Hi all,

ChaCha, soooo sweet! What a lovely post. Sympathy to you and your aching hips, you get good days and bad days on that front in pg don't you?
Nova, good idea on the secret pressie front, posting on here when you receive a gift is great idea.

Right, am in middle of baking cakes for ds2 return, am almost sickeningly ecstatic in anticipation of full nest again cluck.ooops e awake

ChristmasBrownie · 08/12/2006 12:54

Hi All - yes Nova - v good idea about letting people know when pressies arrive.
I however have not even purchased mine yet, let alone posted it will hopefully get and post by next week.....

Chacha - ahh bless him what a proud Mummy you are, and rightly so! Not sure Thomas actually says any legible words yet - apart from perhaps "tata" (whilst waving) and "all gone" or something similar!
Thomas does walk everywhere he can though - so is getting some wear out of the latest pair of v expensive shoes!
Oh, and Nova - T is also having a few tantrums - lies down and kicks his legs if I don't let him get his own way!! Needless to say, Mummy triumphs

Right, must get back to work now!

IsawLandSmumkissingSantaClaus · 08/12/2006 20:28

Hi,
Londoner hope your baking went down well, and that your nest is all nice and full again!!

Seth wants to say thankyou to santa for his present.Tree is going up tomorrow so will go under it!

GarfieldsGirl · 08/12/2006 21:28

Hiya

ChaCha, share away. I think thats really sweet re you phoning grandparents to announce your proud mummy status.

Londoner, did ds2 have a good time? Back to normal now for you. Yes, I did get the tickets, it's not until May, but I'm still very excited. Sorry to say, there was no magic ingredient to make Sean stop bf at night. I just stopped the feeds after 5am, and very soon after that he stopped waking. He's still in bed with us, but I can handle that. At least I'm sleeping!

How are you & J now Rodeo? Stop peeking at presents . this is what I want! Anything pink, and you'll keep me happy!

Owen kept asking questions about dying tonight, and bless him, got so upset, was crying his eyes out about it.

SiLondonernight · 08/12/2006 21:59

Hi girls, just quickly to tell you yes, thank you!, ds2 back safe & sound, has been driven mad by whole family trying to hug him every 2 seconds , cakes a big success thank you yes especially with me! Have great weekends all, speak soon!x

novadandypowder · 10/12/2006 19:55

ooooo GG that pink laptop is FAB! I'm also a sucker for anything pink, I only have my phone because of that . I'm after one of the Cath Kidston phones at the mo - DH looked at the ad and said 'OMG, who'd want that?' and I had to confess I did. They pray on ladies like us!

Not sure whats going on with noo, she's had horrid runny waist to thigh nappies since the beginning of last week, and her face is quite red. We thought it was teething, but it seems to be going on for a long time so we're off to the docs tomorrow. She seems well in herself though, has been wearing me out by charging up and down the house with her little dog on wheels though. Godd job the downstairs is open plan.

Hope a good weekend was had by all, especially Diege and Beks.

Diege · 10/12/2006 21:13

Hi everyone . Back from weekend away, and feeling very relaxed and tired after 2 good 8 hour sleeps . Good to see dds and dh, but boy was it good to bank that sleep, oh and have a really good shop too .
Love the laptop GG, just my taste too . We've had the death and dying questions too from dds, and agree it's really hard to answer, especially when you've lost someone close to you .
Glad ds is back safe and sound LONDONER ; is this the start of many trips away for him do you think?
Well, it's surprising how tired all that sleep/facial/massage/pedicure/shopping/pizza has made me, so off to watch that conspiracy thing on Diana, then bed .
Oh and am GUTTED that Ben has gone out of x-factor .

Rodeohoho · 11/12/2006 10:37

Morning!
Glad you had a lovely weekend Diege! Sounds blissful! We on the other hand had a pre-Christmas clear out, which took all day yesterday! We've given unwanted toys to a fund who are raising money for people affected by last year's earthquake in Kashmir I think, nice to do something for charity before all the self-indulgence of Christmas - not that we go mad but you know what I mean...
Hope all goes well at the docs Nova, hope it is just teeth, how many has she got now? Jess has only just cut her 1st top one this weekend, but I think she's quite behind in the tooth stakes!

novadandypowder · 11/12/2006 11:48

She still only has 5 Rodeo, it's been ages since one came through. I think the 6th is waiting in the wings, it's just got a bit of stage fright at the mo.

Diege, that sounds like heaven. I long to go away for the weekend without DH or noo (or bump).

There'll be no stopping your DS now Londoner, you'd better start double locking that front door!

Beksmum · 11/12/2006 14:51

Hi girls we're back!!!

Diege your weekend sounds fab, how lovely, and 16 hours sleep in one week you greedy thing you

Rodeo, nice one on the pre-christmas clear out, bet the kids can't wait now can they.

Nova hope Nat is feeling better today and that the doctor was able to send your mind at ease.

Londoner glad ds2 had a great time away, well done you for coping all week bet you'll wish he was away more often before you know it!

GG lol at that laptop you did not strike me as a pink girl in the slightest

Chacha how lovely was your post Z is a very clever boy

Well weekend was a comedy of errors from start to finish and the post would be far too long so a quick recap would be Thurs: torrential rain, delayed ferry, swap to train, Fri: really really torrential rain, 100mph winds, closed parks, great wild west show, Sat: great character breakfast, good weather, the world his wife and all their kids at the parks, horrendous Q's, nice parades!, Sun: tried shopping brits abroad gone mad, bough nothing after Ben had drove me nuts in the shop, no xmas booze, dh cigarettes or chocolates, back on train no lunch In between I think Ben had a good time I spent most of the weekend bitching at dh so if I say I'm going away again just shoot me.

Right got to pick Ben up from pre-school catch up later Beks

ChaCha · 11/12/2006 15:03

Hi everyone,

Hope you've all had good weekends. Londoner, family reunion sounds great as does the baking - you'll have to give me some tips, a simple Nigella peanut butter square recipe (no cooking involved unless you count melting the chocolate) was even a disaster! Do you remember our November Yummy Treats Thread [giggle] - oh those were the days on maternity leave and PG with 1st child...
Diege - Your break aways sounds perfect, you deserve it - i am in awe!

Pink laptop is lovely. I realised the other day that all of my maternity PJ's/nighties with the exception of one pair are pink, I found that strange. Wonder why i chose pink everytime, even this year.

Nova - Hope all is okay with Noo. Zed only has two teeth on bottom but four on top, how many are they supposed to have by a year? I haven't a clue.

Tomorrow is injections day. Thank you L&SMum, got the reminder through last week. How were all your LO's with these? Have written the day off just in case he needs extra TLC.

Finally, am suffereing from severe heartburn, never had it this bad first time round. Feel like massive elephant (and not a pink one) is sitting on my chest and i can't breathe. Any remedies/cures...i am really in agony all day and night, unable to even lie down with DS

Right, will stop moaning and get on. Nesting instinct kicked in today x

ChaCha · 11/12/2006 15:13

X-post Beks, wondered how your weekend went, it still sounds good even though i had to LOL at your commentary, just typical!!
One for the photo album anyway, and the boys have a great mum taking them away like that...well done!!

ChristmasBrownie · 11/12/2006 18:20

Hi All!
Diege - lucky you, weekedn away sounds fab - just the ticket! you deserve it!
Rodeo - how is Jess now? is her mole ok?
Nova - poor Noo - hope she is ok, let us know how you got on. Heard about "Toddler Diarreoha" (sp!?) today - never heard of it before, but apparently can be quite common between the ages of 1&3!!! happy days!

Chacha - I swear by Peppermint tea for any heartburn, or trapped wind style scenarios - still partial to it now!!
As far as latest set of jabs went - Thomas didn't even flinch! he was absolutely fine with them (but his grandad gave him a small handful of chocalte buttons anyway!!)

Think Thomas has got a touch of either sticky eye or conjuntivitis - he is oozing a bit of green-style goo from one eye, and the other could go the same way at any point . He is not miserable about it, just looks odd (poor lamb!). Anyway, booked him a docs appt tomorrow - my mum will take him - she said if it is v. bad she will take him in the morning (appt not till afternoon - lateish)

Anyway, he has just gone up to bed, so will sign off and put my feet up!

B xx

SiLondonernight · 11/12/2006 18:38

Noooooooo girls, once was more than enough, he's never allowed to go out again!.....

Well Diege, most stunned at your amazing sounding get away, good for you! It's so refreshing to 'find' yourself again once in a while isn't it..... without skipping round barefoot hugging trees obv.

BEKs.......... OMG.... these are for you!

Nova, ugh about the nappies, it could be teeth couldn't it, or perhaps just a nondescript type virus, but sounds like you're both coping okay with it? How is she this evening?

GG, I'm a big fan of pink too, love it.
ChaCha, ditto!

Right, must do bath time bed time etc, remember when I had 3 littluns at once I used to call this part 'hell hour' .... can't think why. After 7pm I'm rubbish at anything requiring patience, so must rush!

SiLondonernight · 11/12/2006 18:41

x-posts Brownie, glad jab went well and hope sticky eye gets better soon.

Oh yes ChaCha, boo to heartburn, what bad luck. Had it with Elizabeth, found drinking water helped me just because it momentartily relieved the heat as it went down. Cammomile tea? And try sleeping/resting propped slightly?x

Beksmum · 11/12/2006 22:25

Evening all

Londoner thanks for the rosettes - they made me laugh.

Chacha boo to the heartburn, my suggestions are gripe water, cooled boiled ater or Rennies! Hope Z is ok tomorrow, Tom's got his jabs on 10th Jan - must write this down somewhere or I'm bound to forget!

Have just been to Bromley and finsihed my Xmas shopping and managed to get myself some boots to go with my wedding outfit, thank goodness. My closest friend is getting married on 6th January, and I am her best woman, she wanted to put me in a frock but I just couldn't do it, so have bought myself a lovely brown touser suit with just a little bit of bling and a fantastic matching hat, now have high heeled boots to finish it off!

Went to post my secret santa today and the queue in the post office was horrendous, will try again tomorrow.

Hope all are well, catch up tomorrow Beks

Diege · 12/12/2006 08:16

Morning . Am now firmly back in the land that is 3 under 6 ; woken at 2 on Sunday night with the dreaded 'chunks in the bed', and so it continued till time to get up .
A later start this morning after teaching the evening lot, so have a driving lesson booked for 9.30 - I wish I could learn to love them!
Sympathies on their heartburn front CHACHA ; gaviscon plus was my fave, though a glass of milk worked ok too.
Well, we have been talking about 'no.4' ; nothing imminent I should say, but thinking we don't want a massive gap, plus my eggs won't be at their freshest for too much longer , so we're thinking about 'trying' Springtime, bearing in mind it took us 5 months with dd3. Exciting all the same .
Hope T's eye is better BROWNIE - dd1 used to get really bad 'pink eye', but our dr. woould never prescribe anything (just advised colled boiled water with salt ) saying most attacks are bacterial and not viral. A PITA for nursery though!
LOL at 'hell hour'LONDONER!! Thought it was jnust us!! Starts at 4 and lasts till 7 over here! BEKS: wedding ourfit sounds fab, really nice. Thnaks for reminding me about the PO queues!! HI RODEO, NOVA, GG, and everyone else!
Right, time to get dd1 to school!

SiLondonernight · 12/12/2006 09:38

Hi girls,

Beks, your wedding gear sounds ace, hope you feel a million dollars in it! Actually hope you feel 2 million dollars! WOW on the already organised for xmas front, awesome stuff girlie.... am off to town to get rest of mine today - suppose I'd better follow my own advice and get that list done......

Diege! How exciting! Plans for cute no.4. Hope you get rid of sick bug soon poor you.... remember to air the house to get rid of all the lurking lurgies, know it's 'old fashioned' but it does the job.

Happy Tuesdays!

GarfieldsGirl · 12/12/2006 10:53

Hi everyone

A packet arrived for Sean today, unfortunately irt arrived less than 5mins before i got home. grrr! Typical! So I have to wait 48hrs until I can go and get it. It did confuse me for a minute, couldn't think what might be arriving for him.

Weekend sounds fab Diege, hope sicky bug goes quickly.

Beks, you definately deserve those rosettes after that weekend. I was thinking of EuroDisney next year, but maybe not. It was a nightmare when I went with college years ago. An experience I will never forget, and not for the right reasons.

Londoner, glad you've got ds2 back! Lock those doors, don't let him back out!

Nova, how did Noo go at the docs?

ChaCha, I sympathise with you over the heartburn, Sean did that to me until he turned round. I found the remedies worse tbh, so just drank lots of water to ease the burning a little and slept sitting up.

Sean has his podiatrist appointment today, I feel a bit of a fraud going tbh. I had to fill in a questionnaire, and the questions were really aimed at children who have severe impairment/pain, and he doesn't have any of this.

Owen's in the paper tomorrow & we're going to see his school play - a production of 'Baboushka', he's a tree!

Rodeohoho · 12/12/2006 12:04

Morning!
Ooh weekend sounds like it was a challenge Beks! Though I'm sure Ben had a marvellous time And stop with your 'I've completed my Xmas shopping' - my best friend sent me a text saying the same thing to which I replied with one 5 letter word beginning with B. I've not heard from her since - oops!
GG - Have a lovely time at Owen's play Have you managed not to sing the Kate Bush song every time you here 'Baboushka'?! Joe's first assembly is today too, not sure what it's about but I know he's a teddy and he doesn't speak Hope appt goes ok
Ooh Diege - How lovely and exciting! You're going to make me broody with new baby plans (although I can bearly cope with 3!)
Hope Z's injection is pain-free, Thomas' eye gets better, and Noo is much better (and Chacha's heartburn settles!). Jess seems back to normal now - the mole has healed much smaller after all that picking off by little fingers !

ChristmasBrownie · 12/12/2006 19:03

Hey all - ooh gosh Deige - no 4!!!??? you are most def a braver woman than me!! I am currently putting off number 2!?
Thomas did go to the docs today - bad case of conjunctivitis in both eyes have been given drops (1 bottle for each eye!) told to put them in every 3 hrs for the first 24-48 hours, then every 4 hours, then 5 then 6 hours apart!? as then it should clear up really quick! Hoping it clears enough for him to get to nursery on Thurs, as I am training, Dad is working, Mum has to go in for a meeting about her job and the awful situation she has ended up in - so if he can't go, think dh might have to take morning off.....oh well, can't be helped!

Beks - I haven't quite got round to sending Santas secret present off yet either, can't even blame the queues - just haven't got round to going!

Anyway, have got baby boy to bed - drops inserted and all, and big spoon of medised given - so hopefully a better night than last night (awake from 3am - me that is!!)

B
xx

Diege · 12/12/2006 21:48

Hello! . Aww poor Thomas BROWNIE, though you may be in luck with the drops. If it is bacterial, then should clear up v.quickly indeed, so fingers crossed , know what it's like with nursery etc. Oh and yes I am a mad woman ; 3 is hard work yes, but I think the biggest transition for me was from zero to one ; think we just like the idea of four so that things are nice and 'even', lol . If it happens will need LONDONER as my online 'mum of 4' advisor!!
Glad Jess is on the mend RODEO, lol at your xmas shopping text - think I am in the same boat as you - if one more person asks me if I'm 'ready' for Christmas...
Well dh out tonight, so it's just me and the ironing, then bed

IsawLandSmumkissingSantaClaus · 12/12/2006 22:00

Hi
Brownie good luck with the drops is he tolerating you putting them in?
Diege number 4!! wow have to admit i'm a bit DH is quite happy with 2 as I am but once Seth gets a bit older I just know i'll be yearning for that cuddly newborn again!

DH is away tonight at an army base in wiltshire! supposed to be building professional relations but , v cheap beer more like!
ChaCha how was Z after his jab? Seth was absolutely fine no problems, he was due his MMR and pneumococcal 3 days before xmas but i've put it off till jan, just in case!Hope the heartburn settles, its a nightmare i had it terribly with both mine, the joys of pregnancy!

Beksmum · 12/12/2006 22:13

Evening girls

Ahh poor Thomas, hope he feels better soon Brownie.

Diege so you're not ready for Christmas then - anyone would thing you've had the lurgy or something Wow plans for number 4 I'm impressed, and envious - just a thought why don't we swap a child each then you'd get a boy & I'd get a girl and you'd save yourself all that time and pain, plus swapping for a boy would mean one less wedding to pay for in the long run

Rodeo funnily enough thats what my best friend called me as well I love internet shopping I could do it all day long!!! Hope Joe enjoys his play, a teddy sounds really sweet, did you have to make the costume?

GG Not sure whether I should ask about your eurodisney experience or not. Will you let Sean open his pressie when you get it? Hope Owen enjoys his play tomorrow, did you have to make the costume too?

Have just had friends over to dinner and Ben and their little girl who is 6 have been playing with the aquadraw unsupervised, so they decided that they would get a couple of toy boxes full of water and paint the sheet with their socked feet as it was quicker - leaving one soaking wet carpet and two wet pairs of socks - little beggars!

Right off to unwind before bed, see you all tomorrow, hope everyone else is well Beks

ChaCha · 12/12/2006 22:42

Evening all,

Nice to catch up on everyone's news before
bath & bed.
Brownie - Sending hugs to T, glad he is all sorted now and hope that everything works out okay for Thursday. Hopefully it will clear up asap.
Diege - Number 4 - Awww...how sweet! How you all do it I will never know but after having a couple of really rough days and just thinking 'I won't be able to do this' I met a mum at the clinic today with her 17mth old and 3 mth old (same age gap as we'll have if full term) and she had lots of v.positive things to say rather than the usual negatives i hear You and Londoner do however, make it sound such fun, even when you've been deprived of sleep and have work etc..
Beks - Wedding outfit sounds great and LOL (sorry) at the kids game, he hee! Always keeping you busy.
GG & Rodeo - Look fwd to hearing more on assemblies/plays...definite proud mummy moments to be had there!
L&SMum - Thanks. He was great, no probs at all, straight into car smiling and home to play. Do hope i'm this lucky with number two!

Thanks for asking everyone, heartburn was a bit better last night after reluctantly getting my way through some natural yoghurt but is now back with a vengeance I would rather be vomiting round the clock than suffering with this, it's 'orrible!

Just watched 'Junebug', anyone see it? Can't believe i hardly have the concentration anymore to watch a film from start to finish. Will close here before next line starts with '..and when i was five....'

Love to you all x
