Hello Tictac and Frizbe - how are you?

DD2 is standing up and all over the place - has eventually got two teeth - and I'm still bf - even with the occasional nip! [ouch icon]

Still on maternity leave going back in Jan - though can't bring myself to type the e-mail. At least I've got loads of annual leave to use up so will be taking 2 days a week until Easter - then suppose to be working full-time but think I may be applying to drop a day/couple of days.

Will try to post more regularly.

TicTac · 14/11/2006 10:38

Hotmama - Hurrah for teeth! And standing up too. I go back to work on the 4th Dec and am taking Fridays off until end Jan plus having Thursday as a non working day (via a reduction in my hours) so hoping I can ease myself into it.

damewashalot · 14/11/2006 10:47

congrats dm....... who's next then?

flamesparrow · 14/11/2006 10:55

I've now got a cracked tooth and a filling fallen out and I need to sort care for the munchkins while I go and get them sorted (HATE the dentist too...).

I think I'm going to have to go and see my GP - I am sooo low now and I don't see any way to get out of it without help. Its not fair - why do other people's brains work properly??? Why do I have to have one of the ones that needs pills to get it to work right???

TicTac · 14/11/2006 11:02

[worried for you]
People cope in so many different ways flame....don't be giving yourself a hard time over it. Do you still have money issues too? That never helps does it?!?!
{big hug]

flamesparrow · 14/11/2006 13:45

I'll be ok - yes, still got money issues

Jelley · 14/11/2006 13:53

flame - when psycho was struggling, you knew the right thing was to get her help. If you are struggling now, then ask for help. There is nothing wrong in that.

Also. Hospitals are truly terrible at providing for the nutritional needs of the eldely and frail. If at all possible, get all his visiting timed for meals, so you know someone s there to help your grandad. Failing that, I would take snacks you know he likes (flask of soupetc)in the evenings.

( let me know when you have banked that cheque. I didn't write my number on it and am now paranoid that it will bounce on you.)

Happy baby went from 8pm til 4am without feeding (but did wake at 11, just as I closed my eyes, so I had to get up for an extra 40 mins)

Hello hotmama

dewmeadow · 14/11/2006 16:21

Jel - great about happy baby! Im soo jealous. Whats your secret or was it the baby's decision?

Flame - definitely do not beat yourself up about asking for help. YOu are under TREMENDOUS pressure from so many sides and sometimes something has to give. It is not a sign of failure or weakness that you are going to the doctors - its a sign of your strength and desire to overcome it.

dewmeadow · 14/11/2006 16:23

O yes, Katherine is 3 in 2 weeks and Rory is 8 months, so the age gaps wil be (fingers crossed) ....um..........um.......
3.8ish and 1.5 ish. (I think)

ellenrosethenotsosecretpirate · 14/11/2006 17:11

Oooohh oooooohh CONGRATULATIONS

So pleased for you Dewmeadow.

Hi Hotmama and NAO

Flame - go easy on yourself, take whatever help you can get. You are clearly going through a really tough time but still manage to make time for all of your family and friends both in RL and virtually. We are all here to help but the docs might help relieve the pressure. Take care of yourself

Forgot what else I was going to say - what an exciting couple of days

Jelley · 14/11/2006 17:18

dew - sorry. It was mostly Boy's decision, all I have done is not feed him if he wakes before midnight.

NotAnOtter · 14/11/2006 17:23

i do look in on the thread most days but feel a bit boring and as if i have nothing to offer

Flame - you are NOT the only one
jelly
Hotmama - are you getting broody

HELLO to everyone - might do a link to my little one....

mustrunmore · 14/11/2006 18:44

I'm back from csws's house ds1 was fairly well behaved but has unfortuately found a second wind after a 5 min nap in the car, so I think we'll be up all night

Frizbe · 14/11/2006 19:56

MRM its a mare when that happens, can you drug him to sleep evil mummy!

Flame {{{Hugs}}} everyone else has covered it all so eloquently, so I'll just send hugs and you know where we are hon!

Hi NAO!

Hotmama et all did I mention dd2 decided she could walk with the aid of a push along walker yesterday she's 8 mths FGS, and still has no teeth!
We found a fab sing a long group to go to today, its on for 1hr every Tue afternoon and costs £1, hurrah!

flamesparrow · 14/11/2006 19:57

Argh MRM - you don't have fun nights with your little men do you? How are the ghosters lately?

NAO - it doesn't matter what you say, we just wanna see your little face (or letters ). I wanna see baby otter!!!

Yay for your night Jelley (still feels wrong )

I am currently sitting in blissful silence! DS went to bed at 7.15 with DD for the first time since Friday (he's been screaming til 9ish every other night). He did some very vile poos last night (someone has been feeding him dead pigeons by the smell...), and he seems a lot happier today.

I am a lot brighter for having talked about it all more. Worrying about the work on my teeth, but it'll all be over fairly fast - and if she takes one (or both ) out, then it will mean no more problems with them in the future! I have finally told Psycho how low I've been, which has helped in itself. The xmas thread is making me feel brighter too - just seeing how much love there is just on MN is so warm n fuzzifying .

Grandad - They are trying to encourage him to eat as much as possible - its hard getting my gran to the hospital to visit, let alone get there at eating times etc too. My mum is going each weekend for the forseeable future (DD is going to miss her so much, we spend a lot of time with her at weekends). Saw a photo of him taken yesterday and he looks a lot better than I expected... it is hard to tell though because he has very dark skin all year round, so always looks like he has a healthy tan!!!

Probably forgotten lots...

Still pondering the absence of the Dragon... I can't picture her namechanging - a holiday?

mustrunmore · 14/11/2006 20:00

Flame, I've been thinking about you alot Mainly in the middle of the night when I'm wide awake, it has to be said!
Ghosters seem to be taking a back burner, although he does mention the 'people in his room'.

flamesparrow · 14/11/2006 20:02

Oh DS sussed that too Frizbe One of those peekablock hippos (my sis has got him one for xmas now )

mustrunmore · 14/11/2006 20:05

ooo, I keep looking at the peekablocks, even though we really dont need any more toys!

Frizbe · 14/11/2006 20:06

Flame, this is a vtech walker thing, a friends ds donated it, as dd1 still won't let go of her blocks walker it's HERS! not dd2's......
Sorry to hear about the Dentist BTW, dh hates them too, so your already being lots braver than him, his teeth are a right mess.......and he still won't go.....
Oh yes you did hear me right, he is a Pirate at weekends.......ahem...........

CantSleepWontSleep · 14/11/2006 20:07

Evening all.

Oh mrm I hope not! Maybe it was the chocolate 'nuffin' that did it!! Can you tell him that 'kipper' has found his cement truck and will look after it for him til the weekend.

Got DD off to sleep and am planning an early night myself - am shattered! Just have to make some phone calls first (and do a little MNing of course ).

Few pics from this afternoon below - do take a look at the first one all those who were part of the tattoo conversations recently.

mustrunmore · 14/11/2006 20:08

ds2 is getting that walker for xmas! We were deciding between xmas or birthday (with the other thing being an activity table), but he had a go with csws's and did quite well! Er, with her dd's rather!

Jelley · 14/11/2006 20:11

I was looking at that in Woolies this morning I may suggest it to MIL when she asks...
I walked to town to Christmas shop and bought 3 paint your own cup and bowl sets for dds and friends ds (3 for 2), and nothing else. I'm taking the head in sand approach to Christmas at the moment.

Flame - you can call me jas. I still do a double take when people talk to Jelley. (I guess I'll always be jas in the way that csws is still tabs to me.)

mustrunmore · 14/11/2006 20:15

ds1 has painted 8 eggcups to give to people Think he's a bit sick of doing it!

I've just found that xmas gift thread; what a great idea.

You're Jas to me too

MrsDoolittle · 14/11/2006 20:17

Hi Dewmeadow

Congratulations!!! The small age gap will be nice.
My sister was 3 months old when dm conceived my brother! But the two of them are like twins
