wil, try not to worry about the weight. Babyj is an incy (everyone who meets her goes on about how tiny she is, and some of these younger babies are grossly overweight, imho Wink). She looks bright as a button in the pictures and that's the main thing. My mum is going to weigh babyj this week and I bet she's dropping like a stone on the chart. We've agreed to just not fill it in!
I've had some success with those petit filous "choobs" to get some yoghurt into her and she's beginning to accept a spoon so we may be getting some food in there.

Well done on the accounts mini, enjoy your macca!

there's a thing on the news now about trampolining. It's making me want to piss myself just watching.

zyla, my DP does Crossfit and we're starting some exercise with me doing 100 squats every other night (10 every minute on the minute so not too bad at all). I'll then start holding a weight and doing them, then adding a barbell. It's a great exercise and it's fun doing it together. Slow and steady will get us there!

We're doing BLW mini and we're really enjoying it. It's a messy business though Smile

Damnit I want a Big Mac now! Shock

RPopz · 21/07/2015 18:58

100 Juni !?! Shock Shock

Minion · 21/07/2015 20:34

zing I'd love her to take 6oz a time, won't happen though. She literally pulls away after 4/5oz and won't accept more.
She's getting worse tbh.
The only time I can get a decent amount in her is when she's half asleep. She's just so distracted, it's infuriating.
I'll deffo try tha banana avocado tomorrow if it happens again tonight.
I'm going to do a feed before we go to bed to see if it knocks her sleep cycle back to normal but knowing our luck she will go back to waking 4 hourly.
Can't win.

ZylaB · 21/07/2015 20:46

With the weaning I'm doing mostly BLW, I know this means it'll be longer before she needs less milk, cos it'll be longer before she's actually getting much in her, but she loves playing with it! She had a bit of toast at playgroup today and went mental when I put it away after she dropped it, so I had to keep giving it back to her so she could mush it up and suck on it :)

RPopz · 21/07/2015 22:04

Have you read "my child won't eat"? min? Bit of a misleading title as its mostly about babies, milk and weaning. It might help you feel better about things.

RPopz · 21/07/2015 22:06

Sounds like things are kicking off for Lala! So excited for miniLa to arrive. Then I think everyone who I started this crazy journey with will have their baby Smile

(Except Lil Sad - anyone know how she's getting on?)

WilHarlot · 21/07/2015 22:19

She said on fb the other day that she expects to start injecting again around the end of August. So fx for her.

La is the last of the ones who stuck around isn't she? The thread has grown vastly since then. There weren't really that many of us.

Thanks Juni and good news about the yoghurt and spoon action. I know better than to worry about weight really but she really is the most totty thing I've ever seen.

With BLW can you give any food straight away or do you still stick with fruit and veg to start?

Pisghetti · 21/07/2015 22:29

She posted on the names post on FB recently Popz - she's just waiting to hear about starting BC pills to kick off the next IVF cycle.

Exciting news about La! Will head over there with some poms poms now....

A friend of mine on FB posted a comment on a thread about early weaning so it turned up on my newsfeed. Loads of people giving it 'I weaned my baby at 1/2/3 months and they're ok' including one gem who weaned so early, her 6 month old was able to eat a happy meal.... I'm usually really unjudgey... But that I judge Shock

RPopz · 21/07/2015 22:32

For IVF wil?

Yeah - I found it really difficult to keep track of the more people that joined!

You can start with anything as far as I know. Anything they can pick up easily.

RPopz · 21/07/2015 22:34

Pis Shock My judgeypants are firmly strapped on!

WilHarlot · 21/07/2015 22:41

Hahaha no way Pis. Mind you when I was trying to google the question I just asked you lot, it took me to forums about it and someone suggested starting with chips because they 'smush' easily. Although I suppose in fairness she could have meant home made oven chips.

Micro can't pick any food up and put it to her mouth? Totally doesn't have the coordination for it.

WilHarlot · 21/07/2015 22:42

Sorry, yes for IVF.

Pisghetti · 21/07/2015 23:30

There's a pretty good weaning guide on here - I'm a while off it yet but had a read through the other day. I think part of BLW is them developing those skills to pick up food and get it to their mouths isn't it? I don't think you should stress about exactly how much they're eating in the early days. I think MrPis will find it quite stressful as he's really funny about wasting food! He's really against the idea of a cake smash for the first birthday for example.

DulcetMoans · 22/07/2015 03:22

Having not really stopped feeding since about 6pm and him being massively fussy at boob I am guessing this is cluster feeding - is that normal this early? He's only 4/5 days old!

(Will read back!)

teejayem · 22/07/2015 04:43

I think TT used to have lots of little snacks when he was very new dulce and used to just hang out on boob ALL the time after my milk came in. (Exploda-boobs!) It's to stimulate your supply apparently. If it's any consolation I've spent what feels like the last two days constantly breastfeeding, think mine is in a growth spurt, but I've managed to watch and awful lot of west wing and have got to the series with Jimmy Smits in it whom I adore...

So I think we have the house! They want an extra £250 anti cat wrecking deposit so I'm going to go into the estate agents this morning and pay a holding deposit and the referencing fees (£360!!) Hmm the joke of it is that I used to prepare all the tenancy referencing letters at work for employees and have the bloody template on my laptop, makes me so cross how they pull your shirt off for these things. Anyway! Fx it goes to plan we move aug 22nd. I've been hit by the realisation that we need to pack the house up: oh dear god.

TT and I have our 6 week postnatal check this morning. I am hoping I get my foof green lighted for shagging, it feels remarkably alright, if a bit lumpy around the scarring. I need to decide what to do about baby proofing myself though, Mr tee is happy to use condoms but I know we get carried away sometimes and we've agreed to wait at least 18 months before we have another one. I might see if there's any alternatives to Cerazette; I was okay(ish) on it but my god coming off to TTC was hideous, it took what felt like forever to leave my system and I didn't even have regular cycles by the time I fell with TT, which was 8 months after coming off it, and I'd only switched to it about six months prior, so long term I'd worry it would unbalance me more. Coils don't agree with my tilted irritable womb, so mirena is out. (Quite literally, I expelled the last two I had fitted) hmmm. It's a new GP I'm seeing so maybe he has some good ideas. (Other than the midwife I saw a few weeks ago who said abstinence was the best form of contraception. Hmm Helpful!)

ZylaB · 22/07/2015 06:18

tee yay for the house, and foof feeling ok!!

wil BLW to start with is stuff they can pick up but softer at the beginning, so cooked carrot, soft strips of toast, pieces of cooked broccoli etc. H has only just started (so a bit before 6 months) but she doesn't really eat it, plays with it..all her food input is still milk. For BLW you have to accept that they're not really 'eating' for the first few months :)

cookielove · 22/07/2015 06:48

We did purees with E with a mix of finger food, he is fine with lumpy food now but will only eat a select range of finger food grrrr!!!

I am back to work this week, which is why I have been Mia, but today its me and E! Lush!!

WilHarlot · 22/07/2015 07:32

Thank you for all advice. I am aiming to give some finger foods to try to improve her coordination and then sneak some purees in when she's not looking. I realise this goes against the ethos of BLW but frankly I am desperate for sleep.

How is work Cookie?

Great news about house Tee but not about robbing agency bastards.

Dulcet constant boobage is normal but what do you mean by fussy at the breast? Sometimes that can be tiredness or wind, but also can be reflux so keep a wee eye. Maybe see if there's a pattern to it. Are you coping ok?

WilHarlot · 22/07/2015 07:33

Oh also Pis, the idea of a cake smash makes me all tingly and uncomfortable too!

DulcetMoans · 22/07/2015 07:53

Thanks all! That was extreme, it was basically 6pm-4am and constant. He would stop and want another go, I barely put him down. He normally is relatively straight on the boob wil, once it's in his mouth anyway, but last night he would have it in his mouth and out again and like kissing it - it was right there for him and he seemed to want it but was just playing with it. I just fed him for half an hour, passed him to DH and now he wants more again.

It had been going fine for feeding until this and now I am confused!

Great news on the house tee, but what a lot of hoops!

Ah back to work cookie, not good. Hope you have some activities lined up today to forget about it and enjoy your time together.

WilHarlot · 22/07/2015 08:08

Ah ok, that doesn't sound like he's uncomfortable which is good. That can be entirely normal Dulcet, and it's important to know that it's just a passing phase. Things stressed me out first time round as it can feel like it will last forever but he will grow out of it. It could also be that he is sucking for comfort as much as for food. If he keeps it up, you could try offering a dummy in a week or so? Depending on how you feel about them. I probably wouldn't do it until your milk supply is established though as like Pis said, a lot of the sucking is to stimulate you to produce enough milk for him so it's important he does it. Have you got a good boxset to watch?

ZylaB · 22/07/2015 08:11

wil I wouldn't worry about the ethos of it, do what works for you and microwil! :)

cookie how's it been going?

Pisghetti · 22/07/2015 08:56

Wil one of my hippier friends does a a mixed approach to BLW with purées as well as finger foods - I don't think that's too unusual!

RPopz · 22/07/2015 09:29

Most people I know are doing mixed approach wil. It's still baby led if they have control of the spoon apparently. Epically messy though Wink

Great news on the house Tee, that must be a weight off your mind. Estate agents are robbing bastards like, I hate them! Hope the check up goes ok. No one even looked at me at mine - just asked me if I thought I'd healed ok. I did get a load of free condems though haha Grin

Boo to work Cookie hope you've got a nice day planned.

All sounds normal dulce - They do feed pretty much constantly once they get into the swing of it! Tiny tummies and comfort sucking etc. Get settled in on the couch! Are you feeling any more human? x
