Oh fatty what a douche!!!

Lots of love to all you mums and non sleepy babies, I hope you're having super weekends to make up for it. My DH is currently in the kitchen cooking up a curry and I'm on the sofa with beer in hand and babe on boob! Hurrah to that!

We managed to nip to Aldi today, I say nip but there's not one that close to us! Managed to get a few treats and baby bargains! Including the pram - just wanted to forwarn people I found the wheels a bitch to put on!! Managed to get there though and looks good for 20ish quiddies!! xx

Tindel · 30/01/2016 18:56

fanby I went to our nearest Aldi for a nose, but no sign of the pram for sale, just loads of nappies. Curry and beer sounds good, having scaled down my cooking plans to stuff that doesn't take too long and can be reheated easily. DH and I occasionally get dinner together, but not much of the rest of the evening at present Sad

fatty what a git - I would assume a call that late was due to an emergency. That said, FIL once called the house at 645am to see if DH wanted a coupon he'd found!

kbro79 · 30/01/2016 19:12

Arrrrggg fatty I hate it when people do that. And pre child I hated people calling early in the morning too. That I am now less fussed about.

Good tip about the push chair fanby. Will NOT decide to assemble it 10 minutes before I need to be somewhere.

For you lily Flowers Funeral must have been v hard. So so sad. Hope knowing how loved she was, was in a tiny way a small comfort. Pleased that DS let you get so much needed rest that night too.

Ok send me your best napping tips. We are having a nightmare with napping. Nothing is working anymore - lap, sling, pram. It is so frustrating cause I can see he is so tired. And God knows it's not like he catches up on it at nighttime.

In cheerier news we are treating ourselves to take away curry tonight. Woohoo. Saturday's are so rock n roll now.

Dozygirl · 30/01/2016 19:29

Thinking of you lily. ❤

Fanby my dp put the wheels on the pram. I thought he was doing it wrong because it showed 'clicks' in the instructions but he was right. He doesn't even look at the instructions. It'll be perfect for holidays and to keep at my mums anyway. My only issue is it doesn't fold up as small as I would like for a holiday pram so I still think we need the one i suggested but I may need to just buy that out of my own money. My money is fast depleting though and it sucks not having money to save every month.

Fatty silly daddy. Everyone knows not to ring at that time unless it''s an emergency. Mines permanently on silent coz I can't be doing with message sounds and beeps. I only ever turn the sound on if I'm expecting a phone call because I don't always fee it vibrate. It's permanently in my hand anyway so it's not likely I'll miss anything.

On that subject, it's a nightmare now using your phone around the baby. She just wants it all the time. Think someone else has already mentioned that previously about their baby but I've forgotten who. My days of being constantly on my phone are numbered I think.

Pipers at the inlaws tonight. Don't feel as at ease when they have her. For starters fil gave her a chocolate biscuit on Friday when I wasnt watching. Then Mil said they had a travel cot but when i got there she'd put a full duvet in the bottom instead of the mattress. I wasn't happy about that. And they don't know her well enough to know how to settle her. She always cries when I'm at theirs with her and I take over to settle her. I'm sure they'll tell me everything has been fine and she's slept for a million hours which I know she doesn't do. And breathe.

kbro79 · 30/01/2016 19:48

Slow thanks for that link. Timely as we are seeing a friend tomorrow who is very lovely and very supportive but a big fan of the book I suspect she is referring to and keeps mentioning Aidan should be going 4 hours between feeds. Aidan does not think he should be going 4 hours between feeds and I am inclined to think he is the best judge of his own hunger.

Dozy you are good letting piper stay at the in laws. That at some point in the future will be a massive flash point between me and DH. Thankfully they live far away so can throw that into the long grass for now.

Clstow · 30/01/2016 20:10

I'm in exactly the same place as Kbro on the in-laws front, well done Dozy. Hope you have a good night whatever you're up to.

Doh to your Dad Fatty, not ideal at all.

Hope you're ok Lily and you're able to take it easy a bit this weekend. Grief is a funny thing, take care of yourself Flowers

Napping tips... Um... A few weeks ago I would have said white noise, dark room, bum patting, blah blah blah but DS will only go down for naps if we rock him again now. Not sure how that's happened as he used to self-settle in his cot, so I suppose my best tip is: Hang on in there, as Take That famously said - Everything Changes.

YUM to curry. Hope everyone is having a lovely Saturday night. My little snot monster is up and down so I've had beans on toast for dinner and am catching up on First Dates between resettles. Definitely one of the best programmes on TV I reckon.

FattyNinjaOwl · 30/01/2016 21:06

Mine will not ever be staying at the in laws.
They are fuckwits.
Anyways....
lily Flowers funerals are so tough. Hope you and your family are OK as can be.

I would have my phone in silent, but I need it on in case there's an emergency with my DB. He's nearly 14 and we are super close. He's like my child in some ways. I went everywhere and did everything with him, he even slept in my bed when he was a baby. He hated sleeping in his bed alone so would toddle into my room and sneak in with me, play with my hair to go to sleep. Luckily I didn't have to do nappies etc. But I did help make bottles up for him. My mum tried to breastfeed, but my dad kicked off about it, so he ended up being bottle fed.
My dad really is an arsehole. He argued with DB this morning (DB slept at mine last night) and he slammed my safety gate so hard he's broken it. Then wondered why DB told him he was going home and not going to his house. Dad also told me that Nathan is so fat he will put a strain on the NHS and its my fault, because if I hadnt gotten so fat, he wouldn't want to eat as much. WTF?
Angry argh.
Someone chuck us some aldi chocolate. Their milky ways are awesome!

Tindel · 31/01/2016 08:45

Your dad sounds like a real charmer fatty, hope the aldi chocolate was good.

Am in slight shock - I reckon J had about 11 hours sleep last night. Can't remember the last time we settled him so early! He wanted a feed as we went to bed and then slept till 530 AND went back down again. Ecstatically happy this morning, even though he refused a bottle last night and was sick in our bed this morning.

Hope you all have lovely Sundays - DH is going to try taking J swimming later, so hoping that will tire them both out Wink

mzzzf · 31/01/2016 10:20

Well done Tindel. That's awesome!!

My brief dalliance with sleep was well and truly s temporary thing. As it coincided with the end of a leap o thought it would only be one maybe two nights but giving me 5 nights made me think we'd turned a corner. I guess fucking not 😕 Last night was back to every 90mins...
At least on the plus side those of you coming to the end of the leap can expect some sleep...for a bit!

No hints on napping here. She's been 'up' since 7am and DH was pulling his hair out getting her to nap. Finally I got her down at 10am with a lot of tears and moaning 😔 God I can feel those wanky anxiety monkeys descending... I know it's developmental and that each of us has our own specific baby issues but it doesn't stop the "what am I doing wrong" questions does it?!

Arrrgh anyway! Fatty I have a bag of the treat size in my cupboard come and apply them to your face!

Clstow - I love first dates!! Might watch it later as a treat whilst applying my face to whatever fatty has left in the chocolate bin!

I really hope the rest of you are rocking out Sunday!

P.S. How sad about Sir Terry - Janet and John always had me in stitches. Ooooh I've just outed myself as a radio 2 devotee 🤓 Ahhh fuck it, I love it !

mzzzf · 31/01/2016 10:33

Oh and just wanted to add - Fatty your Dad (as you probably know!) is talking bollocks!!!!!! Bigger ladies, and you're not that big, can be at risk of both larger and smaller babies but he's just a big boy. He thriving, he's growing and moving and smashing it out the park. It's like he's heckling you!!
You could always deal with hecklers like Billy Connelly did when getting constantly interrupted by one
"Hey pal don't come in here telling me how to do my job. I don't come to your classes and tell you have to fingerpaint" 😁

OP posts:
FattyNinjaOwl · 31/01/2016 10:34

Thanks mzzzf
And those anxiety monkeys are bastards. Even I wonder where the hell I'm going wrong sometimes. Babies are wankers like that. It's a good job we love them.
Currently I'm sat on my arse, with a cup of tea. DS1 has finished the homework I told him to do today. (It took him less than 5 minutes, and its all right!) And is now playing with the cat. DD has her hair clipped out of her snot face and is eating biscuits and Nathan is playing happily with a blanket.
Now, times like this, I feel I'm winning if you ignore the housework I really should be doing while its peaceful

kbro79 · 31/01/2016 19:59

Am sure when Aidan is grown up and off living his life and forgetting to call his boring old mum I will look back so fondly on these moments but right now I wish I didn't have to spend ALL evening sat in the dark endlessly trying to settle.

Fatty you are totally winning!! Hope that feeling lasted all day. That was a mean and totally inaccurate thing of your dad to say. People comment on my DS size to and often say 'oh is he eating again'. Yes. Yes he is. And?

Mzzzf super sad about terry. (Also bit of a radio 2 listener.)

Think need to ease back on the weaning. DS has seemed uncomfortable all day and really strained to poo. Going to keep giving food 3 times a day but maybe exercise a bit more portion control as he got really blocked up bless him. He has a huge appetite but need to remember we are easing into it despite him wanting to polish everything in sight off.

Quiet thread today. Hope is cause everyone is off having awesome weekends.

sianihedgehog · 31/01/2016 20:13

Today I have chosen a childminder for DS, hung a curtain rail badly, and had a blinding row with DP because he had a huff that the bin was full. Not a brilliant day, all in.

DS is now crawling pretty effectively. Can't turn my back even for a minute because he's off and after the cats food, my shoes, or anything dangerous. DP ordered a playpen (one of the massive plastic sectional ones) today so hopefully that will make it easier!

He's actually really happy crawling about with his toys, there's just no where I can leave him to do it! Haven't managed to eat properly as a result, which is definitely not helping anyone.

MaGratgarlik1983 · 31/01/2016 20:26

Evening Augmums! Well we survived our weekend away! DS sat in his first highchair in pizza express and was really happy until he realised that no pizza was on its way to him! He got really annoyed at each mealtime and that combined with his chewing motions had lead me to conclude that it's probably time for some first tastes. Eek! He wasn't happy about bedtime in his room tonight either after staying up all night with us all weekend but I want to be firm on bedtime as he gets so overtired and grumpy otherwise!

Fatty that is so rubbish! Hope you're ok now. Mzzf enjoy first dates, we're just catching up on the voice. Kbro hope you're downstairs by now. have a good evening all.

MaGratgarlik1983 · 31/01/2016 20:27

X posts siani crawling wow! Hopefully the playpen will help!

Frolicacid · 31/01/2016 20:48

Ola mugabeans! Busy weekend of birthday celebrations chez frolic. Lots of food, family and friends - lovely 🙂 ignores the no sleep part I'm 36 tomorrow 😮 I still feel 16!

Trying to catch up, sorry if I've missed anyone .....

💐💐 lily. Friday will have been very emotionally draining. I hope you're taking it easy.

Yipppeeeee tindel, that's awesome sleepage 🙂 Well done j.

Great link slow, thank you. The anxiety monkeys had me ordering fenugreek tablets at 3am the other day.

mzzf, I love mr. Frolic, but would do anything for a dh who made me a bacon sarnie. Darn vegetarian!
I hope she finds her sleep mojo quickly again. And shoot those siding anxiety monkeys right out of the sky.

Tell your dad to fuck off fatty. You are totally winning by keeping 3 whole children alive and thriving.

Ds would eat everything in sight as well kbro. Are you giving water? Giving him a few syringes with every meal is helping keep the constipation at bay for us. And not giving porridge.
I also feel you on the endless evenings sat in the dark. You are right, one day we'll miss this.

Wow! To crawling siani! Very cool, but very stressful I can imagine. We only gave laminate floor in our lounge and Ds keeps face planting whenever he tries to push off. Or he ends up with fistfuls of play may. A new rug is on its way.

Glad you had a good weekend magrat.

Right, I am going to attempt to slip away quietly and finish off making a murderer. Wish me luck!

kbro79 · 31/01/2016 20:55

Yes frolic i meant to thank you for your syringe tip. Have been offering cup and then sneaking a couple of srygines of water in.

Crawling Saini???? Oh my god!

Dozygirl · 31/01/2016 22:43

Wow siani crawling!! Well done to your ds! Piper is trying to commando crawl so think she'll be on the move soon. I put toys out of her reach and she really tries her best to reach them. I kinda don't want her to crawl yet though lol

Dozygirl · 31/01/2016 22:44

Ooh and happy birthday day for tomorrow frolic. 36 is so young these days. I'll be 33 this year and definitely don't feel it.

mzzzf · 01/02/2016 07:46

Happy happy birthday frolic! 🎉🍰🎊🍷
36yrs young - arrghh I'm 36 this year too. It sounds so wrong doesn't it!?!
And yes the anxiety monkeys look exactly like that "fly my orettys fly" 🤓

Siani - woohoo to crawling! Mini mzzzf is doing spurts of 3 or 4 steps then sitting again. Did DS just 'switch on' and go for the continuous stuff?!
We've got a giant play pen ready for building - looks a little like jail though!! 😁
Well done on the childminder though - how did you know it was the right one in the end?

MaGra that sounds like he deffo wants some food! Glad you had a lovely weekend away and well done for being on it with bedtime. It's the only thing I'm routine about because without it she was a really (even crapper!) sleeper.

Riiiiiiight coffee anyone?! Surely we've got cake for breakfast with a birthday on the cards!! 😁

Tindel · 01/02/2016 08:28

Happy birthday frolic hope you have a lovely day. I wrote a long post last night and forgot to send it before I went to sleep! In short, well done to all of these mobile babies eating food, yes to anxiety monkeys and a hell yeah to cake for breakfast - found out last night that I lost a bit more weight, so I am definitely allowed some!

J tried his first highchair on Saturday - wasn't interested in the cake, but he definitely liked sitting at the table and having a good nose round at everything

kbro79 · 01/02/2016 08:35

Happy bday froliv!! 36 years young. I'm 37 this year. That's like nearly 40!!!

FattyNinjaOwl · 01/02/2016 09:20

Happy birthday frolic

I haven't been to sleep yet.

Yay to mobile babies! This is when the fun starts! I have a big travel cot that I shove Nathan in when I need to get stuff done so he's not getting up to mischief with his sister. I told DP to watch them yesterday while I went to the toilet, came back to the pair of them covered in DVDs. They had pulled them all off the TV stand. DP was playing pet rescue Hmm

loveandsmiles · 01/02/2016 09:41

Hi all - haven't had time to read back yet - will later.

Had the worst weekend ever - sick since Thursday night - lost 5kg - look bloody awful😓. Last night was the first night I wasn't sick. I am rarely so ill that I can't get up but lay in bed for 3 days. DH stepped up to the mark by keeping DC fed and entertained - he even bathed and changed babyloves nappies for the first time!! Unfortunately I had to have her all night - awake, crying and coughing. BUT got up this morning and came downstairs - the mess is indescribable - I am cryingSad

Sorry for my woe is me post - love to all xx

FattyNinjaOwl · 01/02/2016 10:02

Oh love its so difficult when you're unwell, especially because men don't seem to realise that housework isnt actually done by fairies!
