Argh!!!!!!!!!!!! Email from Game saying wii payment not gone through and the order cancelled

Money went in this morning Luckily because its in the first batch of wii they had a "call us by 4pm" bit so I could get them to try again.

I'm meant to be asleep, not panicking over bloody games consoles!

damewassailalot · 05/12/2006 09:39

Flame are you getting a wii???
I want one but as dh has no job and we have no money can't have one I'm sad I know

Chloewhitechristmas · 05/12/2006 09:43

Oh Amiable, what a shock! Presumably it is something that can be fixed though and won't cause her discomfort in later life? I hope so.

FLAMEinEckItsYuleAgain · 05/12/2006 09:45

Amiable

FLAMEinEckItsYuleAgain · 05/12/2006 09:48

DH sold the 360 for it

CranberryJelley · 05/12/2006 09:48

Amiable I may be wrong, but I thought one of the other Feb babies had the same problem.
I think it must be fairly common. One of my cousins has it, and another (nonrelated ) family member also has it.

Children with those casts seem to adapt really quickly and get around well, and if its treated early enough she may not have lasting problems.

Amiable · 05/12/2006 09:49

thanks Chloe.

Once she has has the operation(s) she should probably be OK mobility wise, although she may have a slight limp. However, if she doesn't have the op she most certainly will have a limp and lots of problems as the joint deteriorates - severe pain etc. Even with the ops long term she is almost certain to get arthritis in that hip, and need a hip replacement in her 30's or 40's .

We really won't know much until she has been the GOSH and seen the expert, which hopefully will be very soon.

Amiable · 05/12/2006 09:57

Thanks Jelley. Apparently it happens in about 1 in 1,000 births. It's apparently more common in girls, and also firstborns. There are several factors involved - it may be genetic, it may be because of the amount of oestrogen I produced during the pregnancy which made her ligaments slack, and it may be because she was too squashed in the womb.

We only picked up there was a problem because her left leg looks shorter than her right, which we noticed when she started sitting up on her own and standing up - her left leg is straight to the floor whereas her right leg is slightly bent. We are lucky in a way - if it happens in both legs you don't see that there is a problem unitl the child is much older and develops a limp, or "waddles" when they walk. At least we can get it sorted before she starts to walk.

CantSleepWithSanta · 05/12/2006 12:54

Sorry to hear that Amiable. Is that the same as Frizbe's dd1 had? Sounds like it might also be what friends of ours dd had, but she was fine once she stopped wearing cast. Still worrying though. Did they not pick it up at the 8 month check - thought it was one of the specifics they check for?

dame - has dh had no luck with the job hunting yet then?

FLAMEinEckItsYuleAgain · 05/12/2006 13:02

I'm crap. My brain is all clogged up with this headache and I can't function enough to do anything. My children want lunch and I can't get my brain around making it. I've just told DD off for colouring in on DH's phone bill when it wasn't her fault - she wanted to do colouring, and I randomly pointed across the room (at a blank pile of paper) and told her to colour with that - the phone bill was next to it.

WhyDooLittleStarsShine · 05/12/2006 13:09

Amiable - What a shock. Atleast dd feels no pain and it has been picked up early.
Sending you very best wishes for what lies ahead.

3Kissesunderthemistletoe · 05/12/2006 13:18

Sorry to hear that Amiable, the ops are for the best even though it will be tough to see her go through it. Hopefully it wont cause her too much pain later in life they may have a cure for Arthritis by then, you never know.

Well DS got up with the hump, had his second Pneumoccocal jab and cried, took him to be weighed - he cried (he weighed 22lbs 9.5oz at 42 weeks) and then got back administered calpol as instructed by HV and he had a nap and is now a different baby. I've started him on vitamins today too as he has had quite a lot of colds lately and with his chest problems HV thought it would be a good idea.

I'm very excited as we are getting a fridge freezer today. DH works for John Lewis and it is a Hotpoint FFM48X on their site at £549 and we got it for £349. We currently have a fridge that is too small and a separate freezer that go under the counters so we are getting rid of them and having more cupboard space in the kitchen. Get this, it has an instant wine cooler - put the wine in, press the button and it is instantly chilled!!!!!

3Kissesunderthemistletoe · 05/12/2006 13:19

I just realised DS will be a year old in 10 weeks!!!!

FLAMEinEckItsYuleAgain · 05/12/2006 13:26

Love the name MrsD

WhyDooLittleStarsShine · 05/12/2006 13:27

Ditto Flame

hotmulledwinemama · 05/12/2006 13:33

Amiable for your dd - but it seems it can be treated so hopefully everything will turn out O.K?

Frizbe - so that's 2 neg tests then (I had 2 ) do you feel that you could be pregnant or do you think your cycle has just gone a bit haywire?

I was shocked when you said the C word but then read and it was crap and not the other c word!

Anybody feeling really Christmassy yet? I am but then again I am a huge child falalala!

damewassailalot · 05/12/2006 13:43

Cool new fridge
Love all the xmas names brain a bit slow so it took a while to get mrs d's
DH not got a job yet, it's the wrong time of year, there are a couple of things that look hopefull and 1 company who want him but have no job so are trying to make up one so that the director will let them employ him, which would be very flattering if he didn't kind of need one now. I'm doing some evenings at sainsburys to at least have something coming in but we are just having a quiet christmas this year, the boys get too much anyway from other people.
Still not read through so no idea how you all are.
Sorry amiable didn't mean to seem to ignore you earlier, x posts but didn't notice yours at the time, hope things get sorted for dd, as you said, it is best to have caught it early.

damewassailalot · 05/12/2006 13:45

Meant to ask how long after stopping bfeeding periods came back for you lot, I can't remember.

FLAMEinEckItsYuleAgain · 05/12/2006 13:57

I'm sorry - not up to being able to do the round up for you

Stumbled to the shop and bought food for the children . (Disturbingly I am with it enough to add it to my budget spreadsheet )

Now sat hunched with a blanket. Sobbed down the phone to DH so hopefully he'll be able to get home early.

damewassailalot · 05/12/2006 14:02

Flame are you ill???
Tried to scan back but just to much and brain fuzzy of late

damewassailalot · 05/12/2006 14:08

ah hurty head not nice

FLAMEinEckItsYuleAgain · 05/12/2006 14:09

I had the start of a migraine yesterday whihc I didn't have the chance to sleep off (my normal method) - if I just take painkillers it eases to a throbbing headache... but one that lasts all week (the migraine is gone after a day of sleep normally).

Sooo... on day 2 of the headache and not functioning too well. Staying online because althoguh the screen hurts my eyes, it keeps me awake in charge of children

CranberryJelley · 05/12/2006 14:42

dame - still b feeding, first period this week.

WeFrizyouamerrychristmas · 05/12/2006 16:39

Sorry if I've missed anyones posts as I've got aimiables stuck in my head, as this is what dd1 had, luckily dd2 didn't but we've still have to be monitored, as I've got a clicky hip and mum can hardly walk now (hip replacement for her soon and probably me in a few years time...gran had it too!)
DD1 had the pavlik harness as was spotted in time, and luck for us that did the trick, I've dug out a couple of good websites for you to have a look at, that helped me with more info than I got from the hospital unfortunatley, who looked at me blankly when I asked them for info on help groups
Sorry this is happening Aimiable, but if you want to cat me to chat I can kinda relate to whats happening and going to happen, but see as usual lots of good advice from the rest of the feb threaders your a fab bunch you know

WeFrizyouamerrychristmas · 05/12/2006 16:41

Hotmama, I know, I know, I'm not feeling particularly preggers, but my boobs were odd for a few days and then my tummy went a bit rounded, which caused dh to panic, I reckon my cycle must just be to pot???? will have to go docs if nothing by next week I reckon.

Hi all

Flame hope your lying down in a dark room by now and dh is home to resuce you.
