We've no time for JSing. We're battling green nappies, sleepless nights, x-box playing men and trying to hide our sling addictions. Fuck it, let's do a runner on a golf cart.

A lovely thread for all the JS Grad Grads to chat feeding, sleep and post-birth STUFF.

Yeah she's trying to self soothe, totally normal. This one does it too. I think our babies have ganged up on us and have a plan Zyla. They are suspiciously on the same timetable. That bag looks great. I'll have a review of that too please Wink .

Nessalina · 16/04/2015 04:23

J is wide awake and cooing to himself! Grin He woke me up trying to roll out of the bednest! He can't roll over on the flat, but with the Bednest sides to grab onto he was having a bloody good go Grin I fed him, but not sure if he would have settled back on his own without my intervention... Starting to feel like he might need to be in his own room very soon nooooooo my baybeeeeee!! Blush

Awesome changing bag! No way I can get away with that price though, I think I'll just have to use my old scraggy back pack Grin Funds are short at this end of Mat leave, especially after holiday booking! Yeah, girls & babies, should be fun!!

ZylaB · 16/04/2015 04:28

ness that's so brave! We're going away in September, but not flying and I'll have MrZ to help lug all the stuff :)

wil I think they definately are conspiring. Maybe they're emailling or something and laughing about us! H was also very unsettled today, but has just made up for it with a 6 hour stretch asleep!

Nessalina · 16/04/2015 08:02

Go H! What a champ.

Not sure if it's brave, or foolhardy!

WilHarlot · 16/04/2015 08:29

Ah Microwil hasn't read the latest email then. No bloomin six hours here. Although we do always wake her up after the first couple so don't know what she'd do if I left her. I doubt six hours though. We got almost four and then hourly wakings until I gave in and decided to stay awake. I'm starving now.

She's happy as larry after doing a massive poo.

Is it a cruise you're going on zyla?

We have no real holiday planned until next summer. V depressing.

ZylaB · 16/04/2015 09:41

Well I feel amazing! She did the 6 hours, was up for an hour and 15 feeding etc, then did 3 hours. DH got up and went to work and I mssed it lol.

Yes it's a cruise wil am excited, she'll be 7 months so hopefully a bit easier to judge.

The sling will be here before 2! Will test it out this afternoon

ZylaB · 16/04/2015 09:45

And 6 was random, we normally get 4 or 4 and a half to start with, she had been really cranky cos she wouldn't nap properly yesterday. I don't put her down at a certain time but she usually sleeps at some point (in sling or my arms normally!), but didn't properly yesterday.

RPopz · 16/04/2015 10:06

That's nice Zy - what colour did you get? I'm thinking I'll just get a normal backpack tbh, prob cheaper. I want a nice tan leather one but can't for buggery find one.

Wil it pulls on my shoulders a little but I think that's because I pull it too tight. It's a shame you don't have a sling library near you because I think you need to try a few on with an expert - with your back and hip ishoos!

I'm really tempted by a holiday - people keep saying this year will be the best time to go while he's still portable and not mobile!! Don't know if we can justify the expense though Sad

ZylaB · 16/04/2015 10:28

The sling is birds of Norway, the bag is the black and grey blossom one :)

ZylaB · 16/04/2015 10:29

And H loves Ken Bruce on radio 2!! Omg she keeps grinning when he's talking lol

ZylaB · 16/04/2015 11:06

Apparently we're cluster feeding this morning Hmm. Wonder if she's having a growth spurt. I'm never sure if they're actual age or adjusted for being prem..if it's adjusted it'd be about right for the 4-6week one... I dunno. Maybe she's just being fussy to make up for an excellent night.

WilHarlot · 16/04/2015 12:34

Adjusted I think zy but don't quote me on that.

Think there's a library in Glasgow somewhere. Could try to find it.

Immunisations now. The joys!

ZylaB · 16/04/2015 13:27

It'd make sense if adjusted, she's being a boob monster!

Sling is here, I'm going to read the instructions and try it out later :)

ZylaB · 16/04/2015 13:28

Good luck with immunisation wil

RPopz · 16/04/2015 14:05

Slingpages.co.uk will tell you where your nearest library is Wil

Some motherfucker sniped me on eBay. Bollockycunts.

TheBooMonster · 16/04/2015 15:48

Have been playing with the woven wrap that's here on holiday I loves loves loves it, it's 10 miles too long though so I'll definitely need to go down a size when I buy.

DH refused to let E sleep in the bed with us last night, so I stubbornly laid in bed for about 2 hours listening to him swear, get up, try and sooth her in the crib, think he'd succeed, come back again, rinse and repeat, before he fell asleep and I brought her into the bed anyway.

A man came to do something with the water today, don't have the foggiest what he actually did other than turn the water off whilst I was half way through a shower (shampoo in hair and all) because no one warned me of the imminent removal of the water >.>

That's so annoying Boo.

Thanks Popz. Sorry about your Ebay loss.

I've done a lot of walking today. My feet are shredded.

ZylaB · 16/04/2015 16:44

Grin at bollockycunts

Well, we did a tesco trip for about an hour or so with the connecta and I luffs it so far! Had to use the strap to make the bottom of it thinner so H's legs would bend at the knee, but it does show you how to do that for little babies in the instructions. Also like rolling the hood and using it as extra head support cos she went to sleep as usual so it stopped her head lolling backwards. The only bit I'm not sure of was that the straps crossed quite high up my back, but that may be to do with the way I fadtened it, or that I'm a shortarse with big boobs, not sure. It looked a bit weird to me, but that said it felt comfy wearing it, so maybe that's right?!

ZylaB · 16/04/2015 16:48

Having reread the instructions it does say to make sure the straps are in the middle of the shoulders and not too close to the neck to keep them crossed lower down the back, think this is what I did wrong. Will change it next time if I can :)

WilHarlot · 16/04/2015 17:50

I'm also a short arse with big boobs. Glad it was comfy.

ZylaB · 16/04/2015 18:37

If you have a dodgy back you should definately get someone who knows their stuff to help you fit one and try it out first wil

ZylaB · 16/04/2015 19:31

Am by myself tonight, bet H doesn't do a decent stretch of sleep! We're in bed feeding already!

Minion · 16/04/2015 20:45

So jealous you're in bed already!
That's luxury!

Had R weighed today. 6oz in a week. Hv said it was good gain as after a certain point they only do 3 a week so hopefully she's now playing catch up.
In other news, she's now giggling! What a sound!

ZylaB · 16/04/2015 21:16

Aww giggling! That's brilliant, as is the weight gain :). Go R!

The being in bed is purely cos I can't get her off my boob today...

Minion · 16/04/2015 22:06

Yeah we had 3 chuckles night before last then she was very withdrawn yesterday, not interested in playing etc, just wanted to sit on my lap and chill (great, got to nap with her and not feel I was making her miss out on doing stuff), then today has been very very vocal and chatty, virtually rolled from back to front with a tiny bit of help and giggled like a boss whilst we sang grand old duke of York on my knee.
She must have been processing some stuff yesterday.
Oh and she will now try and touch the baby in the mirror, before she sort of gave really coy smiles.
Still can't work out which mom is hers tho.

So wil, chances of it being cmi is virtually nil as HV said symptoms would have def shown up by now! but she's had hiccups after a feed and a little snotty in the morning so I'm jumping to conclusions.
Chances are she just has hiccups and a little cold.

Talking of jumping to the worst case scenario. I got her weighed last week after baby massage, it was a hot old day so she got some little red heat bumps. But I thought I'd point them out as they are quick to poin out any blemish etc, she asked me what I'd just been doing, I said baby massage, used coconut oil, as I do everyday on her.
She said just be careful it could be a nut allergy!!!
Ffs! Talk about scaring us.

Didn't have the heart to point out that a coconut isn't a nut tho.

This after, the same woman said R may have excema after seeing red blotches appear on her skin, when naked, after being hauled around the room and help against my pure woolen cape.. Of course she's blotchy. Just like me, only have to touch my skin a little red mark appears.

I come out of that place a quivering wreck sometimes.
