mzzzf we are doing the same as frolic on the rare occasions it is even remotely possible with J fighting sleep as much as he does.

On a more cheerful note, we have just discovered tickling J under the armpits really makes him giggle! Grin Almost makes up for the fact he's cluster fed for the past few hours Hmm

kbro79 · 08/02/2016 20:39

Mzzzf trying for baby at end of the year??!!!! You go girl!!!

Yep the same as frolic. Nothing makes for good contraception as a 6 month old in your bed. But otherwise condoms. But also slightly get the fear too.

Clstow · 08/02/2016 20:51

I'm still here, just really struggling with the baby-work-housework balance so not been posting. Feel like I'm failing at the moment. DS is having shocking nights and I'm so nackered from work. DP is amazing and is doing a great job of looking after us but he's also exhausted and I feel guilty he's having to do so much.

Enough of that though...

I'm on the mini pill, which I was on before, and still haven't had a period even though I stopped BF ages ago.

Kbro, glad to hear Woburn is good, realised we are going in a couple of weeks! Got any top tips? Did they provide a high chair or cot?

Rra Chocolate and Flowers for you. Hope there's someone you can talk to irl x

Sorry can't remember anything else and alarm is set for 4 as I'm on an early tomorrow so need to sleep but please don't all disappear. Need you Mugabeans in my life.

P.S Does anyone here do bullet journaling? Am wondering if it's the magic solution to my current disorganisation. Or at least an excuse to buy some well nice notebooks 🤓

randomsabreuse · 08/02/2016 21:20

Mzzf we also are using the tiredness, constant lurgies and frequent separate rooms methods of contraception - wouldn't be a tragedy if I got pregnant again though...

Haven't been very active as DH has had a cough since November and constant colds on top so he's been managing work and not much else until I succumbed to the lurgy last night. I have never been so glad that I'm still breastfeeding as I was this morning lying in bed dizzy, cold, and full of snot with F next to me or on top when latched on. No way would I have been able to make up a bottle - had to crawl back from the loo! DH had to work but at least he did the first nappy of the day for me.

Much more human now thank goodness.

Also struggling to post much as my phone seems to like crashing midway through an epic!

Clstow we use wunderlist app. Easy to share lists with others - my phone is less likely to get forgotten than a paper thing although tiny pudgy fingers can still do damage

Dozygirl · 08/02/2016 22:51

I'm still loitering just finding it difficult to keep up. Struggling with general life at the moment but won't bore u with the details. Just general being a grown up and new mummy stuff getting the the better of me.

Yes to time hop depressing u. Pics of Egypt from last year came up and I remember thinking i was chubby then but I actually looked alright compared to now. Off to a ball on Saturday and wearing a dress I wore just before I got pregnant. It's stretchy so fits me still but I definitely don't look as good in it. Ordered a pashmina to cover my arms. Never worn before. Not keen on them but less keen on my arms being on show so it'll do.

Facebook group is slightly easier to keep up with because of the different topics being separated and being able to put names to faces.

No contraception here not even condoms but to get my dp to finish the deed so to speak takes a lot of effort and energy so attempts so far have come to nothing. Have tried but never finished so no chance of a surprise pregnancy here. I'm not sure when I want the next baby whether it's sooner or later so just going to take my chances and if by some.miracle we dtd and something happens then so be it. No periods yet here so doubt anything will happen anyway.

FattyNinjaOwl · 08/02/2016 23:03

I'm still here. Just been super busy with poorly DC.
Contraception: I'm on the pill plus condoms. DP will be getting the snip. No more for me thank you.

I didn't even know there was a fb group. Confused

Tindel · 09/02/2016 04:57

Sounds like everyone is having a tough time at the moment, for various reasons. Am making my umpteenth appearance at the bar tonight, so am having drinks for all of you.

I have no idea what has happened to J, but he is still feeding lots and often and waking more at night. Really hoping this is a short-lived thing, particularly combined with the fact he is taking ages to settle back down afterwards.

Cheers mugabeans, hope it gets better for those of us who are struggling right now.

fatty I didn't know about the fb group either Smile

loveandsmiles · 09/02/2016 06:30

Happy Pancake Day🍘🍘😀. Got up even earlier than usual and have made a lovely stack of pancakes for DCs breakfast and tasted them off course A great start to the day Smile

mzzzf I can't believe minimzzzf standing - kbro I have a lazy baby too!!

frolic 6 hrs is just wonderful - hope it's continuing. Did you enjoy swimming? There was a really strange lady in the pool when we went yesterday - she kept looking at babyloves and toddler but not chatty or smiley - then she grabbed babyloves and asked if she could hold her - I am not at all precious about people holding the baby but NO - we we kind off having a tug of war with her - I said no really firmly and moved away dragging toddler who found this exchange fascinating - most strange?! There are a couple of older ladies there every week who always offer to help but they are really chatty and friendly and I genuinely appreciate them holding toddlers hand etc whilst I get organised but not this strange lady.

House cleaning on the agenda today and more pancake eating!! - nothing very exciting. Schools off on half term hols tomorrow.......

mzzzf · 09/02/2016 07:28

The FB group was set up in the first few weeks of the original August babies thread and loads of folk decamped over there. Fatty I'm sure dozy or Fanby can give more details.
Would a mugabes FB group even work? I do like the thread though...

YES to pancakes Loves!!! I may well have to partake later 😁😁

And a big boo to all the though times. I think there's no need to worry about replying to previous thread entries to be able to 'earn' writing about yourself. Just have a whinge, moan, rant all by yourself. This is THE place to get unconditional support with no judgement only buenos, fist bumps and box set recommendations!! 🤓

It was an ish night with mini mzzzf. Nothing amazing but not at its worst either. I must be nuts thinking about number 2! My theory is to try after Christmas as I kinda want to get all the shitty sleepless stuff over and done with rather than getting lured into proper sleep again and then having to 'newborn' it. God, can you imagine if I get a good sleeper next time?! I won't know what to do with myself!!!!!
Happy shroud Tuesday folks, go forth and get shriven!! 😁

Urgh! 6 hours was a 3 day wander! We cluster fed loads last night. My boobs and me are exhausted.

Cheers tindel 🍷
Giggles are the best. We have to blow bubbles in the water in swimming lessons and it makes Ds chuckle like nothing else. Super cute.

💐☕️ clstow. Working must be so tough if sleep isn't forthcoming.
No idea what bullet journaling is, but I do love me some pretty stationary.

I hope you feel better soon random.

Sorry you are having a tough time dozy. We are always here if you need to offload.

Chuck us a pancake loves?
Swimming was great. Ds is getting very confident and doing lots of splashing.
The lady at your pool sounds weird. Always trust your gut on things like that.

Right - almost time for the first nap of the day. Hopefully sleep beckons for me too.

Happy Tuesday augabeans -I'm glad you're all still here 🙂

FattyNinjaOwl · 09/02/2016 08:39

Nathan has figured out he can bounce on me. It's his new favourite game, pushing himself with his legs so he stands up, then letting himself fall. He's not as strong as minimzzzf though, he's too heavy to hold his own weight for too long I think 😂

He did enjoy his pancakes this morning though.

Joskar · 09/02/2016 08:40

Trying at the end of this year would give you a 2 year gap. That's what I have. Dd1 was a shocking sleeper but she got loads better. She slept til 7.30 this morning. Hurrah!

Chance would be a fine thing for dtd! It's my birthday soon. You definitely get to do it on your birthday, eh?! Otherwise condoms and counting. I used counting for the last seven years.

kbro79 · 09/02/2016 10:19

Think the facebook group passed me by too. Although I didn't do the ante natal thread plus DS was supposed to be a July baby. I love this thread though and at the start think it probably helped that it was anonymous. Now wouldn't mind at all.

I know what you mean mzzzf about trying for baby soon. Something about doing it when your 'in the zone' with the baby stuff. However I want one christmas where I am not pregnant or breastfeeding (assuming by christmas I've found another way to get DS to sleep)

Clstow am sure you are far from failing. Think everyone finds the first few weeks tough. will probably just take time while you adjust to everything. Centre Parcs had cots and high chairs although we didn't know and lugged our stuff there. The cot was fine but DS doesnt sit yet and the high chair was bit too big for him. Kept really slumping in it. My only other tip is it got pretty hot at night so your DS may not need to wear as much as normal. We discovered this when woke up in night to discover DS really hot and clamy. Oops. Oh and apparently weds to sat they do baby only swimming first thing in the morning. We didn't realise but probaby would have gone if had. And finally if your going in a group find someone to palm alex off on so you and your dp can enjoy the slides. They are awesome!!!

Waiting for workmen to come. We were supposed to be at baby yoga right now abd they aren't here yet. So annoying. Too be fair we didn't agree a time but I kind of assumed before 10:30.

Oh and I followed the advice about ordering a sample nappy from mio. They are so cute but think am loyal to little lambs. However check out DS rocking some circus pants.

Dozygirl · 09/02/2016 11:15

I was thinking that it should be a separate mugabeans facebook group as a lot of people of this ther dad joined postnatally. Happy to set one up if people want. I'm too nosy not to have joined hehe.

Aargh forgot to say well done to mini mzzzf with her standing. What a clever girl. Piper is wanting to crawl but not got the hang of it yet thank goodness. Don't think I'm ready for a moving baby. My house is far too untidy for that.

MaGratgarlik1983 · 09/02/2016 12:16

Just using condoms here on the rare occasions. DS is still poorly and making sure we all know about it. I've got a bad throat and DH is pretty ill upstairs. Managed to get DS into his own bed last might though so could at least get a few hours sleep after holding him all night the night before. Still off his milk though which is worrying.

DH back at work tomorrow as well. Urrggghhh. Please send Buenos.

FattyNinjaOwl · 09/02/2016 12:48

A mugabeans group would be awesome dozy
And my house looks like a bomb site, they learn to crawl around the mess or to it to see what they can nab before you realise and take it off them

Frolicacid · 09/02/2016 15:08

I have a grumpy and tired baby. He's had a few naps, but none of them are hitting the spot. I wander if he's coming down with something or teething as he's got mega red cheeks. His appetite it fine though, I can't believe how much he is loving food 🙂 No surprise really with a piggy for a mum!

Loving the pancake face fatty!

You should definitely get some birthday action jockstar. Birthdays, anniversaries and Christmas I think 😉

Very cute circus bum kbro.

I would be up for joining a mugabeans Facebook group dozy.

Lilydreams · 09/02/2016 15:27

Hey hey!

I'm so sporadic with posting these days I do apologise! I'm always here lurking reading but as someone else said I'm silly busy but mostly boring stuff!

Currently trapped on the couch user a sleeping DS I seem to be doing more ad more lap naps lately with the impending return to work as I'll miss the snuggles! I was dozing too but 15 minutes in the dog started barking at workmen and woke me but thankfully not DS! Knackered- was at the gym at 6am for my first pt session and then at nursery for 09.30 for our first visit session! DS sat and played whilst I filled paperwork and he seemed very happy which is good I didn't leave him today though that's next week for a little bit eek! Feel like it should be teatime already though being up so early!

Facebook group would be private though yes just us mugabeans? Is be up for that but I don't think we should unless we all want to otherwise some may get left on here and miss the support we all appreciate so much!

No help for contraception suggestion here Mzzf o have copper coil but I love it!! First time in my life I've felt so settled and happy hormonally!

Back later DS is stirring and whilst is like him to sleep longer I'm bursting for a wee!!!!!

MaGratgarlik1983 · 09/02/2016 15:48

Fb group sounds like a plan.

Coconut0il · 09/02/2016 18:47

Hi! Can I join? I know I'm 6 months late but have been reading while enjoying many lap naps with DS2! Reading this thread has really helped since DS was born, he's my second but with a 12 year gap it's been like having the first all over again!

He has never slept in his cot, not for naps or at night but have been enjoying the cuddles during the day and Co sleeping at night...anything to get the most sleep possible!

Routine changes everyday but last 3 days DS has decided that 630 is a good time to nap so enjoying a cuddle while DP does the washing up Smile

everythingispeachy · 09/02/2016 19:07

Evening,
Welcome coconut oil!
I would be up for joining a fb group as long as it was completely private. I think that is possible as I was on a weight watchers one a few years ago but not sure how to do it. It would be nice to put a face to the names and learn some real names too!
I am glad we aren't the only ones doing condoms on the rare occasions. I really need to get back in the saddle so to speak but I find I'm knackered and I think I am going to stop breast feeding soon and hopefully that might help my body feel a bit more mine.
Not a clue what bullet journal is but if it involves lists, bullet points etc.. tell me more sound right up my street. Right I had an asleep baby so going to try a swift transfer so I can go read ds1 some stories.

Frolicacid · 09/02/2016 20:16

Gym at 6am lily, you are superwoman 💪🏻

Welcome coconut 🙂 I bought my first ever jar of coconut oil today - it was clearly a sign!

Yes to putting faces to names. Are you up for sorting the Facebook group dozy? I'm in if everyone else is. I'd happily still post here if that suits better. But I do want to know all your real names .

What did you all have on your pancakes today? I'm about to dive into a pit of Nutella with mine. Mmmmmmm

Fanby · 09/02/2016 20:25

Ola from one two three four five six seven eight nine TENERIFE haha, it amuses molly anyway....

Wifi is so shoddy here but just checking in to say I too am up for mugabes fb group.

Having lovely hols, DH is stepping up too so more of a holiday than I anticipated :) xx

Mugabe Nights: sometimes you wanna go where everybody knows your (sleep deprived) pain!
FattyNinjaOwl · 09/02/2016 20:46

Welcome coconut

fanby hope you're enjoying your holiday.

Pancakes tonight, I had nutella, banana and golden syrup on them..

Coconut0il · 09/02/2016 20:53

Thanks for the welcome frolic and peachy . Have never actually used coconut oil, had been reading about using it for cradle cap as DS still has some. Can't really notice as he has quite a lot of dark hair but it doesn't seem to be going!

He's still sleeping on me, going to try and get him upstairs to bed.

It was pancakes for tea here frolic. DS1 managed 4, all with lemon and sugar Shock
