yoo hoo! Mzzzf! I need your help!
As you know I had/have SPD and split abs (diastasis recti I think it's called)
Anyways, I've been doing exercises to try and fix this and my stomach doesn't "dome" as much when sitting, which I presume is a good thing, but these last couple of days, I've had cramps just under my boobs around the ribs. Is this the musckes trying to right themselves? Or something else? Confused

MaGratgarlik1983 · 16/01/2016 15:46

Yesssss morning nap in the cot with minimal fuss!!!! Afternoon one was in pram but...a big achievement I reckon!!

Tindel · 16/01/2016 16:16

Hello all, not posted for a bit, but have rotten cold and just feeling a bit sorry for myself at the moment.

magrat hurrah for cot nap! We manage those so rarely - J is currently asleep in the sling on DH while he plays Xbox. As he refused to sleep between 4am and 7am this morning, I figure he could do with the sleep (as could I, frankly!)

Fanby · 16/01/2016 17:09

BOOKED A HOLIDAY WOOOOHOOOO!!

Any tips for flying with a baby?! Hmm

kbro79 · 16/01/2016 17:22

Oh congrats indeed on a cot nap. Our progress on this was DS napping on our bed this morning next to me and not on me. It's the same room as the cot so does that count???
Interesting what you were saying about your routine. I do think I really miss Aidan's tired cues. We seem to go from happy to over tired v quick. Will try looking out for the gazing. Maybe that will help.

Tindel DS just had a sling nap in the pub. Brew for you for being up so much.

DS of course was up loads but not ever hour so that's now a win in my mind. He's also had a suck on some cucumber. Although he looked more bemused by it than anything.

Ikea high chair - does it fold down? We are space poor!!

Fanby where to???? We've booked to go to Spain on the ferry!!!

Fanby · 16/01/2016 17:27

Kbro - Ooooh ferry sounds so fun! Where abouts in Spain? We're off to Tenerife!

Ikea high chair doesn't fold down but the surface area isn't as big as some highchairs if that makes sense?! Without the tray clipped on its actually pretty small, let me see if I have a pic so you can see it next to something for size relation...

Ps - excellent progress on nappage x

sianihedgehog · 16/01/2016 17:31

The legs also pop off the Ikea high chair if you need to put it away. It takes up about as much space as a regular chair really.

sianihedgehog · 16/01/2016 17:36

Ikea high chair pics for scale. Excuse the crumbs everywhere, toddlers eating cake yesterday made a bit of mess!

Woo for holidays! We booked Iceland for June but still need a passport for DS! A road trip with a ten month old will be interesting!!

MaGratgarlik1983 · 16/01/2016 18:01

V jealous of your kitchen siani it's red!

Fanby · 16/01/2016 18:11

Love your kitchen Siani - and there's your cat too Grin

Magrat - love Iceland! Went to Reykjavik last feb, so beautiful! We just got Molly's passport, only took 3 working days to come through!!

sianihedgehog · 16/01/2016 18:44

Thanks Fanby and Magrat! Kitchen was the only room in the house that was actually properly decorated when we moved in! It's a bit marmite, we love the red but my mum sort of looked and said "it's very red, isn't it? Are you keeping it?"

Very jealous of Iceland, I'd love to go! Me and DP have never been abroad together at all, but we're probably going to visit my family in Canada this summer.

mzzzf · 16/01/2016 18:56

Yes yes to ikea high chair. Also love he support cushion too!!

FATTY
Well done on the exs. Lack of 'done' is good!! Rib pain can be many things. It'll either be issues with the rib joints themselves or with the relationship between the ribs/diaphragm/ab muscles. Either way you can't do a whole load about it apart from painkillers. Have you noticed if your back size on your bra has decreased at all recently?! Does it hurt more when you breathe in or out?
Arrrgh its really hard to tell what's happening without physically assessing you but do not stop with your prescribed exercises!!

Try some stretches in the meantime to keep mobile. Stretches are the enemy of cramps 😁

The easiest way to stretch out your ribs is to take a huge deep breath and hold it for a few seconds.

Fanby · 16/01/2016 19:46

Siani - red is good!! In that case, ours is very 'white' Wink! I'd love, love, love to go to Canada. Definitely one for my to do list!!

We've just ordered a dominoes HURRAH!! x

Frolicacid · 16/01/2016 20:00

Evening all!
Happy birthday peachy 🍑🎈🍹🎂
I'm just enjoying 5 minutes peace and a double decker while dh does nappy and pj's. Rock N' roll Saturday night chez frolic.
We've had a nice day, mostly mooching, but also with a big beach walk.
Food is going really well. Just little tastes, but he's getting well into it. Today's hit was avocado. Big smiles all round 🙂

We have a baby who does good intense looks / serious face as well magrat. Jumperoo and swimming seem to bring it out the most.
Try some fruit purée in with the rice maybe? That's working here.

Enjoy your break clstow.

My lord fanby!! I think I'm in love! What a cutie. I'm totally digging the colour coordinating going on with the bag, mat and trunki. Glad she enjoyed it. I hope it buys you some sleep.
Where are you going in Tenerife?

Get well soon tindel 💐

Love the red kitchen siani (and the cute baby).

Very envious of all your holiday talks. We're aiming for a break in Tenby with the dog and boy in the spring.

I hope everyone has had a fab Saturday 🙂

Fanby · 16/01/2016 20:10

Oooooh frolic haven't had a double decker in years!! Yum yum!!
Beautiful day for a beach walk, it was very frosty this morning, I really do wonder if we'll wake up to snow tomorrow?!
Avocado was not enjoyed yesterday when I had some in a salad and let her try it :( silver linings though, I love avo so glad I didn't have to share ;).
We're off to Costa adeje, have never been before. I didn't mind where we went as long as it had a heated pool ( total princess but I'm a cold water wuss!) as it beginningish of feb that we're off so won't be that hot.
Yes, lots of orange lol! DH's fave colour and be picked everything haha!! xx

FattyNinjaOwl · 16/01/2016 20:14

Thank you mzzzf my bras don't seem as tight they were very tight before I thought that was because I'm losing weight though! Grin I will definitely keep up with the exercises, I am in a lot less pain now which is good. I will try stretching. Thank you.

Frolicacid · 16/01/2016 20:25

I can totally confirm that double deckers are bloody lovely fanby. Especially so, as I've not had any chocolate all week .
Costa adeje is really nice - we went a few years back. The hotel was lovely - very child friendly. It pissed us right off at the time as we thought we'd booked out of school holidays, but it seemes Scotland and Italy were on theirs. We were both saying only today that we'd go back with Ds.
I doubt we'll get snow as we are right on the coast, but the mountains here are already covered. So pretty.

Well done on the weight loss fatty. I'm hoping that I've managed a few pounds this week as well.

He's snoring so I'm going to attempt to go and watch some tv with dh. Please let him not wake up as soon as I leave the room 🙏🏻

Fanby · 16/01/2016 20:37

Oh sounds so gorgeous!! Can't beat a snow capped peak! Snow in London is crap anyway turns to slush in no time...

That's really good to know! The original hotel we liked was fully booked by the time we got around to booking but this one looks lovely too. We went to Lanzarote when I was pregnant which was my first jaunt to the canaries!

I've just put DD in her cot too, going to enjoy a bit of tv and sofa schlomping in peace (fingers crossed)!

Can't believe you've managed no choc all week!!! Halo indeed!!

mzzzf · 16/01/2016 20:46

Fatty - it may well be done inflammation as your ribs get back into their normal shape due to exs, weight loss and the level of hormones that cause loose ligaments wears off around the 5 ish month mark.

Fanby - she's such a cuties glad the swimming went well.
Dozy - double dekkers are phenom!!! God I want one NOW! And Tenby is lush!! Very good family friends have holiday cottages nearby so we get mates rates 😁

Happy birthday peachy!
And whoever is out partying tonight enjoy!!!

I'm doing the dark room bedtime thing right now. Been a busy day as we've mega snow, so we thought a walk in the trossachs woods would be good - see piccies We got back a little later than ideal so she's a bit pooped and has been a little bit of a fidget arse to settle tonight.

I also managed to venture out with the sling and two dogs for an hours hilly walking - nightly self smug that is managed it but the weather yesterday was stunning. Cold crisp and sunny!! (Last pic)

We're planning to get away at Easter to my dads. He lives in Cyprus so it'll be awesome having family around! Just a 5 and a bit hour flight to contend with a wriggling baby then!! Any tips from the seasoned mummas?

Anyone else feeling a little more in control right now?! I mean I know we still have super crap nights and other general shittiness but on the whole I feel like I'm doing this a bit better. Maybe my sensitive has worn off, maybe she's a bit more robust - I don't know. Either way I like the feeling of thinking "ok we can do this" 🙂

Happy Saturday you lovely bunch of lovelies!

Evening all

Fanby wohoo for spontaneity! My dh takes a lot of persuading to go on holiday, he's a workaholic Hmm so sometimes I go on holiday with my parents. We took dd1 to Costa Adeje a couple of years ago, take a bucket and spade and build sandcastles Grin it's very nice there. On the plane the changes in pressure can cause pain especially on take off and landing for babies, so my tip is to bf Mollie at those times as swallowing will release the pressure. We took lots of baby books/toys etc to distract, also keep her awake at the airport so she's really tired and sleeps on the plane Wink also big nappy to avoid changing her in the tiny aeroplane toilets unless you're unlucky and she poos.

tindel sorry to hear you're poorly, there are lots of colds and viruses going round in this freezing weather!

I'm very happy today as I've moved house so no longer living out of a suitcase waiting for the sale to go through and my things are out of storage, hooray! It's bliss to be able to put all mine and the dcs clothes in drawers and wardrobes again, hooray!

Giraffescandance1 · 16/01/2016 20:56

mzzf that is beautiful! I love your dogs!

loveandsmiles · 16/01/2016 21:02

fanby ooohhhh so exciting to have a holiday to look forward to. I think babies are the easiest to travel with. All of my DC in the past when babies have siept. Longest I have done flying with a baby is Florida - bf / bottle for take off / landing to help with ears popping. Two summers ago we did the longest ferry / road trip we've ever done to Holland with 5 DC - toddler was a baby then and she slept most of the time and other DC slept / watched movies - we did stop a lot too.

Yes, yes, yes to IKEA high chairSmile. When I had DD1 I had the most expensive high chair that tipped/folded/rocked and had fancy covers - absolute nightmare to clean - food got into places you would never even imagine - IKEA so easy to wipe - you can even put tray in dishwasher - no crevices for food to get stuck in and it doesn't take up too much room even thou it doesn't fold - super cheap too and it lasts - been used by numerous DC - highly recommended!! I can't believe all your clever babies sitting up - babyloves is nowhere near managing this yet.

Hope you had a lovely birthday peachy🎈🍰

We have a sprinkling of snow here. DD3 had a party to go to today at a farm park - bloody freezing - they did some pottery in the barn then fed the goats and chickens followed by lunch. Babyloves and I sat in the cafe and I caught up on the gossip with the other mums and ate cake - lovely afternoonGrin

mzzzf · 16/01/2016 22:19

That sounds like an ace afternoon Loves!!

Thought I'd put this on here for a giggle. The original has been doing the rounds on Facebook, but this one has been annotated by the Unmumsey Mum - brilliant!

Wow! Baby frolic let me go downstairs 🙂 I managed 1 eastenders and 1 1/2 episodes of making a murderer. And he's still snoring. I should have slept earlier as he's bound to wake soon, but fuck it - I had some adult time. Whoop!

I hope you managed a bit of sofa time too fanby.

Very jealous of your friends with Tenby benefits mzzf. Lovely, lovely pooch and snow photos.
I actually feel less in control now than any other point since Ds was born 😮 He was such a fab little thing for the first 3 months. Eat, sleep, shit, repeat. Now he sleeps like shit, has painful teething, needs entertaining, won't have a bottle etc, etc. I constantly feel like I'm getting it wrong.
Cyprus is lovely. We had our honeymoon there. Dh was flying a lot for work at the time and didn't want to go long haul. I was a bit gutted about not going to the tropics, but then we had the most amazing 2 weeks in a secluded villa. All we did was eat and get pissed - bliss!

Happy new house giraffes.

Coffe, cake and gossip is the perfect combo loves.

Goodnight hugabeans! Here's to a quiet Saturday night at the bar.
