mustrunmorenakedthroughthesnow · 04/12/2006 22:04

Ugh! I used to get worms alot as a child; apparently some people are just more prone than others.Lots of short nails and hand washing etc etc. Revolting red powder to dissolve from the chemist. GP once told my Mum that eating raw carrot helps. And wearing gloves in bed so you dont itch your bum at night!!

CantSleepWithSanta · 04/12/2006 22:16

Ah - don't know whether to be pleased or disappointed Frizbe!

No experience at all of worms.

I've been watching America's Next Top Model, and now on to the final of Jade's PA - all excellent crap! Suspect Jas will be watching something diff .

WeFrizyouamerrychristmas · 04/12/2006 22:42

you know something CSWS nor do I I've kinda gotten my head around the idea again (yikes) but as I'm not phew, IFUSWIM? mind you its not over until the fat lady sings is it (and I do sound terrible when I do!)

mustrunmorenakedthroughthesnow · 04/12/2006 22:44

If we ever had another one, I'd buy it off the internet No way can my body take another pregnancy! And I said that after ds1 too!

WeFrizyouamerrychristmas · 04/12/2006 22:48

Oh don't get me wrong MRM I'm not intentionally looking to get a bun in the oven, but had kinda just gotten my head around an accident ya know!

mustrunmorenakedthroughthesnow · 04/12/2006 22:53

I know.
I've got a burying head in sand attitude until dh's snip, as that has always worked up till now

CranberryJelley · 04/12/2006 22:58

Watching Without a Trace, and multitasking by writing Christmas cards at the same time. It's usually that or CSI
I'm on an ad break. I have to watch a bit of telly in an attempt to convince dp that I don't really spend all day every day on mumsnet.

Tis only money that stops me wanting more (particularly as ds is so easy). We couldn't really afford him, and another one would be seriously irresponsible.
We have no prospect of moving, and the 2 bed house is a squeeze already.
DPs cousin is apparently selling his lovely 3 bed house with a very large gartage this year, but even at family rates I don't think we could afford it

FLAMEinEckItsYuleAgain · 04/12/2006 23:18

I should be in bed. Tired, but brain in overdrive and likely to have nightmares if I go to bed like it. If I didn't have a headache I'd think rude things with DH might help me sleep better (flashbacks to the antenatal threads when we established how best to stop pregnancy insomnia )

You swore Tabs!!! I'd never have thought it!!!

Great thread with the fanjo!

FLAMEinEckItsYuleAgain · 05/12/2006 07:30

I think he might have slept from 8pm to about 4.30am In all honesty though, I didn't look at the clock when I fed him, so it could have been 1am... All I know is that he was really restless from 5.30am (when I chucked him back in his cot), and I had leaked all over the place. I rarely leak now, and he normally gets restless after about an hour in our bed.

Dunno!!

Plan is to drop DD at school, come home, and sleep when he does - my head is still pounding.

FLAMEinEckItsYuleAgain · 05/12/2006 07:37

car insurance anyone know anything?? MrCSWS maybe?

CantSleepWithSanta · 05/12/2006 07:39

Where did I swear ?
Actually I swear loads in RL, but try not to when writing. How's the head today?

CantSleepWithSanta · 05/12/2006 07:40

Crossed posts!

FLAMEinEckItsYuleAgain · 05/12/2006 07:43

10.16 pm... you said the c word

(I have no idea why I see you as a non sweary lady...)

CantSleepWithSanta · 05/12/2006 07:45

I don't even think of that as swearing - is it?
I'm sure you think that I'm all posh and ladylike - you're going to have such a when you actually meet me!!

FLAMEinEckItsYuleAgain · 05/12/2006 07:48

Anyone's posh n ladylike compared to me

CranberryJelley · 05/12/2006 07:55

I've met you and didn't notice swearing. I did have to look when Flame mentioned it as I didn't notice at the time.

I can remember saying it alot when I was about 7 or 8 and it was a new word. I had no idea what it meant, but my mum made it clear it definitely was swearing, and I didn't use it again!

OnXmasdayinthemorgan · 05/12/2006 09:11

Good morning all.

Hope you got to sleep Flame using whatever technique works best

mrn, have same attitude but think it is unlikely i willl get pg as have only one tube and only conceived on clomid. DH doesn't want another though.me head says no, heart sometimes yes esp when looking at baby pictures !! i do have one month of clomid left.

Re worms i think ds had them end of last year he took one dose medicine i bought at the chemist and has been fine since.

damewashalot · 05/12/2006 09:21

Morning!
Like the smileys

Not been on for ages, no idea whats going on, any chance of a recap????? last I heard dew had just found out is pg.

Back in a bit with a festive name

OnXmasdayinthemorgan · 05/12/2006 09:21

Flame - have posted on the ins thread as do know something about this.

I do recall csws swearing a bit in rl - but she is quite ladylike really

Chloewhitechristmas · 05/12/2006 09:21

Morning ladies,

I really do need to make sure I don't go past a couple of days without coming on here because it takes too long to catch up!

Flame - hope the head is better, I sympathise immencely, not long got over one myself. Also hope your Grandad is feeling as well as he can. I know what you mean about wondering if the perking up is a good sign or not - I felt exactly the same about my great grandad - he went from being extremely poorly to much brighter within a few days and we all worried it was his way of saying bye in the nicest possible way. He lived a few more months after that but then he was 97 so his time had come I guess.

Frizbe - Kinda congrats on the -ve I think?

LM - Nice to hear from you, hope you get things up and running soon.

Flame - you mentioned your ds becoming more cuddly (I think you said it was probably because he was poorly) however, I have noticed that ds is getting so much more cuddly, he was never particularly an affectionate baby - he liked his own space but now he comes over to the settee, holds his arms up to pick him up and then proper snuggles, it's lovely

Chloewhitechristmas · 05/12/2006 09:22

Oh no, forgot to do

Amiable · 05/12/2006 09:30

Hi everyone.

Well, this week officially goes down as one of the worst ever. DD has been diagnosed with acetabular dysplasia - basically her left hip joint has not grown and developed as it should. The socket is too shallow and her hip has dislocated as a result. She is being referred to Great Ormond Street and will need surgery, probably more than one operation, followed by several weeks or even months in a cast from her ribs to her knees.

the one positive thing is that she is not in any pain, or even discomfort, and it certainly hasn't stopped her crawling around at top speed!

As you can imagine it's a horrible shock. We should hear from great Ormond st within a week or so, so will have a better idea of what happens next when we have seen the Orthopaedic Surgeon there.

Haven't had a chance to catch up with all the posts - as usual you have all written far too much in the last fortnight but hope you are all faring well. I will keep you posted as to DD's progress.

damewassailalot · 05/12/2006 09:34

Did it work?
Does it make sense? it works in my head or if I say it wassail as in here we come a-wassailing but looks funny when I write it what do you think?
Why did friz think pg?????? I am waiting for period to arrive as stopped bfeeding 3wks ago, lots of hormones and slight crampy type pains on and off but no period where is it?
