Diege · 03/01/2007 19:25

Why does my bold never work?

Diege · 03/01/2007 19:25
Hmm
ChaCha · 03/01/2007 20:27

Hi girls,

Just popping in as i'm reading/posting on MN for a while. DH has gotten DS to sleep and the quiet time is just fab!

BB - What a good excuse for a make up bag revamp! Is there a particular brand that you favour? I couldn't be without some light foundation and mascara - what about you guys? My make up bag is small, compact and only holds the essentials - small light foundation, mascara, eyelash curlers, and tiny tub of vaseline as opposed to lipstick (haven't worn lipstick in years) and some Kohl (powdered eyeliner stuff). I always enjoyed trips to the beauty counters after work to try new make up and perfume - and what's everyone's favourite scent btw? Gosh i'm being v.girly aren't i?

BB - at swearing? But...you're a brownie Are you participating in the helping save the planet thing? I think it's great. I enjoyed the Brownies when younger though not the uniform, I looked like a pixie!

GG - Glad you had such a great night, knew you would

Rodeo - Poor Jess, everything at once. We have bottom tooth number 3 half way through with similar snotty nose to match...lovely isn't it? And still more linen needing washed!

Diege - Enjoy BB - Grrrrr!

Night all x oh and good luck tomorrow nova x

Rodeohoho · 03/01/2007 21:02

I'm watching CBB and posting at the same time - such a multi-tasker Ahhhh, Leo Sayer! And S Club's Jo
Oooh Chacha - what great questions! I'm a light foundation, concealer, bronzer, mascara, lip salve girl! And perfume wise, currently for nights out it's Gucci Rush 2 or Stella McCartney Stella and it's Armani Acqua De Gio or CK Be in the day ps. I was pretty at Brown Owl's language too
Diege, you're bold doesn't work because you have to put the stars around every word! Are you a despo housewife fan too? I'm not going to lift my bum off the sofa all night!
GG PMSL - yes it does read like that doesn't it?! He probably would have too goven half a chance! I heard on Radio 1 Kylie was v. emotional last night too, awwww, it must have been soooooo fab! How was the travelling?
Ooooh Carole Malone! She'll cause some fireworks (hopefully) Bye for now! x

BrownieBells · 03/01/2007 22:00

Ahem - I don't swear that much!! ! Now I feel really that I even mentioned it!

Ooops - initially read Chacha's post as BigBrother, till I realised that I have changed my name to BrownieBells!!!?? what a dummy!!

And my excuse for the v old make up is thus: I was given some make up by my Nannas late next door neighbour, approx 20 years ago (she has been passed away for at least 15 years now) and to be honest I had always been a bit too sentimental to throw it away. This is not meaning now that I have, that I have forgotten her, or that I am any less sentimental, however I realise that it is time to ditch the old stuff to make way for the new!!! (oh yes!!!!!)
I also used to work in Boots many years ago, and had loads of freebies, some of which were testers! so these have now all been ditched too, as they are at least 10 years old! God I am so embarrased!!!! [hangs head in mock shame!]

GG - v of kylie - she is most def an inspiration to all of us!

Chacha - I lurve Benefit make up! and I also like No.7, and my cousin bought me a Ruby & Millie eye shadow pallette for Xmas! lush!
As far as perfume - I too love Stella, and also Kenzo flower, have just purchased a fabulous bottle of Vera Wang (gorgeous!) for mega bargainous price of over £40 off!!!! still expensive, but hey, I'm worth every penny!

Have managed to misplace 2 Benefit Make up bags, that I had free with a recent issue of Cosmo - am annoyed, I just can't remember where I put the blessed things - hence why I need to be more organised!!!!

I often wander around saying "if I were a make up bag, where would I be!?" (or whatever I have lost!) tonight it was Lazy garlic in Morrisons!! - I must look a complete fruit loop!

Oh - and to put your minds at rest - I definitely do not swear anywhere near my Brownies (now have visions of you all thinking I am effing & jeffing around my little leves, pixies, imps & kelpies!

Right, off to watch the rest of Taggart!

P.S - Prison Break - Series 2, 15th Jan!!!!! Can't wait!!!! (GG did you watch it too? or is it just me on my own with this one?!)

Oh and pps - Chacha - wow can't believe that bub2 is nearly here! And Nova - good luck for tomorrow hon!

xx

Beksmum · 03/01/2007 22:03

Evening girls

Just a quick one from me as trying to get Tom settled - the little rug rat is still awake - grrr!

dh out with the lads on friends impromptu stag night and Ben has just come down in tears because he's worried about starting big school tomorrow and I still haven't ironed in his name tags - argghhhh!

Brownie at your swearing, - can you get a badge for that now? Or have you got a group of Vicky Pollards?

Hmm make up, what's that then? I'm a lazy tart who would rather have 5 more minutes in bed than get up and put make up on every day. If I'm going out though I wear light foundation, bronzing pearls, shades of brown eyemake up, a tiny bit of mascara but still look like a panda and lipfinity lipstick which is fab. As for perfume my fav at the moment is Burberry Touch.

Right best go before I lose the plot with Tom, speak to you all tomorrow when I'm sure I'll be admitting to blubbing all the way home - even though Ben is only going to school for the morning Glad I've got lots of wedding stuff to do tomorrow to keep my mind off it.

Love to all Beks

Diege · 03/01/2007 22:23

thanksRodeo* (has it worked??); can you see why I can't text?. Oh and yes, currently in break of Despos ; BB should be a good one, though I thought 'The Hoff' was meant to be in there too? Did I miss him? Not that I'm a fan or anything, really...Oh and how I used to love Leo, though he's def. been at the botox!!
I lurve the make-up question!! Well, where to start, tinted moisturiser (M&S one at present), transclucent powder, touche eclat concealer, clinique mascara, rimmel eyeliner, Benefit blusher/clinique bronzer , and that's just for the daytime!! Sounds more than it looks when it's on (I hope!).Perfume-wise, I am a serial monogamist ; currently Burbery touch for daytime, or Clinique 'Happy Heart', Chanel mademoiselle (sp!!), and in evening CK 'Truth' or my all time fave 'Angel'.
Right, back to the housewives!

Diege · 03/01/2007 22:24

Oh and Clinique or Lancome lipglosses

Rodeohoho · 04/01/2007 11:29

Morning!
Hope Ben has a lovely first morning at school! When does he stay all day? Hope you have a good day too Beks - you'll be desperate to pick him up later
Awww, Brownie, I was only pulling your leg, sorry for embarrassing you And you do all it voluntary too, now I'm doubly - Sorry!
Ooh yes Diege, love Lancome lipglosses, I'm currently using their 'Glossy Lip Nectar' I got in a travel set which they don't do on the counter - and I've nearly ran out! Did you enjoy DHW last night? Susan and Bree were rather irritating but love Lynette and Gabriella! Ooh and gorgeous Tom! Nice to have some good TV in these winter months!
Well just taken all the decs down and hoovered all the needles up, the house feels sooo spacious now! Even though it def. isn't - one of the perks of January!
One quick baby question - are all babies still having bottles before bedtime or have you moved to beakers? If so what sort? Jess is still having her nuby bottle at night, not sure she'd take to a beaker when she's half asleep, so obviously a comfort thing, which will have to be stopped on the long run, hmmmm, maybe I'll leave it for the time being...Rambling now!
Looking forward to scan news Nova
Speak later x x x

GarfieldsGirl · 04/01/2007 11:44

New series of Prison Break. Yippee!! Thanks for mentioning it Brownie.

I don't wear make up at all in the day, and nights out it's really just the basics. Some of the girls at school and friends since put me off make-up for life with bright orange faces, and white necks etc. I'm allergic to loads of perfumes & aftershaves. I can't even walk through the perfume bit of Debenhams without coming out the other side sneezing, nose running, puffy eyes, so perfumes a big no-no with me.

Rodeo, travelling was fine. Just. Our tube from Wembley was a little late, so we had to run to the train at West Hampstead, the train was just pulling into the station as we were running down the steps.

Have a fancy dress birthday night out on Saturday. I was thinking cheereader, but can't find a costume, so I'm going to do either pink cowgirl or french maid . One of my friends is going as a princess. Am imaging her in a big ballgown in a scabby nightclub!

Hope Tom's first day at school went well, I'm sure he loved it.

BrownieBells · 04/01/2007 12:20

Hello!
GG - Def the Pink Cowgirl! I too can't wait for PB Series 2! Ooh Wentworth Miller - dreamy hunk! yummy!

Rodeo - I know you were only teasing (I think!? !)
As far as Bottles etc go - T has a milk feed in the morning, out of an Avent Bottle, with sippy cup spout (iyswim!) and the same at night but with a teat usually. Tbh I don't see anything wrong with that - all other drinks (water) are out of a beaker type thing, at nursery and so on, and he only has the 2 milk feeds a day.

Have also now realised T has got 2 molars! , yet he still only has the 3 teeth on the bottom! he is cutting them in his own way! bless! Oh and he has recently taken to smacking himself on the head with his hands! It looks quite strange, but cute in an odd kinda way!

Peacefuly day for me today (and tomorrow) as T is at nursery! and I am off work - hoorah, really should be doing housework or something, but frankly, I can't be motivated enough!

Nova - hope scan goes ok!
Beks - hope Bens first day at school goes ok, am sure it will!
Hope all others are ok....

Oh, and did anyone ever find out what Bobs big news was? She briefly reappeared for a couple of posts, said she had mega news, but then disappeared again!? strange.....

Brownie,
xx

Diege · 04/01/2007 15:27

Hi! Quickie form work! Yes,agree with Brownie GG, def. the cowgirl - cute and funky!
On the bottle front RODEO, L is still having 2 bottles a day (with teats). I've not been in any particualr rush to stop these (3rd baby thing), though with dds 1&2 syuck to 'no bottles after 12 months rule' and swopped to cups . L drinks juice out of a cup though, so think it's more of a comfort thing - plus she only has a few sips out of a cup rather than glugging it down from a bottle!!
Right, best go, first day back and all!

Londoner · 04/01/2007 16:07

Hi girls,

If I wait any longer to have time to do a 'proper' post it'll be too long....... have read posts but am up against it now. Thinking of you all with poorly ones over the hols, same here now ug, baby in sling on back all Calpolled up. But, hooray it's JANUARY and start of brand new year!

Hope scan went well Nova!

So excited CHaCha!

GG, la la la la la la la la lucky lucky lucky you!

x

Londoner · 04/01/2007 16:07

Oh and make up? What's that?

Beksmum · 04/01/2007 22:57

Hi girls

Thanks for the good luck messages for Ben, his first morning at 'big school' went really well, he painted a picture of our cat apparently and mummy held it together just about although there were a few tears when one of my mates came out in absolute floods of tears - eek

Think both kids are well and truly out of their routines though as Tom doesn't want to go to sleep at night and Ben keeps waking up in terrors. Roll on ext week when all the excitement is finally over and we can get back to normal.

Londoner hope you and the yours feel better soon

Nova hope the scan went well today.

Rodeo on the bottle front Tom still has 3 milks a day from his bottle and any other water/juice from either a beaker or a fruit shoot bottle - oh god that sounds awful, but he wants to be like Ben - I swear any juice he does have is really really really watered down

Brownie re Bob I'm guessing she's pregnant but it was a bit odd that she reappeared then disappeared again - come back Bob we miss you!

Right best go and give dh his pc back, will try and post tomorrow but if not will post again on Sunday when the wedding is over and I have the hangover to prove it. Beks

Londoner · 05/01/2007 09:52

HI ,

Beks, oh my gosh Ben's at big school! How did that happen?
Hope he enjoys his 2nd day even more no he's done it b4.

oor dd's high temp & snot and stomach's making weird howlings and gurgles, v.unpleasant.

Have heard that Bob is okay but not online atm, hopefully we'll hear from, her soon.

Right am going to try and wash ......oh perhaps not as nappy EXPLOSION!
bye

ChaCha · 05/01/2007 14:52

Beks - Well done on passing your little boy's very first day at school with minimal tears and as Londoner said too, hopefully his second day will be just as good. Hope wedding is lots of fun and enjoyed by all.

Londoner - Hiyeeee!!! Glad you posted, imagine that holiday time was busy for you with the family - did everyone have fun? How is the LO now? Any better?
We have the strangest bug/virus (or whatever it is) ever, it's just not shifting and i've been housebound forever. DS can only sleep upright (same with me right now) but I find it so frustrating when baby starts kicking and I need to visit the loo to have to wake him to get up - I can't win. My mum has come for the day and is currently playing with him downstairs - just to have 5 is lovely...ahhhhh!! I want this baby out!!!

BB - DS does the same with his head, what is that all about? Londoner is right, think BoB is just having trouble getting online. Do hope she posts her news soon though.

Talk later x

Londoner · 05/01/2007 15:22

Hi ChaCha, busy is right! DD is crying mostly, in between hitting, kicking or scratching me [sigh] to get down,(also banging own head BB, is it teeting perhaps?) only to step up growling howling mewling to be picked up again..... expect you know this one..... Zed being upright, could this be secondary infection in his ears following the virus now? Remember weeks of this with ds2 and ear infections. D'you know what used to help him every time and still does? Green grapes! Those old wives knew what they were talking about then...... sometimes..... does he like them? Worth a try, Bets lovesem but always give them halved obv. What the docs say? Poor you with uncomfyness, it's such a joy when you deliver after this isn't it! Have said b4 and will say again, I swear by sleeping/sitting on a sheepskin you would not belieeeeeve the difference it makes! Right, can't stand the noise any more, bring on the ear plugs someone!

novadandypowder · 05/01/2007 19:13

Hi, I'm sooo tired at the mo I reversed into a yummy mummy's car at nursery today . Thankfully only a cracked number plate on her car (v. posh jag ), but I've been kicking myself all day over it.

Rodeo - Noo still has two bottles (with teat) one mid-morning and one before bed. Not got any intentions of dropping it yet, assume she will just grow out of it when I move her dinner time a bit later when she's a bit older. I find she doesn't drink enough if I just use a cup, actually she still has water in a bottle, we went back to it after her tummy virus and I needed to up her water intake. She has juice from a beaker with lunch and dinner though.

Chacha - Noo hits her head, and also does a lot of head butting on her cot/wall/me. Apparently it can be a stress relieving thing?? As for make-up, I look soooo much better when I'm wearing it, but I'm with BEKS in that I'd rather have more time in bed. I always feel better with mascara, lip gloss and powder, and do go the whole hog on the rare occasions I go out now. My perfume is Agent Provocateur, but I did flirt with SJP Lovely over the summer.

Prison Break - Yay! ooooooo Wentworth Miller
DHW - Yay! Although not fond of the Bree gets together with another weirdo story line.
CBB - hmmm, slightly disappointing so far, really don't like Donny Tourette, but find the ex-Miss GB hilarious.

Londoner - sorry to hear about poorly L, but I bet she loves being carried around all day.

BEKS - congrats on surviving the first day at big school, does the picture of the cat have pride of place on the fridge?

GG - I'm guessing the outift has already been decided on, but I echo the pink cowgirl preference. I love fancy dress, am looking forward to the day when I can live out my dreams through noo.

Hi Brownie and Diege.

Will post a few pics on yahoo of the scan. They're not as good as the ones of noo as my placenta is right across the front of my belly so we had to scan through it. Therefore baby looks a bit murky. It was lovely though - yawning a lot and kicking like a mule!

Londoner · 06/01/2007 12:56

Hi all,

Beautiful scan pics Nova, amazing! Is your baby sucking their thumb in one? Looks so sweet and beautiful, well done.

Still v.high temp baby here but atm being towed around in a laundry basket by dd1 ... right must tidy up!

Rodeohoho · 06/01/2007 13:05

Morning!
Aw, lovely news on the scan Nova How many weeks are you now? 30ish? Have you decided on any names yet?
How about you Chacha? Any names? Hope you got some rest yesterday with the extra pair of hands
Thanks for the bottle info girls, I won't panic just yet then LOL at Tom swigging from a fruit shoot bottle
Wow Brownie, molars?! He's not hanging about is he!
Londoner, hope E gets better too, J is suffering too - I don't remember Bel & Joe getting poorly this often but I suppose the bigger the family gets the more germs there are! They'll be tough little things when they get to 2+ - they'll have had all the viruses going!
Beks glad first day went smoothly - how did yesterday go? Joe found it tough about 2-3 weeks in and cried every morning after that for about a month, but he's fine now at last. The teacher's say give them a term to settle in. I'm sure Ben will be fine though - now he's back with all his little mates
Best wishes to BoB whereever she may be Hope she pops back soon!
Hello Diege & GG
We're taking the girls swimming this afternoon, Joe's spending the day with his best friend and then it's off to the supermarket! Have a lovely weekend everybody, speak later x

Rodeohoho · 06/01/2007 13:09
