Hi girls,

Oh Nova, what lovely scan pics - brings it all back doesn't it? Thanks for sharing those, i think they're great and I cannot believe how grown up Noo looks!! Lovely looking little girl Whether or not DS understands that there's a real live baby in my tummy I don't know but he does lay his head on my bump and rub/kiss it which is really sweet - I had friend's DD's baby Annabel in my lap and I was fussing over it in front of DS and he came over and cuddled it and stroked it's head etc and was really lovely, however, asked DH to do the same to see what he would do and he totally ignored him!!! DH would call him saying 'come and see the baby, come and see daddy' and he would pretend he couldn't see or hear him!! Quite amazed at the different reaction to us both.

I try DS with a cup at meal times, he makes a real mess and doesn't drink much so i prefer to stick with bottles for now, like Nova said, at least i know he's getting the needed fluid. He has about 3-4 bottles a day and i'm still on the Organic Goat's milk formula, I must get him onto the normal milk asap - i spoke about this ages ago.

Londoner - Happy B'day DS tomorrow! I remember that age well, hope he has a great time and i think it's great that your having all his friends over - he's really lucky. Happy B'day from us. Also hope DD is on the mend, i called the DR this morning and he said i could go to the emergency clinic if i really wanted to but he said it sounded like a cold and that they do last this long.

The gearbox has gone on our newly purchased (but used) people carrier so we have MIL's frontera, any suggestions on where we can get hold of an automatic gear box for one of those PC's? DH has tried a few places but not much like, we may have to sell it for parts now and make do with something else.

Oh and last but not least, keep your eyes open for a Jane Power Twin please, i've seen a few but haven't had much luck - if your scanning local paper/internet whatever and you see one, pls let me know. Cheers girls. Bath time xx

Diege · 07/01/2007 10:14

Morning! Having a bit of a nightmare at work at the moment (too boring to go into)so have been a bit self-absorbed over the last few days! Loved the pictures NOVA - wow, Noo looks like a proper little girl, and scan piccies are amazing! My hunch is a boy . CHACHA - loved reading your news, you sound v.happy despite the aches and pains! Oh and before I forget there is a powertwin form sale on the mumsnet classifieds 'for sale', by a poster called Angelstar .
Speak later

ChaCha · 07/01/2007 18:34

Hi Diege - Hope that whatever it is it passes and that you are okay - coping with the stresses of work and family cannot be easy - take it easy on yourself! [hug]

Thanks, had a look at the For Sale but couldn't find it maybe it's gone?!

Agree with you on the boy hunch...hmmmmm!

Diege · 07/01/2007 19:28

Hi CHACHA! Thanks for your good wishes . Have just checked 'Classifieds' and the ad you want is headed 'pushchairs and slings' (or similar!) and is pretty far down the list, so perservere! She lists it as a possible 'for sale', at the end of her message
Loads of marking to do tonight - serves me right for being ill over Xmas!
Diege

tessasmum · 07/01/2007 21:02

Right, I'm back, I hope

Belated HAPPY NEW YEAR to everyone

Thank you to whoever it was who posted about how to get more than one word bold - it works beautifully!

Also a BIG thank you to Ash's Secret Santa, brilliant present that the children have to fight the grown-ups to get hold of. Think Ash actually thinks it belongs to Daddy

I think I've more or less caught up but forgive me if I miss anything out.

BEKS - glad Ben's first day went well, hope the 2nd was OK too. I assume the wedding was good as you are very quiet today!
I can join you in the shame of the Fruit Shoot bottles Much easier to transport about than leaky cups and when they get yucky I can bin them - too many scary incidences of hidden gunk in Tessa's cups when little. I also think he wants to be like Tessa tho he won't drink juice regardless of how diluted it is, a water or milk boy through and through!

Rodeo - Ash still has a bottle before naps and at night (and one bf first thing but I don't think there's much left in there now!!) With Tessa we waited until she was old enough and asked her if she wanted a cup at bedtime so probably over 2.

Nova - lovely pictures, both of Noo and the new baby. Are you able to catch up on sleep when Noo is at nursery, I hope so?

ChaCha - I have a personal countdown to your baby's arrival as you are due on Tessa's birthday, an event that she is VERY much looking forward too! At some point during each day we get the 'how many days till my birthday now Mummy?' question. She was quite impressed that a new baby might be born on her birthday!
Sorry to hear of all the poorly people, we are snuffly and snotty but surviving.

GG - what did you go far in the end?

Make-up - sorry, don't understand the question!

Perfume - used to love Opium on a night out but think I use CK One now. That probably dates me as I think the bottle is at least 5 years old.

TV - not watching anything already mentioned so am completely clueless and likely to remain so. I do have a friend who is BB mad (though may just be mad!!) We had to block her emails last time round as she would send several epistles a day and I really didn't know or care what was going on. Compered to her the chat on here is more than bearable

Hello to everyone I've missed.

Rodeohoho · 07/01/2007 21:39

Evening!
Did a long post earlier, I was sat on the floor when Jess came and attacked and I subsequently lost my post. Pesky kid. So....
Nova, what a beautiful 'boy' you have there - I'm with Diege & Chacha - although if it is a girl she will be beautiful too - just like her sister - who has really grown up! Where has her baby chubbiness gone?! She's a very pretty girl And before you commit yourself to the inferior Prison Break (only joking Brownie/GG!) 24 starts soon! Oooh Jack Bauer!
Diege, hope rubbish work probs aren't too serious. Had something pressing to tell you in my last post, but alas, I've forgotten (probably something telly related!)
Chacha, oh no, not rubbish car probs! You should get Z a little baby of his own, Jess has 2 and she loves putting dummies in and out and patting their little bald heads!
Londoner, hope ds had a lovely birthday - and not too tired from yesterday's sleepover! How's Betty today? Thanks for link BTW
GG - have just seen the picture of Sean opening his Christmas present (which Bella tells me is a Thomas present!) Love it, it's so cute
I've had a nice weekend, took a beautiful 17h steel grey 5 year old this morning for a change and he was brilliant
I'm sure I've forgotten some of the stuff I wrote earlier but never mind. Not heard from Tessasmum for ages, hope you are well Going internet handbag shopping now - was hoping I got a new one for Christmas but didn't and asos.com have a sale on (lots of going out clutches for about £4!)
Speak tomorrow x

Rodeohoho · 07/01/2007 21:44

I must be psychic (and really slow at typing) there you are TM! Hope you had a lovely Christmas & New Year, LOL at your friend sending you BB updates Yes, we're not that bad! Although might start sending Chacha daily updates, get her more involved in the CBB experience, what do you think?!

novadandypowder · 08/01/2007 10:39

ooo Rodeo, I was hoping for a new handbag and wallet for crimbo, but DH decided to get me a plot of farmland, and 6 months of watering farmland from Oxfam unwrapped instead. A much more sensible gift, and one that gives me an excuse to hit the sales instead . He did counter that with a subscription to Heat and OK though . Thank heavens for Sky+ as I will indeed be into 24 as well! Not liking CBB so far - the curse of Jade indeed.

Thank you for the photo compliments, she has indeed slimmed down an awful lot, but has been eating like a horse for the past few days, so it may come back yet!

Londoner · 08/01/2007 15:50

Hello all,

Hi TM great to read your post and hear all.

Rodeo lol at 'pesky kids' and sending ChaCHa BB updates, you're so funny.

Diege, hang in there hon, hope you're okay.

Bets is better, phew, but teething sooooo much with 4 molars and a pointy (dog?) tooth coming all at once . She was breakdancing over me and dh most of the night but was I too deliriously tired to do owt! Once dh administered Calpol she slept soundly rest of night, hooray![yawn]
Nova, lol at you hitting the sales and lucky thing on the mag subscription pressies.

All quiet on the western front this morning though, hooray. Right, spoke too soon. byeeeeeeeeeee

Londoner · 08/01/2007 17:47

ChaCha meant to add - you and me both then as I know nothing about BB!

Beksmum · 08/01/2007 21:43

Hi ladies

Nova what absolutely gorgeous photos, Noo is just beautiful, those eyes are going to melt many a boys heart in a few years time and Bean is just lovely, I think I'm withthe girls on thisone being a boy but funnily enough I think you might know different.

TM good to see you back, how was your break away with the family? Did you have a good New year?

Diege hope the work hassles sort themselves out soon, remember lifes too short to be in a job that makes you unhappy, they don't pay you enough to let it affect you at home

Londoner glad to here E's feeling so much better, belated happy b'day to your ds by the way - how was the sleepover or was sleep out of the question?

Chacha I'm with you there's no CBB or normal BB watching done in this house

Won't bore you for long on this suffice to say I've had a fantastic weekend. The wedding was just wonderful, my friend looked fabulous, Ben looked gorgeous, the kids did me proud, and my bestfriend said some really lovely things about me in her speech which made me cry. I've added some photo's on yahoo if anyone wants to see us in our sunday best I'm still absolutely knackered but every ounce of stress and worry was worth it to see my friend looking so wonderfully happy.

Hope to post more regularly now as dh has gone back to work today and my parents are going home tomorrow and of course Ben is at school for mornings this week and then full days next week. He's still in tears when he goes in but I'm sure he'll get used toit soon enough.

Right best go before this becomes a novel. Love to all Beks

ChaCha · 08/01/2007 21:48

Tessasmum - Great to see a post from you My EDD according to dating scan is Feb 22nd as opposed to Feb 9th originally given by LMP calculation at GP. Which is T's b'day? Keep posting btw, always good to hear from you.

Rodeo - LOL at BB updates!! Feel free though ...would still remain clueless I'm afraid!

Nova - What a lovely present from your DH - I like that!

GG - Not sure how i missed it first time round but I've just seen a gorgeous pic on our group of your LO on his trike - really lovely picture, what a cutie!!!

Beks has posted some pics of wedding, T has grown and is a real charmer by the looks of things and Ben looks all grown up - what lovely kiddies we have girls!

Diege - Hope work situation is improving and thanks for lookout on Power Twin - i was too slow and it sold on ebay but i'm currently bidding on one now so here's hoping.

Today has been a big pants day and if i don't feel any better will be off for a check to hospital tomorrow. Won't bore with all the PG ailments but i feel awful just plodding on till mum gets here tomorrow really. Fingers crossed for me, probably just something and nothing x

ChaCha · 08/01/2007 21:50

X posts Beks - good to see you and wedding sounds fab, pics are great!

Catch up tomorrow, got that going to puke and pass out feeling x

twinkle1 · 09/01/2007 10:32

Morning all,
Diege do you fancy meeting up at the outlet mall?????
twinkle

tessasmum · 09/01/2007 10:57

ChaCha - Tessa's birthday is 22nd so we are going for the same date! Sorry you are feeling rough, hope your Mum looks after you when she gets here. Think it was about this time with Tessa that I stopped work as my BP went a bit iffy, no chance of stopping work 2nd time round though!

Thanks for asking people. We had a great Christmas with my parents in N Ireland tho 8 days was possibly a bit too long - my stepfather can do a very good line in silent disapproval! Bit of a scare with the fog which meant that my sister nearly didn't make it but we were a full house on Christmas day thankfully.
New Year was very quiet - went swimming during the day and were in bed by 11pm. All sleep is precious as Ash is still a bit erratic with his definition of 'sleeping through'

Tessa is now back at pre-school for 4 mornings a week (it was 3 last term and will be 5 after Easter) and if the weather keeps behaving I will be one fit Mummy by Easter as its a 15 minute walk and I have to do it 4 times a day. At least 2 of the journeys are usually done at great pace as I haven't quite perfected the art of leaving the house on time inspite of 12 months practice

Better do something resembling housework whilst Ash is asleep and before we have to dash across the park again!
Talk soon.

Rodeohoho · 09/01/2007 20:01

Evening!
Oh Beks - the photo's are really really lovely! You look fab! Glad it went well
Chacha, sorry you're feeling pants Not long now - you hang in there girl! And I'm really sorry but there will be no CBB updates after all, I'm not into it (yet!) either!
TM - Glad you had a nice Christmas at home, but hmph at silent step-dad! LOL at nursery dashes - I was exactly the same when Bella was at nursery, I lost loads of weight due to lateness (so there is a bright side to it!)
Londoner, glad E is much better - it's so nice to have them back to their happy little selves and not snivelly whingey limpets
Diege, hope work isn't getting you too down and stressed and that things are getting sorted. Not really connected, but your work probs reminded me that I watched that 'Can Gerry Whatshisname save the NHS' last night which was so frustrating, but was great telly! It's on again tonight, yay
Bye for now! x

novadandypowder · 09/01/2007 20:10

Chacha - I have no first hand experience of \link{http://www.kiddicare.com/invt/saft1sttandbbystr?N=387/this buggy} but it looks very similar to the Jane PowerTwin. See what you think?

BEKS - fab photos, Ben looks soooo grown up, and your outfit is gorgeous. Oh, and I really don't know what we're having, I've begged and pleaded with DH but I'm not allowed to find out.

TM - lovely to see you back posting .

novadandypowder · 09/01/2007 20:12

I'll try that again

this buggy

That'll teach me not to preview

ChaCha · 09/01/2007 23:21

Thanks Nova
I managed to get my hands on a Jane Power Twin, i'm quite pleased, it's in excellent condition (and comes with the Rebel Car Seat that i was finding difficulty getting at a reasonable price), not the azulon that i initially wanted but the titanium and it was a second chance offer so a nice surprise. Pick it up locally at the weekend, hurray - one more thing out the way! Cannot yet imagine being out alone with toddler and newborn - daunting! Eeeeek!

Anyhow, hope everyone's okay, as usual cannot sleep and DH and DS are snoring away, lucky them ... hope you're not all tucked up in bed under soft duvets resting your heads on fluffy pillows and dreaming nice things...hope you're all suffering too....LOL Really must get a life now, talk tomorrow x

ChaCha · 10/01/2007 08:54

Rodeo - You had an elective section last time didn't you? Hope you don't mind me asking but i was up late reading and have now been thinking i might just want to book an elective and be done - how did you find yours? Anyone else?

They don't let you go full term do they either? Ohhhh...i must get some sleep - queen of worries these days.

Beksmum · 10/01/2007 12:01

Hi girls

Thanks for the compliments, my suit was a pure fluke as I bought it off an american website that had a no returns policy so if it hadn't fitted I was in big trouble

Chacha, hope you managed to get some sleep in the end, don't worry too much, things will work out just fine. It will be hard work at first but you'll find that the newbie just fits in with everything else at first and you'll just be very glad that he/she sleeps alot.

Nova lol at you begging and pleading, not long to wait now and just think of it as your reward for all that hard work. There's nothing like asking the what is it question.

Chahca and Nova are making me feel quite broody now they are nearly due, but I did get some fab news at the wedding - I am going to be a Godmother as one of my oldest friends is expecting her 3rd in September, which is just fantastic, she has two boys at the moment, so who knows what she'll have this time. Unfortunately the one that I announced a while ago wasn't to be, but I'm sure that friend will be telling me more good news very soon, which means I can have baies vicariously and have the benefit of cuddles without the loss of sleep

On that note I'm off to check my other thread on sleep, we're having a really bad time with Ben at the moment and I've asked for advice on the sleep threads - speak to you all later Beks

novadandypowder · 10/01/2007 12:11

lol at broody BEKS . I spent some time holding my friends 9wk old yesterday and I'm amazed at how I've already forgotten how to handle them . She felt so light and fragile, and I'd forgotten how wobbly their heads are, I'm so used to the rough and tumble with noo. Noo didn't seem fussed at all at me giving my attention to the baby and wondered off around my friends house.

twinkle1 · 10/01/2007 17:44

cha cha,
I have had 1 emergency section and two planned sections. The planned sections i had no problem with, in and out in two days, you do feel a bit sore but nothing i needed more than paracetmol for.Hope this helps
twinkle

Diege · 10/01/2007 19:41

Hi girls! . Sorry I've been a bit of a stranger; things seem to be sorting themselves out a bit at work, though more of a 'postponement' than a solution to an ongoing problem (for everyone, not just me - to do with evening work/time for research etc). Glad to see you're sorted with a pram CHACHA - feeling v.excited on your behalf! You will be FINE with 2 under two . As you know, there's only 16 months between dds 1&2, and tbh, the thought of it was far worse than the reality! DD2 really did just seem to 'fit in', though I tried to stack the odds in my favour by bottle feeding dd2 and sticking to a strict routine with dd2 after being 'Mirium Stoppard' with my first! .
Love the outfit BEKS , super piccies!
TWINKLE - I'm busy next weds, but how about the one after? (24th?) or the one after that?
Hi RODEO (don't worry, I can supply the CBB updates - oh and are you an 'Ugly Betty' fan?),HI to LONDONER, NOVA, GG, TM, and everyone else!!

GarfieldsGirl · 10/01/2007 20:19

Hi everyone, I have been reading since my last post, but can't remember what's going on, sorry

Love the baby pics Nova, and brill photos of the family Beks.

Are any of you Project Catwalk fans? Or am I on my own there?

I did get the cowgirl outfit for Sat, and we had a good night (and I slept 'til 2pm on Sun, he he!)

Set your Sky+'s (or videos) for Kylie, Sat night, Channel 4, 22:10. I'm not sure if it's Wembley, or if it will be the Australian one with Bono doing Kids.

Take care everyone, speak soon, GG xx
