I'm thoroughly enjoying it! I've just eaten two oranges rather than the mint aero that was looking fondly at me in the fridge. Just realised I'll be lying stressed out around a pool with a wriggling baby in two days. Thank fuck for sarongs!

Frolicacid · 04/02/2016 22:01

Shit! I've just spent rather a lot at frugi and mothercare. Lots of rainbow threads incoming 🌈
I've never seen silent witness. The idris Elba crush is developing nicely.

I could murder a double decker mzzf. Swimming makes ne hungry. I took it gently, so hopefully it won't make me sore as well.

Oh no fatty! Carrot juice, pumpkin seeds and ovex are your friends. The cleaning is a pita.

We are pooing with every meal again fanby. Joyous!
I am wel jel of you getting some sun soon.

💐 tindel.

Lilydreams · 04/02/2016 22:35

Wow loads of posts to catch up on!

Dozy yes to not being able to catch anything on camera! I have plenty of smily photos but DS seems to know when I've got it on video mode and stops doing whatever I'm trying to catch!

Fanby- you are right I hadn't realised how positive and upbeat I am at the moment I don't know where it's come from I just seem to have clicked lately and am cracking on with things- I will remember to rest occasionally though as I know another stage of motherhood will no doubt throw a spanner in the works at some point!

Frolic the blueberry picture is toooooo cute!!! DS has an affinity for raspberries at the moment- the actual fruit now just blowing them!

Slowife that card is amazing!!!! Too funny!

Shift went really well last night, the staff were so lovely- aside from one that seemed to think she was demeaning me because I was just bank staff by asking me to wash up so I cheerily said no problem and spent an hour cleaning the whole kitchen!! Grin she liked me after that! Haha! I finished 15 minutes early so was home just after midnight- DS had been a bit of a pain for DS not settling for a couple of hours but he did go down eventually and DH had pizza for tea so was happy. I did DS's dream feed and put him back down around 1am then he didn't wake up till......wait for it.........8am!!!! Omg!!! So despite working till midnight I have felt the most alive in a long time today thanks to DS! Little superstar!

Rra- I can't believe hv said that I'm no expert but I don't think I'd be following that advice!

I've messed around with timings quite a bit but DS fell into his own preferred times so he tends to nap sometime around 4.30/5ish till just before 6pm when he has his tea- if we are both off we all eat together if DH is at work I either have a snack with DS and eat with DH later or I eat with DS and DH warms his up later. When we are both back at work on the days we are both at work for tea he will eat at nursery so I'm hoping it being a bit earlier won't mess up the routine. Then it's bath at 6.30 and bottle around 7 usually asleep by 7.15/7.30 ish.

I've still got a page and a half to catch up on but going to try and catch some zzzs as DH has fallen asleep on the couch and I should make the most of DS having been asleep since 7.30 and not having stirred once- wowza! I'll catch up tommorrow night mugabeans!

Joskar · 04/02/2016 23:47

I'm going to marry Idris*. Just so you know. No one get any ideas. Mine!

Baby doesn't have a routine. We have our tea all together at 6ish and dd1 goes up to bed 7ish. No baths in the evening because we haven't time and dd1 just gets excited by them rather than calmed. Bath in the mornings at least three times a week but not every night because it makes their skin all dry. Baby sometimes has a bath with her sister and sometimes just her own self if there's been a shitastrophe. No idea when she naps although often will go down in her cot for two hours over lunch. Otherwise just when she feels like it in a sling or car seat or bouncer. Comes to bed with me at 10ish having napped and fed all evening. She used to sleep 11-6 but not anymore. I hope it'll come back. The aim in this house is to get to 6 am. Dd1 is brutal and can sometimes get up at 5 which is just shite. Dd2 will have her early feed and then usually go back down for two or three hours.

Those with more than one: how do you get the baby to sleep in the same room as the older one? Is there not much disturbing of each other?

The car from hell needed a new catalytic converter today. £300! Will it never end?

Going out on the ran dan** tomorrow! Yay! Other grown up humans! Talking about things unrelated to bowel movements or Mr Tumble.

*don't tell Dh
**not really, just book group BUT in the pub!

loveandsmiles · 05/02/2016 07:29

Morning all😀. Starting to feel normal again after a week of gastric flu - been worst week ever - lots of love to all you others not feeling so good just now Flowers. tindel hope you are better - it's so hard being ill when you have babies / children to look after too. No luxury of lying in your bed.

slow I just loved the thank you card - made me lol

lily so glad work went well and you got a massive sleep too X

fanby woohoo for lovely nails and mega excitement for time in the sun 🌞🌞

frolic yeah to sleep miracle - long may it last

fatty omg - not good🙁

joskar sounds like you've got a great night organised! I am like you in that I don't have much of a routine with the baby - sleeps in her Moses basket during the day and in the evenings she has to fit in with going to activities and baths and beds of everyone else - she gets passed around for cuddles by whichever DC is available! - then I just feed her and take her up to bed with me. My other DC have all slept fine despite the others - I'm not sure if it's because they have all co-slept but they quite like company at night - my 6 and 8 year olds will often get in together and now toddler likes to join them - it just works out.

As I've not had toddler out of the house for what seems like forever we went to the library yesterday - bear in mind I've been ill for a week and very sleep deprived too - I actually wanted to slap another mother!!! She was sitting with a friend and talking far too loudly which annoyed me instantly - said very loudly how tired she was as she got woken at 2am - her baby (about 6mths) sleeps from 7-7 - I can't believe the rage I felt towards a total stranger!!Angry. Then her friend with baby (about 10 months) says she only gives him water through a straw as its great for their speech and he is so clever taking it - good luck with that I thought to myself - my DD2 wouldn't drink from anything and eventually took to a straw but didn't speak until she was nearly 4!!! Calm down me - normally I wouldn't even have noticed these people - I have completely lost it.

Now, unfortunately, I have an extremely untidy house to clean - normal service resumes...............

sianihedgehog · 05/02/2016 08:06

Oh god is there a six month sleep regression? Because I'm on night 3 of super happy fun sleep like a newborn times and I'd KILL for 3h in a row again. :( He's waking every 45 minutes ffs.

On the plus side he's definitely giving eating a proper go. I reckon he had at least a teaspoon of Ready Brek internally this morning. The rest of the bowl was apparently for topical application.

kbro79 · 05/02/2016 08:55

We are definetly have 6 month nap regression. Night sleep is so rubbish I probably wouldn't notice if it regressed or not. Day already off to terrible start. DS been awake since 6am - looks shattered and is doing his super annoying high pitched scream and dh and I have had a row.

I feel so guilty and useless about his napping. I don't know what to do. Nothing works anymore. Even feeding to sleep won't work. And all the photos I have of him he has such tired big red eyes. Sorry big woe is me post. We are off to his movers and shakers class which am sure will cheer me up.

Also off to centre Parcs this weekend with friends. Should be nice. Optimistically packing the travel cot. If nothing else it means we'll have something to put our bags in!!

Clstow · 05/02/2016 09:17

Whoop whoop for Friday. My first full week at work and fucking useless south west trains have kindly reminded me that commuting is a kind of hell but hey, at least their total shiteness gives me time to post on here. Have been keeping up when I can, but forgive me for anything I've forgotten...

Happy birthday Frolic! Sounds like you had an ace day. Funny how our birthday wish lists have basically changed to sleep sleep and more sleep.

Glad you're feeling better Love, having a cold with one baby is hard enough, you're an actual hero for coping with 6 with a bug. Chocolate and a trip to the nail salon for you I reckon.

Fatty - worms there was a tapeworm thread on here recently that basically made me want to bleach my brain. Hope the ovex does the job quickly.

Mini MzzF is adorable, well done for coping without your DH yesterday mama MzzF.

Fanby I am totally giving you side eye coz I am SO jealous of your holiday. Have an amazing time. Hope you get to chill.

Tindel hope you feel better soon.

Siani - crawling?! Sorry to hear about the regression. Sleep also going to shit here (DS 6 months on sun) but it's currently DPs problem. He took DS to be weighed and the HV helpfully told him he needed to get DS's sleep sorted. Great. Thanks for that useful advice. Coz we had planned for him to wake up several times a night forever 😖

Slow that card is amazing. Thank grumpy1 for being a comedy genius.

Yay for a good return to work and sleep Lily.

And Joskar.... Idris is mine. Soz.

Pleased to report that Dads and lads is going bloody brilliantly. They've been doing all sorts of fun stuff together. I'm gutted to be missing out but seeing their relationship develop is just incredible, makes me well up a bit. No fixed routine here but DS usually naps at some point in the afternoon then bath 6:30/7ish, bottle and bed. What happens after that is entirely unpredictable.

Have a great Friday all 🙌

FattyNinjaOwl · 05/02/2016 10:49

Ugh. So after administering ovex, and cleaning absolutely everything, having DD heart broken because I've even put her teddys in the wash, she decided this morning was a great time to puke. .

loveandsmiles · 05/02/2016 14:29

siani we tried food for the first time today and after lovingly preparing peaches think babyloves managed a lick and toddler polished them off - at least no waste!! Tried her with a cup and water which she wasn't impressed with - has since been clamped onto my boob as if she is afraid I will put something else strange in her mouth if she takes it outGrin

kbro sorry about the napping and sorry I don't have any great suggestions but it's absolutely not your fault - hugs. If I am really struggling to get babyloves to sleep, rocking her in her car seat usually does the trick but I know babies are not supposed to be in them for too long - if it gives you a little break might be worth a try though. Enjoy Centre Parcs - which one are you off to? Centre Parcs is a favourite of the DC!

clstow wow, how was your first week - you've done well?! Yes, definately nails and much chocolate required!! Our DC must be the same age - babyloves is 6 months on Sunday too - half a year already!!Smile

fatty NO - that is a bad day - hope things are getting better now

Toddler and DD3 decided babyloves Sit Me Up Cosy was great for jumping on and have burst the whole thing - not even a puncture repair kit will fix this damage - just had to go and buy yet another baby item - seriously, over the years I think I have owned everything in Mothercare in varying colours - babyloves still showing no signs of sitting up - quite content lying flat on her back with her chewing ringsSmile

kbro79 · 05/02/2016 15:29

Loves we are off to Wolborn - not to far away as just there for weekend but should be nice!!

Thanks for kind words about napping. Everything just overwhelmed me this week I think. Nothing a weekend of water slides and gossip with friends won't sort out. DH and I had a row chat and he took DS while a had a long hot shower. Came out to find DH had got DS to nap traitor DS traitor which I think put us all in a better mood.

Ah fatty I feel for you. You deserve a good run of health!!!

Clstow that's so lovely about your dp and DS. My BIL is a stay at home dad and him and my nephew are great buddies (although he is still a mummies boy at heart)

Fanby have an awesome holiday.

have you noticed I have just learned how to do the crossing out thing. Will totally overuse now

Fanby · 05/02/2016 15:56

Right, don't kill me but I don't think molly wants to nap on me anymore??! No naps on me yesterday and she's back in her cot now after having a wail on me, put her in her cot and boom asleep?! What the actual fuck. But so no one kicks me out the group, she was up every hour last night haha!! She will always have the last card!

Went to Zumbini today, she was SO excited. I've kept her in/away from others most of the week due to her poorlies and today she was all smiles. She loved the class so much she even managed to go 3.5hrs without food which for the boob monster she is, is epic!

Frolic - jealous of your frugi purchases!!! Such beautiful threads, so sad they don't come in adult sizes, I'd totally wear them :)

Lily - so glad work went ok. Honestly I think you're such a trooper!

Joskar - have an excellent time at book club tonight!!

Love - glad you're feeling better!! I too would have wanted to slap her - but for talking too loudly in the library right? Wink is it wrong to say I'm relieved baby loves doesn't want to sit up either? Molls is such a schlomper and just loves being on her back!

Siani - are babies allowed ready brek? If so AMAZING, because that's the only porridge I like!! I've bought some boots baby porridge for molls but for some reason the smell makes me gag. What do you mix with the ready brek??

Kbro - I bloody LOVE LOVE LOVE centre parcs!!! Wishing you the most amazing time with extra added sleep so you can enjoy any activities that you wish to partake in :)

Clstow - oh well done matey! So pleased work is going well for you and your boys are getting along famously. I hope you have an amazing weekend full of lovely baby cuddles and fun

sianihedgehog · 05/02/2016 17:37

Fanby yes, after 6 months it's fine. It's got a very similar nutritional breakdown to cow and gate baby porridge. And you're fine using cows milk in it after 6 months, too. I'm jumping the gun slightly, but he'll be 6 months in less than 2 weeks!

Slowifeandthegrumpydwarfs · 05/02/2016 19:26

Will respond properly later but just a flying post to say COME ON YOU SAINTS!! It's the first game of the new rugby league season and both the grumpies, Mr Grumpy and I are heading to the match in the pouring rain. We must be mental.

Frolicacid · 05/02/2016 19:48

Evening all 🙂 Ds totally missed his last nap today. We'll soon find out if that makes for sleepy baby or wide awake over tired baby. I'm hoping for the former once he comes off this boob.

Fuck this talk of 6 month sleep regression! We're not over the 4 month one yet 😬

I'm pleased your shift went well lily. I'm sure they were very please with you. Yay for some good sleep as well.

You can marry idris jockstar, as long as you let him visit me for the occasional frolic 😉
My car had a similar phase. I spent fuckloads on it over a few months. I nearly got rid of it, but I'm very glad I didn't as it's done about 30,000 miles since without any problems.

Glad you are feeling better loves. She deserved a slap just for talking loudly in the library- I hate that. Babyloves looking very cute.

Have a lovely weekend kbro. Sorry sleep is so hard for you at the moment. I hope you'll be visiting the centre parks spa. have fun

I would also totally rock some big girl frugi fanby. I really shouldn't have been spending again, but I bloody love rainbows 🌈
great about the napping off you.

You are mental slow!

Right, there are snores coming from my boob. Transfer time ahoy.

FattyNinjaOwl · 05/02/2016 20:10

Good luck slow my boys are kitted out in their warriors shirts. Grin

Fanby · 05/02/2016 21:24

Woohoo bring on the ready brek!!

Slowifeandthegrumpydwarfs · 05/02/2016 21:37

frolic, fatty here is grumpy 2 doing her best 'what the fuck am I doing here past my bedtime' face!!

Mugabe Nights: sometimes you wanna go where everybody knows your (sleep deprived) pain!
Lilydreams · 05/02/2016 21:44

Frolic jealous of your frugi purchases I also would wear it myself if I could it's all so soft and beautiful!! Ive been putting money to one side each month for DS for when he's older or for big purchases like the next car seat etc but I keep dipping into it so much for clothes for him it's never got above a couple of hundred quid so I need to stop!!

Joksar sorry about the car I'm expecting ours to conk out any time soon either that or cost me a fortune in April for its MOT!

Loves glad your on the mend and totally understand the library woman rage I would have been the same!

Sinai I don't know about s 6 month regression but I do believe there's a growth spurt so could be that?

Kbro centre parcs is ace enjoy!

Clstow well done for making it through the first week of work!

Fanby good work on the naps front I'm very impressed! I really need to get back to DS cot napping but I've been enjoying cuddles while he naps knowing that I'm back to work properly in 3 weeks and won't be getting as many! Oh and thanks I don't often feel like a trooper though!

Fatty hope the worms are at bay now eeeek!!

So after DS's nice long stretch of sleep the night before last night he lured me into a false sense of security by going to sleep at 7.30 and not stirring or murmering at all once all evening so I thought I'd see how long he would go and not dreamfeed like usual at 11.30- he woke at 11.45 and had only half his bottle and then fell asleep but woke back up a few minutes later- cutting a long story short I finally got to bed at 3am after he had laughed, shrieked, danced, screamed and moaned then burped 3 times with dozes in between!! Thankfully he then slept till 8!

Hopefully tonight will be better!

Fanby · 05/02/2016 21:54

Love that photo slow!!! Too cute!!! X

Giraffescandance1 · 05/02/2016 22:17

kbro and fanby enjoy your holidays! I love Center Parcs too, not been to Woburn yet, usually Longleat for me but have seen the prices for school holidays Shock as dd1 starts school in September.

Fanby go Molls! Although controversially I kind of miss the cuddly naps as baby giraffe is too big now and she likes to stretch out in her pushchair or lay in bed. I've still not built my cot Confused I'm a bit laid back about it haha

rra that's outrageous advice from the hv. I'm sure as an adult I don't need to drink at night but if I'm thirsty I have one, why should a baby be made to wait and left to cry?! There's nothing wrong with babies who've yet to sleep through at this age.

Routine wise I have my tea with both dc at 5ish, then bath both dc at 6.30ish and read them a bedtime story at 7ish. Then lights out for dd1 and dd2 gets fed to sleep in my bed, usually takes around thirty mins to get her to sleep. Baby is quite laid back and I've always found it easier to get dc to try foods and eat more adventurously if they see me eating too. Dh makes his own supper when he gets home at around 8.

loves glad you're feeling better! I'd have been irate in the library too Grin

FattyNinjaOwl · 05/02/2016 23:31

Grumpy 2 is wondering why she has been dragged to a saints game when she wanted to be watching the warriors beat catalan dragons Wink

I now have two pukey children. DS1 started too! Ugh.

Slowifeandthegrumpydwarfs · 06/02/2016 00:27

fatty ha ha! That made me chuckle Grin Glad to hear that the Pies won tonight for you. Hope your older DS was pleased! Bloody 'summer' rugby though, it was about minus 30 and absolutely pissing it down - the grumpies were little troopers, but clearly thought that Mum and Dad had gone a bit mad dragging them out!! ☔️☔️. Hope you have a worm / puke-free night 💤

Tindel · 06/02/2016 00:42

Hello all! Have ventured to visit my Welsh family this weekend with my mum sharing driving / cuddling J duties. Still ill - have started throwing up, which is new. J wouldn't settle to sleep even through feeding, so as DH isn't here, J is now fast asleep in my bed. Slightly terrified of squashing him, but that was outweighed by him bellowing hysterically every time I tried to get up. So we fell asleep with him latched on about 10pm. Unfortunately have been woken up by my aunty's horrific snoring and am now the only one awake. I swear it's the loneliest place to be at times. Hoping I can get back to sleep before J needs to feed again.

Fanby · 06/02/2016 02:41

Giraffes - I miss the cuddles too lol! You actually can't win - want them to nap in a cot and then they bloody do lol! I miss my baby hot water bottle (and my excuse not to do anything!!)

Tindel - sleepy wishes flinging them self over to you in the welsh lands!! x
