Thanks everyone.

Jonah-The baby is due 26th April. When's yours due?

Ds always had sleeping bags until he was around 13 months and I bought him a duvet. It doesn't stay on him during the night but he's currently sleeping in fleecey sleepsuits at the mo,and has the warmest room in the house,so is quite ok with that.I washed the duvet the other week and it wasn't quite dry to be used the same night,so I tried putting him back into a sleeping bag and he screamed so much,I ended up coverig him with a blanket instead.

He also used to undo the poppers too and I found the ones with the zip so much better.

Skyler · 09/12/2006 16:34

Hi all
Hope you are all well.
So sorry you didn't make your trip Trib. Hope you have enjoyed some time off though and had some sort of treats at home. Your ds sounds completely normal. People who don't have children generally know nothing about having them either.
Yorkie, great to hear from you. Sorry you have been having health probs. Hope you will get something sorted soon.
Bubb - Great news. Another boy.
2happy - Sorry to hear about your poor sis. It sounds like they are looking after her well though.
Giddy - How is the Olive oil going?
My friends dd is in a bed with a grobag still. We gave dd1 a duvet when we moved her. All our grobags ar zipper ones too.
Hi KVG!
Jonah - Sympathies for the pregnancy symptoms
Lua - Hope the AB's are all working without any side effects.
Sorry if I have missed anyone wasn't making notes.
Finished the xmas shopping today but haven't done any cards yet and it has struck me I have quite a few to go overseas so that and decorating the house are my jobs for tomorrow. Yawn.
I went out on Thurs and got well and truly hammered . It was our Toddler Group meal out and I had a fab time. Haven't been drunk like that for over 2.5 years. Was good for nothing yesterday though
Dd1 is being much better behaved with the advent of a new reward chart and lots of time and attention from me. DD2 is still a treasure and making me giggle with all her new words and phrases, not that anyone else would know what she means. To me it is totally clear. She passed me the TV remote today and said 'Please' with her head on one side I couldn't resist putting cbeebies on for her. She is going to be sooo spoilt . Poor dd1 is the one we are so firm with and set all the boundaries with. dd2 just charms me in a totally different way. I don't know if she is more easy going or just that I am but she seems much easier than dd1 at the same age........
I love these festive smileys. Can you tell

Lua · 10/12/2006 13:35

We will be off next week for our holiday vacation! Yey! As soon as the whole panic blows over I think I am actualy going to enjoy it!

Jonahb- DD slept in a bed with the grobags . She loves it, and asks for it.. she is also like katz dd and won't move from the bed on her own for nothing! So it was much better than being awaken a million times a night to put the blankest back on...
FWIW, both DD and DS manage to stand up and walk short distances inside their bag...

2happy - poppers! that explains it! We only had the zipper types.... How are you coping by the way? your due date is soon, no?

ho,ho,ho to everybody else!

Lua · 10/12/2006 13:38

Skyler - I sooo know where you are coming from! It scares me sometimes how my DS gets away with murder!
I really need to ensure one on one time with dd to ensure she is not getting a raw deal...

2HappyTurtleDoves · 10/12/2006 16:58

I just got the MN "what to expect at 18mnths" email - your child might be starting to try climbing furniture....

hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!! (hollow laughter as I try to count the number of times I've found him proudly sitting on top of the dining room table/chest of drawers/back of sofa etc etc)

(Lua - 6 weeks today! Wouldn't complain if it was early, though!)

teabelly · 11/12/2006 13:02

Fleeting visit - family over visiting unexpectedly - joy

Bubb - how lovely, another master Bubb, great news

2Happy - those final weeks are a killer - but don't wish it away too soon, just make the most of DS's final weeks as an only child Life's about to become very hectic, he he he and I bet you thought it already was!

Sky - knowing nodding here on the charm offensive front - DD knows just how to wind everyone around her little finger, much better and earlier than DS ever did

EYM - hiya honey

Right must go...catch up once I've reclaimed my house from nieces!

katzg · 13/12/2006 08:41

Psst its not many sleeps left until christmas! i can't wait!! we managed to DD1 exactly what she has been asking for for the past 3 months, i can't wait to see her face on Christmas morning when she clocks it!

OP posts:
Skyler · 14/12/2006 20:03

What did your dd1 ask for Katz?

katzg · 15/12/2006 14:40

all she wanted was a soft and sweet Ariel (the little mermiad) doll and a new pushchair to put it in. The pushchair was the easy bit, the doll has been a knightmare to source!!

Hellooooooooo

teabelly · 20/12/2006 10:16

Hello ladies

Not been able to log on for ages - had family over and then last week dmum was involved in an RTA Was a bit of a fraught time - it took ages to cut her out, but she's on the mend now, a few broken bones and lots of bruises but all that will mend given time thankfully - same can't be said about her poor little car tho! DS was in the car with her but amazingly he walked away unhurt . Now she's staying with us for a few weeks, and although I'm eternally grateful she's still here with us I think I will go slowly mad before the 6 weeks is up !

Hope all are well and almost ready for the visit of the jolly geezer. I will probably be unable to log on much before then so I'll wish everyone a very merry christmas now - have fun!

x

Skyler · 20/12/2006 11:47

OMG Tea. What a nightmare for you all. Wishing your dmum a very speedy recovery (then you might not have to do the 6 weeks either .
Merry Christmas [fmile]

Skyler · 20/12/2006 11:47

katzg · 20/12/2006 11:50

2HappyTurtleDoves · 21/12/2006 14:25

Tea best wishes to your dmum, hope she feels better soon.
ds been unwell all week with high temp, cough, cold, diarrhoea. He finally slept through last night for the first time since friday and seemed to be shaking it all off at last. Then he tripped up and split his head open on the wall . I'm considering asking Santa to bring him a cycle helmet (and why not knee and elbow pads while he's at it)!
Happy Christmas everyone

snowfallatxmasmum · 21/12/2006 14:40

hello everyone

tea - poor mum and poor you for both your sakes hope she gets well soon

2happy - oh no did you have to go to A&E?

been quite busy lately studying and whatnot.
tomorrow i will be helping my sister move and then on saturday we off to 'the north' to spend christmas with the in laws

MERRY CHRISTMAS to you all

2HappyTurtleDoves · 21/12/2006 14:45

No - nearest A+E is 45mins away so just took him to the health centre where the lovely nurses sorted him out, gave him a chocolate, and gave me a hug and a glass of water, lol!
Hope your sister's house move goes well, that's quite a thought just before Christmas!

snowfallatxmasmum · 21/12/2006 14:55

good to know most A&E at this time of year is full of drunks

the foolish woman decided to move really close to christmas so will spend the holidays looking at boxes, this should keep dd happy she loves boxes

btw my dd discovered spinning and keeps doing that then falling on her padded bum with a dazed look on her face while saying oh dear

2HappyTurtleDoves · 21/12/2006 15:05

Fantastic - it's hilarious isn't it (well as long as it doesn't involve colliding with walls )

baubleloo · 21/12/2006 22:14

Tea-Your poor mum.Hope she makes a speedy recovery and you also recovery well from the 6 weeks.

2Happy-Poor Ds too.Bet the choccie cheered him up.

Sfx-Oscar is the spin meister at the mo,lol. He spends all day spinning and falling over, especially as his feet still have problems. We've even bought him a sit n spin as one of his pressies from Santa which I'm sure he'll love.

Hello to everyone else and wishing you all a very happy christmas.xxx

tribpot · 22/12/2006 09:28

Tea - sorry again about your mum, thank goodness everyone is basically okay.

Ladies, tea and I are meeting up on 28 Dec if anyone is around, somewhere vaguely Lutonish I think!

2Happy, so sorry to hear about ds, what a nightmare.

Still haven't finished the Christmas shopping - hey ho, plenty of time!

Uki · 22/12/2006 09:42

HELLO EVERYONE

Not posted much lately, but have been having a little lurk or two

Just wanted to wish you all a very Merry Christmas to all the junies, mums and families.
I think our little ones may well enjoy more than the wrapping paper this year.

Trib- Hope things are better now, than with all the trip saga.

tea -hope your mum and her stay goes well and she manages to get in a car again, what a fright the accident must have been.

2happy- poor ds, that fall sounded dramatic, hope he is recovering well.

Hi to everyone else sklyer, jonah, muma, katz, teabelly, mrs wed, eastyork, KVG, lua, fx and anyone i've missed

Skylertnightholynight · 22/12/2006 15:10

Hi Uki - Hope you are keeping well.
Hello all
2 Happy - Poor you and ds. We ended up in A&E a few weeks ago with our little mountaineer dd2. She still has a bruise on her head now, but is fine.
Baubleloo - DS will love that pressie!!! Wow.
I have just done the Adsa shop. Took so long. And my next job is to clean the house for the arrival of our visitors tomorrow, which is why I am on here of course .
Actually I must crack on or I shall be cleaning instead of drinking wine and enjoying our Asda takeaway curry with DH tonight, before my Mum and stepdad arrive. I can't wait to see them. I am very excited. I have not seen my Mum since September as my dstepdad has been poorly and unable to travel and he was to ill for us to decend on him so I can't wait. This is the longest I have gone without seeing my Mum. I saw her more often when we were living in Cyprus .
Take care all and Merry Christmas

Lua · 22/12/2006 16:54

Oh goodness tea, and 2happy! Glad to hear all has ended up OK!
I am visiting my parents for the holidays and am very sympathetic to you tea....The kids are having a really good time, but my parentÅ› place is basically a death trap, so no real holidays for us...

Wishing everybody a lovely christmas and a great 2007!
