We've no time for JSing. We're battling green nappies, sleepless nights, x-box playing men and trying to hide our sling addictions. Fuck it, let's do a runner on a golf cart.

Hope they both feel better soon!

H seems to have the world arse about tit. She hates lying on her stomach and has no inclination to roll, but she's working on trying to sit up by herself! She can't do it by a long stretch but really tries to balance if I don't hold her up myself. Random child!

cookielove · 09/06/2015 20:48

will mucous nappies means she us swallowing her snot and spit and it is going straight through her, if she is off her food she probably is swallowing to much snot which is filling her little tum! :( fx it passes quickly!

juni what foods are you feeding?

min sorry to hear that! I was up at 4:30 with E for an hr and half :(

I can't leave E alone anymore he is in too everything and follows me every where unless he is absorbed in something much more interesting.

JuniDD · 10/06/2015 03:31

Wide awake crew signing in. Good night tonight though as she's done 10.30 - 3am.

WilHarlot · 10/06/2015 07:47

I'm getting 3 1/2 hours tops off this one. You'd think she was 6 weeks old.

WilHarlot · 10/06/2015 09:29

All those other messages didn't show up before - random. So weird Min. Up here, with the exception of the dieticians, everyone dismisses milk allergy. I have no clue what to think. She isn't having dairy except when I accidentally eat a biscuit but is getting hard to settle at night again. I wouldn't suspect milk issues at all if it wasn't for her sister. I think she is most definitely teething. If I can get her weighed, I can get the reflux meds put up in case that's part of it.

Worth going back to paediatrics Min or are they the same?

Cookie that's what the jumperoo was made for Wink !

zyla, how cute H is trying to sit. This one is doing a whole lot of nothing just the way I like it.

Minion · 10/06/2015 09:37

This one's off her milk again, super whingy, and being a chewing machine. She woke at 11 last night for her bottle, had half when she normally wolf's it down, then the same for the 3 and 7 ones.
God I wish she could tell me what's bothering her.
Sigh!

JuniDD · 10/06/2015 10:07

Well babyj is a snot monster today, maybe mini minion will be going the same way?

cookie I give her pear, apple, strawberries, cheese, rice cakes, yoghurt and baby cereal. Banana too. Need to try more veg. Feeling a bit more relaxed today as talked it over with NCT bods yesterday and we are getting there. How's Eli with food?

Minion · 10/06/2015 15:47

She was snotty last week so it may be the tail end?
I'm trying to get her out in the garden. No such luck, she hates the sun, even with a uv tent.
I.wish shed just fall asleep on her own.

WilHarlot · 10/06/2015 16:03

Min most babies I know don't fall asleep on their own. I certainly haven't had one which does. Sure MiniWil was about 1 before she'd go to bed without being fed.

I need to order some stuff soon for weaning. All my storage pots are strangely missing. MrWil is feigning ignorance but I know he chucked them in the recycling.

ZylaB · 10/06/2015 16:14

I need to work out what we're doing with regards to baby led weaning in a couple of months, I just thought I'd give her some toast or cereal, then bits of what I'm having and some yogurt or fruit etc, but everyone seems to be planning to purée or cook specially and I feel like I'd be being bad?

Started week 2 of couch to 5k, missed a run on sun as I hrt my back gardening and omg I'm knackered. Mum comes round on a wed to take H so I can so it. So it's a proper incentive to do it but it felt like hard work today! my excuse is that. We'd been for a long walk round new stead abbey this morning with people

JuniDD · 10/06/2015 16:51

Zyla that's exactly what I do. Try not to get stressed by everyone else. It's actually far worse now than it was in the beginning for doubting myself. Everyone's giving up bf and giving water and formula and schedules etc and I'm still going with the flow and planning to bf for as long as she wants.

I went for a huge walk today! Feeling really pleased with myself and back to normal physically. Off to the gp on Friday to see about some cbt though cos this birth trauma needs to leave the building.

Minion · 10/06/2015 17:23

Ahhh that's reassuring wil!
Well this one has fought an afternoon nap so we cracked it the paddling pool and now she fast asleep on the play gym. No fuss or anything.
Her dressing gown has ears.. Far too cute.

ZylaB · 10/06/2015 17:49

juni thanks for the reassurance. I've got a lot of people talking about formula at 6 months but want to bf until at least a year as she'll be getting most nutrients from milk and just tasting food. If I don't feed her for an hour before a meal, then offer her boob after a 'meal' would that work do you think?

I really hope the cut helps Flowers

min that sounds so cute!

ZylaB · 10/06/2015 17:49

*cbt, not cut..silly autocorrect!

JuniDD · 10/06/2015 21:58

Sounds great and what I try to do. Always seem to end up bfing then straight to food. Not good. A lot ends up on the floor or wasted but I am resolutely not being bothered by that.

We are currently sat up in my bed together like a couple! I'm on my iPad and she's playing with a toy...she's so ill but can't sleep so at least she's happy.

couldntbebothered · 10/06/2015 22:47

Hello I've not been keeping up with the thread, now 7 weeks in, time flies! Any ideas on getting baby to take a bottle? Will not need to do that often (once/twice a week) but she was not impressed by the idea first time (expressed milk). Mind you the older one was similar and then came round to the idea...

Pisghetti · 10/06/2015 23:27

I'm quite looking forward to weaning in a funny way. When I had DS medieval times preBLW, babies were given puréed everything from four months. It was a bit dull. I remember the nursery manager asking if I'd like them to try him with some solid food at lunchtimes, I said that was fine, packed a jar of mush just in case. When I came to pick him up I asked how it went. 'Oh yes really well - he had two bowls of soup, four bits of cheese on toast and two portions of cake and custard' Shock

I've got the itchiest nipples. I'm sure you're all dead pleased I shared that Wink

Zyla B has decided sitting up is the new lying down even though she's wobblier than a thunderbird puppet. In the car seat particularly she is pulling herself forward (and I'm panicking that she won't be protected properly in a crash because of it?) all the time. She's going to have a wee baby six pack soon.

JuniDD · 11/06/2015 01:05

Oh my baby is so poorly. asked MrJ's for help and he essentially just shrugged.

minimooo · 11/06/2015 05:45

Oh no juni, that's well crappy of mrJ Angry hope you managed to get some rest at least. How's babyJ this morning?

Sorry could, I'm not sure I can really help. E just took a bottle straight away, though she did guzzle it far too quickly at first and we had a few days of projectile vomit until she learnt not to guzzle too quickly. I would recommend Dr Brown's bottles though - I know loads of companies advertise this, but they genuinely are very similar to breastfeeding ime. The flow isn't too fast and E can vary her sucks like when she was bf (I mean she can drink at her own pace iykwim)

E did a 4 hour stretch between feeds yesterday! Some progress at last. Hoping she does a few more of those now.

Got a busy couple of days...my dad is visiting today (will be interesting as we are quite distant - only see him once a year or so generally).
And then we're registering E's name on Friday.

ZylaB · 11/06/2015 06:42

pis sitting up definately is the. New laying down! With regards to the car seat, can you tighten the straps any? And I love that weaning story! Grin H is just starting to look at what we're eating, but I wouldn't be surprised if she didn't want any at 6 months, as she's a month behind really. But we shall see!!

could sorry we were lucky with the bottles, but I've also heard good about Dr Browns ones.

mini 4 hours between feeds is amazing! When H isn't sleeping the most she'll do is a couple of hours, she's just a snacker!!

ZylaB · 11/06/2015 06:43

Oh juni I hope she gets better soon! I'll come and kick mrJ's arse for you if you like?

couldntbebothered · 11/06/2015 09:43

I think we will just keep offering and hope she comes round to the idea of the bottle. Worst case scenario she waits for me to get home before she feeds - I'd only be out for a few hours at most. And perhaps I'll try local BF group for advice if we struggle.

RPopz · 11/06/2015 11:16

Place marking!! (I know I keep saying this but I am coming back soon.... )

FurryScoob · 11/06/2015 12:42

Flowers juni Mrj sound like he needs a kick up the arse.

Hope the poorly, sleep refusing babies are feeling better

How are you all getting your babies to sit up? Miniscoobs nearly 7 months & still really wobbly sitting up, she can sort of crawl but has no interest in just sitting.Hmm guess she'll get the hang of it eventually.

ZylaB · 11/06/2015 15:46

furry she's not properly sitting, just shifting her weight to try and stay up, and usually failing, but trying!! It's only cos that's what she wants to do, she won't roll at all cos she just wants to sit and look.
