Ola! Busy day chez frolic.
Birthday party, then shopping, then sorting out the spare room. Ds loved the birthday party. he's so nosy and just happily sat watching the older kids run around. He didn't enjoy sorting out the spare room quite as much. But I managed to get dh, who is a total hoarder, to part with some stuff, so I'm a happy bunny.

I've never seen mr. Tumble! Am definitely going to check him out this week. I don't care if he' annoying if he will entertain Ds for a bit.

Yay mini mzzf! I hope she gives you a repeat performance tonight.

I forgot to say how cute your picture was yesterday siani! You have great taste - we have the same romper and changing mat!

Fingers crossed 19 weeks brings you the same charm as us rrra.

Glad I'm not the only one who goes weak at the sight of little Arthur fowler in the sling kbro. Hormones are strange!
I also have a friend with twins - I'm amazed at how she just gets on with it. They are her 4th & 5th dc's and she bf's them too. I reckon she is secretly superwoman and must have some superhero pants on under her jeans 🙂

I hope the il's are still alive slow? 😉

Are you giving Ds solids yet magrat? Or was the banana his first taste? I'm quite keen for Ds to start showing an interest in food, but he's not at all yet.
I hope the teething eases off for poor Ds with the calpol.

💐 fatty, I hope you're all ok.

Enjoy your trip dozy.

Sorry if I've forgotten anyone. I hope you've all had a super saturday.
Can we have another sleep spell tonight giraffes? They seem to be doing the trick!

Just wanted to pop in before bed- trying to get me some zzzs in before the wake ups commence as I'm literally dead on my feet- I'm in bed with makeup on and I've not brushed my teeth but I don't even care - just took DS an hour to fall asleep my own fault for letting him nap till 6.30 whilst we ate tea out.

Fatty sorry you've had more bad news it really isn't fair Flowers

Will catch up properly tommorrow. Night mugabeans x

Fatty, hugs to you and your family. I hope you are holding up ok xo

Giraffes, your spell did it again last night, 10 hours with one feed at 1. I got a while 5 hours of sleep then until 6.15 for the next feed when she was up for the day from 7!

Sleeping well again today for naps and down again at 7.30. Date I cross my fingers? She's 23 weeks now and we've had a full two months of sleep regression hell. I'm ready for 5 hours of sleep at a time! Don't know if starting food had anything to do with it. She's also too big for her 3-6 month baby grows, time to buy some 6-9 month!!

giraffes your magic spell reached us last night - 5 hours - I love you!!❤️. It's amazing how much more rested and happy you feel with some proper sleep!

dozy babyloves is still in 0-3 months clothes - fed up seeing her in the same stuff. Keep trying 3-6 month on but the feet are always flapping about empty - she is 5 months now.

Jumperoo - she will sit in it but her feet don't reach the floor so you have to bounce it for her - I said before that toddler is a bit rough doing this so babyloves always looks a bit scared when I put her in it!!

I always wonder how Justin can be so consistently nice all the time and wonder if he is like that in real life?? My toddler loves Bing - a really whingey rabbit - it's amazing the characters you soon become familiar with on CBeebies - some you get to really like and others will drive you mad (Tig in Woolly & Tig - can't bear her!) Grin

My age differences are -

DC 1 - DC 2 - 2yrs 7mths
DC 2 - DC 3 - 3yrs 2mths
DC 3 - DC 4 - 1yr 10mths
DC 4 - DC 5 - 3yrs 3mths
DC 5 - DC 6 - 2yrs 5mths

I breast fed them all for a year and had no periods during feeding - tried to conceive once I stopped feeding.

I want to watch The Voice tonight but no one else in house likes it - might just take me and babyloves off to bed extra early and watch it there. DC usually watch a movie together on a Saturday night but getting more and more difficult to choose one that they all agree on - by the time they finish arguing it will be bedtime lol

Jumperoo. ... dd loves her. She even plays with all the toys appropriately now and bounces like a trooper. It's perfect for when we want to eat our tea in peace :) (apart from the noise haha)

Awww Siani he's gorgeous. My baby is definitely not long and lanky lol she's more chubby and short. I was still putting her in 0-3 month clothes but decided this week to put them away and just put her in 3-6months so she gets some wear out of them. I've realised that I've yet again got waybtoo many vests in this size as I have in newborn and 0-3. Some were never even worn. I'll remember next time to exchange things quicker so I don't have too much of one thing.

Glad some of you are getting more sleep and hugs to those of you who aren't. Dd has one wake up overnight these days around 3-4 o'clock. Sometimes needs feeding sometimes not. I know that is really good, but because she used to sleep for longer I always gets disappointed everytime I see what time it is on the clock. But it's pretty manageable.

Yes to Mr tumble creeping me out. I read on wiki how he'd always wanted to be a kids presenter so has basically spent his whole life learning all those facial expressing etc. Kids seem to love him but as an adult it creeps me out.

I'm away with my mum visiting my sister near Cardiff. We're going to watch shrek at the theatre so my mum is in babysitting duties. Been busy today but tomorrow I'm hoping for a proper lie in after dd has had her morning feed. I never get to go back to sleep usually whereas I let dp have a lie in when I can. He's got a whole weekend to himself lucky thing. He says he's enjoying the peace and quiet. I reckon secretly he's missing us. I know I find it weird without him there.

More teeth are cutting through now still on the bottom. Poor DS is smiley one minute then upset the next. Eek he just grabbed my banana and started munching on it!
We're just chilling out with some dribbly cuddles! DH has been out all day really need him back soon!

Happy lunchtime again Mugabeans! Hope you are all okay today and that the weather is kind enough to allow you out the house Smile. I have the ILs and SIL/BIL with us this weekend so I have dispatched DH out for a walk with his entire family while I have my lunch in peace. It's bliss.

I find most children's television really creepy which is the main driver for not having it on. I'm not anti-TV as such, I just hate kids TV. Grumpy 1 tends to watch DVDs every now and again, but had never seen a telly on until she went to her childminder at 1. Having said that, I am really enjoying now that she is a bit older sharing age appropriate programmes / films with her. We watched March of the Penguins over Christmas because she is really into animals and she loved it. We like going to the movies too, the Moomins film was great fun.

Age gaps As you all know by now we have a 4 year 3 month age gap between our 2 which is about 18 months longer than we had considered our 'ideal'. I was going for 3ish years between them. Like rra I knew that I wouldn't be able to be the parent I wanted to be with a smaller age gap. Thats not to say that the hormones didn't drive me mad when grumpy 1 was a baby, I think I spent my whole mat leave with my body thinking it would be a good idea to get up duff again and my rational brain saying 'don't be mad!!'. I also had an excellent friend with a baby about 9 months older than grumpy 1 who warned me how much more complicated it gets when they are moving around / weaning / potty training which did put me off throwing a newborn into that mix Wink. It's all horses for courses though, I'm a great believer that life is what you make of it and I can see the pros and cons in both large and small gaps. magrat do you have something you would like to share Wink

fatty love, how is everything in the ninja-house? I hope your DP is okay and that you and the kids are alright xx

lily where is the pic of the nursery? Well done DS for nursery-snoozing, what a little legend!

frolic glad that the dream feed bought you more sleep. Week 19 has seemed to be a bit of a turning point for us too, not great sleep but back to only 2 feeds a night and last night they stretched out to 12:30 and 5:30 which means we got our magic 4 hours! The ILs will never know how luck they are, today I only might kill them and bury them under the patio. Yesterday I definitely would have!!

siani grumpy 2 is a nosey little sausage too, her absolute favourite thing is to sit and watch other people / babies. Its mega cute, the little old ladies in town love it!

everything Are you relocating or moving to a bigger property in your current area? Big change ahead, but very exciting! I'll take a slice of bread and butter pudding, cream or custard?

Right, have to go and meet them all in town so I can feed grumpy 2. Should get cake out of it though... wish me luck...

Mzzf yes Mr tumble is one hell of a creepy guy and DS won't be watching if I can avoid it! We first encountered him when we were in a waiting room when DS was a few weeks old and me and DH just kept turning to exchange horrified looks with each other!

I'm so glad for those who had good nights again and I don't mean to sound bitter but I hate you!! Grin Frolic I had exactly the same plan of dreamfreding last night and it didn't bloody work he just ended up having 3 night feeds instead of 2!! To be fair he only woke for feeds but I still haven't had more than 2 hours sleep in a row since the week before Christmas when he slept through one night! I'm finding it so frustrating as I know he knows how to do it and now his feeds aren't even full feeds anyway so why is he still waking so often for them!?!!! As for week 19 being a turning point sorry to rain on anyone's parade but DS is 24 weeks tonmorrow!! Arghhhhhh sorry for the negativity and moaning but I really don't know how I can keep doing this and DH is back at work tonmorrow so that's me back to doing the 5am feed too!!!

Giraffe keep the spells coming. DS did 4 hours. Oh I feel better for that. Keep the faith people having shit nights. Now DS if we could just take less than 2 hours to resettle that would be great. Mzzzf I am hoping so much mini mzzzf has turned a corner for you. Go MM!!!

Love Enders. I watch it during the day on catch up when DS has one of his (many) nap laps.
Mzzzf I weaned myself off Eastenders too. Was a huge addict. But mat leave made me crack and am back in it's grip. Missed last nights but v powerful stuff. I think Lacey turner is such a good actress. And frolic am the same. The baby in the sling does funny things to my hormones.

Siani I love the baby grow. Too cute.
Fatty sorry to hear about the rubbish sleep. Last thing you need now.

I can't decide about age gaps. DS is our first and I'd love another. Must say I don't want another summer baby. Those last few weeks of pregnancy in the summer killed me. But of course you can't always plan.

Had a coffee with a new mum friend yesterday. She had TWINS!!! I spent the while coffee thinking but how??? How???

Sounds like 19 weeks might be a magical turning point frolic? DS is 19 weeks tomorrow!

I don't have a close age gap between my two. DD was 3y 5m when DS turned up. To be honest I couldn't have coped with a small age gap. She can amuse herself for periods of time (or will watch beebies or Frozen) while I have to do other stuff. She can easily feed herself and is potty trained. Given I'm sometimes almost having a nervous breakdown at the moment, having another more dependent child would have tipped me over the edge I reckon! But big driver for us was only having one in full time childcare. DS came along slightly earlier than I was expecting, but DS go her funded preschool hours just as he came along and when I go back to work she'll be starting school. But everyone likes different age gaps for different reasons.

Dare I say it but we've had better nights here. Only three wake ups last two nights. Even a stretch of almost 4 hours on Thursday night. Hope this marks a change for the better! I've got horrible cough now so think I might be waking DS anyway.

I like Justin. Gigglebiz is one of my favourites. I also like how he is with the children on Something Special. He seems really sincere and not like he's dying inside like some of the presenters on children's television!

Dds slept late this morning. Hurrah!

Happy weekend everyone!

Morning ok night for us. Feed at my bedtime at 11.30 then up at 1.30, 4.30 and 6.30. It's definately getting better but each time Ds woke up coughing and didn't have much of a feed so I am optimistic that once he is fully better we might get some sleep. I am still knackered though I should have gone to bed earlier but hey Ho.

Dh is at work today so have entertain toddler and baby alone and don't have plans which always makes things harder. The weather is cold here so might have to wrap them up and go for a long walk.

The gap between my two is 2.8 months and I am definately done.

Bread and butter pud for breakfast anyone?

Good night again for us! Had friends over for tea and cake yesterday afternoon so DS had a really busy afternoon watching everyone talking and watching my friends 3 year old playing with his toys. He LOVES watching and playing with older children so much, and he sleeps better after a busy day. I am going to use this in my campaign to have another. DP just wants more cats.

Already loading the Nutella on my toast frolic! Yes for great snoozing baby frolic. I sometimes do a dream feed for DD if I know she's not had a great amount during the day. Did one last night and boom slept until 4am!! Who is this new mini mzzzf?! That's several nights in a row now. Although I feel I deffo put in my nights at the shit sleep club! Long may I revoke my membership 😁

I had to impose a self moderated ban on eastenders as I was too addicted. I stopped watching about 18mths ago but am sort of itching to watch again but don't want to get hooked again. God I'm such a saddo! 🤓

DD is chilling on her playmat and donut pillow watching RA RA the lion (he's a big hit!) and I'm coffee and toasting. Anyone for a top up? I've the good stuff on the go this morning - illy!

Another quiet night at the bar? I hope that means good things.
Dream feed was s fab idea! He slept until 4am 🙂Then went back down until 6. bloody brilliant!

Ds is an only magrat, so no gaps. (yet!) I am totally broody and feel irrationally jealous of people with newborns. The one on eastenders in the sling does something funny to my insides. But we will have to wait a while in terms of affordability I'm afraid.

Toast anyone?
