We're both over tired tonight! Ds took ages to settle, doing his usual over tired trick of lying there shouting. My lovely friend got me a jelly sweet pizza for my birthday and I have had waaay too much sugar! I've spent all evening bending dh's ear about car seats instead of getting some much needed rest.
Now the big question is to dream feed or not?

She is utterly gorgeous mzzf. Happy 6 months! Pat yourself on the back for getting this far 👍🏻

I hope Molly is on the mend quickly fanby.

Yay for good sleeps lily. We also have major raspberry blowing going on. The current fave is to do it when I give him a drink of water. I need to stop laughing at it or he will have terrible table manners 🙂
Good luck with your shift tomorrow- you'll be ace.

Good night mugabeans.

Dozygirl · 02/02/2016 23:50

Mini mzzzf is stunning!!@ 😍😍 such a cheeky little face. Happy 6 months old

Dozygirl · 02/02/2016 23:56

Love the raspberry blowing. I think it's hilarious how we encourage them to do it and then immediately regret it as it means drool is sprayed everywhere and then obviously when they're older it's considered rude haha. But it's proper cute. Piper doesn't do it for fun, more as a way of expressing herself so she'll do it when she's upset but not quite crying or when she's frustrated. Or to express that she's having fun playing. Strange child. Keep trying to capture it on camera but every time I put the phone in front of her she stops. There's so many moments I constantly want to capture and keep on video but she just doesn't play ball so we've missed most of them. Even getting her laughing on camera is a nightmare. By the time you get the camera ready she's stopped finding the thing funny that she was originally laughing at. Silly baby.

Fanby · 03/02/2016 03:21

Well I jinxed myself by sharing that she has been sleeping, took 3 attempts to get her into her cot, and we're on the second feed of the night hahaha that'll teach me. I guess she's feeling better as this is more like the DD I know! ;)

Dozy - molly is the same with the camera, I try and film from the side and keep her attention forward if that makes sense?

Frolic - that pizza sounds amazing, I hope you've had your sugar crash now!

Lily - you're sounding very positive and upbeat - AND very busy lol! Hope you're doing ok, remember to take it a little bit easy too xxx

Tindel · 03/02/2016 04:44

another jinxer here. J woke up when we went to bed and took almost 2 hours to settle. Ran out of ideas and ended up rocking him to sleep in the carrycot. So much for getting more sleep again tonight Hmm

Gorgeous pic mzzzf - mini mzzzf is adorable!

Good tip about pics fanby - would love more pics / film of J smiling and laughing but he doesn't do posing.

Right, hoping he goes down quicker this time - wish me luck!

Fanby · 03/02/2016 06:37

So we went back to every 3 hours last night.Which in the scheme of things is fine. My mum is coming to visit today so I'm hoping she can keep an eye on molls so I can pack. Does anyone else find it hard though when really all you'd like to say is can you look after the baby so I can go take a nap/have a break but because you haven't seen the person in a while you also want to spend time with them? x

sianihedgehog · 03/02/2016 06:52

I was all excited that we had two nights in a row of 4 hour blocks of sleep. So last night he was up every hour and tonight every 45 minutes. :( I haven't even nodded off since about 2. He's got both farts and teething pain I think. :(

Giraffescandance1 · 03/02/2016 07:18

Morning all

Just been reading back as am in Dorset for a few days holiday with friends.

loves hope you're better soon, being poorly with children is the worst, you do realise mums aren't allowed to be ill don't you?! Wink

Happy six months birthday to the babies! Baby giraffe is six months old today, I may buy a cake...and eat it myself Grin

Baby giraffe only likes to nap in her iCandy now, she's in the seat and I can sit on the sofa and rock it for a few minutes until she's asleep, then I get some time off Grin so I've given up bothering with the cot. At night time she sleeps ok but keeps waking between 5 and 6 with a dirty nappy, then it's hard to get her to sleep again. Oh well. I have very low expectations on sleep so I'm never disappointed Grin

Happy hump day all!

mzzzf · 03/02/2016 08:02

Yes fanby! I feel like that every time my friends or family come to visit (less so with DH's!! Haha) it's hard because mostly they want to help and would think nothing of you having a nap but it's good for the soul to see the ones we love!!

Thanks for the nice compliments re mini mzzzf, frankly it's her cuteness that's stops her being launched from the roof 😁 😁

Lily - you are ON it!!! Well done for having such awesome motivation missus. I'm terrible at the moment but I still stick by my rule of 6 hrs a night before training starts. The body just cannot handle it otherwise! N.b I'm currently eating croissant for brekkie 😳😁

MaGra - what programme was it?! Do you have an inappropriate crush? 😉

Fist bumps to all those in the shit sleep club. "It will get better... It will get better... It will get better...

Oh giraffes - enjoy Dorset! And yay for solo napping - wherever it may occur!!! I've given up fighting on naps now too.

Fanby · 03/02/2016 08:15

Happy hold and happy 6 months giraffelette!!!

Siani - hugs, chocs and wishes for a long nap where you can rest as well today! x

Fanby · 03/02/2016 08:17

Craving croissants now mzzf! I shall be dining on bagel and Philly when I get up, yes I'm still in bed mwahahaha!

mzzzf · 03/02/2016 08:37

Was up at just before 5 and out of bed at 7, so in theory am due a second breakfast right?! 😉

kbro79 · 03/02/2016 09:06

Ah sorry for all the jinxers. It's horrible when you think you've got somewhere and haven't. For no reason at all I had a really strong feeling that DS was going to have a good night. (Napped better, eaten well) Could not have been more wrong. Oh well. Hey ho.

Happy 6 months giraffes and mzzzf. I honestly thought Id have cot napping in the bag by now. But also not going to fight DS on it anymore!! I think all us mummies should go and have some baby free time to celebrate reaching 6 months and not leaving our babies out to be raised by wolves!!!

Lily I am loving hearing that things get better at 6 months. Please please DS.

Was never an Anton du beke fan but must admit he really grew on me this series. Might have to have a bit of iplayer time!!

Right just realised haven't showered since Monday so off to do that.

Fanby · 03/02/2016 09:54

Mzzf - you're allowed as many breakfasts as you can possibly get in your belly before 11am!

Kbro - I hate that when you think tonight will be a good night :( ho hum! There's always tonight? :S. I've totally given up on nap in cot. After Christmas it went to pot, tried for a week and admitted defeat. I keep thinking I need to get back on it, but quite frankly can't be arsed #mumfail

And now I'm ill. Feel dizzy and feverish and not in the mood to do anything or go anywhere. DH is working from home, so is keeping me topped up with drinks and is currently making me toast. Bleurgh - hope this doesn't last. J may be spending the day in his bouncy chair

kbro79 · 03/02/2016 11:19

Good lord Jupiter and Mars have aligned or the gods of sleep are shining down on me but after declaring I have giving up on cot naps DS is asleep in his cot. we are supposed to going out so I popped him in his cot whilst I packed nappy bag and popped to loo and when I came back he said was asleep!!! I know enough to know that this means nothing but am going to enjoy it!!

everythingispeachy · 03/02/2016 12:11

Hi sorry I have been away for while. Currently living in a plague house. Dh was sick on Saturday, baby sick on Monday and now ds1 is ill. He can't keep anything down and throughly miserable while sleepily watching cbeebies. I guess at this rate it will hit me on Friday.

Luckily ds2 slept from 7.30 to 4.50am! Best night ever. He must be recovering from his bug so not going to get my hopes up.

Happy 6 month birthday to all the older babies. It's a couple of weeks away for us. Still not started on weaning yet but dh gave ds2 his crust of pizza to suck on last night. It wasn't my idea of the best first taste but never mind.

Happy belated birthday frolic. I am feeling very unsure about going to a friends hen do at the end of Feb. It sounded like a good idea last year but not so sure about leaving ds2 for a night now. He will be fine with dh but i think I am going to have to pump while away which is putting me off. Also I have nothing to wear. Argh the dilemma.

I have to go to the garage later to have some damage to my car looked at. I was reversed into last week. Only a small bump and I was all for not involving the insurance company but the guy was a complete arse, first he tried to drive off then blamed me for being behind him. I was driving out of the car park and he just pulled out of his parking space. Dick, so now I am claiming and stuff his no claims.

everythingispeachy · 03/02/2016 12:12

And this is how we found the cat this morning. She assures me it was like that when she got there ...

rrra · 03/02/2016 13:13

Kbro, they always throw you a sleep curve ball when you are about to go out. They sense it!

Slowifeandthegrumpydwarfs · 03/02/2016 13:49

Hallo everyone!

We didn't get blown away in the wind frolic although the pram nearly disappeared complete with grumpy 2 on Monday, Wizard of Oz style. It's calmed down today though (well after the biblical hail that soaked us on the way to school this morning Confused) and the sun has now come out. Hooray!

Everyone seems to be on the mend here finally, although we are back to 1am and 4am feeding after our one night of 11pm and 5:30am (which was much better grumpy 2, could we not have stuck with that??). So in a fit of sleep deprived lunacy I have sent DH off to IKEA in his lunch break to buy me a new chest of drawers that we will no doubt end up attempting to build tonight in a fog after the kids are in bed which will result in a divorce worthy argument. Ahhh, I cant wait Grin

Happy 6-month birthday babies! Can't believe some of us have only just turned 5 months and some of us are already 6. What's even more bonkers is that in 10 years time these 4 weeks will make no difference at all, and yet at the moment they are HUGE! Well done to all those eating, crawling, raspberry blowing babies. We are at toe-sucking here which is making nappy changing interesting! Grumpy 2 has also developed her own style of finger sucking favouring her index and middle finger bent over backwards rather than the more conventional thumb. I would be concerned about this if it didn't help her self-settle. Bad Mummy.

lily good luck with your shift and fair play to you on your personal trainer! You are a putting me to shame with your motivation.

everything sorry to hear you are all ill, hope it passes you by.

kbro have a nap yourself!

giraffes enjoy your hols, you too fanby

Sorry not to reply to everyone properly, am trying to steal a moment while grumpy 2 is vaguely happy in her chair but I can sense that she is starting to wonder why Mummy is ignoring her... Will try and read back properly and reply later. In the meantime I will post a picture of the thank you card that grumpy 1 has just made for friends of ours. Unfortunately I had to leave the room to change grumpy 2's nappy at the crucial moment - while she was spelling out the words 'thank you' - with hilarious disastrous results!

sianihedgehog · 03/02/2016 15:53

Oh god Slowife that's BRILLIANT! Grin

MaGratgarlik1983 · 03/02/2016 16:00

Hi all! Sorry for all the illness and bad sleep - it's over half way through the week though! Gave DS broccoli puree today...the look on his face! Appalled doesn't even come close! Am doing butternut squash tomorrow I think! He seemed to.like the pea Obe yesterday but then he pulls such faces I can never tell!

Met some friends today in Costa who for various reasons both had to leave after 30 mins. Felt quite arggh at having to get DS in and out the pram etc just for that. Ah well. Rhyme time made up for It!

Yes I love Mr du beke - totally inappropriate crush alert! He's old enough to be my dad...comfortably...but I can't help it! Also James may! It's all very odd...!

Cot napping is so hard. I'm keeping going with the morning one as DS is a nightmare if he doesn't get his morning sleep but trying to be a bit more flexible with the others.
