Sitting in my lounge with a screaming DS I got 30 mins sleep when he went to sleep at 4, but he has woken up miserable.

OnXmasdayinthemorgan · 05/12/2006 17:45

EEk Flame doesn't sound good hope dh is home soon.

for Amiable too - sounds quite hopeful prognosis but worrying too.

I like the doolittle name too - although i too was a bit slow on the uptake at first.

I want a fridge with a wine cooler thing too!

CantSleepWithSanta · 05/12/2006 17:49

I didn't twig it was MrsD either, even when we were fighting over Nigel last night!

Wine cooler sounds good. Is it bottle shaped, or could you use it to cool food too?

Amiable · 05/12/2006 20:35

Friz, thanks for the post - those links are very useful. I've been reading stuff online all day and feel a bit more prepared for whatever lies ahead. Just have to see what the consultant at Great Ormond St says... I'll have to pay my money to CAT you, but will no doubt be in touch soon.

on a brighter note - love all the Xmas names! I shall have to see if I can come up with something suitably festive. Also, the fridge with wine cooler sounds excellent! Think that the wine cooler bit would be the bit most used in our household though!

FLAMEinEckItsYuleAgain · 05/12/2006 21:06

DH got home at 5pm, I took two strong pills and slept for a while - but nightmare + screaming child (he refused his bottle) cancelled the sleep thing. Headache is down to a dull thump, just feeling odd (probably the pills making me slightly high).

Grandad update - NO heartattack!!! An upset stomach, home tomorrow or Thurs, Diamond WA party still on for sunday

Missed something about a fridge somewhere Wine is goooooooood though

WeFrizyouamerrychristmas · 05/12/2006 21:48

great news about grandad flame, lol he was having you on all this time

Aimiable glad to be of help, are you cat able??? save you paying your dosh??

mustrunmorenakedthroughthesnow · 05/12/2006 21:54

flame. Naughty Grandad though getting us all worried!

Well, ds2 has only had 2 breastfeeds in 24 hours. Not sure exactly how I feel. I cant get my head round why I'd want to carry on for much longer, esp with 2 more teeth coming, and I do want my body back purely so I can do a major diet/weight loss. If it wasnt for that, I'd prob be happy to carry on forever. So am I just being selfish? I've managed to bf him 9 months longer than I did ds1!

CantSleepWithSanta · 05/12/2006 22:12

flame - for some reason I read your post as Diamond White still on for Sunday - that brought back memories of my youth .

mrm - - was that down to you or him? Don't think you can beat yourself up about it if you decide to give up now - 9 months is really good going. You do know that tiktok says that what you eat doesn't affect your milk don't you, so you could actually do the weight loss and still bf though if you chose to.

Off to see hub for a photoshoot tomorrow, so won't be around much during the day.

mustrunmorenakedthroughthesnow · 05/12/2006 22:19

You're not a Diamond White type of girl!

But csws, you know my dodgy weight loss plan; cant combine that with bf. And cant you say 'virtually 10 months'; makes it sound much better! I really dont know why I'm having doubts, as I dont have a maternal bone in my body.

Enjoy your day with Hub! Where are you doing it? He's so good! Unphased even by ds1 in a huge strop! We now have our 2 huge piccies on the wall above the settee

mustrunmorenakedthroughthesnow · 05/12/2006 22:23

Oh, and it was down to me really. Just refused to feed him in bed at 5am after dh had already given him his bottle, then disappeared off upstairs to get stuff done, leaving a bottle for his 9amish one. Then he had a little one at lunch because he was soo tired and refused to eat (fell asleep after), and a 5pm one because we had people here and I hadnt even started to get tea ready We all had cereal and toast for tea today

You've made me think though; am I using the bf as an excuse for still being huge after all this time?

3Kissesunderthemistletoe · 06/12/2006 00:09

Hmmm, MRM I read your mail abour CSWS going to see Hub and read it in a rude way "where are you doing it - he's so good!!!

CSWS - think the wine cooler is integrated in the fridge, we havent got it on yet as had to leave it to stand. DH delivered it in his JL lorry then got stuck in mud outside our house for an hour and a half!!! Had to get another lorry to tow him out. It also has these vacuum things where you can apparantly make a sandwich, vacuum it and eat it in 3 months time NOT that you would want to eh!!!!

Flame - Glad your grandad is ok.

FLAMEinEckItsYuleAgain · 06/12/2006 09:39

He cried ALL NIGHT LONG

I had taken a lot of pills by then, and the lack of sleep, plus zombification really hasn't helped the headache go away. I promised my friend we would go out this afternoon, but Psycho has offered her bed for me to collapse in whilst the children play at her house - I'm torn

mustrunmorenakedthroughthesnow · 06/12/2006 09:39

...

mustrunmorenakedthroughthesnow · 06/12/2006 09:40

Sorry Flame, those werent for you.

GO TO BED GO TO BED GO TO BED

CranberryJelley · 06/12/2006 09:42

I agree.. go to bed now
No contest.

FLAMEinEckItsYuleAgain · 06/12/2006 09:45

But I promised weeks ago

CranberryJelley · 06/12/2006 09:48

3k - do we have a link to your fridge. Sounds pretty impressive

mrm - are you eating less to lose weight or just running more?
If you're eating more b/c of bf, then I'd agree that it may be a bit of an excuse You have lost weight though (or toned up?) You looked good at the Christmas meet, with no I've just had a baby look (except that pic where you were slouching so not counted ).

CranberryJelley · 06/12/2006 09:50

Flame. Weeks ago you weren't ill. Would you really enjoy it if you went?
Surely she will reschedule for another time.

GO TO BED

FLAMEinEckItsYuleAgain · 06/12/2006 10:57

Rescheduled. Going to bed at 1pm

Chloewhitechristmas · 06/12/2006 12:00

Glad to here it Flame!

Ds has had a few nights of unrest - mainly due to mum using baby wipes on him at the weekend thus causing the most horrendous nappy rash - he HAS to be wiped with lotion and cotton wool, it's a right pain in the arse - literally!

I stopped bf at 6wks and for some reason, now, at 9mths on I really wish I'd persevered - maybe it is because I have forgotten how awful I found the whole experience but strangely I now wish I was bf. I think it might be coz I have gone back to work and would have perhaps liked to be able to have something solely ours to do together - that nobody else can do. Weird, at the time I was desperate to stop and only felt guilty about it for a little while.

3Kissesunderthemistletoe · 06/12/2006 12:30

CranberryJelly - I cant do links but if you go on www.johnlewis.co.uk and type in fridge freezer, click on Hotpoint and it is the FFM48X model, it doesnt say about the vacuum thingy but it is really good. We tested it out this morning and I think we will be able to store some good things in there. Fridge is empty at the moment though as skint until Friday.

Slipped on some water in kitchen today and have badly bruised my foot. I am so accident prone. My toe has only just recovered although still swollen and now more pain

Chloe - I sometimes wish I had tried with breastfeeding more too, I didnt even do a few days. DS has been really happy on formula though and that is the main thing.

CranberryJelley · 06/12/2006 12:51

3ks new fridge freezer

Chloewhitechristmas · 06/12/2006 13:05

Yeah ds wasn't bothered at all about switching to formula either.

For all you bf and non-bf as well I guess, do your LOs have a huge obsession with your nipples? I find it really hard to bathe with ds now as he always reaches out to pull my nipples off!!! Just wondered if you bf whether they weren't bothered by them as they are used to them?

CranberryJelley · 06/12/2006 13:15

I keep mine well covered when not feeding him. A flaash of nipple, and he dives and sucks!

mustrunmorenakedthroughthesnow · 06/12/2006 14:47

You mean you dont walk round all the fridge showrooms topless?
