been taking my pill religiously as we had decided to stop at the 2 we already have. Apparently though it isn't always as effective if you weigh over 11 stone. So we have been playing Russian roulette for 2.5 years without realizing and viola.

JaamyBunny · 31/03/2008 07:44

Sounds like a lovely name...voila!

Uncanny, you are now the third person I know who is due the same week as I wou ld have been...gonna be a busy November!

MrsJonnyDepp · 31/03/2008 17:07

Well done Mummyhill - what's your feeeling? - a boy or a girl? - not that you mind I'm sure! Or do you find boy/girls easier (Rachel is a breeze in comparison with her big brother!)

JaamyBunny - what happened? That must have been very upsetting?

mummyhill · 01/04/2008 08:37

Not a clue yet will wait and see. I am going for another surprise.
