Woohoo Mzzf your 'bloody hope so dance' must have worked! Told you that's what she was working on! The job definately produces some stories but quite disturbingly I'm so desensitised by it all after 9 years that I actually find it pretty boring at times! I think because it doesn't challenge me intellectually maybe, that's why the plan is to use my degree and leave in the next couple of years once DS is older and I don't mind him being in childcare more full time. How's your day been with DH back at work?

Frolic- I'll upload nursery pics later- we are very chuffed with it and DS is on his 2nd cot nap of the day in there so must like it too! Yay for the sleep for you too!

Giraffes- send the spell again tonight please it didn't reach me! Surely the spell combined with him now having a blind and him getting a rather constipated poo out this morning has to lead to sleep tonight!?

Fanby- I feel your pain on stupid DH although none has made a real effort whilst he's been off this week and I want to kill him a lot less now- strange as I usually can't wait for him to go back! I think a change of department at work may have him less stressed and more his old self, long may it continue!

Fatty- the thought of Nathan trying to reach past his gorgeous baby chub for his toes had me smiling! DS's thing this week and more so today is shrieking at the top of his voice- it's ear piercing but oh so cute and he is so impressed with himself!

Uh oh loves glad he didn't go too crazy!!

Had a phone call from the nursery today and have arranged DS's integration visits- starting the second week of feb the first week I'll stay with him and meet the 2 girls in baby room and sit and play whilst filling paperwork in, the second week he'll go once and I'll leave him for half an hour ish and then a second time for an hour on different days and then the third week he'll go for a morning and the week after that it will be properly as I'll be at work! Sounds mega slow that doesn't it but I'm a softy!! Haha! Eek it's real isn't it DS really isn't my tiny newborn anymore and I have to go back to work! Seems like yesterday I was still pregnant! Craziness!

Put DS in a size 6-12 months romper today. I think he fills it out pretty well considering he's only 4.5 months old, don't you?

Never mind the romper he's outgrown the change mat!! 😀

Gearing myself with coffee and choc biscuits for bedtime. Unlikely to be another stormer as she's decided to not drink as much today or have regular naps. Such fun!!!

Annnnd it's snowing here in the outskirts of Glasgow! ❄️

Lily - it's funny how you get desensitised to work isn't it. My patients never suppose me anymore, well if they do it's really something special/extra gross!!

Must go, dog needs to 💩. Back laters taters!

Siani he's gorgeous! And a gorgeous romper too what a loverly chunky boy!

Mzzf- it is weird isn't it how you are desensitised I suppose it's the same in most jobs you get used to what you know, no matter how bizzarre/ shocking!

DS is down has been since 19.30, we'll see for how long he's knackered! Woke him up at 17.15 to make sure he was tired for bed and he was a right grump on the verge of tears whilst we were playing to keep him awake and as he'd refused to drink anything at all at 16.00 as he was so tired poor sod he was hungry so gave him his 'last' bottle at 6pm instead of 7pm and he gobbled 8oz! Going to try a different tactic and feed at 11pm as has had a midnight feed the last 2 nights and has had his bedtime one an hour early- praying it might work for more sleep for me! Either way as someone said the other night I can't make it any worse!!

Gitaffes I'm sending you a giant thank you cocktail st the bar tonight, with 4 cherries on top, 2 mini umbrella things and a sparkler!! - LO slept through the night last night!! I've been so so so tired lately, getting up every 3 hours. DH would ask how I slept last night and I'd correct him that I no longer get to sleep, I only get to nap. Then last night she went down at 9 and didn't wake up until after 6!!! And even then it was just because both her little legs were sticking down the same onesie leg. Fixed that, quick feed... And up at 9am. Then DH got baby up and I got to sleep until 10.45. I could kiss you for all the good sleep karma!

Star I'll spread the good cheer and double up giraffe's spell for all the Mugabe babies to sleep through tonight Star

Started solids last weekend, wonder if that has anything to do with it?

I didn't quite conquer the world today after our 6 hour stretch, but I did manage to clean the house this morning and have a lovely afternoon catching up with a good friend.
I also made the most yummy dinner using some veg, gnocchi and all the left over ends of cheese. Seriously good stuff - and no more cheese and biscuits!
Ds was given a jumparoo today. Has anyone got one? I'm sure he'll love it when he gets the hang of it, but today required some very serious face whilst trying to work it out.

Looks like there wee a few good sleeps last night. Make sure it's the exact same spell again tonight giraffes!

Oh dear loves! These things happen, don't they? I hope the 'punishment' isn't too harsh 😉

Don't be too jealous of my haircut everything. I'm growing out a very heavy fringe, so it looks pretty shit.

I totally reckon that going all night without a feed can only be a sign of good things to come mzzf. Fingers crossed.

Your mum sounds fab fatty.

Yay for naps in the new nursery lily. Your intergration plan sounds great. Ours will be similar.
I hear you on the desensitisation thing with work. Dh always thinks it's bonkers that I can do child protection work and keep my head but I can't watch an rspca / vet type tv programme without bawling my eyes out.

That is a beaut of a sleep grok. Here's hoping for more of it.

I hope everyone has had a great Friday 🙂

Wow grok that's amazing yes please send the spell my way it obviously missed my house!

Mzzf I'm praying a beauty! 2 dummy replacement cries so far so not too bad.

Frolic- your tea sounds amazing!! Mmmmm cheesy gnocch We have a jumperoo and DS lives it but hasn't quite mastered 'jumping' yet. At first he was so chuffed to be able to stand without me or DH holding him that he stood there with legs locked out and loved us bouncing him but didn't attempt to move himself although he loved playing with the toys on it. Then FIL got him dancing in it by doing jumping squats in front of him and he got so excited that he was dancing around! We raised it to the next height yesterday as I noticed his legs were a little restricted and today he has been dancing away in it shrieking at the top of his voice! Shouldn't be long before he learns how to do both feet together! Oh and yes to crying at ridiculous stuff but being fine at work!!

Hi all. We have a jumperoo and DS seems to like it. Just watching Amy that film about Amy Winehouse.

Magrat I am watching Amy too. I'm finding it really difficult knowing what happens to her. So sad, she was so talented. I always followed her career because we share a name.

I have a jumperoo and used it for ds1 but not got it out of the loft yet for ds2 think we might try it this weekend.

Totally hear what you guys are saying about being desensitised at work. I can cry at adverts and award ceremonies but some how can deal with some pretty shity stuff at work and keep it together.

I worked out today I have 21 weeks of mat leave left so exactly half way through. We have also decided to put our flat on the market in the spring so starting the clear out already. It seems like life is moving quite fast atm.

Right going to stay up and watch the rest of Amy and hope for the best with sleep tonight. Ds2 seems to be getting better so fingers crossed and any sleep spells accepted.

Oh I've also got a scraped together bread and butter pud in the oven so will bring some to mugabe's later.

Watching Amy too! Love her voice and had since the frank album. So sad!

Yes yes yes to the Jumperoo. Mini mzzzf LOVES it. Not mastered to feet bouncing but does jig about like running on the spot and then just folds both legs up so she floats. It's an awesome invention!

Evening all!

Hooray for all the good sleep achieved last night Grin Well done Mugabe babies!

We had our first sing and sign class today, it was lovely. Grumpy 2 really enjoyed herself and it was nice to do something totally age appropriate just for her. She did boff her head on the floor half way through (she was on her tummy looking around and completely collapsed Confused) which made me feel like a very bad parent but she doesn't have a lump or anything and didn't even cry so I guess it bothered me more than her!

loves oh no about the car! Hope it's not too expensive to get it fixed!

All this talk about mat leave is really driving home how quickly the time is whizzing by. I can't believe she was 19 weeks today...

Anyway, we haven't been quite so fortunate with sleep so I shall head to bed now to get some Zzzz's in before the get-ups start. Night all x

I'm attempting my first dream feed! Ds has been asleep since 8. Unheard of these past few weeks. I'm trying it in the hope we then get a decent stretch from now. Otherwise he's bound to wake up as soon as I go to sleep. He's latched on fine, but I'm not convinced there is much drinking going on.

We didn't watch amy, but have just caught up on this week's eastenders. Does anyone else watch? The post-natal story going on right now (won't say what in case of spoilers) is so powerful. Very raw, emotional stuff.

Ds was 19 weeks yesterday loves - tonight might be your night!

Another quiet night at the bar? I hope that means good things.
Dream feed was s fab idea! He slept until 4am 🙂Then went back down until 6. bloody brilliant!

Ds is an only magrat, so no gaps. (yet!) I am totally broody and feel irrationally jealous of people with newborns. The one on eastenders in the sling does something funny to my insides. But we will have to wait a while in terms of affordability I'm afraid.

Toast anyone?

Already loading the Nutella on my toast frolic! Yes for great snoozing baby frolic. I sometimes do a dream feed for DD if I know she's not had a great amount during the day. Did one last night and boom slept until 4am!! Who is this new mini mzzzf?! That's several nights in a row now. Although I feel I deffo put in my nights at the shit sleep club! Long may I revoke my membership 😁

I had to impose a self moderated ban on eastenders as I was too addicted. I stopped watching about 18mths ago but am sort of itching to watch again but don't want to get hooked again. God I'm such a saddo! 🤓

DD is chilling on her playmat and donut pillow watching RA RA the lion (he's a big hit!) and I'm coffee and toasting. Anyone for a top up? I've the good stuff on the go this morning - illy!

Good night again for us! Had friends over for tea and cake yesterday afternoon so DS had a really busy afternoon watching everyone talking and watching my friends 3 year old playing with his toys. He LOVES watching and playing with older children so much, and he sleeps better after a busy day. I am going to use this in my campaign to have another. DP just wants more cats.

Morning ok night for us. Feed at my bedtime at 11.30 then up at 1.30, 4.30 and 6.30. It's definately getting better but each time Ds woke up coughing and didn't have much of a feed so I am optimistic that once he is fully better we might get some sleep. I am still knackered though I should have gone to bed earlier but hey Ho.

Dh is at work today so have entertain toddler and baby alone and don't have plans which always makes things harder. The weather is cold here so might have to wrap them up and go for a long walk.

The gap between my two is 2.8 months and I am definately done.

Bread and butter pud for breakfast anyone?

I like Justin. Gigglebiz is one of my favourites. I also like how he is with the children on Something Special. He seems really sincere and not like he's dying inside like some of the presenters on children's television!

Dds slept late this morning. Hurrah!

Happy weekend everyone!

Sounds like 19 weeks might be a magical turning point frolic? DS is 19 weeks tomorrow!

I don't have a close age gap between my two. DD was 3y 5m when DS turned up. To be honest I couldn't have coped with a small age gap. She can amuse herself for periods of time (or will watch beebies or Frozen) while I have to do other stuff. She can easily feed herself and is potty trained. Given I'm sometimes almost having a nervous breakdown at the moment, having another more dependent child would have tipped me over the edge I reckon! But big driver for us was only having one in full time childcare. DS came along slightly earlier than I was expecting, but DS go her funded preschool hours just as he came along and when I go back to work she'll be starting school. But everyone likes different age gaps for different reasons.

Dare I say it but we've had better nights here. Only three wake ups last two nights. Even a stretch of almost 4 hours on Thursday night. Hope this marks a change for the better! I've got horrible cough now so think I might be waking DS anyway.

Last night was not a good night. I'm knackered! DS2 was up until 6 (never slept for more than an hour anyway) and then DD was up at 7.

Giraffe keep the spells coming. DS did 4 hours. Oh I feel better for that. Keep the faith people having shit nights. Now DS if we could just take less than 2 hours to resettle that would be great. Mzzzf I am hoping so much mini mzzzf has turned a corner for you. Go MM!!!

Love Enders. I watch it during the day on catch up when DS has one of his (many) nap laps.
Mzzzf I weaned myself off Eastenders too. Was a huge addict. But mat leave made me crack and am back in it's grip. Missed last nights but v powerful stuff. I think Lacey turner is such a good actress. And frolic am the same. The baby in the sling does funny things to my hormones.

Siani I love the baby grow. Too cute.
Fatty sorry to hear about the rubbish sleep. Last thing you need now.

I can't decide about age gaps. DS is our first and I'd love another. Must say I don't want another summer baby. Those last few weeks of pregnancy in the summer killed me. But of course you can't always plan.

Had a coffee with a new mum friend yesterday. She had TWINS!!! I spent the while coffee thinking but how??? How???
