How are we all doing, ladies? Hope we've seen our local Mile for Maude ?

Btw, I am in London the first weekend of March, not sure exactly what the programme of events is (am meeting up with people from my old work and they are meant to be organising it, i.e. it is an utter shambles) - would any London Junies fancy a lunch?

Evening All,

Hope everyone is well.
Have been really busy here with various hospital appointments.Saw the consultant Friday regarding Oscar's Talipes who was very pleased with the progress and although he still has to wear "special boots" from the hospital,he said it wouldn't hurt if we wanted to buy him a normal pair,so we are off tomorrow to buy his very first pair of shoes...flashing trainers.
That aside,we also have to go back to the hospital this Friday for him to be measured for a night-time leg cast(just one leg!),to speed the process along and on Thursday we're at the London Hospital as he's finally having his operation.I also had another small bleed at the weekend and now have a really sore throat which feels like I've swallowed razor blades, which is so annoying as I can't take anything except Strepsils which are useless.
On a lighter note,we are hopefully attempting to move Oscar back into his toddler bed(after he's recovered from surgery),so we can start decorating the nursery.Only have about 9 weeks left to go.

Ooh Bub how exciting - I wanted to get ds some flashing trainers but allegedly he was a width size H and they don't do them. When we took him back (TO THE SAME SHOP) 6 weeks later he was a width F and a foot size smaller! Shysters!

9 weeks ... can our more experienced Junies tell us how to enjoy these last few weeks? I'm sure they must have done it when we were all pregnant but we blanked it out

2Happy · 12/02/2007 21:18

Enjoy??? Enjoy the last 9 weeks??? Er, no, never managed to crack that one - the only good thing about the sleep deprivation of a newborn is having the time to savour not being heavily pg any more

Oh, wait, no I thought of something - when you're heavily pg the bump is so big it balances everything out: it's only after you deliver that you realise just how big your arse has grown since conceiving

Report
tribpot · 12/02/2007 21:22

I had to hoik a laptop in a backpack around with me whilst in the final 4 weeks with ds, and actually it was quite good in terms of balancing out the enormous burden in front

I was thinking more about enjoying only having to train your eyes on one person at the park - I suppose it is a bit soon to imagine the new gen Junies as toddlers too?!

2Happy · 12/02/2007 21:31

You're right Trib. I remember with ds being keen for each new stage, transfixed by his growing mobility and evolving personality. Now I think, agh! stay immobile, ds2, I can't cope with 2 rampaging all over the shop!

2Happy · 12/02/2007 21:39

(Incidently, you'd be proud - thanks to ds1's ABBA obsession, ds2 must've heard it so much in the womb that when we put it on for ds1 now, ds2 settles too!)

Gosh Bubb, wish I had only 9 weeks to go . I've got 14 1/2 (and counting every day). I'm also going through that trauma that all of you with 2 LO's can identify with - doing that mad run/waddle across Sainsbury's, when I turned my back for a nanosecond and DS decided that he wanted to examine the beer aisle, while I am at the other end of the store.
I really wish I could join you for the walk for Maude, but I'll be 8 1/2 months pgt and there is no way on this planet I'm going to be able to make it.
Not much else to report. The toddlers are just getting more lovely and funny every day. DS made us laugh so much tonight. He is OBSESSED with his willy (no change from any other bloke then). So, at bathtime, he checks it out in the mirror. Then sits down, legs spread so he can get a good look from that angle. But that wasn't good enough. So he stands up, rests his head on the floor, so he is doubled over and can get the optimum view from below . Sad thing was, DH was so proud.......
[sound of me poking bump to ensure a non-willy owning flavour]

Hope you and your LO's are all well.......

Hi ladies.
Bubb - gosh you have a lot going on! Rest up as much as you can inbetween times. 9 weeks. How exciting. I am afraid I hated the last few weeks of my second pregnancy (my Junie) as I was knackered and stressed about where I would be having baby. Was SOOOO much happier when dd2 had arrived. I felt 100 times better. My tip would be to try and imagine two now. I forgot dd2 so many times and then had that moment of remembering and panicking that she had been asleep for too long. I also forgot to strap her carseat in properly twice as it was such a palaver to get us all in the car remembering everything. It is so great though. I am quite jealous of the fun you have to come esp as I think we are stopping at two now. Another baby I would love, another child though????
I was supposed to be off to see my Mum and stepdad this week but she is very poorly with flu (in Suffolk eeek ) and so we can't go which is a shame as we were all looking forward to it. I wish we lived closer then it wouldn't be such a bit deal, but hey c'est la vie. I will just have to have lots of other treats instead.
Right I am off for now.
Take care all xxx

Jonah - xposted. PMSL at your ds. I am loving that description.

Report

Also PMSL at your ds, Jonah. Mine only says "bye bye pee pee" when a new nappy is going on and gives it a little pat. I now count myself very fortunate!

2Happy, glad that ds2 is an ABBA fan too, I think I shall pretend to myself that your boys are called Benny and Björn

Sky, sorry about your mum Hope she is better soon.

Actually I remember now what you were doing katz - you were finishing off dd1's baby book so you could start a new one for dd2! Needless to say I have never filled in as much as a word in either of the baby books I was given for ds.

katzg · 15/02/2007 08:28

think your right trib, in fact both baby books are up to date! but the scrapbooks,i'm up to about april last year! i think i worked out i had 35 pages to go!

Baby books . Hopelessly out of date with both. I have started keeping a diary instead to write on random dates when I have time of the girls have done something exciting. Less pressure that way, I can just write as little as I like when I like .

Plus we have MN, Skyler - surely as much information as we could ever need about our little ones' progress!

Report
Skyler · 15/02/2007 19:43

Oh yes, I will just tell them to search archives and they will come back saying right I know when I wasn't sleeping, wasn't eating, had nappy rash, was teething, how you chose my car seat, but what was my first word and when did I walk

I am sure I have posted some of the good stuff really.
Do you think they will google us when they are old??

I intend that ds shall never know my MN name (or dh for that matter!)

Keep fingers crossed ladies - I think our house purchase is about to fall through And we have to either give notice here or renew for a further six months in a week's time.

hi all

hope the house move is back on trib.

Yesterday dd2 decided that she didn't want to wear nappies anymore! so we tried some knickers, after numerous accidents i'm hoping today she will wear nappies again. I was hoping to at least wait until the downstairs loo was built which should be in the next week or 2.

Right is it time for a new thread, given that this thread has Christmas in the title?
