Beksmum · 17/12/2006 21:34

Hi girls

Well I survived it - the hen weekend went smoothly other than the beauticians pulling out about 2 hours before - grrr! Had lots of fun last night and the karaoke machine went down a storm. Really looking forward to the wedding now.

Busy how lovely to see youposst, wow life sounds busy. Hope you get the Uni place you want, don't worry about not being able to keep up, you know us lot it's all everyday stuff! Think most of the lo's are walking in one form or another now, i.e Thomas walks on his knees the rest I think use their feet All had lovely 1st b'days, what did you guys get up to?

Chahca at your shocked emoticon re Tom and the food colouring! Did get 99% of it off him but dh did think he'd cut his little finger as there was a load under his nail. The best or should I say worst thing was that Ben was saying "Thomas give to Ben Ben" and "Mum I think you better get that off him" and I just said "Oh don't worry about it sweetheart he can't get the lid off" [

Right off to wrap some presents, speak to you all tomorrow, hope you've all had great weekends Beks

Diege · 18/12/2006 11:22

Hello!! Glad the weekend went well BEKS, sounds good fun . Did you get the stripper in the end?? ?? Hope Z is feeling a bit brighter CHACHA - know what you mean about colds ; just as one finished, another seems to start! How are you feeling in yourself? Have lost track of weeks in your pregnancy! My sister is 21 weeks, and doesn't have a noticeable bump yet (no.3 too!!); her dds have just been told, and are SO excitied .
Well, my last day in work today, so just trying to tidy things up so I'm not faced with it all come January! Have just booked my driving theory test for Feb, so will have to get swotting up over Xmas. Actually passed it a few years ago (100% too!) but of course the damn thing's expired now so back at square one!!! At least I'll feel that some progress has been made if I can get through it again!
Speak later!

Rodeohoho · 18/12/2006 13:14

Hi all,
Just a quick one to say Secret Santa visited us last Friday
Nice to see Busy post! Good luck with your interview at Bristol and your driving test!
Glad your weekend went well Beks! Well done you! LOL at Ben's 'I think you'd better get that off him mum'!
Diege - 21 weeks already?! Did she find out the sex at her scan? Do you have any nephews yet?
Chacha we're suffering with colds again - Jess is really wheezy, so we've started using her inhaler again. LOL at 'Frankenstein' - Jess is 'the chimp' for similar reasons
GG - I'm finding new layout confusing too!
Glad to hear they've arrested somebody over the Ipswich murders, feel really sorry for the women's families and children

Diege · 19/12/2006 09:28

Hello!!! Well a day off work today, and dds all in nursery/school . Have driving lesson in 5 mins (boo!!), then dd2's nursery play at 2. In between am going out with dh for lunch, so should be a nice day .
RODEO: good to hear from you . Yes, good to hear about them making an arrest -it does annoy me how they have been defined first and foremost as 'prostitutes' in the media, rather than women . Hopefully their families will get some peace of mind over Christmas. On a happier note my sister asked the sex at her scan, but the baby had its foot in its mouth, and they couldn't see the relevant bits!!So just a case of waiting till March/April .
Right, best get psyched up!!!

novadandypowder · 19/12/2006 11:00

Hi ladies

Well, the poo bug has left and been swiftly replaced by a wheezy, chesty, snot bug (rolls eyes).

Took noo to see my rellies and drop off/pick up xmas presents at the weekend. Despite being told not to get anything for noo other than the stuff I'd specified, my folks have gone way overboard and she has far too many presents (rolls eyes again). They also tried to force feed (actually not much forcing going on ) noo a ton of chocolate, had to keep doing the distraction and take away trick, otherwise she would have been hyper hyper! Discovered my family also have a huge love of sharp/glass/baby face level tables that resulted in a few head bangs and a cut gum. Wish all my folks could all get together in one place though, would make it so much easier than trying to cram everyone in in a few hours.

Glad the weekend went well BEKS, come on what did you sing??

ChaCha · 19/12/2006 11:43

Hi all,

Diege - Congratulations on your sis's pregnancy, nice that your nieces are old enough to share in the excitement I am 31/32 weeks now and feeling every day of it! Was just wondering what will happen if I go into labour naturally with regard to DS. My mum was supposed to be around the week before my due date but that's not happening now and he won't be happy staying with anyone else - do we take him to the hospital with us? Am really worried about this particularly if in the middle of the night. Thanks.

DS when sleeping does this frightening thing where it seems as if he is holding his breath is this normal or somethign i should ask about? It doesn't last for long (Thank God) but enough to make me worry. Also as he had sickness and diarrhea all night would you say on experience that's its normal for breathing patterns to be different too? He was fine after sicking up the milk. And finally (so sorry) he has been waking up a few times in the night screaming but only stays up a few minutes before falling back to sleep, rubbing his head, singing etc. usually sotthes him back. Is there any reason why a baby would do this?

Nova - Sorry to hear about snot bug, it is one thing after another isn't it? That time of year maybe. Noo is very lucky to have a family that want to spoil her, I think it's great! As for all the all chocolate...wish that would happen here then I could have it all for myself

Rodeo - I was ROFL at 'the chimp', oh how i laughed!!! How is little J today then? Hope not so wheezy, I am an asthmatic and it's horrible at this time of year. Was just remembering the episode with paramedics during last year's pregnancy - such drama! LOL.

I will pop back on late this evening but won't be posting again until late next week. Still waiting my delivery to send off as SS - I didn't have it sent directly as they couldn't wrap it for me, sorry for the delay, hope it's here asap.

Lots of love x

novadandypowder · 19/12/2006 13:09

Chacha - I think the breathing is normal, or at least I've had a few times when I've been sleeping with noo and my stomach leaps when I think she's stopped breathing. Sometimes I think it's better not to know these things! Noo also has crying episodes in the night, usually about the same time of night, but always goes back to sleep, either by banging her head (which always sounds scarey), or talking to herself. I've learned now not to go into her, but it worrries me when we get round to having baby sitters as it really does sound like she's awake.

We're also a bit concerned about what to do with noo if labour starts in the night. Thankfully, I've got a couple of friends who I think I can call on. However, I'm hoping it won't come to that as the hospital will offer an induction so that we can arrange child care. Is that something you could consider? Otherwise, I'm sure you wouldn't be the first people to turn up with a lo in tow, and remember, labour can take time so you might have a bit more time to play with than you anticipate?

Thank you secret santa, noos present arrived today

Diege - DH asked me if I'd asked at the hospital without him knowing if I could find out what the sex of this baby was. He really suspected I'd do that! We have our 3d scan on 4th jan and I'm really hoping they make a mistake and show us what this one is - the suspense is killing me!!!!

SiLondonernight · 19/12/2006 18:12

Hello,

Blimey this new design is confusing - for me at least!

Hope everyone is well, sososososoooo busy here as everywhere I'm sure but sorry not to catch up!

Just to let you know, proudly, that E/Betty is toddling! Hooray! Nipped to the shops and bought her some pre-walkers by Clarks for her pressie, awwww.

Love to all!xxx

Diege · 19/12/2006 22:11

Evening . Aww LONDONER, congrats on E'as first toddle! - bet she looks really cute in her new shoes! Did you get the polaroid they take, or don't they do it everywhere? CHACHA: you know my main worry in all but my first pregnancy was who would look after dds when I went into labour - in fact I almost decided on a home birth (much to my midwife's horror I might add, her knowing about my incredibly low pain threshold )just so that wouldn't have to worry. As it was, a neighbour looked after dds when I was in labour with dd3, but we did worry about night-time labour (and yes, it started at 3am!). Just to say this is something everyone with a baby worries about, and you'd be surprised at the numbers of women who end up taking LOs in with them (according to my midwife sister). Hopefully you can sort something out, but I do know what you're going through . NOVA: Have you asked NOT to find out the sex at the 4d scan?? Go on, do it for us!! . I have a feeling you are having a girl, though I should say my 'feelings' of sex-prediction have been wrong for ALL my friends, so maybe a boy!! .
Well, feeling totally wiped out at the moment, so hoping for a good night's sleep!

Diege · 20/12/2006 10:57

Morning . Feeling much brighter today, after a full 6 hours . Just back from dd1's school play; had to hold back the tears ; something about children and carols that gets to me everytime! L disgraced herself and had to be taken out by DH (she's still a slave to that morning nap!!!)but overall a lovely morning.
It's sooo cold here! Hope everyone else is well and busy shopping! I've finished work for xmas (apart from 72 essays to mark ), and gearing up for a shopping trip into Manchester with TWINKE on Friday .

ChaCha · 20/12/2006 11:53

ChristmasBrownie · 20/12/2006 19:25

Hello Ladies

Our Secret Santa Present has arrived - Thank you

This layout is also confusing me - I don't think I like it!

Have been on a course for 3 days this week to become a "TAP" Certified Trainer - sounds a lot posher than it is! but it was incredibly hard work - spent over 3 hours last night getting a training session ready to deliver today! It also had to be filmed, and we were assessed against a whole host of criteria...anyway - thankfully I passed and got the acreditation!! Hooray for me!

Have actually braved Morissons tonight and done all the food shopping for Christmas day! (now feeling a smidge smug!) Just a couple of Presents left to buy, then I'm done (I think!?).

What are you guys doing for Christmas Day? We have got a house-full this year (our turn!) 14 for Christmas Dinner, could increase to 18 or so in the evening! Oh weel, the more the merrier!

Off to have tea now!

Love Brownie
xx

BrownieBells · 20/12/2006 19:29

Have changed my name again! What do you think? Think I prefer this to BrownieChick!?

tessasmum · 21/12/2006 00:16

Hello all! Real quickie from me as we are off to my parents in N Ireland tomorrow morning and I really should go to bed!

Thank you to Ash's Secret Santa, pressie arrived ages ago but I haven't been on much. Its under the tree now and will get opened when we get back on 29th as we haven't room for all the pressies. The way we are going we will be having another mammoth (for us!) present opening session just before New Year.
GG - Can't believe how much some people spend, think #200 would more than cover ALL the presents we've bought. I don't like the commercialism either (children's TV with ads is banned in our house!) and I am really looking forward to just spending some time with my two without having to worry about washing/cooking/cleaning/etc. We all muck in but my cleaning obsessed step-father usually redoes it

We have had a few firsts here over the past week:
1st trip to A&E - Ash (how to find the only hard surface in a softplay area!!)
1st Nativity - Tessa (DH and I both slightly damp around the eyes!)
1st haircut - Ash (again a bit emotional as my baby was replaced by a little boy but at least he can see now!)

Happy Christmas to EVERYONE and I hope you all enjoy it whatever you are doing and however you celebrate.

K, T and A

JenJam · 21/12/2006 10:24

how do i find out the address of the secret santa recipient? christmas cheer to all !

IsawLandSmumkissingSantaClaus · 21/12/2006 13:43

Jenjam go onto the Yahoo group and you will find it in the messages.

Rodeohoho · 22/12/2006 10:40

Morning all!
Can't believe these last few days are going so fast! Did the last of my present shopping yesterday which was hell - curses to dp for having such a big family! Only joking of course
Agree about all the overspending - my step-dad once bought so much for his girls last year he couldn't visit us on Christmas morning because he still had so much to wrap! Saw a good tip on here saying limit pressies to 3 per child, like the 3 kings and I have tried to stick to it this year!
Awwwww, Tessasmum, how cute are those 1sts? (apart from the first one)
Chacha, you are kind but you don't have to send a card, I'll try to send you an e-mail though
Hello to Brownie!
Well done to E (Hurray! )
And happy shopping Diege and Twinkle
Bye for now x x x

GarfieldsGirl · 22/12/2006 12:03

Hi, Christmas wrapping all done. Pressies hidden in the cupboard under the stairs. Everything from cupboard is in the back room, so we have no back room or table. Doh!!

It's just the 4 of us on Christmas day. My parents will be over for an hour or so in the afternoon, but since my brother went to prison my mum doesn't want to celebrate Christmas. Makes me feel pretty s*, and I feel like I'd enjoy Christmas more if they didn't bother because I'm obviously not important enough to want to enjoy Christmas with. Despite that, we'll enjoy the morning and the evening, Owen usually takes all day to open his presents, which I really love.

I'm getting excited now, and DP will be bringing his 'hamper' from work today. It's always huge, so no need to buy in all the goodies because they're all in there, and a huge turkey, that may not even fit in our oven!

If I don't get on before Monday, here's wishing you all a very Happy Cristmas. Enjoy yourselves everyone.

SiLondonernight · 22/12/2006 23:44

Anyone else found the NoradSanta website , so that you can check his progress?! It's fab. Obviously T won't be interested for a couple of years yet, but hey - I still believe, so I think it's fab.

Anyway, hope you are all very well, and that Santa brings you all your hearts desires.

novadandypowder · 23/12/2006 10:50

Bah Humbug - I'm slowly recovering from a very unexpected bout of food poisoning, and the culprit? Some ready cooked TURKEY!!!! I was supposed to do so much yesterday, so we're now a day and a half behind our final prep, but you know what? I really don't care !

Well, sorry to bring down the festive cheer but I'm feeling rotten.

Boo!

Christmas kisses to all of you xx

ChaCha · 23/12/2006 11:08

Hi girls,

Wishing you all very happy holidays!! Hoping that the festive period for you all is spent with your loved ones having fun and quality time together.

Still have box of cards in overnight bag waiting to be written and sent to you all - little bit late perhaps DS has been very poorly and as we are with another family with 2 small children they are just passing coughs/sniffles/everything that is going back and forth - needless to say going through linen & babygros like no tomorrow! Sorry to hear you're feeling under the weather Nova - you do have my sympathies [hug].

We managed to post SS on the way back from clinic so am happy something on the To Do List got done - we are soooo behind.

Happy Holidays girlies, back soon xx
