Oh well it started because I ended up dropping an entire bowl of yoghurt and fruit down me and then everything else just started, can't cope, tiredness, mum guilt etc etc. A vicar came over to calm me down!! Lovely guy, not religious in the slightest but what a great man, totes my new bestie!

Oh fatty - he's just too cute!! Molly has her first venture into 6-9months clothes today lol

Frolic - I reckon Im totally due on too! Hope the smear was ok!

Ahh hold on she's awake...been up a lot, dreadful cold for both of us so lots of extra feeds as I reckon her throat is sore too x

loveandsmiles · 28/01/2016 07:06

No 💩💩 last night just endless coughing - when will I ever get a few hours???

fatty can't believe how much Nathan can eat - babyloves has had no food yet - showing no interest at all - would rather have a boob in her mouth day and night! I haven't started properly toilet training DD4 yet and she is nearly 3 - all of my DC at almost 3 have just 'got it' and used the toilet - no accidents, no mess - waiting for that moment!

random we are still in 0-3 months even though she will be 6 months next Sunday . Like you tindel I want to put the next size up on her as will be nice to see her in some different outfits.

frolic I survived another Mumafit and am going to another class today - some nice mums there.

mzzzf lol at being able to hear your DH huffing on the baby monitirGrin. My DH was home late last night and grumbling at me because I didn't take DC to swim club - I hate Wednesday nights with a passion as we are out of the house from 5.30-9pm and last night I just couldn't face it - feel too tired - DH said just because I have started a new exercise class and feel tired it's not fair to not take DC to their classes - omg - words fail meAngry

mzzzf · 28/01/2016 07:34

Ah Fanby - those situations are only made worse by someone asking 'are you ok?' To which the only answer a women on the edge can give is a high pitched 'yes' whilst bursting into tears. You are not on your own missus!!!

Loves - how bloody selfish of you!! You really shouldn't put your own health as a priority. Argh sometimes I think the most irking thing about DHs is their simplicity in 'problem solving'. Like mentioned earlier in the week they see a problem and want to fix it, a+b = c and that's it. They're such linear thinkers, great for hunter gathering etc, not so much for dealing with babies and recently pregnant women! Nevermind the last baby, I'd be knackered with 5 others to see to anyway!! Gaaaah I'm thinking now if I can handle another or not!!

So despite bleeding everyday for the past 9 weeks due to my body adapting to the mini pill, I've now started a period too!! Fucking grrrreat!!
Sore tummy, headaches and the overriding need to put Nutella on everything - including my face!!

Frolicacid · 28/01/2016 08:07

Good morning!
Today's mission chez frolic is to be more positive! All the thoughts going round my head about low milk supply, bottle refusing. Sleep fighting etc, etc, are really unhelpful. Time to look on the bright side, accept things as they are and enjoy these next 15 weeks at home. I'll never get the time spent stressing and worrying back.

jockstar, I think I'd need way more than s sorts bra if I was to try anything vigourus. Some scaffold maybe?

fanby, I always find vicars really calming, despite not having a religious bone in me.

Oh dear, loves . What was he thinking spouting such rubbish?

Are we all syncing our periods then?! Another step closer to commune life! Nutella facials sound excellent to me right now mzzf.

Off we pop to aldi. Happy Thursday augabeans 🙂

FattyNinjaOwl · 28/01/2016 10:29

I think we may be syncing periods. I'm due on early next week.
Nathan slept last night!
DD didn't. Sad

kbro79 · 28/01/2016 10:50

DS just did his first post solid food poo and it made him cry. He did not like it. And neither did I. Milk only poos are much easier.

We had a slightly better night last night although he did spend most of it on bed with us. But I take what I can on the sleep front.

Ah fanby it's the little things like spilt yoghurt that open the gateway to everything else. I knocked our coat stand over last night and suddenly felt the weight of the world on my shoulders. But as fatty wisely said the other day - we've done 6 months and coped we can do this!!!

Ah frolic I feel your pain on things left in car. Our rain cover is also in the car and we keep forgetting to grab it. Our car also far enough away to mean we are soaked by time I'd have got it. That said the weather is lovely here today. Much brighter.

Philadelphia on toast for breakfast has been a hit. No just enjoying our morning nap lap whilst I attempt to read a book!!

Waiting in for plumber then I am hitting aldi. Also want the stroller.

Fanby · 28/01/2016 10:55

Wow loveandsmiles - you did very well not to punch DH after that, unless you did punch him??

Oh mzzzf - not the period GAAAAAH! Didn't know you'd been bleeding for that long. DH wants me to go back on the pill but don't think I'm going too....oh the joys of being female!

Frolic - send some of the positive attitude vibes my way please - along with any Aldi goodies you pick up ;)

Kbro - solid poos scare me!

x

MaGratgarlik1983 · 28/01/2016 11:10

Well we survived bookclub hosting despite DS waking up and not going back to bed til ten! Frolic I had my smear this morning too! Just in Nero fir a cheeky coffee then might see what the aldi thing is all about. We're off for a weekend away tomorrow though so I really should pack!

randomsabreuse · 28/01/2016 11:11

Just off to Aldi here too. Also AF just finished - spooky!

Just realised that even if the nappy has contained the poo you're not quite out of the woods with keeping the same outfit - the ridiculous length sleeves caused by narrow chest/shoulders with marauding hands are very much at risk. Any tricks of the trade? I do try to hold all 4 limbs while cleaning but she can escape and the free limb is straight in the danger area!

I never got on with the mini pill - fantastic contraception aka no desire - but bled for the entire 3 months so didn't renew. No hormonal contraception for me then!

Frolicacid · 28/01/2016 11:34

I survived the aldi and the smear! Ds has been a superstar all morning. I'm ignoring the fact that we tried another bottle, but no joy.
Got fuckloads of stuff from aldi. Teething toys, nappies, big boxes of wipes, loads of weaning stuff and a stair gate

And the nurse said my womb of doom is looking clear. Wooo hoo!

Check us out with our synchronised periods!

Where are you off to magrat? Anywhere nice?

We've been having similar poo problems random. I try to give him a toy to hold during changes, and get them done as quick as possible!

Here is a nice, positive rainbow for you fanby 🌈

I'm off to meet a friend today who is 39 weeks pregnant. The food where we're meeting is awesome! Would it be rude to offer to swap grumpy, non sleeping Ds for her lovely squishy newborn when he arrives? 😉

kbro79 · 28/01/2016 11:39

Frolic she'd probably say yes and assume a five month old is loads easier than a newborn. I know I did.

mzzzf · 28/01/2016 14:12

Aldi goodies GOT!! And some of their choc may have slipped into the trolley too!! 😁

Weather is proper howling here so will eat said choc to amend for millions of calories burned in wet weather shopping!!! 😁

Argh feel I'm missing out by not going to Aldi. Instead am on a mission to get my hair cut today... Aldi need to get themselves an in store hairdresser 💇

kbro79 · 28/01/2016 14:39

Erm mummy don't you normally put a bib on me?

SHIT

Mugabe Nights: sometimes you wanna go where everybody knows your (sleep deprived) pain!
sianihedgehog · 28/01/2016 14:51

Oh shit, I forgot about Aldi!!
Not keeping up as well as usual because DS is getting so nosy - he won't feed if he sees my phone, just starts swivelling about and grabbing it. He's also mastered his commando crawl, so it's all a bit intensive now, no wandering attention allowed!
fatty DS is in 9-12 in Primark clothes, and Toby Tiger, but still juuuuust fits 3-6 from M&S.

I didn't get on with the mini pill either, I had month long periods at completely random times. I don't want to go back on birth control anyways, I'd be delighted to have another. Not sure DP is quite so keen!

MaGratgarlik1983 · 28/01/2016 16:01

Hehe I know what you mean siani! I have to work on convincing DH! The weather here is sunny but cold. Survived town and came home. DS got really grumpy tired around 20 mins ago so put him up for a nap. Seemed happy but I can still hear him smack downing his legs up there!! How odd. Maybe just needed a bit of quiet time?! We are off to Bristol tomorrow and I have almost packed everything!!

MaGratgarlik1983 · 28/01/2016 16:03

And now he's humming??

Slowifeandthegrumpydwarfs · 28/01/2016 19:27

Just snorted tea out of my nose at your smear test story joskar! Brilliant.

Pushchair wise we've got a Maclaren Techno XT for when we need an umbrella-fold. It's done planes, trains and automobiles and it's brill. We did get the more luxurious buggy because grumpy 1 spent a lot of time in it from very small, the perils of being a London baby and having to use public transport. It was worth every penny though.

Slowifeandthegrumpydwarfs · 28/01/2016 20:17

Right, that's grumpy 2 down so time for a longer post.

joskar We have watched Arne Dahl on BBC4 and its pretty good. It's no 'The Bridge' or 'The Killing' but it passes the time.

frolic glad you are feeling better. And hell yes to frustration at amnesiac husbands. DH can't remember shit at the best of times and at the moment its a miracle he knows his own name. It drives me nuts as it puts all the pressure on my sleep-deprived Mum brain to remember everything for all 4 of us. ARGH!

dozy It is irritating when the nappies consistently leak. I had a set of Tots Bots ones for grumpy 1 that did the same thing and I ended up so pissed off with them I sent them back to the manufacturer with a long letter explaining how useless they were as a nappy but would make quite a good colander! I'm one of the ones who swears by Motherease, but rather than have the expense of a whole new set of nappies try stuffing one or two of these www.thelittlenappyshop.co.uk/product/nature_babies_microfibre_booster into your Little Lambs overnight and see if that makes any difference? Grumpy 2 has three microfibre boosters in her night nappies now.

Enjoy Bristol magrat we are down there in a couple of weeks visiting family. Great city. Is DS still humming? What tune was it Grin?

Weirdness about everyone's AF. Mine finished a couple of days ago but they are very irregular at the moment - its only the second one in five months.

kbro grumpy 1 had a comedy bib that said 'I got 99 problems but a bib ain't one'. Looks like your DS has taken that literally Smile

Clothes-wise we are still in 3-6 but she is only 5 months today (happy 5 month birthday grumpy 2!) Having said that it is getting harder to fold her legs into her snowsuit and her vests are getting snug over the nappy. I was contemplating earlier getting down the bag of 6-9 and starting to wash/sort through it all.

We went back to the weighing clinic yesterday and she has dropped a tiny bit again so she is now just under the 50th (she was born on the 50th). Fortunately we had a sensible HV who was also training a new lady. I was pleased to hear her explaining to her trainee that this pattern is very common in ebf babies and is not accommodated for by the red book charts. Anyway we are only a few weeks off weaning now so it'll all change again soon enough.

Right, thinking sleepy thoughts to everyone. We all have colds again here (grumpy 1 is off school on antibiotics for her chest infection Sad) so not much sleep in the dwarf house this week yawn

Dozygirl · 28/01/2016 20:20

Same here to adding chocolate into my aldi shop. I ate a while 69p bunny in one and felt sooooo sick afterwards. So then I ate 3 whole raw carrots for lunch to make me feel better.

randomsabreuse · 28/01/2016 21:38

Still avoiding chocolate/dairy etc. Dr said to wean carefully and see what happens then will refer if we still have issues/allergies/rejection of food/milk. Annoying but lots of the nice Aldi ones have egg...

Caffeine also sub- optimal. Sinned with leftover coke, up comes next feed pretty well instantly. We're still under the 25th percentile on my scales - just under including nappy so probably a fair bit with huge cloth bum.

Dozy I'm no help on night nappies. Against all conventional wisdom she goes 10-7 including morning feed in a little lamb or tjs pocket nappy with just a microfibre and 1 bamboo booster and hasn't usually soaked that. Well soaked once up for the day - next one does about an hour before leaks.

Slow - have you tried vest extenders - my DH managed to get her in a Newborn top (done up just) a couple of nights ago. Stuffed vest extender on and it was a perfect fit! One way of getting more wear out of stuff.

Am trying to put things away in organised vacuum bags as I finish with them but need to deal with the smallest sizes first. Chaos seems to reign eternal and I never catch up with the washing/ housework.

Must try ninja transfer to cot and sort my bombsite of a kitchen!

Joskar · 28/01/2016 23:06

More boosters. The hemp ones are good or microfibre. I hear good things about charcoal but haven't tried them. Or rewaterproofing the wraps. There's some stuff you get in camping shops that does it. Dd2 isn't a heavy night wetter - or any time actually - so it's grand. Dd1 is in a dispo at night because I'm too lazy and she pees like a horse at the moment. Nothing must wake her up earlier because I'm only just surviving as it is.

Smashed the marking this morning. Dropped it off this afternoon. I'm winning big points with the boss for my kindness. Made me feel like a real person again too.

Where do you get these vest extenders? Never needed them last time!

Oh man btw Lidl do this amazing chocolate pudding in their Italian week. So good.

I downloaded the couch to 5k app. That's totes the same as actually running it, eh?!

What book are you reading, magrat? My group is next week (in the pub) and we're doing some bloody awful thing called The Husband's Secret. Not my bag at all.

Taking dd1 for her first ever haircut tomorrow. Really hoping the girls behave. Then dance class in the afternoon. Think dd2 enjoys that just as much. She giggles away. V cute.

What are folk up to this weekend?

rrra · 29/01/2016 02:57

New lows here. Actually just gave up and took baby downstairs so I could have something to eat. He just won't settle. He has a horrible cold and compulsion to roll onto his belly but doesn't want to sleep that way. Have had about an hours sleep so far. Been trying to get him down since I gave calpol at 12. Literally worst night yet.

mzzzf · 29/01/2016 08:10

Right I am clearly tempting fate typing this (smacks own forehead!) but since Sunday night mini mzzzf has been sleeping solidly from 1-6.30am. What the actual fuckedy do?!!!! She's taking longer to 'get down' and has several needs to settle from her bedtime until ours and still has a 12-1am feed but my goodness I've had the magic 4hrs all this week!!! This is the first regular sleep I've had in EONS! Mein gott!!!!

Is this the change happening?! She's also changed her daytime naps and she's a 3 X a day girl now, not huge ones but at least 30mims each... She's 6 months in 4 days so maybe her brain is starting to get it!! Although still a real clingy whinger during the day! 😁

Also started on The Bridge yesterday, likely to watch more today as the weather is a right windy one. I've forgotten what storm name we're on now!!
