Hello cheese - happy birthday for yesterday!

anna definitely get Grace checked as the frequency of feeds could indicate tongue tie too. Also I've only had pain feeding from one side, and it was fine to start - all got progressively worse so better to check sooner rather than later. You need a rest too! Xx

Bluebell20 · 23/08/2016 09:01

Ruby - it's silly isn't it! I can totally understand why things don't run over the summer - low attendance and so on - but what are those of us with summer squishes supposed to do?!

Primary - I can't believe he snoozes the alarm four times! I would have jettisoned it out the bedroom window!

Anna - Do you think grace is getting enough of the hind milk when she feeds? My Boob Guru told me that you know they've definitely got to the hind milk when they start doing the fluttery mouth thing. I think maybe Ru sometimes doesn't get that far because of his latch? I actually noticed he had a v watery green poo in the night, which can be a sign on too much fore milk, so I may have switched him on to the other breast too soon. I went and pumped the first breast after he was done with the next feed, and got nearly 50ml, which I fed to him with the feed after that. I think the nipple shields are perhaps making him pull off earlier than he normally would. Though I am just guessing! Are you using shields?

julf - yes I got rather sweaty in the close caboo yesterday! But I got sweaty using a cotton ring sling too. I think it might be the nature of holding a big warm sack of spew and poo against your front!!!

Sunday - I have a Medela electric single. I have been catching the let down from the 'free' boob in a sterile cup! Must buy some breast shells today... My boob guru told me that I don't need to sterilise every time I use the pump - just sterilise it once a day and wash it in hot soapy water between uses. I am a tad germ obsessive at the mo so not sure how I feel about that!

Cheese - what a cute babe! Happy belated birthday!

Indians - what was it that meant it took a week for things to settle post tongue tie? Was it your soreness healing, or was it reteaching Hallie how to latch?

We've had a better night going back to the breast, although it is still a bit pinchy ouchy, even through the shield! I am just going to have to endure it until Thursday when his tongue tie gets done.

Started using the Cheeky Wipes kit instead of cotton wool yesterday. They are lovely! And it is so nice to not have grotty strings of cotton wool cobwebbed all over his little bum and balls! If you use wet wipes, what do you use to dry your babies' bums after wiping them clean though? I've been using cotton hankies!

Off to baby massage this afternoon for the first time. I've heard they sleep really well after so I have my fingers crossed for a late arvo snooze!

Anna - yay! This is the website - www.lcgb.org

I think it's so worth trying to get some help if you're struggling because with any luck, it might make the next few months so much nicer.

I hope you don't mind me jumping in on the foremilk/hind milk thing, but I found this link interesting:

AnnaT45 · 23/08/2016 10:06

I did consider it cheery but she's doing plenty of wet and dirty nappies and is going weight. So it feels like ages getting enough?

Thanks blue she's def getting Hind milk as she's literally on me for hours. Her pops is mustard colour and getting thicker by the day. It's so hard as didn't have this with dd1 so at a loss! In going to see how today goes and go from there! X

Argh I keep slipping off the thread. Must try harder. The children are back at school next week so I may get better. Although DH is going to be working away for 8 weeks.

Love all the photos. What a gorgeous bunch are babies are.

Primary Annie looks gorgeous. Monty-Beau is wearing the same outfit today.

Julfin so sorry to see you've been having a tough time of it but pleased that you are getting the help and support you need. Please keep posting and sharing everything with us. Getting it all written down is very cathartic.

Bluebell sorry to her about feeding problems. I hope things improve greatly once the tongue tie is sorted.

Re sleeping. We keep M downstairs with us until we go up. From tonight though I'm trying a new routine. Bath, bottle and bed with projector and lullabies on. This will be his routine every night now.

Eliz wow to getting to watch a whole film. Lucky lady. Thanks for asking after me. It's been a tough few weeks. Although nothing compared to some. Between DHs two ops and Monty-Beaus reflux I haven't had time to even look at the thread. However, DH is back to work next week (phew as we need the money) and the children are back to school/nursery. Hopefully I'll get more time to post.

Anna let that grief out. I still feel pretty hormonal. So I can't even begin to imagine how you must feel. You are amazingly strong.

Doing ok here. We had a lovely break to the seaside last week. I can't wait for some time to enjoy Monty-Beau once the house is empty next week. The past six weeks have passed in a blur.
Sorry to anyone I haven't mentioned. Please let me know of anything huge I've missed. Also big welcome to the newbies. Sorry it's not a great hello bit typing this quickly before I head to the shop to pick up BBQ supplies, meds for DH and gaviscon for M Grin. Never a dull moment here.

6+4

Speak that link is fab, thank you, and makes sense because I have a lot of milk and Ruben seems hungry very often so may be getting an awful lot! He is back to mustard poos now so maybe it was just a one off. Glad to know you don't have to overthink the milk mix. Although I do wish there was just one school of thought and not different theories all over the place as it is very confusing! Xx

What lovely hair she has! All the babies are so amazingly cute.

socktastic · 23/08/2016 18:11

Sorry I've been absent lately - must try harder. What a bunch of bonnie babies we have!

My mil came to stay and has fucked up routine. she seems obsessed with rocking him to sleep so his routine is totally out of kilter. So right now I have a snoozing baby in my arms after a whole half hour of screaming. So either he thinks it's bedtime or he will take an hour or so nap then not go to bed till late! She's also reorganised my living room with the "I thought this would be a better place for this". Whilst I love her coming down to babysit - dh and I got to go out for dinner last night - I feel like she just takes over. She's lovely and I know would be devastated if I even suggested it.

I can sense a sleepless night coming on.

beckslovestimmy · 23/08/2016 18:28

Blue I've never dried either of my babies bums after using a wet wipe and never had a problem. I guess the nappy dries it really.

Indians - amazing. I can't wait for Thursday! I guess it might be hard for him to relearn at six weeks, but any improvement will be welcome!

Flossie - Rose is soooooo gorgeous. Like a little doll!

Sock - argh, how annoying! If she is trying to be helpful then it is really awkward! Hope you sleep okay.

Becks - thank you for that! The mysteries of child rearing!

Well, Ru just slept for 3.5 hrs, fed for 30 mins, and out like a light again. I've had to pump from one side because I was so full! Such a relief as he was cluster feeding all afternoon - I spent baby massage feeding him on a sofa, watching everyone else massage their babies! Grr. He loved the moving coloured disco lights at baby massage though - I might have to get one of those!

Monty-Beau has just slept for 7 and a half hours. So last feed was at 6pm. It's the second night he has managed this. Now I just need to figure out how to move that feed forward a bit.

Cheery1 · 24/08/2016 01:59

Aw gorgeous babies!

Ha! bluebell that sounds exactly like our first baby massage class. Teacher kept saying "now everyone do....., Catherine and Maurice you can watch..."! Second class was better, so hopefully you'll get to join in next time x

Cheery1 · 24/08/2016 02:02

indians - you're giving me hope that things can get better feeding wise. Mo is 6 weeks and just been diagnosed with tt. Hoping we can turn it around!

Anna - Mo feeding well and I think putting on weight ok (weigh in tomorrow after 2 weeks and fine so far), it's just length of feeds and pain that took me to my Boob Guru....x

Cheery1 · 24/08/2016 02:04

Soooo hot here! Currently feeding in a puddle of sweatiness, yuck!

Cheery1 · 24/08/2016 02:05

Maurice in action!
