Sept 05 babies - anyone else's destroying their house?

JoshandJamie · 07/02/2007 17:52

My 16 month/nearly 17 month old is systematically destroying our house. I literally cannot clear up one mess before he's made another. Today in the space of 30 minutes, he had got into three toilets and either pulled used paper out of them, shoved toys in them or used the loo brush to paint the walls.

He then got into the kitchen cupboard and got into the box of teabags and ripped them apart sprinkling the tea leaves on the floor.

He then walked into the hallway, reached up to the top of the telephone table (fairly high) and managed to knock off a VERY heavy glass vase so that it smashed into a million tiny shards (and remarkably walked away unhurt) and at the same time managed to smash the mini CD player underneath the vase.

While out at a soft play centre, he knocked over someone's cup of coffee, stole someone's lollipop and someone else's drink.

Once home, he dug up freshly planted bulbs and brought all the mud inside which he deposited in the kitchen cupboard.

Supper was smeared everywhere - I now have cous cous from floor to ceiling. And I won't even get started on what the toy room looks like.

In case you're wondering, I do keep an eye on him but have a 3 year old too and need to occassionally pee or get dressed. I feel like I am about to lose my mind. My house is a shit pit. I know I will spend hours clearing it up tonight only to have it destroyed again tomorrow.

Sorry for the moan. Just needed to get it off my chest instead of throttling the small chap. I know he's just exploring but my patience is wearing thin.

hi all, long time no "see"! hahaha hope everyone ok, mrsjohnnydepp, i'm guessing you are simplyred??? the rachel kinda gave me a clue lol, mia is doing really well, not interested in her potty though and she will be 3 in september, god, where has the time gone? Congrats to nall who are preggers again, and wabbit on your new man, could do with 1 of those myself, as you can prob guess, me and dp have been struggling for a while, and it is now officially over, no more trying for the kids sake. I have had such a shit year so far, lost my aunt who was 51 and 3 weeks ago, my grandad passed so as you can imagine don't need all this crap right now haha. Anyway enough of the morbid stuff, how is everyone and all their lovely babes???

MrsJonnyDepp · 05/05/2008 14:53

Hello Bubbles! Yes its me Simplyred. Rachel is good with her potty for wees - for the other forget it - she will hide and reappear after the event! I'm sorry to hear its been a bad year so far - I hope it brightens up.

Better go - the kids are having a scrap and Ive spent most of the last week alone as I'm an MBA Widow

wabbit · 08/05/2008 15:46

hi bubbles
so sorry to hear that things aren't going well for you this year... Isn't it amazing that our little ones are now inching towards 3!!!

I had my Ofsted inspection today, I was so stressed about it, all my uni work has been put on hold - feel so relieved it's now over and I'm deemed a 'satisfactory' foundation stage practitioner!!!

Hope we're all enjoying this beautiful weather!

MrsJonnyDepp · 08/05/2008 18:35

Well done wabbit. Thats great

The weather is lovely!

wabbit · 21/05/2008 18:08

Hello to all Sept 05ers... the run up now to our little ones 3rd birthdays

C's vocabulary is now coming on in leaps and bounds and he'll give anything a go (with malapropisms galore )

He's also beginning to get to grips with the potty - one drawback is I can't use pull ups as they leak everywhere around his skinny legs and eventually fall off his non-existant botty!! Thinking of taking the plunge and going big boy pant 'cold turkey'!!

Ive got a good few pics on my profile now if you want to have a nose at lovely (not so) new man... it'll be 6 months of uninterupted loveydoveyness on June 1st!!! (I'll allow you to get a bucket or sick bag if you really must wretch )

I've heaps of work to do for uni which is probably why I'm here avoiding it like the plague!!

Hope everyone else (especially you MH) is keeping well

Wabbit x

Hello Idris & Mummyhill hope things are good with you xxx

wabbit · 15/07/2008 19:23

Hello Conrad's going through a really bossy, weepy, unsleepy, not hungry phase. I was told by one of my Mums that it's usual for boys to get a testosterone surge at this age - have any of you heard of this?

I have started the Special K Slimmer for Summer 2 week challenge today.

will report in at next weigh in (not telling how much I weigh now !

Hope you're all well

MrsJonnyDepp · 16/07/2008 22:54

Hello!

I'm on the try not to eat very much plan - as I was asked if I was pregnant on Monday !!!!!!!!! Hope it works well Wabbit and you are not starving!

wabbit · 17/07/2008 23:57

Ah Ha!! Conrad incubating Chicken Pox and that's why he's been so out of sorts!

He's only got spots on his 'bits' and two on his neck and two on his back so far so let's hope he's going to get away with it lightly

Need him to look fairly spot free as we're visiting reletives at the weekend when I drive dd to T4 on the Beach on Sunday !!

Oh I have been starving today and made mahoosive salad for supper to fill me up... has worked a bit too well

Pregnant! well I get quite bloated just before AF and if not 'keeping my tummy in' look about 6 months gone!!

Hello btw xxx

MrsJonnyDepp · 18/07/2008 22:33

Hello!

Yes I was bloated and wearing very baggy clothes - but still

I have been good lossing weight this week. Hope Conrad is not itchy..

wabbit · 19/07/2008 14:51

Oh well done about weight loss, I have been good too but my weigh in on Tuesday will tell me if my efforts have been fruitful

Poor Conrad is now spotty boy - they're everywhere poor little lamb and today for the first time he's quite distraught with it

MrsJonnyDepp · 19/07/2008 21:50

Poor little lad - it is horrid being spotty and itchy especially on a warm night...

Have you heard from MummyHill?

mummyhill · 27/07/2008 16:41

Hi I am surviving.

Had a sudden OMG moment yeterday when I realised that it is only about 7 weeks till Davey turns 3 where on earth has the time gone?

Hope C is feeling much better now.

Any of you in the midlands on the 5th August come join us in sutton park at town gate we are meeting up between 12 and 1 for a picnic. Will add a link later but have to dash now as I am on my way into work!

MrsJonnyDepp · 13/08/2008 18:39

Hello mummyhill - yes coming up for 3 years old !!!

How is C - no more spots I hope.

mummyhill · 24/08/2008 09:22

How is everyone?

wabbit · 25/08/2008 14:34

Hi all - been very hectic here with trying to sort out my poorly mum, she has vertigo and it makes her very panicky thinking she's going to hit the deck at any moment and only her looking after my 93 year old pa... She's seeing a very capable consultant now and we're awaiting 'positional therapy' for her - fingers crossed it works

C's chicken pox ended up covering him from head to toe, the spots didn't seem to affect him too much but the aches and pains from it really got him down... but at least he's had it now and is unlikely to contract it again

Squidged in a weeks camping at my sister's place in Wales where we got well and truly drenched!

Hope you're well everyone - sorry I had to cancel on you and the picnic Mummyhill... we'll have to catch up another time x

mummyhill · 27/08/2008 10:01

Glad to hear C is ok and that your mum is being treated.
