Right, I'll start us a post natal thread that we can gibber on.

We had vomit sunami X2 yesterday. One just before our dinner, which necessitated a quick bath/hair wash (which toots hated til sat her in the water then she was happy -ish). 2nd was about half 11 and all down her dad, took. But since then she slept for four hour stretches and been much more settled.

We formula feeding on demand (anywhere from 30ml to 90mls) but I don't know if we fed too much or didn't wind properly. But she is pooing for Britain so no problems that end.

Thanks to teething and a horrific cold, we have gone back to using some purées and had loads more success than three months ago.

Hope everyone else and their babies are doing well.

comeagainforbigfudge · 26/02/2016 18:11

Same here FuzzyOwl we all got the cold. DD teething on top of it.

Refusing finger foods/weetabix but happily eating whatever soft pureed food we can shovel into her.

Miserable week all round here. And to top it off im meant to be back to work next week. Could cry! Sad

Chookford · 26/02/2016 18:14

come oh no sorry to hear that... It's so hard leaving them, it does get easier and you do settle into a new routine very quickly promise! Flowers.

Hope all the poorly babies perk up soon

comeagainforbigfudge · 26/02/2016 21:52

Ah yes, think i might not have been clear there. Thanks for the sympathy chook but i meant i could cry because i feel so shit and my last week of mat leave has been rubbish. Although technically im on annual leave, so that explains the cold.

DD has been in nursery one day a week for past two weeks so im not worried or anxious about that. I just feel like a big bag of horrible crapiness and really dont wanna go back to work Sad

Im just moaning. Sorry.

OP posts:
Chookford · 27/02/2016 11:09

Ahhh no worries come you are allowed to Moan when you feel like crap! I've just recovered from Nuro-virus and oh dear god have I felt like shit and moaned a lot!!! We do enough we are allowed to have a few days of being off colour!

Hope you feel better soon! Flowers

zahaziland · 01/03/2016 10:53

Hope all the poorly babies are better.
DS is definitely one who prefers purees; I think he just likes that he can eat faster, and he is to slow eating himself! Grin

He is crawling commando style all around the house, but he seems to have quietened down a bit lately. I read somewhere that at 8 months, half of all babies say "mama" "dada" although not necessarily to the right parent. DS is no where near saying words.... Confused

We are going away for a week tomorrow, so first long-haul flight for him. I decided to buy baby food for our week away, as it will be a faff to make our own baby food (I normally prepare all his purees). I hope he'll eat it without fuss.

FuzzyOwl · 02/03/2016 17:44

I shouldn't have said that about progress with purées as we have all be struck down with a v&d bug this week and DD is managing about the equivilent of a bottle of milk - obviously she then takes her time to choose where to projectile vomit it, with the doctors' waiting room today's choice! She is also nowhere near talking either but has started to wave and clap.

comeagainforbigfudge · 02/03/2016 20:21

Oh chook that can not have been fun Sad

Well i had to phone in sick for first day back Blush no voice and cold settled in my chest. Still got a bit of a cough but slowly getting better.

DD is almost right as rain. Hardly coughing and just full of beans again. Although shes completely gone off her formula. Spoke to HV, as we shoveling dairy products (yogurt & cheeeeeeese) into her then we not to worry too much about her milk. Seems strange, and a bit too early for her not wanting milk but hey ho, i cant force her to drink it.

Enjoy your holiday zah

Fuzzy Sad your poor wee household. D&V is just awful. And of course it was doctors waiting room. but at least it wasnt your carpets Hope you all feel better soonFlowers

DD is crawling, babbling away (no idea what shes saying though), claps and waves sometimes. Mainly waves to every one but me and OH!

Shes also started putting things in my hand if i put it out and say thank you. Then takes it off me again very cute Grin

FuzzyOwl · 05/03/2016 18:59

Thanks. Hope you are feeling better Come. There are so many bugs around at the moment.

Thanks Chook. DD said her first word yesterday. Of course, it was dada! but I am glad to see she is recovering now.

Bazza2 · 06/03/2016 09:07

Happy Mother's Day everyone! Are you all doing something nice?

FuzzyOwl · 06/03/2016 11:42

Happy Mother's Day! We are lounging in bed feeling poorly but still, it I our first one together and just enjoying the snuggles.

comeagainforbigfudge · 06/03/2016 12:17

Happy mothers day! I got a "lie-in" which was preceeded by a baby patting my face to wake me. She refused to go to sleep on her own last night.

Im currently sat out back working up energy to carry on chopping down bits of the garden before it takes over! Poor garden been neglected because of baby Sad good excuse though Grin

Hope you all have a good day

A and I have been on our own trapped in the village all day but DP just got home and A got me a card, chocolate fingers and two mini bottles of champagne! Good job too or there would have been trouble.

FuzzyOwl · 11/03/2016 15:13

The three weeks of horror (conjunctivitis, awful cold and vomiting and diarrhoea bug) are finally over and I have back my happy, smiley DD again.

How is everyone else?

comeagainforbigfudge · 12/03/2016 13:46

Oh good to hear that fuzzy

I survived my first week back at work. It was HARD physically. But DD was with her dad so wasnt having to think about how she was getting on at nursery etc

excited, if you lurking, i hope you are ok

Hello everyone.

Fuzzy I'm glad to hear things are better. It sounded awful.

come have you settled into work now?

How is everyone else doing? Are you around Excited?

zahaziland · 30/03/2016 13:17

Hi All,

I hope you are all doing well.

A quick update here: we were on holiday earlier this month, everything went well, and DS was good and happy on the flights. On the way back he slept in the plane crib.
DS has been pulling himself up to standing for the past couple of weeks, he seems to really enjoy the new perspective he has standing up. He can tentatively "cruise" a few steps while holding on to something.
Sleep still isn't great, although we do have some nights in which he sleeps through completely. We finally had a first tooth come through, so that meant sleeping got disrupted. Last night, I ended up bring him into bed with us... Hmm, so I feel that we are stepping backwards...

Has anyone started thinking about first shoes?

comeagainforbigfudge · 30/03/2016 19:37

Sadly yes settled back in. Well still a bit rusty round the edges but i'll get there.

DD seems to enjoy nursery. Shes super speedy with the crawling. No interest in standing at all. Doesnt even want to weight bear. But that suits me just fine as im not ready for a toddling baby Shock
I keep wondering about first shoes. But think it can wait until dd actually up on her feet.

She has two teeth now and will happily eat everything i give her. But im struggling to get her to drink her formula. Think i might start a slow switch to cows milk. Which might work out really well as we go on holiday when she turns 1. The thought of taking formula/bottles etc was making me twitch. Cups i can deal with Grin

Hi there ladies.

I'm new here (very late in the day seeing the original date of the thread and nearly 10 months since my wee one came into the world) I've always ummed and arred about joining so here I am.... hello!
Today was my first day back at work and I'm feeling rather low at the moment about being away from the boy. I live in Essex and don't really have "friends" up here so no one to socialise with and talk mum talk other than a meet up now and again with a few mums from a local group.
My son was born on the 12th June 2015 and I've loved every minute.
Just hello and hope I've not left it too late to join x

zahaziland · 30/03/2016 20:13

Hello littlemac and welcome to the group. The thread is not massively active, but the more the merrier! Indeed I hope that the thread will pick up a bit!
It's tough at first going back to work - I actually had to go back to work when DS was only 4 months.... But I am lucky that I enjoy my work, and I have been happy to find a good balance between work and baby.

comeagain glad to hear that your dd is enjoying nursery. She has twice as many teeth as DS Grin Grin
I feel as if I'm not doing a great job is diversifying further his food. He is still mainly on purees (although now I don't make them quite so smooth). I think I will get some rice cakes at the weekend, to give to him.

I think DS will bypass proper crawling (i.e. on knees), he is quite quick commando style but is now more interested in figuring out balance standing up..

Chookford · 01/04/2016 18:24

Hi ladies

Sorry have been missing for ages had internet issues!

come glad your all settled back into work now, I go back in May and am not looking forward to it one bit!

M has been on cows milk now for a couple of weeks and loves it! She did the same, formula she would just turn her nose up at and she gets all the nutrients she needs from her food so I thought if try and it's worked for us so much easier as well!

zaha shoes are a for wimps according to M she will not wear them so we have daily punch ups! 😀 I'm hoping once she is really walking she will give in!

She is taking tentative steps now so don't think that will be long, as she finally has 2 teeth now!!! Horray

littlemac welcome, never too late to join in! Hope you feel better about work soon, it does get easier promise!

Chookford · 01/04/2016 18:25

Hope everyone else is well, excited if you still lurk, hope all is ok

comeagainforbigfudge · 12/04/2016 12:05

Hello hello. Im trapped on the sofa with a baby whos bum is red raw. Poor thing. We did well to get to ten months without having a serious bout of nappy rash. But oh my. Its proper taking over.

Not sure if its teething related!

Zah i give dd loads of soft but whole foods to try alongside spoonable foods.
Things like overcooked pasta, so nice and soft. Bread and spreadable cheese. Strawberries etc

Still not really trying pull herself up yet but speedy gonzales with the crawling now Grin

Hello littlemac. You all settled in at work no
