Diege · 29/12/2006 20:43

Hi! Still sick city here, with dd2 now joining in too!! Only dh left to go now! Wanting to try the calpol/neurofen alternating thing, but not sure about the timings for doses. Any ideas? Think it's calpol, then 2 hours later brufen etc etc, but not sure . Lol RODEO at 'exciting as it gets' comment - know what you mean! Have you had the chance to get out riding over Xmas, or is it really a term time thing when they're back at school?
Sales were v. average, and I will NEVER take dds again!! , got a few nice things for dds for the summer, (oh and, v., picked up v.cheaply Next maternity combats and jeans - oh the shame, and what a way to jinx a summer conception, lol! - can't change my mind now as I'll want to get my wear out of then ).
BEKS, phew, how old is the daughter you have to carry? Have a vision of a gangly 6 year old getting closer and closer to the ground!
CHACHA: hope dh is better, though if my dh is anything to go by, it's like having another sick child . Talking of which, I'd better get the calpol bottles lined up on window sill for tonight!

Rodeohoho · 29/12/2006 21:15

Oooh Diege, maternity wear! I can't look at it in the Next Directory or I get all sentimental! That alternating method is right, although I hold off the 5-6pm dose and 'double dose' at bedtime instead (ie. both at the same time) Have been riding too, and I'm mucking out every morning at the mo because Rach has gone to Canada for the holidays. She (the horse) is being a bit of a handful to ride at the mo (and she's a big handful too at 16.2) because she's living in and rather fresh... anyway enough horse talk, hope you're all free of sick soon (crossing my fingers for Johnathan!)
Have a great New Years party Beks! I'm really miserable at New Year - I've always found it a bit sad, saying goodbye to the year. I really should think of it as welcoming the new year but I'm far too sentimental for that! And we have got Celeb BB to look forward too! (Nova/Diege!) Do tell us if you find any good bargains! I've been looking at holidays on the net tonight - anyone done Eurocamp or does it sound like hell? Are we still doing our summer camp Brownie, Diege and anyone else who's interested? Diege, you'll prob be in early pg sickiness!

Diege · 30/12/2006 09:37

Morning! Well, dd2 seems better this morning, after a very disturbed night - plus dh decided to wake me up to tell me about his dream (he was a contestant in Xmas BB apparently...)L still very unsettled, so she's having a nap at the moment.
RODEO: yes, def. up for camping trip - in fact we were only talking about it the other day! I wouldn't hold your breath about a pregnancy annoucement over the next few months - took us 5 months or so with dd2, so thinking it'll happen towards end of summer perhaps!Riding sounds great btw - wow, a big horse there too; was going to write something about very toned inner thighs, but sounds a bit pervy
Speak later!

Diege · 30/12/2006 09:38

Oh yes and looking forward top celeb BB!! Also 'this life' updated thingy, though you may all be too young to remember the original

JenJam · 30/12/2006 11:12

Hi everyone, bit early but wanted to say HAPPY NEW YEAR! AND A BIG THANK YOU TO FINN'S SECRET SANTA FOR THE VERY SWEET LITTLE BLAZER.

I must say it was very very generous of you secret santa. i feel that my gift was too inexpensive, in comparison.

I have spent half an hour trying to upload a picture of him wearing it. tried twice but kept getting this page is not displayed (anyone know why?). Anyway, I've made a new folder called christmas 2006, if anyone else would like to put their christmas photos up.

Christmas for us was as usual (fine in our pre baby days) a roadshow. we've slept in four different houses in 5 days, and have barely been in our flat. feel quite exhausted and was very ill before christmas and now unwell again, this time with a less fierce cold.

Now we're just about to head off to the yorkshire dales to celebrate the new year with james's parents leaving my much younger sister in charge of our flat to have a small new years gathering (oh dear

I'll try again with the piccie when i get back as james is struggling to take care of finn and load the car.

Diege i went shopping yesterday (thankfully without F - it was hell on Oxford Street) bought a cute little top for F and....a handbag which James wants me to take back today because he thinks i have too many (is he mad!!! it was such a bargain and i'm still overweight i can't bring myself to buy any new clothes until i've lost a stone.

Anyway, better get moving.

hope you all have lovely new years evenings (Beks i'll be thinking of you in the hot tub...sounds gorgeous), we'll just be tucked up with a slap up dinner and a bottle of bubbles.

J

JenJam · 30/12/2006 11:34

yesSSSSSSsssss! I did it! have to convert to jpg in order to upload

photo of Finn in his secret santa gift is on yahoo --- blazer is a little big big, but will be perfect for early spring

right really must go now

Jen

novadandypowder · 30/12/2006 16:51

Sick bug has gone - don't think I passed food poisoning on as DH, MIL and noo were all fine. FIL thinks it may have been the fact we had a lot of rich food that he doesn't normally have for christmas dinner and his delicate stomach couldn't handle it. I was quite fanatical about cleaning everything a million times with anti-bac wipes in a bid to keep the lurgy under control.

I have been enjoying making up for four days of little/no food .

No plans for new years eve, but we are hosting a new years day gathering, as we're all old fogies with kids now .

Looking forward to next thursday as I have a 3d scan booked .

Probably won'r get on before so - Happy New Year everyone

Big Kiss xx

Beksmum · 31/12/2006 11:36

Hi all just in case I don't get back on again today, just wanted to wish everyone a Happy New Year and a Happy Eid to Chacha

Here's to a happy, healthy and fun filled '07 Cheers girls Beks

ChaCha · 31/12/2006 14:46

Thanks Beks!!

Happy New Year Girls!!!! Hurray!!

We are spending New Year & Eid in bed (with family box of tissues, lemsips and lots of v.unhealthy food - he hee!). Had been looking forward to dinner out and a bit of shopping but at least we're all resting and hopefully getting better.

Talk to you all next year then!! Love and Hugs xxx

GarfieldsGirl · 31/12/2006 20:13

Hope you can enjoy Eid & all your unhealthy food ChaCha, and hopefully tissues will soon be gone.

Happy New Year

What's everyone else doing tonight? I'm on my own, DP's best mates birthday today, so he's out with him. (actually rather be on my own, I don't have to stay up late then. )

Busy start to the new year. Taking Owen to the footy tomorrow (if it's not postponed that is), trying to think of a silly banner to take so that the cameras pick him out as it's the live game on Sky.

Then Kylie on Tuesday. I'm soooo excited. I think she's amazing. To be up on stage a year and a half after being diagnosed with cancer is just fantastic. I think I'll be deaf after the show!!

Everybody have a good night, whatever you're up to, and I'll speak to you all next year!!

Diege · 31/12/2006 21:12

Just popping in to wish everyone a very Happy New year/Eid for 2007. Thanks for your friendship over the last year(s)!!, and here's to next year!
Right, back to vegging in front of the box!

Oh and L still v.poorly Took her into the out-of-hours doctors this morning (Mr. Charisma ) and seems she has possible German Measles/virus as typical rash developed last night. He also tells us she has impertigo on her shoulder, but I am sure it's just her excema as she's has the same spot since a few weeks old. So, now on antibiotics...

Well, hoping to enjoy last few days off before work - at least the sickness has been confined (touch wood!) to the hols!

See you next year!

Rodeohoho · 01/01/2007 00:09

[grion] Happy 2007 Girls

and Happy Eid Chacha

Beksmum · 01/01/2007 02:24

Morning all

Happy New Year - had a great time at the party and feeling rather puddled. Even sang karoake - Ben said I was terrible and deserted me - kids - see no appreciation

Hope you've all had an enjoyable evening and that 2007 brings you bacon sarnies in bed - at least I hope that's what I'm getting Beks

Diege · 01/01/2007 08:54

Morning!! Hope you got your bacan butties BEKS!! .
Well, L seems much better this morning - now I'm getting greedy and thinking about nursery tommorrow - she will have been on antibiotics for 48 hours, but still not getting my hopes up! Unselfish reasons really, as had booked tickets to take dd1 to see 'Flushed Away' as a last treat before back to school on Weds - obviously not possible with L in tow!
Right, new year resolutions..

  1. To pass my driving test
  2. To be calmer and less 'shouty' with dds and dh
  3. To 'get through' work and find something better.
  4. To clear my clutter, buy a new house and be moved in by summer.
  5. To 'lose' my tummy - after getting to target weight in Nov, it's all starting to creep back on now!!
  6. To start ttc no.4 in summer
May have to modify these as and when!! Right, back to finish choocy biccies - once they are 'out of the way' I can start afresh .
BrownieBells · 01/01/2007 17:55

Hello
Happy New Year ! and Happy Eid to Chacha & family.
Here's hoping that 2007 is the best yet! That ll of us receive our hearts deisres and that everyone is healthy and as prosperous as they can be!
Diege - nice list of resolutions - I forgot to make any (well, for me at least! have already informed DH of his! ) but I will endeavour to come up with some for me in a bit, and then launch them into this domain so that I will forever be bound by them!
Think we are still up for camping (in the warmer weather though!) Perhaps a weekend in the late Spring / early Summer? anyway, plenty of time to organise that one!

Hope Libby is on the mend Diege - Measles!? not pleasant.

Hope everyone else is doing grand! Think I might watch King Kong later! We recently got sky + and have to say it is fab!!

Off to think up some resolutions!

Brownie

Londoner · 01/01/2007 19:26

HAPPY NEW YEAR & HAPPY EID!

Hope you all had a great time and looking forward to a great 2007 with toddling babies in tow and our new arrivals!

Rodeohoho · 01/01/2007 21:32

Evening!
Hope everyone has had a lovely New Years Day! We've spent the day at my mother's, eaten and drunk far too much! Bella and Joe are staying there overnight, so we've got a quiet evening (nearly) to ourselves!
I'm with Diege when she said thanks for the friendship girls , it's been lovely and long may it continue! I'm really looking forward to Chacha & Nova's new arrivals too! I've changed my mind and think you'll both have boys now (Have a great 3d scan on Thurs BTW Nova)
Oooh bacon butties Beks - Yum! Did you get them? New Years party sounds great! And a 2am post eh? Must have been good
Diege, great resolutions, I'm sure you'll do them all I need to eat a little less food, do a bit more exercise and try to swear a little less Glad you've got rid of the sickness bug, just in time for school/nursery - good timing! Well done you! Late Spring/Early Summer sounds good Brownie - we don't want to freeze to death in our sleeping bags! Enjoy King Kong! I watched The Hours on Saturday night, which was quite sad, especially because the little boy in it really reminded me of Joe I really should have watched a comedy!
They'll be getting rid of these soon so I'll use one now Night all! x x x

ChaCha · 01/01/2007 23:49

Hi girls,

Have read all posts and have been meaning to write replies but keep getting side tracked! Love the New Year Resolutions, I shant be that ambitious - was never any good at keeping mine though I am determined to lose the weight post new arrival - although i don't actually foresee that i'll be sitting with feet up snacking on tasty treats this year and thus piling on unwanted pounds...may turn into a stick! Wishful thinking? My friend was a size 18 and after b/f baby number two and running around after the two of them is now a size 12 - this happened over an 8 month period - is great! Will not hold my breath, knowing my luck opposite will happen.

Well, thought I was better today and ready to go out but no sooner did i start making preparations than the 'hit by a truck' feeling came over me and on the sofa i stayed all afternoon - only comfortable way to sleep at times. DS is still coughing like a little old man and has just sicked all over yet another clean bed - I cannot keep up with the washing and DH has kindly suggested to take all the linen (there are bulks of it) to the laundrette instead - am so glad he's back from holiday, I just don't have the strength these days. Have crappy sciatica at moment so am walking around clutching buttock and making lots of strange noises - climbing stairs and lifting DS are a nightmare, I hope it has eased by the morning.
Cannot believe baby is due 'next month'!!
I am sooooooo scared.

Thanks, thought i'd start the new year with a bit of a moan - always feels good and will limp off now in the hope of a fairly decent night's sleep in a clean bed minus calpol/benyllin, milk or snot stains.

p.s. Diege, was LOL at bottles lined up on window sill, same scenario here! Hope L is alright - how are you coping?
Nova - Enjoy the scan, the pics of Noo were so clear last time, hope you have the same luck and not the sleeping baby that we saw!
GG - Can't remember much about it now but you were helping DS in my dream. Enjoy the Kylie concert - am sure you'll have a great time.
JJ - Nice to see you post. Don't think SS went to any expense - I heard that he has a passion for Christmas Online Sales

Sorry if this has ended up being a page long I haven't been out in a while!

Beksmum · 02/01/2007 11:09

Hi all

Great messages, agree on the thanks for the friendship, I really enjoy my 5 minutes of peace and quiet I get while catching up with you lot.

Chacha Oh my goodness, how fast has your pregnancy gone - bet you don't think so but I can't believe we'll have another new arrival next month and then Nova's too - wow what a nice start to the year. Hope you're feeling better soon.

Nova good luck with the scan are you going to post the pics for us to see our new arrival in advance or are you going to make us wait?

Diege eek at the GM, hope it's not and that Libby feels better soon.

Rodeo I'm sure we were separated at birth - those were my resolutions too in exactly the same order

GG Enjoy the Kylie concert tonight - bet she'll be fab

Right best go & get ready as off to organise dh's suit for saturday and taking the kids to see Mother Goose this afternoon - all together now "Oh No You're not"

Have a great day everyone Beks

LaylaandSethsmum · 02/01/2007 15:33

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERBODY!!

We had a quiet one , some friends came and stayed over but we still managed to get through 6 bottles of wines and various spirits and wine!

Haven't made any resolutions as never stick to them ( although to loose another stone would be fab !!)

Back at work today, shame but hey need to start saving for summer hols now.

ChaCha ,

hope you all had a lovely Eid , Eid Mubarak to you and yours!

Nova hope the scan goes well on thursday, maybe you could give us a sneaky peak on yahoo?

Rodeo, we should meet up soon now the older ones are back at school? Let me kow.

My little new year message to you all is a big thankyou, although i've only met a couple of you in RL, i feel like I know you all really well and that means alot.
Hope 2007 brings you all everything you wish for !!xxx

BrownieBells · 02/01/2007 22:06

Helloo! Right, have been trying to think of some resolutions, so here they are:

  1. To try and swear less (am concerned that T's first words may be either bugger or bollocks!?)
  2. To tell all those I love, that I love them as often as possible - to savour and cherish every moment we have together.
  3. To be more organised, which may mean making lots of lists! (which I also have a tendancy to misplace!) but I must get organised, both at home, at Brownies (expecially for Brownies!) and also at work.
  4. To make an attempt to be more tidy! To pledge to get rid of stuff I really don't need anymore (yes, I am a hoarder!)

I think this may do me for now, as I don't want to overdo it!

I have already made a start on number 4. - I have been going through my makeup - and chucking the really old stuff - and by old I mean nearly 20 years old!!!
Right, off to upload the photos of my old phone onto the pc - as my new vodafone phone should be up and running tomorrow (yeah right, is that a flying pig I see?!)...

I also would like to echo the sentiments made about the friendships formed on here...I too have only met 2 of you in RL, however, I consider all of you very close friends. And I have not spent as long on here as some of the original gang, but that has not deterred me - oh no, I am in it for the long haul!!

B
xx

Diege · 03/01/2007 09:37

Morning! . Good too see all the new year resolutions flooding in - at your 20 year make-up BROWNIE!!!have visions of sparkly pale blue eyeshadow and frosted lipsticks! . Hope your first day back went OK L&S - I'm baqck tommorrow. Doesn't Christmas seem years ago!
How was Mother Goose BEKS? - hopefully good fun and not too 'cringey'; there again with los you can't avoid the audience participation! . RODEO: saw 'The Hours' too - v.sad, but so good too. Yes, late Spring would be really good for camping -maybe end of May (bank holiday???) Just throwing in a date to get us thinking .
Well, dd1 back at school today, so heading out soon to shoe shop with dds - hopefully a painless visit. gave up yesterday after waiting 20 mins in Clarks, so giving our village branch a go. Sooo gloomy here, and loads to do,but motivation seriously lacking!!!
Speak later

Rodeohoho · 03/01/2007 10:55

Morning!
My 2 back at school too, had a last minute frenzied search for Joe's book bag, Bella's school shoes and various items from PE Kits, but apart from that they got off ok Now trying to decide what to do with the Christmas tree, it's looking quite sad and droopy but not yet dropping needles, I was going to take it down today but mow I'm wondering if I should wait til Epiphany, hmm......
Diege, good luck shoe shopping, you might get some bargains if you're lucky!
Brownie get yourself down Boots woman!! I bet the 20 year old stuff was a pallette of some description?
L&S meet up sounds good - if we go next week we might still pick up a bargain or 2, I can do any morning - what are your days off?
How was the panto Beks? My step-dad ended up on stage at Aladdin in Nottingham a few weeks ago and the crowd were booing him because he's from Derby which he thought was great! And he got to kiss Claire Sweeney [cue rolled eyes from Mum] And Christopher Biggins spent the rest of the performance shouting 'Are you alright Dave?!' from the stage at him
Chacha, how are you today? I'm sure things will be much easier when baby is out, sciatica must be awful And here's to a svelte new you come Summer! Are you going for a VBAC BTW? 2 of my friends did this and said it was much easier With Beks when she said she can't believe it has gone this fast!!
Better make a move and finish the housework while Jess is napping - she's been so grouchy the past few days, think she must be getting over a virus as she's got a blotchy rash over her body and a snotty nose. She got her 2nd top tooth though the other day which hasn't helped with the snot/dribble combo. Yuk! Speak later x

GarfieldsGirl · 03/01/2007 19:16

lol Rodeo, I read that as your dad got to kiss Claire Sweeney and Christopher Biggins!

Glad to hear I was helping in your dream ChaCha, agree with the others that its gone so quickly (I'm sure you'd disagree though, and Nova too).

Nova, enjoy your scan tomorrow, echo the requests of everyone else, it would be lovely to see some pics on yahoo.

Hi to everybody I haven't mentioned.

Kylie was amazing. I don't think there were many dry eyes. She really is fantastic. And the stadium looks awesome (we did the tourist thing and stood at the end taking photos ).

Diege · 03/01/2007 19:25

I interrupt this thread to bring you all news of the most important variety....

Celebrity Big Brother starts at 8pm on channel 4 !!!!! .
Come on girls, you know you want to!!

GG: very of you and Kylie - what a great night that must have been . Hope Jess is a bit better RODEO - it's never ending isn't it! And just when you have the other 2 back in school..Presume you will be glued to the screen like me??? .
Hi everyone else...meant to say before that I too can't believe how fast CHACHA'd pregnancy is going!!!, though you poor thing with all the aches and pains .
And good luck to NOVA too with the scan; how exciting!!
Right, tea to make then BB before marking essays, ironing, etc etc!!!
