novadandypowder · 17/01/2007 19:22

It's noo's first night in her 'big girl' room. She slept in her bed for her afternoon nap - and so far seems to have gone down for her night sleep ok. We'll see how long it lasts, but I'm crossing my fingers.

Rodeo · 17/01/2007 20:45

Evening!
Had a nice morning with L&S, although Jess is the grubbiest child going, her dribble is atrocious, and she's a complete muck magnet! Was explaining to L&S that I wait until we're nearly out the door when I put a clean top on her - I'm sure she thinks I'm mad! Seth is very cute though - and spotlessly clean Thanks again L&S
Good luck to Noo in her new bedroom tonight, is she in her bed tonight too? Probably a good time to do the change - when Joe moved into his (age 2) he used to sob for his cot!
Londoner - Glad things have got much easier I bought washables for Joe and they worked well, so thought I'd save a packet using them for Jess, but all the washing was soooooo hard and I gave up within about 3 days! Hope you're not feeling down about the bfing - I felt a bit sentimental when I gave up, but so free! I have been riding BTW, doing it about 4 times a week, I can't believe I'm so lucky! The woman I ride with also asked if I want to do a few jumping lessons with her, with a local showjumper, gulp! I used to jump a few years ago but apart from a log we popped in the woods last week that's been it!
Beks at HV! He's always been bonny! I had the opposite problem with Joe - he was a midget (a HCA actually thought he had characteristics of dwarfism!) and only weighed 17lb at 12 months - 19lbs at 18mths! And I stay well away from HV, I honestly think most of them they cause more anxiety than any good!
Diege - Your making me excited with your talk of ttc, never mind you! Good luck for tonight (not ttc but cc!) BTW my pg friend is due at the end of Feb and I asked her about names and she told me her shortlist, and I asked what her surname was and it's Wood, so I told her 'my friend is Wood and she's got 3 girls called J, S & L' and she said 'Oh no! They're all lovely names - I'll have to put them on the shortlist now!' I'll let you know of her dicision
Hello Alfiesmum, glad your still popping on - it's lovely to hear your news, hope the strains of static caravan living are few
Well enough of my blatherings, must go and have (a rather late) tea Bye x

Hello!
Beks - what a nasty pasty lady making you feel bad (btw, love all of Londoner's images!!!! v good!)
Our T is 13months and weighs 10.94kg (approx 24lb 2oz) and apparently is progressing nicely. He has 4 fromt teeth, 2 top molars, 3 bottom teeth, and at least another 1 bottom (poss molar) on the way (broken through gum, but not surfaced yet). This appears to be creating a mega snot fest, and making his chesty cough a bit worse. He has also reverted to fretful sleep and earlier wakings in the morning - although compared to Diege, think we get off lightly with 6am!!?? He is walking / running all over the place, and is managing to keep his shoes on for longer! No real words as yet, although he still manages to get his point across!
Have to be honest, reverted to a shot of Nurofen for him this evening,as thought it might help (me? or him!? - not sure!!!) but he is fast asleep at the moment - so fingers crossed!

Great to hear from everyone - it is odd isn't it, that we all feel as though we have known each other for years (well I do at least - but then I am a bit strange so I'm told!!!!) yet, I have only met 2 of you in RL - how fabuloous that we can forge such strong friendships and bonds.....

Right, think am going to get off to bed and take advantage of a sleeping babe!
love to all..

novadandypowder · 18/01/2007 08:32

Well, I think I can call the first night in her bed a success . She woke at 5 (yawn) a bit over excited that she was in a new room and I must confess the two night lights I left on probably didn't help. I had put an air bed up next to hers in anticipation of this so I just went in and lay next to her bed to try and get her to go back to sleep. However, she just climbed onto the air bed with me and the next thing I knew it was 7 and I had a dead arm! She's started waking a bit early anyway since the weekend (seems like all the others are too ) and she managed to sleep through DH setting off the smoke alarm which is right outside her bedroom door (one of the down sides of an open plan house - and a DH who burns sausages). So feeling quite positive, although can't wait to get the room properly finished, as we're still waiting for some blinds to arrive, as well as this which I'm in love with.

Anyhoo - must go and get ready for hospital check up.

ChaCha · 18/01/2007 11:50

Hi girls, I'll enjoy catching up with all your news as soon as I can later today.

I've been in hospital since Monday, baby is perfectly fine but I've been diagnosed as having severe SPD and have been kept on a special ward as a result. I'm relieved to know what has been wrong and thanks to a great physio my pelvis has been realigned and she has helped with all the discomfort. Now on crutches and painkillers until my section which is booked for a few weeks time at 39+4 (eeeeek) and will be back and forth until then. Being on the ward was nice and much better than the private room i had last year although it meant minimal shut-eye i enjoyed the company of fellow mums to be, most of which were in with pre-eclampsia or awaiting induction. Scary business this pregnancy stuff!
Anyhow, am happy to be back home, it was good practise though of things to come and I'm feeling happier now especially with section booked and everything organised.
Will now hobble off for some breakfast.. p.s. anyone else gotten sick on the codeine? It just doesn't agree with me.

Much Love M x

Rodeo · 18/01/2007 12:07

Morning!
It's a horrid one out there - been up stables to muck out but I'm now home in jogging bottoms and intend to be for the afternoon
Chacha - Oh no, poor you I did notice you'd not posted since your jamboree post. So glad you're ok (of sorts) hope the crutches and painkillers work (Codeine made me really sick last year too). And you have a date for baby's birthday! You must tell! By my calculations does that make it the 19th Feb?!
Nova, glad to hear last night was a success Lovely wardrobe, it'll look lovely.
Off to make eggs on toast for our lunch so speak later x

OP posts:
GarfieldsGirl · 18/01/2007 19:42

ChaCha, no, poor you. At least you're home, and have a good physio. I'd never heard of SPD, until bob spoke about it once .

Nova, glad to hear Noos 1st night in her big girl room went well.

A yucky day out there, and a cold few days in here. Heatings packed in again (2nd time in less than 3 months, and we've only had it in since June ). So I'm not a happy bunny , and will be stamping my feet until they replace the boiler. Actually, stamping my feet may be a good idea, may keep me a little warmer!

novadandypowder · 18/01/2007 20:41

Chacha - do you feel like your body has taken a real beating with this pg? I sure do, I feel like I'm falling apart. It turns out my sickness and cramps may be due to a kidney infection which will be confirmed on monday, and along with that they've found out I'm aneamic. My hair is also falling out, the eczema on my face won't shift, and I'm being kicked about all the time. I think DH and I are looking forward to me not being pg anymore.

Send all those teens who want babies my way - I'll put them off!

BrownieBells · 18/01/2007 22:03

Hi all - just got back in from my yoga class (yes I signed up again, am now on the improvers course!! Am actually really enjoying it!) and am becoming more flexible by the minute!!

Nova / Chacha - omg, how awful, hope you are both feeling much better soon - the sooner these los make an appearance, I'm sure the happier you'll be! hey? Fingers crossed that the last stages go smoothly.

It is def. whipping up a blustery storm out there! am glad I'm indoors to be honest.

Anyhow, lots of love and wishes to all, am off to bed now to read a chapter of my book, The Godmother, which I started last night - looks quite good! and then for some serious shuteye! Am v. tired this week - all these early mornings T has hadme having!

Brownie!

Diege · 18/01/2007 22:10

Just a fragile 'hello' as just got in from work ; no trains, no buses, ended up spending £47 on a taxi, then having to get out 12 miles from home and walking it as driver turned psycho !!! Havn't read posts, so will catch up tommorrow!!!

BrownieBells · 19/01/2007 12:23

Diege - how blinkin awful - hope you are feeling recovered now - and I would consider reporting the driver if you can? Not sure what happened obviously, however if it made you get out - then it had to be bad...

Winds appear to have died down a bit here - not sure about elsewhere in the country tho?

Gosh there seems to be a lot of hype and media coverage about CBB?! Haven't actually watched any of it, so no idea what all the fuss is about tbh!?

Me and DH are going away next weekend (only a week to go!!) without Thomas!!!! gosh it feels like a long time since any of that horizontal jogging malarky took place iykwim always too tired! and I guess worried T might stir! Anyway, need to get back into practice, if we ever want to ttc no2!? Although am thinking perhpas a nice 3 yr age gap, min!!!

Right enough of my personal ramblings!!

Hope all others are well and so on!

Better go do some work!

GarfieldsGirl · 19/01/2007 13:14

Diege. Hope Libby let you have a decent sleep after that last night.

Brownie, lol at 'horizontal jogging'! Counting down the days until your weekend away?

We have a warm house again, hurrah!

Diege · 19/01/2007 13:34

Hi everyone Just a quickie from work, to update. Taxi scenario involved a 'road enraged' driver, who tried to overtake on the wrong side and got stuck on a grass verge! He was going nuts to put it mildly, screaming, swearing and ranting, and I made the decision (along with a fellow passenger who I was sharing the taxi with) to get out and walk. We hadn't realised quite how far the journey on foot was, but had no choice really with no buses/trains/taxis running . I did make a mental note of his number, so will be contacting the council as it was a Black Cab .
On a better note, CC seems to be working with L, who started her performance at 5.30 today, so gradually getting a bit later. Heard a wail at 3, but this stopped straight away! . Great to hear your news BROWNIE... good luck on the 'jogging malarky' front, lol ...Phew, I'd settle for a nice cup of tea and a custard cream at the moment! . Hi to everyone else, and post later tonight!

Hi everyone,
Rodeo - I don't think you're mad not getting
J dressed till you go out!! Shes lovely, hope DPs weekend goes ok, never got to ask why the beard? Have they all grown one specially?

Diege - Taxi driver sounds like a total mentalist, make sure you do report him, hope L is settling down now.

GG - your heating sounds like ours bloody tempremental, we had a huge fight with the manufacturers of ours, i wanted it replacing but they would only offer an extra years warranty

Will try and post later as got patients waiting!!

Hi to everyone else xxx

Rodeo · 19/01/2007 14:56

Afternoon!
Have had a beautiful morning here after yesterday, took the horses out in the horsebox for a ride round a reservoir and it was great
Oh Diege - what a nutter, thank goodness it's the weekend! Reminded me of a black cab I was in once where the driver nodded off going over a junction!
Brownie - bet you can't wait, eh? Or more to the point bet he can't wait! You'll have a fab time
L&S - Glad you don't think I've lost it completely! The beard was grown partly for this weekend and partly just to see what it would look like! I really don't notice it though, must be all those years of living with my bearded father!
GG - Glad you're all warm again!
Anyway will probably be back later with dp being away, I'm bored already! x

ChaCha · 19/01/2007 15:10

Helloooos,

Nova - Gosh, we're practically in the same boat aren't we? I feel the same - roll on due dates i say and let's try not to feel too broody during 2007 either eh? My body needs some serious rest and looking after! Let us know how things turn out for you - hopefully it's not too bad, fingers are crossed for you.

Beks - Just managed to catch up and read your news. T sounds just fine to me, I don't understand the fuss, are you able to consult another H/V or GP perhaps? Bit OTT if you ask me. I don't know Zed's weight at the moment but he wears anything from 9-12 to 12-18 months, depends on brand/type etc. He has 3 bottom teeth and four on top, he eats 3 meals a day and plenty of snacks, usually celery/carrot/breadsticks, cheese, yoghurt with banana & honey, raisins, petit filous pots etc.. He is always eating!!!
HTH

Diege - Nightmare ride home but is good that you clocked the number. Very dangerous driver.

GG - Hurray! You have heat!
I didn't know much about SPD either, guess i do now though. I've been out on my crutches today - feels funny but definitely helped.

BB - Weekend away sounds blissful, hope you have a lovely time and don't miss T too much. I'd love to do the same but in all honesty, a couple of codeine tabs and rest in bed (minus DH & DS and everything else) with TV and headphones was just what i needed for an afternoon up the hospital, sad i know, but it was luvvvvely!!

Rodeo - Thanks, i didn't realise it at first as they were just so great but the tablets did make me ill - shame cause they really did help my pain amongst other things.

Just wanted to add that DS has woken for a third night at 3am howling! He gets picked up for a cuddle, changes sleeping position has a bit of a moan and cry and then goes back to sleep. Is it teething girls? It wakes me with an awful fright.

Will go now, thanks x

novadandypowder · 19/01/2007 15:50

Chacha - Noo wakes up a couple of times a night crying. We don't go into her unless it goes on for more than 5/10 mins as she usually goes back to sleep. Maybe it's best if you don't go into him or he might get used to having a cuddle back to sleep in the middle of the night? It always wakes me, but hey ho, going to have a lot more of that coming up. I was given codeine too to help with the stomach cramps, but I took one and it made me feel ill too. Will stick to good old grinning and bearing it I think.

Rodeo - do you take the children up to the stables and do they share your love of riding/horses?

Brownie -

Rodeo · 19/01/2007 22:32

I'm so bored!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hate it when dp's away, not that we do much together, but I never know what to do with myself! Have finished a whole big bag of Lime doritos and a few bottles of Carlsberg Export, watched a scary thing on volcanoes in Iceland and their toxic gases which could technically envelop Britain and poison us all like it did in July 1783, have been fevently texting my sis who is on her way to the lakes, and been on the phone to my mum listening to her deliberate over different new builds round Derby that she and her partner are thinking of moving to and the size of their en-suites/cupboards-under-the-stairs and her up-coming bunion op. I've lost the will to live and can't get into Ugly Betty.
Nova - yes all the kids love animals and they're fine around horses. I don't take them up usually as the horses are mostly big buggers and I don't want them to get squashed while I'm busy! Although Bella did have a plod round the menage on my friend's horse Monty who's a bit of a dobbin
Jess also wakes a few times a night Chacha, but I'm rubbish and keep a milk next to her cot which I hand to her, which is terribly habit-forming I know but I just hate those night-time wakes when they're this age. It doesn't seem so bad when they are newborn as you don't sleep as deeply and always seem to expect to be woken even when you're asleep. Am I making any sense?!
Right, going to watch the eviction - haven't really been watching but think things have been blown out of proportion with shameless politicians jumping on the bandwagon. Jade is awful but think it's just ignorance bitchiness and stupidity rather than racism.
Anyway... Bye for now! x

HI everyone!! RODEO, sounds like you had a good night . Pretty lucid to me! Know what you mean about Jade - think the other two 'henchmen' in there are just as bad, if not worse, with their sniggering and nudging (one paper called then SS4 (including non-person 'Jack' .
Ok day, if uneventfull. Rubbish weather, loads of housework to catch up on. Dullsville city... . Hope you all are having good ones!

BrownieBells · 21/01/2007 11:21

Hey!
Rodeo - echo Diege, you sounded quite lucid to me too! Where has DP gone, or did I miss that?!
Weather here looks quite bright - no snow, not that I'm complaining. DH & DS have gone for a bike ride, leaving me in peace!! DH bought one of those trailer things for the back of his bike to take T out in, similar to a spokey-joe style thing...anyway - gives me half an hour quiet time, which is what I need! (specially after a 5.30am wake up this morning...)

Right, off to finsih my sausage buttie, & my cup of tea before they get back and wreck havoc everywhere!!

Hope all are having a fab weekend.....

novadandypowder · 22/01/2007 10:40

Well, how's this for nesting ladies..

Having carpets cleaned today, and getting ready to do big clean of the nursery.

Babygrows are ready and waiting to come out of storage once the cleaning has been done.

Bought some new bottles, new baby nappies, and maternity pads.

Have a strong urge to scrub the oven (seem to remember the same thing a few weeks before noo was born).

It's quite good feeling a bit more prepared than we were with noo

We got noo a mini trampoline/bouncer thing from ELC at the weekend and she can't stay off it, it's soooo sweet.

Question - How many hours sleep is your lo getting in 24hours, and how is it split up?

Another - Is your lo feeding themselves yet?

And another - Does your lo love putting things around their necks? Noo has started to drap things around the front of her neck, which started off being quite funny when it was a piece of kitchen roll or a cloth, but I found her doing it with an ipod connection wire of DH's she'd found and realised how dangerous her fascination was
