I'm in for FB too 👍

Welcome coconut oil, do you have a favourite lidl product? That's pretty typical chat around here.

I planned to go trad with lemon and sugar pancakes, but had a rogue cheddar and branston one as well, weird.

Thanks for Woburn tips Kbro, is it awful that I'm thinking of investigating if there is a crèche so me and DP can have a lie in together?!

Bullet journal is all about lists Peachy, it's basically gonna revolutionise my life. I'll tell you more when I use it as an excuse to buy a swanky new notebook and get going 🤓

My parents came over and took us out for lunch today (the major pro of early shifts)... Gave DS a couple of chips and it's easily the most he's actually eaten since we started BLW. Total facepalm moment but was lovely to see him enjoying himself.

Tindel · 09/02/2016 21:26

Count me in for FB - I'm normally a bit wary of real names etc online, but if it's going to be completely private, that's ok.

Having scoffed far too many pancakes (lemon and sugar for me), I sent DH up to investigate J crying. Turns out he was still asleep and woke him up! Feeding him back to sleep now.

Welcome coconut - I joined the group late, but it has been an absolute lifeline for me. I had J at 35 weeks and didn't really know many people IRL in my situation with an August baby. These ladies rock!

Slowifeandthegrumpydwarfs · 09/02/2016 22:13

Hallo, hallo!

We are back from the big smoke. Grumpy 2 enjoyed the train as well as the sights and sounds of the city. Unfortunately that led to some major overstimulation and last night was a bit of a write-off but never mind.

A Facebook group sounds like a cracking plan, count me in (thanks for organising dozy)

What else...? Oh, yes, Russian food. We had borscht to start followed by this www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/756634/salmon-coulibiac with braised red cabbage. Desert was this natashaskitchen.com/2014/03/09/8-layer-honey-cake-recipe-medovik/ It was all pretty yummy. Poor DH has requested somewhere more local for this Saturday though!!

Fair play to all of you dtd, separate rooms are working for us at the moment! In a couple of weeks grumpy 2 will turn 6-months so we will at least start the night in the same room so who knows what might happen then (would it be very sad of me to say that sleep is currently higher on my priority list???)

clstow sorry to hear you are having a tough time, the first few weeks back at work are a bit of a nightmare. We got a cleaner and did a lot of online shopping and it saved our sanity. Hang in there, and remember how amazing you are for juggling it all! Star And thank you for pointing me in the direction of bullet journaling, it's basically what I already do but now I get to show the website to DH as evidence that it is a 'thing' and not just proof that I am an obsessive madwoman Grin

fanby what a beautiful sunset. Enjoy your hols!

Hallo coconut!

frolic grumpy and frolicboy have been telecommunicating again - restless and irritable around napping has been our day too!

I'm really sorry but I can't properly remember what everyone has said and I am so tired that my eyes are involuntarily shutting so I must sleep now. Good night all!

Lilydreams · 09/02/2016 22:21

Hello coconut!! See tindel I didn't even remember you had joined late so coconut you will be part of the furniture here in no time!

Frolic- yes to being nosey wanting names and faces surely only eighth after we've all 'known' each other so long now! Tindel I agree I am about funny with being on public stuff so i second privacy!

Slow glad you had a good trip!

Fanby that holiday photo is making me jealous!! It looks gorge! Enjoy relaxing you deserve it!

Come on what is this bullet journaling? I love me a good list and stationary I feel like ive walked into aladdins cave walking into paperchase!

Clstow- Sod's law with these babies isn't it! I gave DS a hunk of boneless bbq pork rib the other night at the ILs- I think it was Iceland stuff- I don't usually do packets especially for DS (pfb anyone!! Hmm) but thought ahhh he barely eats it anyway and he gobbled the entire thing down! Ah well! He made up for it tonight by gobbling home made chilli, 8 raspberries and pretty much an entire nectarine the little piggy!

Dozygirl · 09/02/2016 22:28

Well not wanting to rub it in but I'm away at a spa hotel with dp for the night while my mum has piper. It's been amazing. I was feeling so stressed out yesterday that it came at the best time tbh. So nice to chill out and not have a baby wanting constant attention. As much as I love her it's very time consuming sometimes and I'm grateful for the break.

Will set up Facebook group tomorrow. Very excited to meet u all at last!

It's totes secret though so no one will know you're in a group. Can just pm when it's set up and I can add people via email addresses if do from my laptop or add as friend and then do it. Don't have to completely desert here seeing as we still get late comers like coconut oil (welcome)

kbro79 · 09/02/2016 22:40

Ah just lost my post! To summarise:

Welcome coconut August babies hate their cots 😄 I am 12 years older than my brother and love having such a little brother. Keeps me young and doeb with the kids.

dozy yes to facebook! Enjoy the spa night!

Pancake night have been put off till tomorrow chez kbro.

mzzzf · 10/02/2016 07:20

Aloha mugabeans!!

I didn't eat a single pancake yesterday due to the aleep vampire deciding to go off piste with her nap times!! Damn!! DH and I got a crepe hot plate and all the tools for a pressie a while ago so have decided to get it out this weekend and go crepe cray-cray!! 😁

As probably crap as it sounds to the more outgoing of you but in February I've challenged myself to get out of the house 6 days a week. So far so good but it's a challenge for me! I can easily while away a day in our house, especially with our crap weather lately. Although the last two days have been gorgeous - even did and hour pram walk with the dogs on Monday without a coat!!!
Hope no one down south has been blown away with Imogen!!

Also I've taken the leap and stopped my mini pill ( for now!). Like you frolic I feel sometimes like I have a womb of doom and it wasn't happy. So we'll see what happens with the delightful bleeding now. I started it due to my horrendous periods anyway so the next while could be interesting - I've bulk bought tampax!!😀

Speaking of things red I must get Valentine card today!!! 😂

OH THANK GOD HE SLEPT. HE FINALLY SLEPT. 9:30 to 3:30.
I was actually at the point of wondering if all the Cry It Out people were right.

Coconut0il · 10/02/2016 08:47

Thank you for the welcomesSmile

Managed to get DS upstairs and into bed, he doesn't sleep too badly but does like to be latched on most of the night which makes it difficult to sleep!! I agree kbro DS1 is an August birthday too and he never slept in his cot either! Don't know why I bothered getting one this time! Love hearing about people with bigger age gaps, was worried at first but so far it's been great having DS1 as an extra helperSmile

clstow Have never been to lidlBlush(please don't throw me out!) What do you recommend? All that got me through the first few weeks was a full fat coke first thing and some days I'm still having a chocolate for breakfastGrin
Have never heard of bullet journals but love a nice notepad and pen and I'm definitely a list maker!

tindel 35 weeks Shock I wouldn't have been ready! Both of mine have been two weeks over and had to be pulled out with forceps. They really didn't want to come out!

Very jealous of the spa dozy Have left DS with DP while I've been out for a few meals but can only manage about 3 hours out as he totally refuses a bottleConfused

Hope everyone has a lovely day Smile

EffinIneffable · 10/02/2016 09:46

Ola mugabes! Found my membership card down the back of the sofa...! I used to be a paid up member in the early days, but things got a bit dark for me for a while - horrible all night insomnia and anxiety - so stopped posting. I've been checking in and reading every now and then and have to say that you ladies, every last one of you, are absolutely rocking this mothering thing. It's bloody tough and you're all so resilient in the face of all the curve balls our little folk chuck our way.

Anyway, things are a bit calmer now - sleep is still rating poor to shit but I'm dealing with it slightly better. So, can I come back and re-open my bar tab?

Joskar · 10/02/2016 10:14

Has anyone got the fake Tripp Trapp from Aldi? What like? Worth it?

Dozygirl · 10/02/2016 10:36

I need to make Facebook friends with at least one person to make a group. Anyone willing to be my friend 😂😂 if so pm me your name etc and I'll add you.

My mum didn't give piper a dream feed and she slept all night! She doesn't do that for me haha. I'm thinking of stopping bf. It makes me sad to say because I really wanted to carry on but it's not fair on her to put her through daily upset everything I try to be her. Or I'll just express a couple of times a day to keep it going so she still gets some of the goodness from my milk. She's a much happier baby on bottles. I'm so sad about it though because I've worked so hard but 6 months down the line and it's no easier than it was at the beginning.

Dozygirl · 10/02/2016 10:37

Oh wait I'm already friends with fanby so I can start the group with her.

randomsabreuse · 10/02/2016 12:19

FFS phone - tab crashed mid post.

Hauck Alpha is solid pine, sturdy when made up by me so foolproof and I bought one off amazon less than a month before the Aldi deal. Friends have similar so was looking for that type. Probably not ideal for teeny tiny 9th percentile kids like F but we manage.

It was her 6 month birthday yesterday, we took my DH to the Drs, then for a blood sample and now he has a high temperature as well. Little germ factories!

Tindel · 10/02/2016 12:53

Yay for the sleep siani! A spa day sounds lovely dozy - you've clearly worked so hard to bf, but you need to do what works for you both.

Coconut I wasn't ready at all - I went to the hospital for a blood pressure check, was told I had preeclampsia and came home a week later with J!

Joskar · 10/02/2016 13:17

Do you need a cushion, random? I'm thinking for my 2 year old more than the baby.

Frolicacid · 10/02/2016 13:51

Ola! I've been a big girl and been to the dentist. I have a huge teeth phobia, so it's a big deal for me. It's a year since I last went. Surprisingly, the hyperemesis and epic lemonade drinking haven't done too much damage. I do need a filling redone, which will require lots of Valium. Another reason I wish Ds would take a bottle. maybe some Valium rich milk would help with sleep though?
We had a pub lunch with my dad as it's his birthday. I think Ds thinks he lives in the pub sometimes.

Tenerife looks fab fanby. I hope you are having a lovely time.

Get yourself to lidl coconut! Start working your way through the chocolates and thank us later 🙂 I am also a big fan of the full fat Coke boost.
I have a bottle refuser too. I keep going in circles of stressing, trying to give him a bottle and then thinking fuck it doesn't matter! I'm at the stressy stage again as I'm doing some training soon and would like him to have a bottle while I'm gone.

Mmm cheddar and pickle pancakes are yummy clstow. So are chips. Great finger food IMO.

How's grumpy2 today slow? Ds fed loads during the night and is still a bit out of sorts. His appetite is fine though - he is demolishing everything I'm offering him. May try a bottle later on while he's in a receptive mood.

Aw lily, now you've made me crave ribs. Mmmmmm.

Welcome back effin. Your tab is definitely still open.

I hope the spa was amazing dozy. Very well deserved.
Do what you feel is right for you and piper re: bf'ing. You are a total trooper to have got this far. I wouldn't have battled so hard. Mucho kudos to you. 6 months is great.

Yay for a good sleep siani.

It's a glorious day here - Shame I'm sat here waiting for s builder to look at storm damage.

Slowifeandthegrumpydwarfs · 10/02/2016 13:55

Afternoon all!

Welcome back effin I had wondered what happened to you for a while there - glad that you are feeling better. Those middle of the night insomnia-inducing anxiety monkeys are the worst. You are very welcome back to the bar Grin

dozy don't be sad! Making it to 6-months bf'ing with the troubles you have had is amazing and if ditching it now will make both you and Piper happier then go for it. You've paid your dues definitely and she has had the benefit of that.

Right back to it, I bloody love Wednesdays. We go to this hilarious 'singing' session at the library and then on for coffee and cake with a friend. I consequently get home so wired on sugar and caffeine that I am always super-productive on a Wednesday afternoon Grin

Slowifeandthegrumpydwarfs · 10/02/2016 14:01

Hey frolic x-posts there. Beautiful day here too! Grumpy2 is more jolly today but still cannot sleep for more than about 20-30 minutes which is fairly unlike her. Very red cheeks and reflux too, I'm pretty sure its all tooth related. As you know we have a bottle refuser too and I did go down the 'fuck it' route and gave up. Anyway, we have been giving her a cup for the last couple of weeks and she drinks from that just fine so maybe ditch the bottle and move on?
We are using this one www.boots.com/en/MAM-Trainer-Bottle-Pink_1483948/?cm_mmc=bmm--google--PLAs-_-Boots%20Shopping%20-%20Category%20-%20Baby and this one (that we got in the Aldi baby event) www.amazon.co.uk/Grip-Sip-Spill-First-PINK/dp/B00HUAQWAA
She does fine with both.

Slowifeandthegrumpydwarfs · 10/02/2016 14:02

Oh shit, frolic just read your last line. What storm damage? Not too serious I hope Sad

randomsabreuse · 10/02/2016 14:20

Not sure re cushion. I haven't yet and the friends who inspired me didn't seem to use any cushions. They look great for toddlers to my untutored eyes!

Frolicacid · 10/02/2016 14:41

Thanks slow. He just spat the bottle I tried all over me! I'm not sure if it's the bottle or the formula he hates the most. I know he can drink from the bottle as he's done it a couple of times. Maybe I need to try different formula. I'm swaying between being desperate to stop bf'ing all together and thinking I'll carry on in the morning and night until he self weans. We've tried those cups as well to no joy. He is drinking water out of a free flow beaker very happily, but formula is immediately spat out. I can't express more than an oz these days. The stuff I have stored in the freezer from when I could is spat out too. I'm considering going cold turkey on the boob during the day to see if that persuades him. He'll have to do without it when I'm at work anyway.

Storm damage is nothing major, just a bit of water on our top landing. And as we are renting this place, not a problem we have to find the money for, thank god.

A friend sent me some Betty's macaroons for my birthday. I think I've earned them today 🙂

Coconut0il · 10/02/2016 15:31

Will get to lidl frolic. There is one no too far away so will check it out! Got to try to cut back on my chocolate and cake habit though, haven't really taken DS to any baby groups or classes but we have been to quite a few places for hot chocolate and cake Grin Sugar and caffeine keeps us going here too slow Smile

DS1 would happily go between boob and bottle, he had the first one when I cracked at day 3 after thinking he should be going 3 hours between feeds! He would never take a bottle from me but DP or grandparents had no trouble. I bf till he was 18 months. This time I was more prepared for the cluster feeding so just went with it and didn't try a bottle with DS2 till about 6 weeks and think it was too late. It does make me worry a bit more if I have to pop out but think he would rather wait! I have given up trying them, just try to work round it... won't be forever.

A lovely surprise tindel even if you weren't ready!

Dozy don't feel sad, I have been very lucky with bf but it is much harder than many people think. You should do whatever is best for you and your daughter. With DS1 I felt guilty about every choice I made, like I should be doing something different or better. This time I think if you're happy and baby is happy just go with it Smile

Frolicacid · 10/02/2016 19:26

As soon as this monster is off my boob, I'm hitting this 🙂🐷
