Mugabe!
After last night's success, we are now back to 2 hourly waking 😞
Expresso martini anyone?

I'm too bleary eyed to answer you all properly - but thank you, mzzf for making me feel better about the amount of pillows i use! I was getting so sore from feeding that I now have 3 pillows, a v pillow and a feeding cushion im use for night feeds. It's really helped.

I hope the quiet bar means that most of you are asleep!

rrra · 13/12/2015 04:04

I'm here. Have had 2 hours, then 1 hour then 2 hours sleep so far. I am so tired. Really don't know what to do for the best. Swing between going with it, to wanting to introduce routine and formula NOW, to deciding to wait until after Xmas. I'm so tired that I don't even have the energy to make a decision.

I use two pillows plus a v pillow. Could do with another really!

I'd like sloe gin with prosecco I think. Delicious!

FattySantaRobin · 13/12/2015 05:24

I'm here. Have been since 3.
I've got the squits so I've been running to the loo every 2 seconds. I can't even drink water. Sad

everythingispeachy · 13/12/2015 05:42

Oh no fatty hope you feel better soon. Can you get some help with the kids today so you can rest?

FattySantaRobin · 13/12/2015 05:44

I have DP here. He's now downstairs with all the DC (they are all awake for some reason) and I'm in bed. I still can't sleep though because of the awful cramps. And the kitten is trying to sleep on me but I have to keep moving so he's not very happy with me.

mzzzf · 13/12/2015 09:38

Waaaaah!! A Christmas miracle has happened!! Mini mzzzf slept for 6hrs, well aside from a dummy at 4.5hrs. WTF?! Is this what sleep feels like??
I know it's a drop in the ocean compared to what some gave you get/got but this is the first time she's slept longer. I even got us and came down to make myself a coffee!!! OMG!

This could purely be a fluke, I totally get that, ooooorrrrr could this signal the long long long awaiting end of shitty sleep and regression?! Dare I bloody hope this?!

I did also go against lots of safety advice and padded her cot out like the inside of a teddy bear. She sleep on/in a folded super king fluffy blanket. Totally unsafe and would evoke cries of 'danger danger' from the 'elf and safety lot buuuuut they can fuck right off she slept!!!!! 😁

rrra · 13/12/2015 10:10

Mzzzf, good for you. I'm so jealous and will totally be trying the padding for myself tonight!

rrra · 13/12/2015 10:12

Was it a blanket or a duvet?

mzzzf · 13/12/2015 10:25

A huge super soft blanket but I imagine a folded duvet would have the same effect.

kbro79 · 13/12/2015 10:42

6 hours is awesome!!! Well done. I am in a great mood too as DS slept for 4 hours in a row. Fed. Then slept for nearly 3. Poo. Feed. Co slept for a wee bit longer too. Nowhere near sleeping through but this is the most sleep we have had for weeks!! I feel like I could broker peace in the Middle East or cure cancer. But I'll settle for writing some Christmas cards instead. Am not getting my hopes up it being the end of sleep regression as was possible just exhaustion from Friday night which involved hourly wake ups and yesterday afternoon we had swimming which always tires babies out (apart from when it doesn't, obvs) Sorry to everyone suffering though. Keep the faith it can change.

Bedtime I have no idea what am doing either. DS seems to want us both to spend the evening in the dark feeding and cuddling. He increasingly doesn't like being in living room with us though but will NOT under any circumstances get into his cot. That is borderline offensive suggestion apparently.

Oh and clstow massive well done on the cot naps. Any tips??

Nolonger enjoy Santa!! I can't wait till DS is old enough to get it!!

Joskar · 13/12/2015 10:43

Also have d and v. So, so sick. So, so thirsty. The children and draining me dry!

randomsabreuse · 13/12/2015 10:56

Bit zonked here. Although she slept for 5 hours when she went it was a total battle and we're back to hourly nappy changes in the day due to poo. Friday night was 3 poos in the night (4, 5 and 6) so last night was an improvement but she fought sleep so hard and was velcro all evening but also requiring attention - DH wasn't even allowed to write Christmas cards with her on his lap and the tv on.

DH is a vet - horses hence the risk to his head! So he does what he can but I tend to prioritise his sleep when I can.

Dreading the transition to cot - still in moses basket and will swap over Christmas as we're fairly free and DH only working every 3 days so better time for sleep deprivation.

My DPs are here for "Christmas" tomorrow so got to go and sort the house while DP walks dog and child!

Tindel · 13/12/2015 11:25

It's a Christmas miracle - J has been asleep in his Moses basket since 10! This is the longest non-sling nap he's ever had - I think it might compensate for him not going to sleep until almost 11. He's been a right greedy so and so recently, so am hoping he's going to have a new skill after all this. I'd settle for being able to fall asleep when he's tired at the moment Hmm

Giraffescandance1 · 13/12/2015 13:01

mzzf hurrah! So glad you're getting some sleep! I'm also breaking a lot of rules atm, baby giraffe slept all night on me last night, she slept for 12 hours! So had a small feed at some point but I barely remember it as she did it herself (sleeps by boob). This has happened for a couple of nights now, I will go back to sleeping with her next to me once her cold goes. I know its controversial, but I wedge myself so I can't possibly 'drop' her whilst I'm sleeping in bed. I feel so much better to be getting sleep. The hv said to me before that cot death is very rare and tends to involve alcohol or drugs by the parents, I know this doesn't make going against sids advice 'safe' but I do what I can to make it a safe sleeping environment.

Fatty you poor thing, you've really been unlucky with colds and stomach bugs lately. I'm sending you on a spa break to recouperate!

Is anyone reading any good books? I've just finished 'The Girl on the Train' it's a great thriller and an easy read, I loved it (I read it in three days despite two children so must be good!)

Sian hope your cat returns soon! I have four cats, including one who needs daily injections and I understand how demanding they can be! I keep my bedroom door closed as otherwise they'd be all over baby too, they tend to sleep on dhs bed Grin

Hope everyone else is ok!

Grok · 13/12/2015 18:14

Mine slept last night too!!! Asleep at 9.30 downstairs with me, into crib at 11.30, woke at 2.30 for about 5 minutes, then at 5 for a feed. Up at 8.

Am also euphoric today! Here here to curing cancer or finding world peace with this amount of sleep Starl

Clstow · 13/12/2015 20:22

Giraffes you've just reminded me how much I miss reading, haven't managed a book at all since DS was born. I read girl on the train while preggers though and found it v addictive. Let me know if you come across any other goodies.

Congrats on the sleep MzzF, Grok and Kbro. Really hope it continues for you.

With the cot naps it was a LOT of trial and error and took weeks of hard project nap slog... I started with DS's first nap of the day as that's always the most predictable and the one he fell asleep easiest for. I tried so many different things but basically after he's been awake for an hour I watch him like a hawk and as soon as he yawns I take him in the bedroom, put him back in his gro-bag, put white noise on (but not Ewan... He hates that sheep!), and pat his bum rhythmically - like a clock ticking. He almost always does some pre-sleep grizzles but I sssh him and keep going with the patting and he's usually asleep between 5-10 mins. My oh can literally put him in the cot and leave the room and he'll fall asleep but he won't do that if I'm around, guess I'm just so entertaining he doesn't want to waste time with me by sleeping Xmas Hmm

Hope you feel better soon Fatty and Joskar.

We went to a winter wonderland thing in east London today. I had a mulled wine and Alex met Santa - great day had by all Xmas Smile

Good luck for tonight everyone, here's hoping it's a good one...

MaGratgarlik1983 · 13/12/2015 20:23

Evening all! Sorry to have not posted for ages!! Glad some sleep is being had. Took DS to see santa today, was funny as the guy was like ' so shall I hold him?' and we got a photo but DS looks so serious on it like he's about to broker a UN treaty or something! Does anyone wise watch strictly? Am excited about the final now!!

We have our third lot of jabs tomorrow :( but we've also been invited to a carol Concert and an Xmas party this week woo!
How's everyone 's Xmas planning going? Have wrapped almost everything but still need to bake etc. And need to buy grandparent cards from DS!! Anyhoo hope everyone's enjoying the weekend.

MaGratgarlik1983 · 13/12/2015 20:24

Not sure why my phone felt the need to insert the word wise after watch...

FattySantaRobin · 13/12/2015 20:48

I've got a busy bust week next week. So this sleep regression needs to end.
I've got to go shopping tomorrow, Tuesday and Wednesday I have to finish the last of the wrapping, Thursday is my DBs 22nd birthday and my DS1s Christmas carol concert at school, Friday is DDs 2nd birthday, Saturday we are off to the sea life centre and Sunday we are taking DS1 and my youngest DB (13) to see the new star wars film.

I need a drink just thinking about all of that! 🍹

MaGratgarlik1983 · 13/12/2015 21:04

Blimey that is busy fatty!!

kbro79 · 13/12/2015 21:16

I am being punished hard for last nights good sleep. DS is having a terrible day. Terrible terrible day.

He has a snuffly nose. No temp, no cough, no running nose, no upset tummy. But has been clingy and crying all day. Basically I think he has man flu. I honestly didn't realise it could strike so young.

Love strictly and v excited about next week. Although we will be travelling so will have to have some sort of media blackout.

Clstow well done on the naps. I think I'll try after Christmas as we are here there and everywhere at the moment but starting from morning and work up sounds good.

Sorry to hear about the bloody stomach bugs. Nothing worse.

Must go. Velcro baby is demanding boob which he probably won't take for the 100th time today. Arrgggg

Lilydreams · 13/12/2015 22:43

Sorry not posted in ages, I've been reading when I cannot just had a nightmare week! DS is finally improving with his bronchiolitis and has started eating more although not quite back to as much as he had been. Had a horrific day yesterday as despite his wheezing and snot being much better I think his teeth ramped up their pain so lots of screaming hysterically from him and me Sad. Was not a good day, surely I shouldn't be the one crying myself to sleep!! Anyway today is another day and I've been to a beautiful 3 hour candlelight yoga Workshop which my goodness has worked wonders and I feel so much better! Followed by a roast at the ILs when I picked him up!

Mzzf yay for the long sleep finally I know we're all knackered but I think you deserved it the most!oh and i think you made the right decision job wise if you don't feel ready.

Who else was it had an interview Friday? It go ok? Sorry if I've missed that!

Fatty sorry your poorly again you really do seem to have the worst luck!

Random- our moses to Cotbed swap went amazingly well I think he was glad of the space he sleepsike a little starfish bless him with his arms wide out! He also doesn't sleep very well in his smaller 0-6 months grobbag as he likes having room for his legs and is nearly getting snug in the bigger of the 2 he has too but we tried him in a 6-12 (bought for £9 in the sainsbos 25% event- thank you whoever gave that tip!) and his head would easily fit through the hole so I'm not sure what to do!

I've missed so much I can't reply to everyone! Apologies!

Yay for those having good sleep and extra gluwien to those having extra wake ups- me too- I'm putting it down to his poorlyness this week but just remembered I want to check the wonder weeks thingy as he's 20 weeks today (Shock where the hell has time gone!!) to see when things should improve!

rrra · 14/12/2015 03:25

Shit night here. Held out some hope as he had a good nap on me yesterday. But no, up every hour so far. H tried to settle him but no luck. He just wants to feed to sleep. God knows how I got it so wrong.

Magic soft blanket under sheets not helping. Tomorrow I'm trying formula. I think this is really down to sleep regression and that he can't settle back to sleep. But really have no idea where to start to get him to self settle. Things got bad with my DD, but never this bad.

MaGratgarlik1983 · 14/12/2015 04:28

Rrra that sounds awful! After a couple of 11-6 stints we are back to 4am waking here. Make mine a snowball and I'll even get a mince pie as well!

Lilydreams · 14/12/2015 05:20

I'll join you for the snowball (haha phone changed to snowblower!) MaGrat!

Rra- it was me sliding drinks down the bar I you all night- I've been here at least every hour too! First feed just now but he's either moaned and needed dummy/ hand in chest to go back off or has coughed himself awake and needed settling all siding night! The one 1.5 hour stretch he did I woke up soaking with sweat- what the hell!! Think AF is on her way! I'm so tired I could cry, I'm just lraying he's goes to sleep now for a hit and that DH doesn't wake us when he goes to work in an hour or so- he may die if he does!!!!
