Right, I'll start us a post natal thread that we can gibber on.

We had vomit sunami X2 yesterday. One just before our dinner, which necessitated a quick bath/hair wash (which toots hated til sat her in the water then she was happy -ish). 2nd was about half 11 and all down her dad, took. But since then she slept for four hour stretches and been much more settled.

We formula feeding on demand (anywhere from 30ml to 90mls) but I don't know if we fed too much or didn't wind properly. But she is pooing for Britain so no problems that end.

come we had the same red raw bum on Sunday, it was so sore bless her... It appears to have calmed down considerably now though thank god! Bloody teething has a lot to answer for!!

comeagainforbigfudge · 13/04/2016 09:27

Phew! Red raw bum has calmed down. Lashings and lashings of metanium to the rescue. Although i do wish the poo monster would stop poo-ing quite so much. Just to give her bum a break Sad

glad to hear that the red bums have calmed down. We've managed to escape so far with only minor irritation.

However, we had an episode of white poo this weekend. I think it's down to DS not digesting some food very well. I suspect the culprit might be mandarins, as he has been eating a lot (he loves them), but a quick search suggests that one shouldn't really offer them to babies under 1 Confused

come, my DP is very worried (and overly cautious) about DS choking on whole food, which means we are still going slowing...

comeagainforbigfudge · 09/05/2016 11:02

How is every one doing? I cant believe its May and that its nearly 1st birthday time!! Shock where has the year gone?

DD is coming along well. Shes turned into a jack in the box with standing but no letting go yet

Shes obsessed with her stacking rings just now. Can put them all on, then turns it upside down to take them all back off again. Shes also very good at "helping" fold her clothes i.e. take them all out of basket after ive just sorted them Grin

Hi! Is anyone still about? (It's Bazza2, with a new name). DS turned 1 on Saturday but is currently feeling pretty ghastly with a cough, cold, post-vac misery and conjunctivitis. Poor wee bugger. How are all the other bugs?

comeagainforbigfudge · 28/05/2016 10:27

Morning! Im still here.

Aw poor wee boy 😢 hope he starts feeling better soon.

We are good. DD has been refusing to drink her formula so we have just dropped it and try to get her to drink cows milk instead. She does drink that but the formula was just an waste of time and money as it was all going down the drain!

No walking yet but loves standing and trying to stand on her own. So dont think shes that far off!

It is torture here. Three hours sleep last night, probably about the same tonight. I just don't know what do with him when he gets like this. He won't even take the boob, but that might be partly because he's been biting lately and as hard as I try not to, I can't help but react.

Exciting about the walking! It'll happen in the blink of an eye, all of a sudden she'll be rampaging about the place.

comeagainforbigfudge · 01/06/2016 16:02

I feel the sleeplessness pain. Dd was doing that the other night. Cracks ye up dont it. Wouldnt mind if i werent back at work and having to do 12 hr shifts. Woe!!

Hope youve all managed to get some sleep. Although now its heating up, maybe not!! 😢

Hi all (chookford here) hope all is well!

Sorry to hear we are having some illness and sleepless nights! Hope it all passes soon!

Mabel is 1 on Sunday and has taken her first steps today! It's fabulous and sad at the same time she is growing up so fast!! Seems like yesterday I was walking around with a huge belly!

FlangelaLansbury · 03/06/2016 21:02

I know what you mean ron, I'm getting emotional all the time about DS not needing me as much.

zahaziland · 05/06/2016 20:21

Hi All,
Happy Birthday to the babies who have already turned one!
I am sorry that sleepless nights are back. They are some awful. Now that DS sleeps through the night, I am slowly starting to feel normal again.
No walking here yet, but he is trying to balance himself while standing, so I think he will get the knack soon.

I know what you mean about the bitter-sweetness of them growing up. I love seeing DS grow, and learn new things, and change, but I the same time, I am sad to see my baby grow!

For those whose birthdays have already passed, did you give your babies cake? and if so what kind? I want to plan a small party for the family, and I would like to make a cake, but possibly a kind that DS could taste as well. Any ideas?

FucksSakeMargaret · 05/06/2016 22:22

I just made a normal cake and only let him have a bit. He's not bothered about sweet things as we haven't really given him any.

RonBurgundysMoustache · 08/06/2016 12:30

Mabel and her big sister are only a day apart so they shared a cake, it's was a sponge cake with jam and she loved it! Only had a small piece though! Grin

comeagainforbigfudge · 12/06/2016 16:16

Hello from sunnier climes (we on holidays. Last day today 😯)

Wee one turned one, and we went to the beach where she had bread & cheese instead of cake. Given my poor grasp of spanish, lo's egg allergy and not wanting a reaction we thought it best not to do cake.

EXCEPT she vomited for hours overnight. Well it felt like that. Every 20 mins for about 2hrs. Got some of that dioralyte into her and a few hours later its like it never happened.

except all the sheets were covered in vomit as was i

Oh dear, sorry to hear that your DD was ill on holiday, comeagain.
DS turned one too, we had cake (only a simple sponge cake, so he could have a taste too). It was fun, and obviously more fun for us, as Ds didn't really know what was going on.
Ds can now stand alone for a few seconds (especially if he forgets he's standing and is concentrated on something else), and walks with assistance (ie holding on to our hands).
This year has been so unbelievably fantastic, and I can't over how much I love Ds!

Vikkijayne2507 · 27/06/2016 13:51

Hi my lo was born 22nd June hello everyone. Luke eats like crazy when he wakes up he eats and cluster feeds all evening early night then wakes after 21/2 hours for more, he wet thru his nappy last night and cot so will be putting him in 2s over night

Vikkijayne2507 · 04/07/2016 14:51

excited at this stage go with it if your bf on demand it's frustrating but at this early age they really need to have needs met it will settle down eventually

WerewolvesNotSwearwolves · 10/07/2016 16:16

Hi everyone! How is everyone doing? Pretty quiet on this thread these days. I spend most of my time stopping DS from trying to climb the stairs/escape out the back door if I'm foolish enough to leave them unguarded. He also makes a beeline for the oven and the (locked) cleaning cupboard. Are all the babies 1 now?

WerewolvesNotSwearwolves · 10/07/2016 16:19

Hi vikki! I think we are all a year on from you, we are all June 2015.... Not that you aren't welcome, you can see where you will be a year from now! Is he your first?
