I know we totally need to do that but haven't been able to leave the baby for six months. We could probably now manage a two hour dinner but it seems like a faff to try to get a baby sitter just for that.

cookielove · 17/07/2015 10:14

Sitters is quite good (for a babysitting company), you have to pay for a three hour minimum and all the Sitters are interviewed and crb checked!

RPopz · 17/07/2015 12:33

Spent the whole of yesterday with my head down the bog... Twas not pleasant. MrP stepped up and looked after miniPopz all day though, so that's one good thing. He even admitted "I don't know how you do it" Shock

Missed my baby so much yesterday but by God he's trying my patience today. He's been fighting sleep for hours and all he wants to do is grizzle. I'm shattered already.

cookielove · 17/07/2015 14:45

Oh no rpopz are you OK?

RPopz · 17/07/2015 15:34

Yeah I'm fine now ta Smile Must have been food poisoning I think. Hoping to God it wasn't a bug that mini can catch!

PixieChops · 17/07/2015 20:05

There is a bug going round, I thought I'd got food poisoning on Tuesday night because I was throwing up from 1-5am on Wednesday morning. OH ended up with D all last night and today. I am absolutely dreading DD and DS getting it.
Glad you're feeling better Popz but it's a shitter when the kids don't behave when you're feeling rough Thanks

RPopz · 17/07/2015 20:31

Yeah I spoke too soon... DH has just taken to his bed with it. I really hope minipopz doesn't get it! Sad Sad

DulcetMoans · 18/07/2015 06:00

I'm coming over here now - I made a baby! I have a nameless boy sleeping next to me. We are still in the hospital for a couple of days - he's due a feed now but first time he hasn't woken up for it. Feels unnatural to wake a sleeping baby!

I'm a mum! Smile

PixieChops · 18/07/2015 06:51

Yay! Congratulations Dulcet!! XxThanksThanks
Hope you're both doing wellSmile

JuniDD · 18/07/2015 06:59

Many congrats dulcet and welcome. ThanksThanksThanks We had to have the antibiotics and a week in hospital, hope you're only on the two day course and getting good bf support. I could never wake babyj to feed at that age!

We are back from holiday. Blessed relief to be back in my carpeted house and away from marble, oak floors and slugs! It was a nice break though. Had to do some extreme breastfeeding on the Seaton tramway Blush which was a bit arghhhh! Babyj finished the holiday last night by refusing to sleep as her tummy was hurting her, then doing such an epic poonami we just carried her upstairs folded into the changing mat and hosed everything down in the bath. It was hilarious.

Congratulations dulcet

FurryScoob · 18/07/2015 08:39

Congratulations dulcet enjoy your new baby cuddles

Where did you go on holiday to be staying with slugs juni

Hope you got through the night without a man sized poonami rpopz & mini popz has escaped without the bug.

Miniscoob has mastered standing, sit can't sit up for long but now pulls herself up on everything, cant yet get back down thoughConfused

WilHarlot · 18/07/2015 09:00

Hi Dulcet, welcome!

Can't believe how big all the babies are getting - standing already.

ZylaB · 18/07/2015 09:03

Congratulations dulcet :)

Eek at that poonami juni!!

DulcetMoans · 18/07/2015 09:17

Thanks all!

We may be here up to 5 days apparently juni but no one said for sure. We will at least be two days like you said

Saw your comment on FB pixie, he was a chunk at 10lb 1oz.

Booooo to bugs ladies! Don't all be ill!

JuniDD · 18/07/2015 09:41

Dulcet if his CRP is going down the two days should be ok...feel free to pm me if you want to ask anything from someone who's been there. I found it a crazy thing, particularly after a labour and delivery like that (similar here). ThanksThanks

RPopz · 18/07/2015 10:30

Yay! Welcome Dulcet Smile

Hope they don't make you stay 5 days, post natal wards are hell. I did 2 nights and 3 days and that was enough for me! Agree with Juni though - if his CRP is normal you can make a case for leaving. Concentrate on feeding him up Smile I had to wake minipopz every 3 hours to feed during those sleepy new born days. He was. wee bit jaundiced tho. I'd never do it now!! You can do what you like once you're home.

Don't think Mr P has got the bug... he was being a bit tragic last night but he's gone to work this morning so can't be that bad!! Mini is ok, hoping he's already got the antibodies from my boob milk.

Glad you had a nice hol Juni (minus poonami! Grin )

RPopz · 18/07/2015 10:31

Have you got a shortlist of names? x

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 18/07/2015 11:16

BabyZing is 1 today! yay!Smile

ZylaB · 18/07/2015 11:58

I did the BLW last night! She's not 6 months for another 3 weeks but has been trying to steal our food :). Gave her some cooked carrot sticks, she played with them, tried to stick them up her nose and then had a suck and a bit of a gum on them. She didn't eat any of it though but was a lot happier sitting wi us at the table and playing with it :) :). I know it could be a few weeks before much goes in and actually gets eaten so I'm not beating myself up over the fact she's not quite 6 months. We're having salad tonight so she can have some avocado to try! :)

Pisghetti · 18/07/2015 12:37

In don't think 3 weeks will make a huge difference Zyla - it's not like a switch goes off at six months on the dot! Sounds like she enjoyed the experience!

Hi Dulcet! Well done you star! And welcome to the world not-so-miniDulcet x

Happy birthday littlest Zing!

Yay for stands Scoob! Funny how she's mastering that before sitting Grin clearly the girl has places to go and things to do.

Glad you're on the mend Popz - touch wood I haven't had anything unpleasant yet. Wouldn't fancy this just mumming lark with my head down the toilet Envy

DulcetMoans · 18/07/2015 13:41

Thanks all! I am on a little ward with two other ladies. We are all unsociable and haven't spoken! All just want to go home I guess and desperately trying to stop our babies crying! He went for his first appointment earlier and they will be doing his blood tests this afternoon (after 5) and depends on the results of that of whether we can go home tomorrow or stay the full five days.

He's off the sugar protocol though - got his three good scores in a row. He was feeding every three hours too popz but with the formula top up for sugars. He didn't like the formula at all. Had his last at 9am and now trying to learn when he wants to feed! He just totally asked for it, got him out and lined him up only for him to all asleep again! Grandparents coming to visit at 2.30 so wanted to feed and change so he's pretty for them but he seems to have other ideas!

No names agreed popz and the short list didn't seem to suit yesterday. I think Zachary might be high on the list, sorry tee! But it's not certain at all. He did like Dexter but seems to have gone off it now he's here. I liked Logan but no. We both liked Alexander but talked ourselves out of it for various reason. Just don't know!

Happy birthday to the littlest zing!

It's all learning zyla! Haha.

RPopz · 18/07/2015 13:43

She should be fine zyla Smile They don't really eat much at first, just playing. Its so much fun watching their little faces though Grin

I know Pis - so lucky it happened on DH's day off work really. I couldn't do anything except lay on the bathroom floor for hours Shock Lord knows what I'd have done if he'd been at work. He took care of mini all day and just brought him upstairs for occasional boobing. (Nearly threw up on the poor child at one point Blush )

RPopz · 18/07/2015 13:46

Ah bless him Dulcet Smile That's exact same thing we did - shortlisted three names a couple of days before and then hated all of them as soon as he was born haha! It'll come to you. Enjoy grandparent snuggles! Is it the first time they've met?

rm00054 · 18/07/2015 14:23

Same Popz and Dulcet we had decided on Zachary, Isaac or Noah but when he was born we didn't like them for him. Took us 2 days to find a name we liked for him and another day to try it out. Got so annoyed with every constantly asking if he had a name yet though.
I've gone to visit my parents today. I thought it would be nice to have people to cuddle baby while I nap or get things done but he's constantly wanted boob so I haven't really been able to leave him.
