We've no time for JSing. We're battling green nappies, sleepless nights, x-box playing men and trying to hide our sling addictions. Fuck it, let's do a runner on a golf cart.

A lovely thread for all the JS Grad Grads to chat feeding, sleep and post-birth STUFF.

Roll call please ladies and perhaps add the number of slings and buggies you have acquired at the time of posting... wink

mini poor you, hope you recover soon! Is it worth getting your husband to have a quiet word, either that or tell him you need the nanny/doula, no arguments from him!

Nessalina · 13/06/2015 19:28

Just be really honest with him - if she doesn't pack it in then you will go inappropriately spare at her, and he doesn't want her upset or you upset does he??
The baby talking my MIL does would have me reaching for the gin by 2pm if she was here all the time Shock

minimooo · 14/06/2015 07:19

Thanks viroids. I think I just needed a bit of a moan yesterday. I will talk to dh again and see what we can sort out. I think dh does need to bring it up with mil again. I really don't want to fall out with mil (she's actually lovely in small doses ) so it does need sorting out before I lose my cool.

It's so grating isn't it ness? Drives me insane!

ZylaB · 14/06/2015 10:10

Start talking to her in the same voice....all day? "Does she want a cup of tea? Does she? A likkle dwinkums cup of tea?" Grin

minimooo · 14/06/2015 12:34

Haha zyla! Grin I may well start doing that!

ZylaB · 14/06/2015 17:33

Ok, week 2 of couch to 5k done! That said, I'm sure it's meant to feel easier than it did so I may repeat it another time or two before moving onto week 3, unless I'm randomly full of energy on wed when mum comes to look after H for me... seriously doubts it

JuniDD · 14/06/2015 17:35

Big hugs mini, you'll get there! I did a huge walk today which I couldn't have dreamed of a few months ago. It's so frustrating having to rely on other people and feeling so dependent but it makes it all the sweeter when you start getting back to yourself. If you can manage for part of the day is it worth asking her to do half days, or just over lunchtimes or something like that? Can you get friends round some days to give you a bit of a break? Or get DH to leave you a packed lunch etc when he goes so you don't have to do anything? Anyway, I've been there and it will get a lot easier soon. The most important thing is to rest and recover. Flowers

Also, babytalk? WTF?! Very glad no one around me does that!

I think I may have discovered a way to get these men to get moving. MrJ was lying in bed (standard) and I was going out to an event locally and as I was leaving I said "we need to think about doing more as a family as it's not really happening now". And lo! He rose up out of the bed and came too. And it was really nice. Then when we got home he changed TWO shitty nappies without complaint AND is still awake! Try it, and report back!

ness I hear you on the weaning. I joke about bfing her till she's 21 but some days I think it would be easier all round. I'm so over giving her food just for it to be chucked on the floor but i'm sure we'll get there at some point. Grin

ZylaB · 14/06/2015 17:57

I also got my hair cut yesterday! Was meant to do it in jan, but was in hospital, then been in post baby fog so this is the first cut since about nov! Had about 5 inches off!

teejayem · 14/06/2015 18:39

Helloooo! Just placemarking for tonight's boobathon :)

WilHarlot · 14/06/2015 19:03

Haha hi Tee, how's it going?

Good work Juni. MrWil looked after Mini all day so I can't complain at the moment.

Zyla I have been shit on the exercise front, although have found my trainers which is a start Grin .

Feel so much better after meeting a friend today. Was getting really down about stuff.

ZylaB · 14/06/2015 19:50

Hi tee!!

wil glad you're feeling a bit better about stuff Flowers

cookielove · 14/06/2015 20:34

Hi tee glad to see you, your boy is beautiful :)

juni mrcookie did the exact same thing today although he wasn't in bed! But we have spent the whole weekend together which was lovely!

Pisghetti · 14/06/2015 20:57

Zyla I'd go straight into week 3. It is meant to feel hard but that's how you get better. I need to find my trainers..... I have a treadmill therefore I have no excuse!

Aw mini that'd drive me nuts. If she's waking/upsetting the baby then she's absolutely not helping so having her there is not a solution to you feeling like you need more help.

My poor boobs are in the wars. As if having to massage my nipples with canesten athletes foot cream wasn't enough of an indignity I now seem to have a blocked gland on my areola. Poor baby having to face that Sad and they're bloody sore! Stupid mouldy boobs Angry

pis poor you! I think I had a blocked duct, had heard that angling baby so their chin is at the blocked bit can help unblock it, that and expressing in a hot shower. Good luck!

Also have a treadmill, I'd never do this outside. I've got so much weight to lose, but am still eating junk so just concentrating on getting fitter for now, in the hope it makes me feel better about me.

ZylaB · 14/06/2015 21:12

Hi tori welcome! I still have 2 hourly feeds or less during the day with H and she's 18 weeks today, she's a snacker!!

WilHarlot · 14/06/2015 22:00

Me too, another snacker here! Hi Tori, glad things are getting back to normality.

I had a lot of blocked ducts last time and massaging in the shower definitely helped. Hope your boobs are better soon Pis, that's horrible for you.

Pisghetti · 14/06/2015 22:48

Thanks ladies - it's not a milk duct as it isn't on the nipple itself. It's like a pimple (nice....) and had a long red line extending out across my chest which has reduced in length since piling on savlon. I'm still feeding her as everything I've read says to keep feeding but I'm worried it'll pop Shock ewww!

Hi Tori Smile

I find it's easier to get the eating sorted when I'm exercising - it's like I don't want to waste my hard work Grin the local sling meet group have set up a slingy walking group so hoping to join in with that!

WilHarlot · 15/06/2015 00:18

That sounds good. I went for a walk tonight. Should start doing that more often.

It's so cold tonight, can't believe it was 25 degrees a few days ago.

Pisghetti · 15/06/2015 05:11

It's warm and sticky down here. Slept topless to give the baps an airing. Hope I haven't made too much mess (it's dark but I can't feel anything...)

ZylaB · 15/06/2015 06:04

Yeah, not been enjoying bfing in the heat, although I'm sure it's better than bein hugely pg in the heat so I can't complain Grin

ZylaB · 15/06/2015 06:05

ZylaB · 15/06/2015 06:23

Ooh, I forgot to say! I'm sure H laughed yesterday for the first time, follow by me being an idiot in a failed attempt to try and get her to repeat it lol. Grin
