Hopefully this works...

So we can keep in touch and pass on words of wisdom!

Perhaps someone clever could link to the stats?

Ruby - such a cute pic!!!

Bluebell20 · 09/08/2016 10:28

Crap, I just lost a massive post :( morning all!!!

Cheery1 · 09/08/2016 10:29

Oooops posted too early! Glad it's not just me with lazy relatives. It's more annoying as they come with promise of helping, ha! 'Help' is not shushing baby so he's awake all night - totally agree flossie - and waiting for me to make you cups of tea and bring you food! Costing us a fortune in bloody biscuits too! Did noone get the memo about bringing food to new parents....? I've donated many a homemade quiche over the years to friends with newborns...I want my karmic quiche now!!!!!?

Cheery1 · 09/08/2016 10:33

dats you're a marvel! God that NCT woman who told me I should enjoying breastfeeding can do one right??!!! Currently Mo asleep on less sore nip as only place he'll settle since 1am is in range of boob. Enjoyable....not so much.... I'm developing a hunchback as well from shoving boobs in tiny pursed mouth trying to avoid agony of nipple biting.

Happy Tuesday ladies!

Cheery1 · 09/08/2016 10:34

blue I hate it when that happens! X

Bluebell20 · 09/08/2016 11:05

Ta floss, Elliz and ruby for not thinking I am being unreasonably irritable! Yes Ruby I couldn't believe he woke me up when there was 125ml of expressed milk in the fridge! After he has told me over and over again that unless I express he can't help, too! I couldn't speak to him about it at the time - I was too pissed off and didn't want to row - but I will have a conversation about it this evening to prevent it from happening again.

Elliz, major spice rack envy. I love the colour of it too. I am a spice fiend and bulk buy from Asian supermarkets, then decant into Kilner jars which are rammed higgeldy piggeldy on some open shelves. Feeling inspired to sort them now!

Cheery I am furious about your visitors! I just realised that my MIL washed my kitchen windows when she cleaned the kitchen on Sat! And my bro and his fiancée cleaned up after lunch yesterday and wouldn't let us help. It was lovely.

Ruby, I am also with you, to the point that I feel massively resentful when a visitor rocks my baby to sleep as it means I don't ha e the opportunity to sleep at the same time! I purposely wake Ruben up in the day sometimes by changing his nappy!

Becks and ruby, lovely photos.

Dats I cannot believe you are going to paint a ceiling. You are a bloody hero.

Ruben has been straining in his sleep all night. I have tried to sleep through quite a lot of it because winding him seems to make no difference and I ended up deciding that as his eyes were closed and he wasn't crying I might as well get some interrupted dozing in.

Rubytuesday2980 · 09/08/2016 11:23

Well done ladies, no longer feeling like an unreasonably angry person, clearly the rest of the world are idiots.

cheery, are you actually able to see inside my head today?!

dats keep the scales. Pancakes, you say? Nom.
Now have an image of a one handed chicken brandishing a paint brush, amazing.

Have a good day all, eat all the biscuits and have fun with those awake babies (and keep both pleasures away from ungrateful visitors, ha!)

primarynoodle · 09/08/2016 11:30

I can top your lazy relatives - MIL actually generously offered to come round and "hold the baby" while I "get on with the housework" ERRR WHAT AngryAngryAngryAngryAngryAngryAngry

Loving that tiger outfit becks! And ruby what a lovely smile :)

Anyone else still waiting impatiently for the first smile? Starting to think she doesn't like me!

Found this gem from when she was 2 days old that my sister in law took - now that's an 'I want milk' face!

Primary my DH got the first smile and my mum got the second one.

Not me, the one that carried her for 9 months, endured major surgery to ensure her safe arrival, gets up multiple times in the night, feeds her with milk made by my own body, rocks her to sleep in the sling in 25 degree heat. Oh no, not me. DH gets the first smile. I'm not bitter, not at all Grin

primarynoodle · 09/08/2016 11:51

Grounds for divorce methinks flossie!

Or at the very least Wine oh wait we can't have that either

Bluebell20 · 09/08/2016 12:31

Cheery, I frequently think vicious thoughts about your NCT woman while Ruben is latching on!!!

I just discovered that MIL also washed out and resorted our rather crumby and dusty cutlery divider. There is no end to her helpfulness!

Decided I'm not going to bother showering or dressing today. Not until DH gets home from work. I'm going to intersperse sleeping with feeding Rubes while watching New Blood. And I'm very happy about it. Especially as this morning I ordered a load of personalised baby thank you cards, and replied to two work emails, and unloaded the dishwasher. Productivity done with for the day! Back to being a milk machine!

socktastic · 09/08/2016 12:38

bluebell Adam does the straining thing too. I'm learning to sleep through it. When he's properly awake he'll let me know!

I wonder if the reason people want babies to sleep is that it means they're quiet. I'm happy to entertain my awake baby all day if that means a peaceful night sleep!

The only reason I'm using my scales at the moment is to weigh the wee man. I'll go on the scales then go on again with him and work it out from there. I'm quite lucky though in that I'm only a few pounds heavier than my pre pregnancy weight. Don't know how I've managed that! I was doing sw before falling pregnant and I was still at stone and a half away from my target weight. I don't think I'm quite ready to resume yet - I don't have time to cook!!

HV was round today. He did so well with his gross motor tests and is up at 9lb 11oz! And she wasn't a judgemental bitch this time!!

Ellizardo · 09/08/2016 15:55

Dats - you do crack me up. Especially your word fusion or woosion as I like to call it.

To all the spice nerds out there and especially those with bastard tins of smoked paprika, I salute you! Not that I've cooked anything for weeks now...

Here's Claudia at 5 weeks tomorrow!

Bluebell20 · 09/08/2016 17:00

Awh Elliz, she is so beautiful! I have cooked one meal - a big tasty curry - since giving birth. I cooked lots so that I could freeze it. And then I left it out overnight accidentally and had to chuck it :(

Sock, glad I'm not the only one ignoring (or trying to ignore) the straining!

Lord alive I am so hungry. I am finding it v hard to prepare decent lunches when I'm on my own. I may invest in a load of freezable soups and bread rolls. Any other ideas for low prep healthy lunches? X

Rubytuesday2980 · 09/08/2016 17:16

Eliz that is a gorgeous picture.

Bluebell high five for the not getting dressed, am aiming for one of those days every week, bliss.
So far, for weekday lunches, I have eaten:
Several strange 'fridge picnics', whatever I can put my hands and eat quickly, mainly houmous and/or cheese.
Several cafe lunches as couldn't be arsed or fridge was empty.
One leftover curry, v proud of myself for heating this up, but sixth sense baby smelt it and woke up, so still eaten cold.
One actual meal of cooked falafel and salad, still haven't worked out what happened that day, or how to repeat it...

socktastic · 09/08/2016 17:21

Lunch wise, I buy the John west tuna light lunches - 2 for £3 from asda but this really isn't a long term solution. I struggle with breakfasts too.
Dinners as well to be honest!

AnnaT45 · 09/08/2016 19:22

Who are these visor it's not pulling their weight?! Boot them out! MIL popped in today to take all the ironing. Legend!

eliz I love the spice rack! I want one! Claudia is a beaut!

primary that pic is priceless!! Makes me really giggle.

ruby happy one month old!! Goes so fast doesn't it?

dats you're superwoman! How did painting go?

cheery cluster feeding is the worse part of all of this. It doesn't seem to stop. Have you got an iPad or tv? I just watch box sets to keep me going.

I'm seriously impressed with all these diets. Grace feeds so much I'm bloody starving all the time. Still losing weight though so win win! Can't believe she is one week already!! Here she is celebrating the milestone by getting off her face on milk and passing out on me Smile

Square centimetres of ceiling painted: 0
Nappies of poo: 7
Feeds: 378
Hours spent extracting wind: 6.72
Ravaged boobage: 2
Minutes of sleep pre 5pm before crashing out just as we had to pick up DD from nursery: 37
Custard creams consumed: 11
Elbows that feel like they've been whacked with a mallet: 1
Offspring currently asleep: 2

I am fucking exhausted! The boy child was a relentless circle of feed/wind/puke/wind/change/wind today! I got as far as bringing the paint indoors and that was it! Managed to do all the washing up and laundry but flippin eck! These babies just steal hours - couldn't believe where the day went!

His longest sleep was about 20min, so I was able to make and eat lunch. Bluebell am I right in thinking you're veggie? Have you had Taifun smoked tofu? Today for lunch I had pea shoots, with the above tofu, beetroot, hummus and dill. It was lovely. And then I ate loads of biscuits Grin

All these beauteous girl babies! And their beauteous sleepsuits!

Flossiesmummy · 09/08/2016 21:29

Today has been good. I sent DH out for a haircut and had a lovely morning pottering around.

Can't believe Rose is five weeks on Thursday!

beckslovestimmy · 09/08/2016 21:49

Flossie I love Rose's dress. Very cute!

Anna grace looks so chilled, love the babygro

Elliz Claudia is so pretty.

Primary what a funny photo, one to keep for the 18th birthday!

Ruby what a cutie, happy one month birthday!

primarynoodle · 09/08/2016 21:54

What a beautiful bunch of photos! Anna I can't believe that's Grace at 1 week! She looks so human, Annie was like a shrivelled prune for at least a fortnight!!

Dats your posts always make me laugh Grin and now Im craving a custard cream...

Here's my 5 weeker, looking a little more civilised than in the last photo Wink

Ruby hot falafel and salad?! Super jealous of that, you miracle worker!

sock I think ready made lunches, though expensive, are very helpful while getting to grips with a small new being!

Anna Grace is such a cutie!

dats yup I am veggie, and officially starving having read your lunch description. I need to get me some hummous. And I'm thinking maybe a solution would be to make a couple of different salads (eg leafy salad and bean salad) to last a couple of days in the fridge, that I can help myself to as and when. I have not had that tofu but shall be getting my hands on some asap! Sorry you didn't have a very productive day, but because I am a terrible person I am also secretly relieved. It helps to justify my extremely low daily objectives. If you had painted that ceiling, I might have had to reevaluate my own expectations of what I should be achieving!

Pic of Ruben attached as I've not uploaded one in a while. I love love love his awake phases.

Bluebell20 · 09/08/2016 23:05

Oh loads of posts happened while I was slowly composing that!

Flossie loving Rose's outfit and I still can't get over her hair!

primary I hear ya on the shrivelled prune - Ruben had dragon scales as well! Annie is looking adorably chubby.

I attach a pic of the incredible chocolate cake my lovely neighbour brought round earlier. It has edible iridescent glitter atop it. Could not be more fabulous. So excited about nailing a slice at 3am...

Lack of forward planning. Feeding babe... Chocolate digestives are at the other side of the room Sad

Bluebell20 · 10/08/2016 04:48
