I'm seriously giving this child away!
I hope it's her teeth either that or she's lost all love for sleeping at night, preferring to scream for us every 5 mins.
Yes that's right.

Seriously fed up!

DulcetMoans · 22/07/2015 10:15

Oh min, not good! Is that all day as well as night?

I guess I am slowly getting there popz, I can do the stairs a bit better now and picked the baby up last night which I couldn't do. DH had to help me wash which wasn't a particular hight of the day. I get teary thinking about it all - like yesterday I suddenly thought 'what happened to placenta?' So DH had to explain and made me sad. But I guess every day gets better...!

I will consider a dummy in a few weeks wil, same as bottles, some of it is comfort I think. Knowing what to do for the best is really hard! Shouldn't co-sleep but if he is feeding just to be near us is it that bad to let him fall asleep on me after a feed? I just don't know anymore!

RPopz · 22/07/2015 10:29

Be kind to yourself Dulcet. It's such a vulnerable time. I wasn't prepared for the total mental and physical incapacity post partum! I kept dissolving into tears about some random detail from the birth for weeks afterwards... But it's probably the biggest experience of your life so far, it takes a while to process.

Am a firm believer in Just Do What Works For Now. Don't worry about "getting into bad habits" and all that guff. Cosleeping was the only way I got any sleep for weeks - just do it if it helps Smile

WilHarlot · 22/07/2015 11:38

Totally agree with Popz. Only 'bad' things are dangerous things. We spent the first few weeks with micro sleeping on my chest.

I have been trying to get her down for a nap for a frigging hour!!! Why the fuck is it so difficult? Envy Envy Envy Envy Envy Envy Envy Envy Envy Envy

WilHarlot · 22/07/2015 11:44

Oh and now she has decided she won't bother with a nap after all. RAGE.

Pisghetti · 22/07/2015 11:47

We co-slept for the first few weeks too - there's some safety guidelines you can look up. Only way we could all get some sleep!

Pisghetti · 22/07/2015 11:50

Sympathies Wil - this one has become a master of the catnaps. Unless she's lying on me. Either way I'm not being very productive!

Hope you're doing okay too Min

WilHarlot · 22/07/2015 12:14

Sigh I have so much to do but now she won't be put down because she's tired. May aswell give up on the idea of being productive.

JuniDD · 22/07/2015 12:33

Sorry to be pleased at non sleeping tired babies but mine has been the same today. Was thinking I was the only one. She just wouldn't settle down, feeding a bit the. kicking herself off then crying. Finally got her settled down but why do they fight it so hard?!?

dulcet do what you need to do. Things are only a problem if they're a problem to you ie cosleeping, feeding to sleep. If you're happy to, that's what is important, not what any one else does. Thanks Thanks Thanks

ZylaB · 22/07/2015 14:38

dulcet the only place H would sleep foe weeks was on mine or MrZ's chest listening to our heart.

H won't sleep during the day except with my nipple touching her lip, if I move it she wakes up again! She's fighting naps during the day and gets grumpier and grumpier! Silly babies

Minion · 22/07/2015 14:41

No, she's grouchy in the day but nothing like last night!
I've had a glimpse of the top teeth and all 4 are very white and low towards the gumline.
This happened with the bottom two so I'm expecting to see something in the next few days.
Took her swimming this morning with her pals, completely non plussed (really hard to please ha) after no nap and hardly any milk (same as last time) and she's in bed now, I'm hoping that it stays that way and not 45 mins later.
God I'm knackered!

Bad habits schmabits! the husband days the same but hell, I'll Co sleep to get some sleep (although she's so noisy, it's more like she Co sleeps and I Co get annoyed with not being able to Co sleep)!

Soz about the whinge but I don't drink coffee so I have no outlet for my rage!

WilHarlot · 22/07/2015 16:16

Grin min.

Well I achieved the nap by having one with her. Amazing. Just what I needed. Recommend to everyone.

RPopz · 22/07/2015 17:03

Good plan wil! Grin

MiniP is also a nap dodger extraordinaire. Sympathy Brew for all.

My appetite has returned. Bad times.

Indigoblue2 · 22/07/2015 17:11

You guys ARENT selling this baby shit when I'm dropping in by lurking!!!!

JuniDD · 22/07/2015 17:26

hahah indigo, you take your life in your hands over here pre-birth!
But there are many wonderful moments too that far outshine the sleep-refusal. That being said, how in the hell are you meant to wipe a baby's super-pooey bum when it's trying to twist & crawl away. It's poomageddon every time round here lately. GROSS.

OP posts:
RPopz · 22/07/2015 17:37

Yeah indigo, I reckon the wanting to throw them out of the window vs thinking they're the best thing since sliced bread ratio is about 40/60 Wink Grin

teejayem · 22/07/2015 18:52

House: done
Stitches: healed
Baby proofing : cerelle
Foof: taking bookings for shagging, although point below is hindering process.
Co sleeping with TT on chest: all the time. Snuzpod barely used, poddlepod totes rejected
Nips: ravaged, thank god for Lansinoh

One handed typing episodes:1, child balanced on boob.

Minion · 22/07/2015 19:01

2 hour nap!
2 hour super nap and she only woke cause I woke her... And she took a whole 120ml!
Completely different kid on wake up, smiles and sunniness.
I'm under no illusion that come ten o clock it'll all change.
Ahh well.
Small miracles.

DulcetMoans · 22/07/2015 19:18

Well that's a more positive couple of posts!

Thanks for link popz, I have read to where we are and do feel better, this might just be normal!

Now, how long did it take you all to leave the house when baby was born? I'm not sure how we even achieve that at the moment since I've no idea when it's sleep it eat time!

WilHarlot · 22/07/2015 20:08

Good work Min!

Cerelle Tee?

Ha Indigo, we just like to moan on here because noone in real life listens to us or gives a shit! I am monumentally sleep deprived and still think I've given birth to the best baby in the history of time. You'll love it, babies are a breeze well they're not but they're much easier than toddlers.

WilHarlot · 22/07/2015 20:15

I think after a CS Dulcet, you just wait until you feel up to it physically. There is no rush but equally no harm if you feel like escaping the same four walls. First time after a difficult birth, I don't really remember going out much before we registered her and then went for lunch. So might have been a couple of weeks post birth. This time we were out and about after a few days but I had no mobility issues.

RPopz · 22/07/2015 21:21

Who's watching OBEM? NOT ME! I'm waaay to baby brained for that shizzle.

DulcetMoans · 22/07/2015 21:41

Not me popz. Too risky for tears at the moment!

Good to know wil. Need to find the balance between hibernating from the world forever and pushing myself. Having said that, we will need to go to the hospital again soon as baby has tongue tie so they need to assess it. Maybe that will be a good first step.

WilHarlot · 22/07/2015 21:54

Oh does he? Great that he's feeding so well then. Might be a factor in why he's feeding so much though. How are you feeling in general?

Not a fan of OBEM popz. Also never get to watch tv in the evenings as my delightful little cherub always wakes up.

FurryScoob · 22/07/2015 21:55

OBEM is nothing like reality, the midwives are a lot happier than the one I got.

Yay for the house & mended foof tee

Hope R has regained to urge to sleep min

juni I'm having the same nappy changing problems, I'm dreading when miniscoob can run & poo at the same time

I have no idea when I left the house dulcet or how I managed it!

Miniscoob has discovered the fridge, I have squashed dairy lea triangles. Angry
