Hi Gosh quiet on here today - bet you're all getting your christmas shopping in! Glad you're feeling better about the work of 2 Lo's CHACHA. Certainly thew thought is far more dautning than the reality, and you will find as they get older they will amuse themselves (OK, so CBeebies helps as well )Thanks for saying I seem to cope well - certainly doesn't seem that way at times, but we muddle through and have a lot if laughs along the way!
Well, we have the pleasure of the sewerage van on our road all week - the noise, smell, invonvenience of DH have to park in the village! Oh well, could be worse, could be xmas week!
Right, need to settle a fight about whose tombola prize is whose!

Beksmum · 13/12/2006 20:26

Blimey it is quiet on here today.

Diege you do sound very organised, there is no way I could work and handle 3 kids I can't handle two most of the time.

Tom had us in fits this evening trying desperately hard to stand on a box of cars, he couldn't work out how to move his hands out of the way, so spent ages with his leg propped up on one side of the box

Have had a busy day here as still trying to finalise the organisation of my friends hen weekend starting Friday. I had arranged an Anne Summers party for Friday night but loads of people have dropped out so we have now hired a hot tub (my worst nightmare) for the weekend, my friend is from NZ so she thinks this should be summertime plus a couple of beauticians to come out then it's curry and Karaoke on Saturday night. We've bought her the machine as her hen present and Ben and I have been testing it out tonight it's great fun.

Haven't planned any other entertainment for Saturday evening, really can't make up my mind about a stripper (again my worst nightmare) or whether to get something else. Suggestions welcome please, I'm so out of practice of these things now, boring or what!

Right off to tackle the ironing mountain as out tomorrow night as well with nursery mums - it's a hard life but someone got to do it!

Hope everyone else is well Beks

Diege · 13/12/2006 21:47

Your planned hen weekend sounds FABULOUS BEKS!!; wow, you will have a brilliant time, and your friend is very lucky to have such an inspired organisor! Hmmm, not sure about the stripper, but there again, I've never actually been on a hen weekend , didn't even have one myself, so not the best person to take advice from!
Have now completed about 1 eighth of my ironing pile, after reading about your ironing plans, lol!
I HAVE to stay awake for Bodies on BBC 3; it's the finale, but am aware I have a 6am start tommorrow as giving a 9am lecture to a group of supposedly 'difficult' students, who will no doubt have gone home for end of term early (here's hoping!).
Right, I'll stop waffling on...

novadandypowder · 13/12/2006 21:55

Just a quickie, Londoner was right and it is 'just a virus', however, she's passed it on to me and DH seems to be coming down with it too. I feel awful Xmas Sad, and feel sorry for noo if this is how she's been feeling for the past week. I'm getting really bad stomach cramps and it freaks me out because it makes me worry about bump.

DH takes all my parcels to work and gets his minions to post them . Although 2 out of my 3 best friends have opened their presents already!!

Well off to bed as I'm sure I'll be woken up early by a poo filled sleeping bag. Quite glad for them actually as they contain all the mess, not sure what I'd wake up to if she just had sheets.

Sorry, very self absorbed post, but I do care about you all - honest.

GarfieldsGirl · 13/12/2006 22:25

Wow! Have a fab weekend Beks. Another for the stripper. It wouldn't be for me, but I'm another who's never been to a hen night. Eurodisney - It was a college trip. Imagine 150 16/17 year olds! Need I say more! We had the night sailing from Portsmouth - Le Havre. Very rough seas. Vomit everywhere. Drunk idiot in next cabin making lots of noise. Cabin right on top of the engine, so no sleep. Had to wait on the coach at Le Havre for an hour because a couple of drunk idiots slept through the wake up call, so lecturers had to go back to look for them. Drunk idiot throwing up all the way to Paris on the coach. Had to stop twice for 45 mins each time to clean him & the coach. Pouring with rain. Had 3 hours at the park. No signposts in the park. Soaking wet, unreadable map. Vomit stinking coach back to LeHavre. Vomit stinking boat back home. Changed to a cabin on a higher deck. Was the cabin of a girl who had been very ill the previous night. So found some sofas to curl up on in our soaking wet clothes. They changed the trip the following year & now they go by train & spend a night in Paris. You did ask!

Diege, you don't know how close you came to describing my house last year. My drain collapsed about this time. My insurance company were rubbish about it. So we had Dynorod here from 830am - 6pm on 23rd & 24th December. Hope they're gone soon. Did you see Watchdog last night? network rail are demolishing a bridge over Christmas. What a nightmare for those people

ChaCha, my SIL has a 4yr gap, then a 13mth gap. She loves her 13mth gap, tried to talk me into having a small age gap!

Owens costume was a green t-shirt & brown trousers. Nice & easy. How was Joe's assembly Rodeo? Oh & I'm another one for the 5lettered 'b' word list. My Christmas shopping was done in November. Took about 40 mins from the comfort of my sofa! [smug emoticon] Can't wrap it all until Christmas Eve though as I have nowhere to hide it all.

Nova, is Noo still biting? Does she do it at nursery? I'm just wondering as Sean bites when he's happy or excited, and just wondered if the nursery had any magic spells to put a stop to it.

Hi to everyone else. I'll stop boring you all now and watch the end of the footy.

GarfieldsGirl · 13/12/2006 22:27

Aaah, nova. crossed posts. Yes it did take me 1/2 hour to write that marathon . Poor you, look after yourself hun xxxxxx

Rodeohoho · 13/12/2006 22:30

Have just had an evening internet shopping so feeling mildly less panicky now (can't believe you did the dirty on me Londoner by sorting yours last week! )
OH MY GOD DIEGE just watching that first scene of Bodies that was horrible! Hope Nova and Chacha weren't watching.....totally put me off my post now!
Erm....Noo, that's right, poor Noo Having just gotten over our sicky bug, you have our sympathies, hope you all get better soon x
How are Thomas' eyes Brownie? How is he taking the drops? Like a star I'm sure
Beks, hen night does sound fab! We got a stripper for my friend last Summer and I wasn't sure, but the guy was quite funny and not as horrendous as I'd envisaged!
Diege, is Max Beesley going to do the dirty on that pg lady?! Never watched before, no use getting into it at the finale though! How's your sister? When is she due?
Chacha, assembly was sweet He was a teddy in an alternative nativity! Sorry to hear you're suffering with HB.
Off to bed, there's a big cyst on the telly! Yuk! x x x

SiLondonernight · 13/12/2006 22:39

Hey all, super stressful last 24 hours here, sick and snotty baby up half the night and then dh had to leave at 7am, and and .........................etc.
Beks, hen arrangements sound wonderful, although I have to agree with you about not being keen on the stripper idea but can't think of an inspired alternative for you, .
Nova, you poor things, can't believe it's still going on for Noo as well. Glad to see you're still keeping your sense of humour though. I can really understand why you're worried about your bump, if it's any help when I was pg with E and really sick with nasty coughing/puke virus and also got an electric shock from a dodgy light switch on holiday in France I went to our GP who really reassured me by listening to the baby's heartbeat and feeling the baby/asking about baby's movements and telling me that even when you're really poorly baby is usually just fine, your body is designed to look after the baby and give it all the nutrients it needs to grow, often at your expense, and the placenta protects it from most of the unwanted stuff like a great big filter. Hth a little and that you feel better really soon.

Rodeohoho · 13/12/2006 22:42

x-post GG! Oh all you b@$%*(s! LOL! I'll try and out do you all next year by getting done by the end of Oct! (yeah right!). My dad's a consultant at Network Rail - I'm sure all works carried out are essential!

Rodeohoho · 13/12/2006 22:46

x-post Londoner, oh poor you! Hope things are better in the morning - now off to bed with you! Night x

SiLondonernight · 14/12/2006 09:55

Hi all,

Better night last night thanks and baby back in action today. E has replaced sock fetish with hair band fetish. She is now sporting a hair elastic around each wrist, and slept all night gripping her current favourite even when she woke up to come into our bed lol. She keeps trying to put them in her 'hair' hopefully pulling at it and feeling how long it is it's very funny.

Glad to hear all is better in the rodeho house.

ChaCha thanks for the compliments on seeming capable, a bit of that goes a long way.

GG, did I miss something? What is the problem with Sean's feet/gait? Did not realise. Am amazed at you and your Xmas shopping, wow!

Right, must go now, the hairband robber is on the prowl, hi Diege, Nova et all! xxxxxxxx

ChristmasBrownie · 14/12/2006 12:50

Hello all! THanks for wishes for T - he is not a well little boy
Got home last night to find he had a feverish temp and was off his food a bit (which believe me is a sure sign he is not well!)
After taking his temp, ended up taking him straight down to the Docs at 5.30 - got him seen and they have given him antibiotics, and advised clapol & nurofen staggered throughout the day (in addition to the eye drops - which he hates having put in by the way! bless)
So it has been all hands to the pump as he can't go to nursery at all this week!

Still haven't posted the Secret present from santa yet - Sorry, promise will do it today or tomorrow morning at the latest - honest!

Oh and if it makes you feel any better Rodeohoho - I haven't finished my Xmas Shopping yet either! In fact, not sure I even feel festive yet....

Nova - sorry to hear Noo is still poorly woorly - and now you are not so good - hope you are all on the mend soon!

Right, best get and do some work! Lots of love to one and all!!

B

xx

Diege · 14/12/2006 15:53

Afternoon! Just a quickie from work . Oh poor you LONDONER, though glad things seem to have settled down a little. LOL at the hairband fetish - has E been observing your hair do you think? Very sweet all the same . Libby takes great pride in brushing her hair with my hairbrush, though ususally manages to brush her face instead! BROWNIE: oh no, poor Thomas!!! Just as you were gearing yourself up to being able to get him to nursery today! As long as he is feeling better though. Make sure you look after yourself too; looking after a sick child is draining as all of us know! NOVA too, hope things are a bit better with you and Noo, you poor things.
RODEO Gosh yes Bodies was GRUESOME last night wasn't it!! at that shoulder dislocation!!! Did you say you didn't usually watch it?? You would have LOVED the series - have to admit i have the hots big time for Max Beasley, though have regular mental dilemmas over who I would pick - Max Beasley or Simon Cowell???
Right, finishing off here then home!

GarfieldsGirl · 14/12/2006 20:49

Kylie's only gone & announced an extra date for her tour. New Years Eve. How cool would that be. So now we're not going to be there on opening night. Oh well, she'll still be fab anyway.

Brownie, poor little T, hopefully better soon. As Diege said, look after yourself too. Also not feeling 'Christmassy' yet, but never do until after my birthday, although I did hear 'The Pogues' song earlier which did make me feel a little Christmassy.

Londoner, aah bless her! That's so cute. Sean also likes to 'brush' my hair. It's actually more of a whack though! His little toes both cross underneath. They said his left one will straighten as its not too bad, but his right will need a splint when he's a little older. They said it's quite common because of babies gripping & balancing with their toes which can push them under. It doesn't bother him in the slightest though, and I'm pleased they won't have to operate. I had mine straightened at 13mths so was expecting an op for him.

I'm watching 'Top 50 Office Party Floorfillers' on The Hits, makes me want to get up & boogie..."Everyone around the world come on...Wa-hoo!" I feel like I'm in Flares!!

GarfieldsGirl · 14/12/2006 20:50

Oh, and Sean's parcel is being delivered to my local PO on Sat as I got to the main one today to find my card had fallen out of my pocket on the way there. Doh.

Diege · 14/12/2006 22:05

Off to bed, but just wanted to say GG that dd2 has the curled under toe thing too. It was picked up when she had her first checks as a newborn (think they called it 'congenital curly toe', lol)but the only problem it's caused her has been when buying shoes (has to take a fairly wide fitting) - apart from that, fine .
Right, bed for me! Oh and very of your Kylie tickets!

ChaCha · 14/12/2006 22:39

Beks - at T?s latest trick! Also find Z on top of toy boxes not quite knowing what to do with himself or inside them trying desperately to get back out; once out goes back in for more, repeat scenario until something better comes up!
Also no help here on Hen night having never been to one either. Couldn?t have known many friends who got married at that time in my life. Hope you all have a lovely weekend anyway

Nova ? So sorry to hear about Noo, hope that you all get some rest and try not to worry about bump ? easier said that done I know ? hope DH is around to help look after you both [hug].

GG ? Thanks for yet more encouragement on small age gap! Yippeee! It?s just looking at double buggies again that?s scaring me. Anyone have anything to say on the Jane Power Twin? Think I?ll be going for that now.
Z also bites when over excited, we call it the ?E? feeling! Grandparents now say ?Oh he has his ?E? feeling thing? too when he starts going loopy and wanting to bite everyone. I keep saying ?No biting!? to the point that when he does go to bite and I say ?Noooo?? he finishes my sentence with ?baa-tin? and sounds very Australian and funny ? I love it!

Rodeo ? Hello  Didn?t watch that programme fortunately, probably wouldn?t have stomached it, come across all weird just at the sight of a cut finger?eugh!

Londoner ? How?s everyone this evening? Any better? LOL at E?s fetishes! That is so sweet! Would love to see more pics?get the camera out! Z also likes to get his ?bwush? and brush my hair, sometimes very sweet and lovely and other times glasses take a beating as does my head.

Brownie ? Do hope that T will be better asap and that you?re all okay too.

GG ? Even though I don?t do Christmas now I still get the ?christmassy? feeling that I felt as a child. Minus the Christmas tree and pressies I do love the usual pick of films, good food and general atmosphere?. My MIL still gets us selection boxes and buys me bath treats and we enjoy the holiday spirit. Shame that there?s so much emphasis on spending though Has it always been that way or am I just noticing it as I get older?

Right, bet that?s turned into another essay! Oh and went to Dr.s, tablets not helping heartburn at all...ahhhh!

Bonsoir all.

Beksmum · 15/12/2006 13:27

Hello all

Blimey it's quiet on here, where are you all, Christmas shopping?

Nova hope you guys are feeling better soon

Brownie poor Thomas hope he feel s better too soon.

Chahca hope the heartburn settles down soon for you.

Just a quickie from me other than that to say a big thank you to Thomas's secret santa, his present arrived this morning and is now sitting proudly under the tree, hope it's meant to rattle as much as it does otherwise it's broken into what sounds like a million pieces

Have a proud mummy moment to share today, Ben had his nativity play this morning but sadly as you couldn't take siblings so I had to miss it so I had to suffice with watching on the the video and he looked absolutely adorable in his kings costume. Can't believe he'll be leaving nursery next week, he looked so grown up against the other littleys today. Will definitely be shedding a few tears on Wednesday I think!

Hope everyone is having a good friday, will try to post over the weekend if I get a chance. Beks

GarfieldsGirl · 15/12/2006 14:02

This new layouts confusing me!

ChaCha, I really do agree with you about the 'spend, spend, spend' culture there seems to be. A friend has 4 children aged 7yrs - 7mths, and has spent over £200 on the older 3 and about £150 on the baby. . If think if you can afford it, that's fine, but they live in a shabby, rented HA place, so they don't have tons to throw around. There's been quite a few threads on here about people struggling because of the pressure to have the latest games etc.

Beks, I remember you laughing at your friends in the summer when Ben's friends were leaving nursery! Have a good weekend.

Hello to everybody else, I hope all the poorly ones are on the mend.

Beksmum · 15/12/2006 17:20

GG I need a stick your tongue out emoticon for you

Just to make you all laugh it looks like Texas Chainsaw Massacre in my house as I have been sorting out the food for tonight and left Tom unattended for a few minutes, in which time he raided the cupboard which as the cake decorating things in and got hold of a bottle of red food colouring and has managed to get the lid loose, he's hands are covered and where I have tried to clean them off with a wet wipe everything he's touched afterwards is covered, so have just dunked them both in the bath and he now has very pick hands instead Beks

GarfieldsGirl · 15/12/2006 19:29

ROFLMAO

Busyalexsmummy · 15/12/2006 21:34

Hi ladies, have popped in a few times the last few months to lurk and wizz through the posts and see what your all up to.
I hope all the ladies that are pregnant are doing well and having smooth pregnancies!(if there is such a thing!)
I hope you all have a wonderful christmas with your LO's and I expect they'll get showered with pressies!
Nova-sounds like you had a great night out! Must say I was never a great fan a take that but I do like a few of their tracks.
Are all our LO's 1 now? did they all have fab birthdays? and have we got our first walker yet?

I feel sad that I never really get to post on here anymore, I really dont have time in the day to do so and I always seem to find it so hard to catch up on posts if leaving it for more than a few weeks!

Im currently very busy, My driving test is booked for the 8th january, Im at college wed, thurs, fridays and Im awaiting news from the universities Ive applied to.
Ive just found ut that Ive got an interview for Bsc midwifery at Bournemouth in January but am crossing my fingers so very tightly that I will get an interview at UWE(bristol) which is much more feasible for me!

Will pop in again sometime soon, all of you have a happy christmas and new year!

L xxx

GarfieldsGirl · 16/12/2006 13:18

Hi Busy, sounds like you're really on the go there. Best ofluck with the uni applications.

Just to let Santa know that Sean has his gift. It's tucked away upstairs for the ext week.

Also just had a text from my friend who m/c last year. She had a baby boy last night.

ChaCha · 16/12/2006 15:05

Secret Santa paid us a visit this morning too Speaking of which, just awaiting my delivery and our SS will be posted out asap.

Busy - Wondered where you had been. Best of luck with Uni & Driving Test. Hope the boys are well and that 1st B'day was lots of fun for your all. Hope to see you post again soon.

Beks - at red food colouring...did you get it all out in the end? Hope weekend is going well and you're not too knackered.

DS has yet another cold, his little friend had it in the week and as we were all squashed around a small table in busy coffee shop is not surprising he's picked it up. Anyhow, he's walking everywhere now and his new nickname is 'Frankenstein', any guesses why? LOL!
Will go and enjoy quiet time while he snores away x
