Evening

tindel I liked Breaking Bad too, I'm still upset that Hank got shot Grin Friday's off sounds good!

loves and Joskar don't feel bad about accidents. Dd1 somehow fell off a bed when she was this age but couldn't crawl or roll, I assume she flew.... Dd2 still has a slight dent on her head from where I accidentally bashed her on a doorframe when she was a few weeks old and I was carrying her whilst playing hide and seek with dd1 Blush I feel really bad about it, I haven't done it since...

siani I love childminders and have asked mine to be dd1s godmother Smile. I visited lots as well as nurseries, read their ofsted reports etc. I'd have a few key questions in your head, like what they do for naps, holidays, what a typical day is like in their care etc. depending on your area some may be very popular and oversubscribed so it can be about creating rapport and selling yourself to them too (I had to fight to get a place in London). I'd go with a gut instinct on who you like and trust, I've loved mine (as does dd). They follow the same eyfs curriculum as nurseries so don't worry about them becoming indoctrinated Smile

mzzf loving all the fitness tips!

I've had a grumpy day, fed up with January, a moaning 4 year old and a baby who suddenly wants constant entertainment (isn't that what jumperoos are for?!) I feel like I have too much to do and not enough hands. And tonight I spotted I've lost some patches of hair on my head Sad hopefully it's just childbirth related (so Dr Google says...). Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day.

Dozygirl · 26/01/2016 22:43

Giraffe 🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈 spoiler alert for those still to watch it 😂😂😂

Mzzzf breaking bad gets better but if u make it to an episode about a fly DO NOT WATCH IT!!!! It's a completely pointless episode where nothing happens and I'm not even exaggerating.

Frolic how on earth did u microwave a peg?! This made me lol.

Lily hope all goes well on Friday (i think that's when u said it was, apologies if i got wrong day) hopefully it is a good send off if that makes sense xx

I was one of those 'my baby sleeps through the night' kind of mum's. Doesn't mean I didn't know it could all change but at the time she slept through so it was true lol. I still don't really class what piper has as sleep regression either as it's not as bad as some babies regression but she doesn't sleep through like she used to so I'm not sure what it is. 9/10 times she ends up in my bed because I can't be arsed keep getting up to settle her whereas if she's next to me I just shove her dummy back in and she goes back off. However if she stays over at my mums then she bloody sleeps through for her doesn't she! How unfair is that. And my mum is the lightest sleep so she definitely doesn't not hear her.

Aldi baby event starts Thursday. I'm strangely very excited for this haha. The things we get about excited about these days hey. Didn't bother with the Asda baby event but the aldi one looks good.

Frolicacid · 26/01/2016 23:08

I had my first taste of freedom! Took frolicdog for her boosters. The vet is 40 mins away, so Ds was without me for almost 2 hours. I got home to a screaming baby and a very harassed looking dh. No bottle drinking tonight.
I was gutted to see him so upset. The way he clung to me and wobbled his bottom lip when I got back was bloody heart wrenching. We need more seperation practice I think.

I'm bloody shattered and can't remember who said what, sorry. The peg was on a packet of rice I heated up
Dh and I have spent all evening after Ds finally gave in to sleep debating buying a rug. What a palaver. 2 sleep deprived adults + 1 decision to be made = hours of stress. And why the fuck are rugs so expensive? It would be cheaper to carpet the whole room.

The aldi baby event have some miosolo's - all in one cloth nappies. I love the ones I have already and use them most days. No leaking and they wash and dry really well. The aldi ones are pretty much half price. Might be worth a try for those of you using cloth?

I really should've been asleep 2 hours ago 😴 Night night mugabeans

Dozygirl · 27/01/2016 00:08

I've seen too many comments on the preloved bambino mio page of the wraps breaking after a short time so although they are super cute looking I don't think I'll be buying any.

Stayed up late googling prams to take on a flight. Find a mountain buggy nano that seems it would solve all my worries as you can attach the car seat too it and supposedly small enough to fit into overhead thing on plane. Just need to persuade do to buy it for me heehee.

loveandsmiles · 27/01/2016 06:38

Morning all😀😀. Babyloves has a new 'trick' 💩💩💩💩💩 in the middle of the night instead of day time - 3 nights in a row now, she has done 2 poos - change one then spend an hour settling her, off to sleep for an hour and then poo again - nooooooo - I do no need thisSad

tindel DS needs his hair styled too - like a hairdressers in my house in the morning - have to plait DD2& 3 hair for school to avoid the dreaded nits, fight with toddler to tie hers up and brush babyloves - fortunately DD1 sorts herself out!

kbro glad you enjoyed yoga

frolic you have made me lol at your microwaved peg and towelling pants!!

mcgrat babyloves likes the Jumperoo but still can't reach the floor so when she is in it I have to do the bouncing for her - had to ban toddler from 'helping' with this due to very vigorous bouncing Grin

lily wow DS looks like he is really enjoying his food!

clstow lol at your DP being an 'expert' on baby led weaning - will be very interested to see how he gets on - make sure you get him to clean up all the mess!!

slow haha at dancing baby - my 8 and 6 year old love playing house with babyloves - why use a doll when there is a real, live, baby!!

giraffe hope you have a better day today X

dozy a pram doesn't have to fit in an overhead locker - anytime I've flown with a pram I've been able to take it right up to aircraft then they've put it in the hold and got it out immediately on landing - hope you persuade DP to buy you a nice one.

Off to Mumafit again today - just recovered from last week - seems worse this week as I know what to expect - ignorance was blissGrin

Fanby · 27/01/2016 08:53

I'm a alive!! Did anyone miss me? Ha! Just caught up on all the exploits but there is just too much for me to get back to you on individually so sorry for that. Will do better!

So had a lovely weekend in Brighton, had a bit of a breakdown at breakfast one morning but let's gloss over that! Sleep is shitter than shit, we now have no naps and a cranky baby but thanks to the biscuits I'm surviving! Hurrah! Today is a new day and I'm yet to discover who has been evicted from cbb so looking forward to settling down with a cuppa and watching that laters!

Supposed to be going to storytime at the library this morning and then to lunch but might sack them both off. Such a rebel!

Mugabe Nights: sometimes you wanna go where everybody knows your (sleep deprived) pain!
mzzzf · 27/01/2016 09:17

Ahh Fanby was thinking you were MIA!! Why the breakdown?!

Sack both things off, put pjs on now and add a dash of baileys to the coffee!!! 😁

Dozygirl · 27/01/2016 11:35

Have a chill morning fanby that's what I'm doing. Even though we had poo and wee leakage thanks to the antibiotics, we'd had a bad night so I felt a joint morning nap was in order. I hate getting out of bed when the weather is so horrible but I really need to get out of the house.

Tindel · 27/01/2016 12:21

We've also had a chilled morning - did go outside with the pram, which is my current way of getting J to nap in the morning. He's been out for almost 2 hours now, so will have to wake him for a feed if we are going to make yoga.

giraffes without getting too spoiler-y Hank was probably my favourite character - I didn't like him at first, but I loved how his story and character progressed.

fanby sorry to hear about the breakdown, but glad you had a nice time in Brighton - I love it there and want to take J at some point soon.

FattyNinjaOwl · 27/01/2016 12:35

Hello all! I have read back but I can't remember a thing Confused
I've had to put Nathan in 9-12 month clothes. They are a bit long, but at least the poppers arent coming open...
DD still wears 9-12 skirts as the waist is too big on 12-18 (pants she has to wear 12-18 as they are too short in the leg if she doesn't)

Mugabe Nights: sometimes you wanna go where everybody knows your (sleep deprived) pain!
randomsabreuse · 27/01/2016 15:01

Wow on the 9-12!

Things where the length doesn't matter or with vest extenders we can still do 0-3. Some newborn stuff also fits with extenders but starting to worry about toe pressure in 3-6 sleep suits. Taking after her dad and not me.

Had a play with some banana at the weekend - licked some off my finger but otherwise uninterested. Will have another play at the weekend.

Just can't keep up with baby brain!

Tindel · 27/01/2016 17:54

Go Nathan! J is still in 0-3, but think he will be out of them soon - toes are starting to run out of room and there is a bit of gaping round the thighs! We have some really nice stuff ready for the next size up, can't wait to get him in them!

Frolicacid · 27/01/2016 19:52

Hello! Today can fuck right off. Bottle refusing, clingyness and nap fighting do not make me happy.
Dh is doing my head in and I've got the proper rage. I wander if I'm going to have another period.
And I've got a smear test in the morning. Woo hooo! Lucky me!

That's interesting about the bambino mio's dozy. Some of my wraps are still like new, despite being from my friend who used them 10 years ago.
Have you seen anything else good that's going to be in the event?

I hope you survived mumafit loves?

I missed you fanby! Molly is looking very cool in her raybans 😎.
I hope you're ok after the meltdown and that you had a good old sofa day today.

9-12 clothes . What on earth are you feeding him fatty?

I hope everyone has had a good day.

FattyNinjaOwl · 27/01/2016 20:21

9-12 clothes . What on earth are you feeding him fatty?

Erm, its usually around 5 8oz bottles of hungry baby milk, and 3 meals which can vary. Anything from porridge to cottage pie and home made pizza slices. (Usually whatever we are having)

To be fair it think he may have been the biggest at birth. He was 10lb 10.5oz so he's always been on the big side. Never fitted into newborn clothes.

Frolicacid · 27/01/2016 20:31

Sorry if that sounded critical - not at all what I meant. He's going to be a big strapping lad 🙂 None of the boys will mess his big sis around!
Now I want cottage pie, but am pinned under a cranky baby.

FattyNinjaOwl · 27/01/2016 20:35

Haha. Not at all, i used to get it with DS1 too.
To be honest, big sister will probably be the one looking after the boys! She's a feisty little thing. 😂

kbro79 · 27/01/2016 21:31

Oh for the love of God just lost my post. I hate it when that happens. Also a bit too tired to re type so highlights:

Fanby and frolic love and hugs to you both for having tough day / breakdown time.

Clstow we are weaning but slowly as he's not 6 months so taking my time. Started with banana, carrot and avocado. Also fought my choking fear and let him hold some bread.

Fatty what's the deal with porridge - do I have to give baby porridge or can he have normal porridge??

Am doing to dance of sleep for us all. Coming augobabies. Let's sleep.

Frolicacid · 27/01/2016 21:37

Phew! Having a bad enough day without insulting lovely people accidentally fatty!

Thanks for the sleep dance kbro 🙂

mzzzf · 27/01/2016 21:59

Ahh frolic you have deffo got the rage!! Have a shot and Bueno and calm your beans. It's so bloody frustrating this parenting shit isn't it?! And that fact that DH's don't really 'get it' this being at home with some folk all day, every day - unless they end up doing parental leave themselves!

My DH is currently huffing and (I can hear him on the baby monitor) because I've asked him to tag in on the last few minutes of bedtime because I felt the joyless period 'flood' feeling and needed to sort asap (tmi!) he then rushed the last part of bedtime settling and then got the jump that 10mins later she is crying again and needing to be settled. I am very close to going up to help but part of me is being stubborn and thinking "no he's got to deal with this too" yup it's shit not having an evening/anytime for yourself... Gawd I sound like a rig cow, because he's a great DH, it's just sometimes they really piss you off!!! 😁

I find it reassuring the read all the wonder weeks stuff at hard times, as us sally 'mother feelings' are indicated in a leap too. Us feeling shit is a strong indicator of a developmental leap!

Annoying day here, the one time in ages I was ready on the dot for playgroup and it was effing cancelled - wtf?!
Will be loading up at Aldi tomorrow, bottles, weaning stuff, baby proofing stuff, cheap nappies and wipes - oh and I'll be putting several miser roth choc bars in too!!! YUMMO!

Kbro - I do baby porridge, it's easier for me as I only have to add water rather than dd's big gloopy reflux milk. But I'm pretty sure you can use normal porridge or s,used up weetabix at to stage now.

I'm in with fatty - mini mzzzf is in some 9-12 baby grows (brand dependent) she's so bloody long with giant feet. Width wise she can still squeeze into 3month stuff but the sleeve and trouser length is rather short, she's got jack ups!!! 😁😁 most of her clothes now are 6-9mths. Massive growth phase recently - ooooh that's a point, isn't there another growth spurt at 6 months?!

OP posts:
Tindel · 27/01/2016 22:02

Thanks for the sleep dance kbro - it seems to be working so far. It took some settling and multiple feeds, but J seems to have gone down for the night.

Dozygirl · 27/01/2016 22:44

Wow big long babies on this group. Dd still fitted in her 0-3 but I decided just to move on to 3-6 and get my wear out of them . They fit well now but still plenty of room.

I'm hoping for a better night than last night but I'm not holding out hope. My heating is hopefully going to be fixed tomorrow so that should help. It works but it's either on or off rather than a set temp so it's either too hot or too cold and I think the cold wakes her up so tonight I'm trying it warm but turned her radiator down.

Frolic I love aldi events and end up just buying everything even if I don't need just because it looks like a good deal haha. So I'm sure I'll come out with a trolley load of stuff. I want the cheapo pushchair though as a second one for holidays. The one I wanted to buy holidays do won't let me buy as it's nearly 200 quid which is pants. I might see what this aldi one is like and then sneakily get the other one anyway hehe. Hope you have a better day tomorrow. Draw a line under today and start again.

Frolicacid · 27/01/2016 22:53

3rd feed since going down at 8! Surely I should be loosing weight from all this bf'ing.
Ah well, tomorrow is another day and all that.

I'd forgot about the wonder weeks. Thanks for the reminder mzzf. We have just started the relationships one, which totally explains the clingyness etc.
My dh is also great. I just wanted to kill him today because he left the rain cover in the car last night, despite me asking him to bring it in. We have to park a way away, so It was a bit shit. I hate feeling like I'm always nagging him, but he can't remember stuff like that for shit.

I just made a list for aldi dozy, but will probably buy too much. Is it a bit sad that I'm thinking of going really early?
I hope you have a better night tonight.

Joskar · 27/01/2016 23:18

We have a Silver Cross Pop which we bought to take on holiday. It's good because it can go flat and has a huge sunshade so the baby can sleep when you are out for meals.

Went in to work to show off my lovely girl and eat cake. Came home with a packet of marking. I am a total fannybaws.

Finally bought dd1 some new shoes. Got them for £10 in the Clark's sale. Boom! Kids' shoes are ruinous. We got Clarks vouchers for dd1's first birthday. An excellent present. Will definitely ask for it for dd2's first birthday.

Dd2 is the same weight at 4.5 months as her sister was at 9 months. We need to move into the 6-9 month clothes. I can't bear it! It's too fast! Mind you I can remember getting so bored of dd1 being in the same stuff for months and months and complaining about that. Clearly I'm just a moany old goat.

Also have a smear booked. My friend was giving me serious grief about it because I haven't been in years. It's so important. I'm so damn lazy! Anyway it's done now so just have to show up, lie back and try not to laugh as I once did and the doofer shot out and hit the nurse in the face

No spoilers for Breaking Bad please! I'm enjoying it so far but only three episodes in. It's not as good as The Bridge yet but still very watchable. We got it out the library and having a look at their catalogue I see they have Arne Dahl. Has anyone seen it? Any good?

No weaning yet. She can have wee licks but I really can't face the nappies yet. Slowly potty training dd1 and I can't cope with dealing with more shite. On that subject actually we use cloth too and haven't got on well with bambino mio wraps. Too small in the gussets I think. Dunno. I also didn't like Motherease which everyone swears by. I like Little Lambs. Reckon they're pretty bomb proof.

When January is done I'm cutting the chocolate out and going to get on it with the shred. Will I need a sports bra for my ginormous norms?

FattyNinjaOwl · 27/01/2016 23:29

You can use normal porridge if you want. Nathan prefers baby porridge though. And weetabix. He loves weetabix with a banana.
I'm also potty training! DD has finally decided she likes the potty a bit more now. My dad tried telling me its about time! She turned two a month ago for gods sake!
He's complaining because DS1 was potty trained at 15 months. But he was (and is) very very advanced.
And go be fair I think just turned 2 is still young to be potty training!

Dozygirl · 28/01/2016 06:08

Joskar how do u get on with little lambs overnight? I'm struggling to make them last. I put her in a size 2 last night to see if a bigger size would help but she was soaking this morning whereas a disposable will last much longer. It just really annoys me that they don't work and they were classed as really thirsty nappies but I just don't find that the case. I love using them in the day time but she's not much of a heavy wetter in the day.
