Evening
Ooh like the school question! I think I would veer towards school 2 too, especially as your friend loves it too, and the Dynasty headmistress would really put me off! But Tex is right saying you'll question your decision whichever it may be, sit on it for a while. Reminds me of when my mum was looking for a nursing home for my gran last year, one beautiful posh one and one slightly shabby homely one They chose the 2nd.
Tex, thanks for the extra info! Send her our love when you see her next Good news on Rosie, fingers crossed she will grow out of it.
Hello Diege, GG & Twinkle, have a great day next week!
Hi L&S, hope you are all well Hey have you heard? we're getting a Zara and a H&M in Derby, hurrah!
Chacha, you've not gone in yet have you? Sending masses of love and best wishes, sooo excited about pending announcement
Speak tomorrow x x x

Hi ladies,

Am still here - cleaned, de-cluttered and organised every kitchen cupboard today and although shattered feeling very pleased with the outcome. Hope this means i'll have more than last night's 3 hours of sleep!

Nova - I also like the sound of school number two. Image of Dynasty extra had me in giggles...can just picture it! (I went to nursery and primary school on St.Marks Road - loved it! Real life people!)

Hi to everyone [big wave] will still be here tomorrow, have the bedroom to do next - nesting is a funny old thing!!

Nighty night x

ChaCha · 14/02/2007 12:24

Oh Come on Ladies! It can't still be me on here....

Well, I saw every half hour of last night right through till 6am! I think i am going to trash the sofa very soon, i am so sick of it now and it's lost its comfortability too. I'm really looking forward to being able to play with DS properly, you know, sitting on the floor with his toys, rolling around having fun, cuddling him to sleep etc..It's been a bit difficult the last few weeks but shouldn't complain, at least it wasn't for entire PG.

Feeling v.emotional about new arrival, big mixture of feelings, all normal isn't it?!
Mum is here, on sofa downstairs cuddling DS who is fast asleep, his teeth were playing up and so he was biting and jumping on furniture and really being a handful. Has had some 'med-sin' now and will hopefully wake up a little less 'charged'.

Thanks for listening. Not sure what to be doing with myself, lack of sleep, excitement, nervousness etc.. you name it!

novadandypowder · 14/02/2007 13:44

This should make you chortle then headmistress of school 1.

Think I'm actually preferring school 1 after all that, I'm just left with an image of the kids playing maths games on the interactive white boards during break time rather than eating jam tarts in a tiny classroom.

Diege · 14/02/2007 13:50

Hi CHACHA! I'm here! . Yes, perfectly normal to feel up and then down about the new arrival. Remember wailing to dh that things will never be the same again - that I would miss there being just the 3 of us (what have we done!!) etc etc, but of course have bever looked back as all the dds get so much out of having siblings, plus of course no.1 is such a form of entertainment for the new baby (and vice versa to some extent)that it really does seem easier second time around! remember I only had 16 months gap between dd1 and 2, and I remember thinking the the hardest bit was being pregnant with dd2 - after she was born it was a (relative) doddle! Hey and you have a clean house! (err, make the most of that one, lol - one thing that does get harder! You will be FINE and we are all very excited waiting with you!!!!
Well, this afternoon I am doing the dreaded, but much promised 3 on the bus to the hairdressers, for L's first proper cut and trims for the other 2. Sort of apprehensive, as they tend to get their 'giddy heads' on when in that sort of situation, which can be really hard to control (through gritted teeth)...then on to the dreaded Macdonalds....
Right, best get sorted! Speak later (and have a rest now CHACHA!!!).

Diege · 14/02/2007 13:52

No, that's not really her is it Def. no. 2 now ...

feetheart · 14/02/2007 14:16

Quieter today but you lot can really chat

We are in the middle of birthday party hell here. I made nearly all of my friends locally in a post-natal group (plus a few others that had antenatal links with some of the others) Hence all the children have close birthdays and this year everyone is having a party. We had 2 last week, 4 this week (including 2 today!) and then Tessa's and her best friend's next week though at least theirs is a joint one!!!
I also have one poorly little boy (teeth and a cough thing) who can't bear me being more than 6 inches away from him

Amazing news from BoB, that must have been one hell of a shock! She doesn't do things the easy way does she?? Huge Congratulations if your lurking BoB, or if Tex can pass them on.

Much sympathy on the furniture front Nova. I had/have the same problems with my flat, the number of things that have had to be returned over the years! At least its the tenants' problem now! Think the Dutch have the right idea - everything goes up through the windows.

Right, party No2 is calling.

ChaCha · 14/02/2007 14:21

Diege - Thank you But you know what? I really wouldn't mind being in your shoes you know...all this taking DD to cinema, trips to the hairdresser, fast food and what not...I don't mind standing in at any time You do really enjoy it don't you? LOL.

Keep dropping hints to DH that a meal out/cinema etc.. would be really nice tonight as I won't be able to eat/drink from 6pm tomorrow (there, the cat is officially out of the bag!) but i think he is just too busy He's a long day on-site and then has to get an assignment prepared..boo hoo!! Think i'll just have to console myself with a pizza and DVD... boo hoo!

Nova - I can hear the theme tune playing in my head now, LOL! Are both schools within similar distance too? Go with your gut instinct i say, you'll feel what's best. I think growing up in LG is fab - loved every minute of it - she'll have a great time!

novadandypowder · 14/02/2007 14:54

OMG I've just eaten a whole tub of these . They are just sooooo more-ish.

Chacha - your excitement is contagious, I wouldn't be sleeping if I was you either. It must be quite nice to come on here and chat about it.

Well, we're not doing too well in the romance stakes either if thats any consolation. DH left my card on the counter this morning, and I left his card there for him to pick up after I'd gone back to bed. We're planning a nice dinner in tonight, although I did the typical thing of saying don't bother with flowers, and now I'm looking out of the window hoping for a lucious bouquet to arrive! All thats been delivered so far is a step stool for noo.

I've discovered the cheeky monkey can actually climb stairs, she just choses not to. She started wriggling near the top yesterday, so I put her down so I could open the stair gate and she climbed up the rest of the stairs and through the gate. She will now walk to the car in the mornings, but still won't walk from the car to the nursery.

lol - but I'm actually going to get another quinny zapp. I've had a few times when I really wished we just had a little spare buggy in the boot, and there's a place on ebay that sells mothercare returns (non-faulty) for £54.99. I can't believe there are people on the for sale boards here that are wanting over £100 for theirs - you can get them from kiddicare for a little more than that.

hahahaha - after all that I've just had some roses delivered

ChaCha · 14/02/2007 15:39

Hey Nova - Your link took me to 195 different search results I just know you didn't scoff all of that!!!!
And Yes, it's great to be able to share my thoughts on here. Can't imagine texting my friends everytime i have a worry or question or just want to 'say something' IYSWIM. My friends are either busy working and will only tolerate so much PG/baby chit chat and the others have kids of their own - trivial chit-chat is usually reserved therefore for our coffee trips/house visits or phone calls.
The crazy thing is because i'm keeping my section a surprise i have no one to really share my excitment with IYSWIM and so it's great to do so here. My best friends don't even know yet and i'm sure DH is in denial bless him. Ah well!

You got some flowers then That's lovely! Hope you have a nice evening whatever you do. I am back to moving furniture and cleaning walls and the like... will leave you all in peace...

novadandypowder · 14/02/2007 16:17

hahaha - I checked it before posting so not sure what happened to that link, I certainly did NOT eat all that, but I'm sure I could have. It was supposed to link to a tub of macadamia nut turtles.

Rodeo · 14/02/2007 17:22

Happy Valentines Day!
There must be something in the air Chacha, or your sending my pyschic messages, I've been decluttering all day too! I find it's so relaxing when it's done, just sat down with a cup of tea, ahhhh Well to be fair Jess has destroyed the front room again, but hey. I've got her wearing a little button up polka dot dress which is taupe with light blue spots, which my SIL bought her, but she looks like something from wartime! Maybe I'll wait til she's a bit bigger and she can wear it with jeans!
Ooh cat out the bag Chacha, fab!! Think I was all over the place on the run up to my section but you'll be fine (Just prepare yourself to blub your eyes out the first time you see Z post-section, he'll look soooo big )
Diege, LOL at 'giddy heads on' hope it went well - are you going for the GI Jane look again Oooh McD's! I love BigMacs, they are my downfall!
Nova, Haha at you eating entire contents of Hotel Chocolat! We could help you with that!
Feetheart - enjoy the parties!
Better make a start on tea Bye! x

Londoner · 14/02/2007 18:53

Hi all,

Ooh ChaCha, Friday! So exciting! Yes totally remember being all over the place in every way leading up to births of subsequent children, you will switch to calm 'babymoon' once you're home with lo #2 ime, esp as it sounds like you have everything so well prepared in advance.
Nova, they both sound pretty good, perhaps that's why it's such a diff choice? Only thing I could think of to add to good advice on here was that if you did go for the 2nd one if there were ever any problems or anything, would dh be annoyed at you '...knew we should have gone for 1st school...' etc and if there were probs with it would you feel you had to keep them to yourself because it wasn't dh 1st choice? Suppose what I mean is to agree in advance that you're both happy with the choice made, which I'm sure you'd do anyway. Good luck with your decision making, it is soooooo hard when it comes to schools isn't it?
Diege, so good to read your posts again, how did the haircuts go? Quick, get your feet up and a copy of Grazia woman,..... or did you already read that at the hairdressers? Now, what about Jen's nose, d'you think she really had it done......?
Hi feetheart, lovely to hear your news, blimey, whoever said you can never go to too many parties, they ought to try being you for the day!
Hi Tex!
Hi Rodeo! How cute did J look in that dress, awww, can you post a pic on yahoo? would love to see.
Hi L&S, GG, BB and all!
Right, must make place look at least a little tidy for dh to come home and cook me romantic dinner, yum!
Happy Valentines Everyone!

Londoner · 14/02/2007 19:07

Oh, Nova, and would school 1 give you more chance of getting into next level school as well? Sounds like this could be golden ticket type of school to me, so maybe that's worth chucking into the decision-making equation too? Hope that made sense?

GreedyGecko · 14/02/2007 20:27

Evening everyone.

ChaCha, so Friday is the day your new LO will be here then. You'll be fine. Everything will slot into place when he/she is here. Yes, agree with what Rodeo said, you'll be shocked at how big Z is the 1st time you give him a cuddle afterwards. On a selfish note, can somebody please text me to let me know the news as I won't be online after tomorrow.

Diege/Twinkle, I'll put your mobile numbers on my phone, just in case I need them

feetheart, hope you're surviving the parties, sounds like you're almost at the end of the tunnel though!

Hi Nova, Londoner, Rodeo, Tex, Brownie, L&S, Beks (How are you? Still hectic?) xx

BrownieBells · 14/02/2007 20:32

Hello, and a Happy Valentines to you all

Chacha - am v excited by the prospect of Chach No. 2! and am sending lots of love and hugs to you and yours - v excited, and can't wait for the announcement and whether it is pink or blue and what you have chosen for a name.....

Tex, echo Rodeo - please send love and congrats to Bob et al from the Brownie family, next time you speak (or directly if you are lurking Bob)

Nova - now have the Little Life Daysack - T loves it!! My Dad also bought one, for when he has T (as you know he is part of my childcare) so that T has what he is used to at both houses...We tried it out just after we bought it, and it seemed to go down really well....have you tried it with Noo again yet?
Don't think I can offer much advice re schools (apart from, is that photo for reall!! it made me smile!) Am sure whatever you decide, it will be right for Noo and you & dh...
Ooh - go on, give us the link to the ebay place, you know how we love a bargain!! (although not sure I could justify another buggy - but have always fancied a Quinny, and know dh thought they looked cool, so maybe......!)

Right, off to watch PB recorded form Monday (DH watching the brits - which frankly looks a pile of pants to me!)
As for Romance - DH gave me a dozen red roses last night and cooked me steak tonight! (I am a lucky girl). I bought him a lovely set of underwear (for me of course!!! but he gets to see me in it!!!! )

Speak later

Brownie

BrownieBells · 14/02/2007 20:34

Ooh - sorry, crossed posts GG. Hope you are well!?

BB

Diege · 14/02/2007 22:35

Evening all! Have just sent you an e-mail GG confirming next week! Very excited! Oh and btw we can compare gymnastic medals (saw your profile!)!!Nothing amazing, but like you had my moments in my teens! Sooo exciting CHACHA, just one day left!! Hopefully you got a bit of pampering after all tonight? - at least a rest hopefully Oh and I'll bear you in mind for babysitting duties LONDONER - no time for mags at the moment, as still marking!!! Have been granted an extension till Friday, so just the last push now! No 'giddy heads' RODEO, but had to have a few sharp words. Hairs are all nice, and L have a very sharp fringe . Get a quinny BB! I love mine - so easy to push (with one hand too) and looks cooool .
Hi to everyone else!

ChaCha · 15/02/2007 05:22

Good morning

Diege · 15/02/2007 08:10

CHACHA!!!!!! Not a good night I take it? Just getting the girls off to nursery/childminder, so will catch up later

feetheart · 15/02/2007 08:25

Morning ChaCha - up with the larks again!! Hope your not nesting at this time in the morning? I am very impressed with it all. The only nesting I ever did throughout both my pg was last time for about an hour between my waters breaking and the midwife turning up to examine me - it was 4am though

We seem to have survived party-time so far though I felt like a bad Mum dragging a poorly Ash along yesterday afternoon. Its the first time I've really felt that the needs of one didn't fit with the needs of the other. A few quiet days at home are in order now.

Poorly boy demanding breakfast now so may talk later.

novadandypowder · 15/02/2007 08:42

oooo chacha I bet you must be sooo excited .

Feetheart - lovely to see you posting again

Londoner - you're right about school 1 feeding through to the 'right' secondary schools. Talked it through with DH last night (how romantic!) and we're definitly going to wait it out to see if we get a place at school 1. They told me I was well placed on the list and it might swing in our favour if we have dc2 registered aswell.

Brownie - this is the ebay seller. They don't have all their stock on ebay so if you call the warehouse manager he can tell you if they have any other colours etc. Think they only have pink online at the mo, but he said they get new stock in all the time, and that they did have a couple of black ones. You've got to check though as they don't necessarily come with the travel bag (not essential unless you want to take it on a plane), and the rain covers are sold separately. You can get a general rain cover from another seller on ebay though for £3-4. I could have got mine today but as I'm not in this afternoon I've asked them to send it for tomorrow. I'll let you know what it's like when it turns up, but their feedback on ebay is excellant.

Diege - very brave on the hairdresser front, I'm dreading taking noo for the first time.

Yes, the Brits was pants

Right, best go and get ready for the day, another ante natal check at the hossie.

alfiesmum · 15/02/2007 09:27

Must just wish chacha loads of luck for tommorrow, going away for the weekend but will be thinking of you xxx

Nova - I must say that I am a secret snob and would also go with school 1, I thought (excusing everything else ) the headmistress had a very kind face.
I have had a massive pushchair clearout, got rid of four and now I'm left with my bugaboo (that I know you hate, I noticed on another thread ) and have just bought a zapp. I use the bugaboo everyday when I walk to preschool, its great because Alfie can stand on the back bar when he gets tired. I bought the zapp so that I had something small to whip out of the car quickly and I have been pleased with it so far (Shut me up, I could talk pushchairs all day!)

bob if your out there, many congratulations!

I think someone asked about changing from cot to bed a while ago? Alfie went into a bed at about 18 months when he learnt to climb out of his cot! so didn't have much choice. Oscar will be in a cot for as long as possible to save on room, his bedroom in the caravan is the size of his cot and standing room for one person and god knows where we will be living in six months time!

Well Oscar has started walking at last, took his first proper steps on Tuesday is now toddling round the lounge

We are off to Butlins tomorrow for the weekend, dh is taking a very rare weedend off from the house and we would go mad spending it in the caravan. Staying in the shoreline hotel that has been advertised on the telly (looks quite nice for butlins!) will let you know if the little ones enjoy it.

Beksmum · 15/02/2007 11:17

Hi girls

Just a quickie for me to wish Chacha the very best of luck for tomorrow, will be watching out for the announcement. Love & hugs to you and yours.

Bob many congratulations, what a fab story, hope Sophie brings you many more unexpected pleasures

It's half term here so still pretty busy and I'm supposed to be making a rat with Ben now so better push off, love to all Beks

feetheart · 15/02/2007 11:21

"Making a rat'??!! Tell us more please!
