A lovely thread for all the JS Grad Grads to chat feeding, sleep and post-birth STUFF.

Roll call please ladies and perhaps add the number of slings and buggies you have acquired at the time of posting... wink

R is a ginge And I couldn't be happier. I love redheads so much I dye mine.
F* them!

Pisghetti · 23/04/2015 17:36

Wow that's so rude! My son was born with ginger hair. It was a surprise to us as there is no one with red hair on either side! Thank goodness he looked like his dad or I'd have been on Jeremy Kyle. He was tiny for a long time (took him 4 months to hit 12lbs even though he was 7.14 at birth) as well as ginger but thankfully I never encountered such rude people!

There was a mum at the sling library today with a small baby - only a little bigger than B but 12 weeks older. I took your advice and didn't comment on size and instead said what fabulous hair he had. Mum replied she's a girl. Awkward. On the upside though I've hired a fabulous ring sling!

WilHarlot · 23/04/2015 18:49

Hahahaha good try Pis! Grin

I quite want to dye my hair reddy too.

I have another comment which actually annoys the fuck out of me. I've had it three times in about two weeks when MiniWil is throwing her usual tantrum in the park. "Oh are you spoiled?" Seriously? Could you insult my parenting anymore?! Good for you you have the perfect child.

ZylaB · 23/04/2015 19:27

Do you think we could get away with thumping people who say things like that? We could blame post pg hormones and sleep deprivation?! Grin

JuniDD · 23/04/2015 20:33

There are some rude bloody people in the world eh? Time to deploy the "did you mean to be so rude?" on 'em!
I've been surprised not to get more weird comments (though the talcum powder one was pretty breathtaking). I reckon they'll come as she gets older.

Just remembered I have a friend coming tomorrow and my house looks like an explosion in Toys R Us....so can't be arsed to do anything about it though.

WilHarlot · 23/04/2015 21:14

I have a professional child-related person coming Juni and my house is so disorganised. She's going to judge massively.

ZylaB · 23/04/2015 21:30

Just tell anyone who judges that your time has been better spent looking after and loving the kids! How can they frown at that??

I think I've got a milk blister developing on one of my nipples, it really hurts! Any advice?

FurryScoob · 23/04/2015 21:50

I should of come on here when the comments were upsetting me, you lot would of cheered me up straight away. Gingers Rule! Grin

At least it was a compliment pis even if the sex was wrong.

No help with the nipple zyla sounds painful.

JuniDD · 23/04/2015 22:14

Zyla I believe you have to get these pricked at the gp. Take a look at Kellymom.

BabyJ has been doing a shit latch the last couple of days and I am SORE.

RPopz · 23/04/2015 22:14

I have also spent many thousands of pounds and hours in a hairdressers trying to be a redhead! Enjoyed it while it lasted but was too much upkeep sadly.

Lol Pis! At least you tried Grin

Someone referred to minipopz as toddler sized earlier....

Debating whether to go see Mum tomorrow. I feel bad that she doesn't get visitors everyday but it's such a bitch getting a train and a bus there and back with the baby. And I feel bad for him being dragged from pillar to post all day long.... Do you think they mind?

RPopz · 23/04/2015 22:16

Sorry about sore boobage ladies! Never even heard of a milk blister Zy... I won't Google Shock

Speaking of hairdressers, I'm contemplating doing the dreaded mum chop. Long hair is a pita to wash and dry and I always end up scraping it back in anyway... Especially now he's discovered hair pulling!

Nessalina · 24/04/2015 00:36

Ooh sounds sore Zyla Confused I'm pretty sure I thought I had one at one point it's a familiar Google search phrase coz I had a raised red bit of nipple, but it just went away on its own, so thing it was just general soreness.

J mostly gets 'isn't he a chubby little fellow' type comments which I don't mind too much as he really is, but I do worry a bit about him getting a complex if it continues! Grin

I got a bit burned today! Shock Lots ofsunshine and walking, it was lovely. Been thinking a lot about the return to work logistics though which is a bit depressing ...

J's passport arrived!! GrinGrinGrin

ZylaB · 24/04/2015 04:37

I'm at the docs later for a blood pressure check (bloody pre eclampsia is the gift that keeps on giving! Hoping to get taken off the bp tablets finally!) so I'll mention it to her and get her to take a look. It's basically where some skin grows over a milk duct, blocking it. So I have a clear little blister on the end of my nipple, it's tiny but I think that's what it is, and it hurts when feeding and after my boobs bloody aches! I was hoping H would pop it, but not so far :(

ZylaB · 24/04/2015 04:39

Yay for J's passport juni and boo for sore boobs! We need to get H's passport sent, it's all filled out, just need DH's mate to sign the photo, he'll hopefully do that this weekend.

WilHarlot · 24/04/2015 07:02

Must get passport sorted, not that we can afford a holiday.

That sounds owchy zyla. This one has a blocked nose so is feeding badly and my nipple is killing too.

I think I'll be judged more about the fact MiniWil's chat consists of listing the entire schedule off Nick Jr.

Nessalina · 24/04/2015 08:30

I just wrote a long and hilarious reply but my phone fricking well ate it Angry

Zyla - beware of post office check and send! They charge you to check it, and even if it's wrong you have to pay for it to be checked at that point. Once you've corrected it, you have to go back to the same post office, because if you go to a different one, they charge you again! I went to one that I couldn't get back to, like a fool, and had to pay twice!

ZylaB · 24/04/2015 08:45

We're not going to get it checked, though I did want to ask... Obv we send H's birth certificate, do we have to send mine and MrZ's passports as well, or is filling in the numbers of them sufficient?

ZylaB · 24/04/2015 09:43

I forgot to say, we think H may stand for Houdini! The last two nights she's escaped her swaddle by wriggling around and we've found her at the bottom of the cot turned 90 degrees and looking really pleased with herself Grin Grin

Nessalina · 24/04/2015 12:45

Nope, just fill out the numbers.
The only time you have to send additional docs is if either you or your OH have a different name on your passport to the name on the birth cert, and then you need to include proof (so I had to send marriage cert coz passport is in maiden name). Otherwise just the birth cert!
We had to do check & send coz we had a holiday booked 3 weeks after we did the application!!

ZylaB · 24/04/2015 13:59

Thanks ness that's really helpful. :)

WilHarlot · 24/04/2015 14:12

I did an online application and then sent the documents off for my new passport. It seriously took about five days to come. Although don't know if you can do that for a first passport.

Feeling a bit emotional today. Having to finally accept that MiniWil has some issues which need dealing with and which aren't going to go away. It's hard thinking she might have a tough time ahead.

JuniDD · 24/04/2015 15:28

Big hugs wil, good that she's getting a bit of help and try not to worry about the future (very easy for me to say of course) Thanks Thanks Thanks

Having a weary day today and the baby won't nap. Needs to take a leaf out of MrJ's book...Hmm

ZylaB · 24/04/2015 17:35

Hugs for you and miniwil wil

juni give the baby to MrJ and go for a sleep!

WilHarlot · 24/04/2015 17:48

Thanks viroids.

Yes make him look after her for a bit. I'm exhausted too. Can't wait until bedtime so I can get four hours of broken sleep.

ZylaB · 24/04/2015 18:08

wil same goes for you! Give them both to MrWil!
