Someone fucking shoot me.
Seriously, kill me dead.
It's got to be better than no sleep.

TheBooMonster · 22/05/2015 06:00

Lol, I think he's grown desensitised to the gonads kick, I do it in my sleep... And sometimes if he's pissed me off enough when he tries to get some action whilst i'm pretending to be asleep.

Project potty trained toddler may have actually succeeded, we went to the supermarket in knickers yesterday completely by accident and our only accident all day was when she dropped the full potty down the stairs... Pull up's are such a fake economy, the basket full of flowery knickers by the potty was much better! However we are traveling half way across the country today, that's going to be fun...

Evie slept from 11pm until 5am this morning Shock who stole my boob fiend?! I Hadn't been wearing a bra though and my bedsheets are saturated Sad just as well I'm going away with the tiny folk this weekend, I don't want to deal with the milky bedsheets :p

Mastitisy sausage lump has shrunk overnight, it's way more tender but I haven't taken any painkillers yet this morning...

WilHarlot · 22/05/2015 06:55

A full potty down the stairs? That's grim. I agree about pull ups - we didn't use them.

Ah Min your mistake was getting used to sleep again. I saw something on tv yesterday about how only getting six hours sleep a night affects the way you look. I must look fucking hideous.

ZylaB · 22/05/2015 07:46

waves

Just a quicky oo-er! popz show me a pic of the connecta suck pads if you get them please? H gums all over ours and also licks it lol. Thankies!

Sorry for those having shitty nights :(

minimooo · 22/05/2015 08:56

Oh no, poor you min that doesn't sound fun at all Sad

Sorry to hear of the mastitis lump boo. Go get those painkillers! And good luck with the travels today.

Has anyone else's babies had a bad case of milia or baby acne? The health visitor came yesterday, took one look at her spotty little face and told me to go dtraight to the gp to get some cream for it. I have to admit, it does look sore and it seems to be spreading a bit more each day.
So, phoned gp but they can't see her till Tuesday! I'm not sure whether it can wait that long tbh. So, just wondering if anyone else has experience of it? Wondering if I can put calamine lotion on it or something?
Oh, I've just had a thought....can I take her to the pharmacy? Maybe they could take a look at it?

Minion · 22/05/2015 09:00

wil, 6 hours. Id give my foot for 6! It was fucking torture last night.

She came down with a cold yesterday (and she's given it to me now, hey I taught her to share) so Everytime she dropped off out fell the dummy and she awoke. We tried to go cold turkey seeing as though we were not sleeping anyhow.
She just can't drop off.
Then the bloke and I had a massive ding dong about how I think I know best what to do for her so that's shit too.

WilHarlot · 22/05/2015 09:11

You do know best. Tell him to shut up Wink . Sorry Min that's crap, hope she's better tonight. Saline nasal spray from the chemist might help?

Definitely go into pharmacy Mini. Is it definitely acne and not eczema? Just if it was the second, you wouldn't want to put anything drying like calamine lotion on. I find Oilatum isn't bad if I don't know what else to use.

Zyla I'd ask Popz on fb as she doesn't seem to come on here much anymore. I can screenshot you some tula suck pads - I presume they're similar?

Apparently it is a bank holiday here but MrWil just isn't off Hmm .

JuniDD · 22/05/2015 09:39

Quick reply to mini
baby j had awful milia and the midwife made us go to the GP (made the appt and everything). the Dr was like yeah it's fine although it does look bad. If you have any breastmilk that's good but you can just leave it.

Minion · 22/05/2015 10:20

I've told him this weekend she can do everything according to him. Which should work out fun seeing as though we're going to London on Sunday and he'll be at Wembley on Monday.
Let's see if he thinks that after this.
We'll both be sharing a room with her in the night so no sleep again I presume

theonewiththenoisychild · 22/05/2015 10:43

hi ladies. baby is now 8 weeks and settling better at night he had a feed at 12 and slept until 5 last night Smile brought him a cuski its a absoloute godsend. before cuski he wold only settle in my bed. now he settles in his cot Smile

cookielove · 22/05/2015 18:06

I've missed loads sorry!

cookielove · 22/05/2015 19:33

We have started sleep training last night was the first night he went all the way through without milk to settle, he was not happy lol! And I was up twice resettling but it is good progress and for the last two days he has been put to bed for his naps if we are in, without milk :)

minimooo · 22/05/2015 20:33

Sounds like great progress cookie!

And with you theone. Gives me hope that E might get to that stage in a few weeks. off to Google cuski ....

Ah sorry to hear of dh troubles min. Sounds a bit miserable Sad

Thanks wil and juni, that's really helpful. It's definitely milia. In fact, juni that's almost exactly what's happened with us (I spoke to Dr on the phone in the end and he just said milia is normal and will go away on its own). I've made an appointment for Tues anyway and will see whether we still need to take her. Dh put sudocrem on it earlier so we'll see how it goes. Might try the breastmilk idea too.

E went a whole 4 hours between feeds today! Naturally I couldn't sleep for worrying that it'd been too long and that she must be ill! What a wally Hmm

WilHarlot · 22/05/2015 21:13

Ah Mini we've all been there. I'd never bloody get her to go four hours these days though.

Good luck cookie.

I had a cuski for MiniWil but she never really took to it.

JuniDD · 22/05/2015 21:34

Aw mini, BabyJ was four hourly for the first two weeks (hospital schedule). One night in hospital she did five hours and I told a midwife on the ward who was like "go eat, then change her nappy and FEED HER". She seems to have survived! Glad all is ok with the milia. It's the hormone "burst" after birth so it will clear up by itself as they leave her system. Babyj's formed a hard crust on her forehead which I spent a lot of time picking off.

We went to a sing and sign taster today. As it's for babies over 6 months I thought we'd be bang on. WRONG! There were loads of other teeny tiny babies, clearly from two different NCT/antenatal groups so I was Billie no mates plus BabyJ was MASSIVE. Quite enjoyed having the biggest baby instead of the smallest!

minion I suspect MrM will last two hours then get fed up. Bloody men. Although to give MrJ his dues he's actually been quite helpful the last few days and has changed TWO shitty nappies this week!

RPopz · 23/05/2015 22:32

Zy I will send you some linkies via fb for suck pads Smile

Sorry viroids I am terminally shit at this! Hope you're all well xxxxx

ZylaB · 24/05/2015 02:43

Thank you! :)

WilHarlot · 24/05/2015 07:35

I'm struggling with the whole baby carrying thing. I can't get it so it fits right and doesn't hurt my back.

How did the weekend go under MrMin's rule?

JuniDD · 24/05/2015 19:22

wil are you putting the waistband quite high up? Does the tula have back straps that cross?

MrJ tried some food with the baby today...seemed to go much better than when I try!

She's rolling around everywhere now, for the purpose of getting hold of stuff and "chatting" loads...she seems to have got so much older in just the last week.

cookielove · 24/05/2015 20:32

Argh my baby is moving to much!

WilHarlot · 24/05/2015 22:13

Ah I feel sorry for you viroids with the moving babies. All becomes much harder work from that point!

Straps don't cross Juni. I have the waistband really low down due to being a short arse. Is that wrong? There is a back strap. If I put it low, it doesn't hurt but then the straps fall off my shoulders. If I put it higher, they stay on but it hurts my upper back. Plus micro doesn't like the infant insert thing. Sigh. At least you can resell them for the same price if I can't figure it out.

JuniDD · 24/05/2015 22:30

Try putting the waistband quite high up - on your "natural" waist. For you & I (shorties) it's pretty much just below the boobs. As the baby should have a "C" shaped spine it won't squish her up. I've not got any experience with the shoulder strap/back strap type carrier as I don't have the mobility in my shoulders to do them up. But try keeping the back strap high and tightening up the shoulder straps. Jig about as soon as she's in and go out for a brisk walk to calm her down in it. Tula probably have a youtube channel to help troubleshoot etc. I so want you to love slinging it!

Yep cookie I can't really leave her on her own now. I went out of the room the other day to find her wedged down by the bin trying to get into it. Minefield! At least she can sit now & go in her highchair while I do stuff in the kitchen.

Pisghetti · 25/05/2015 05:48

Eurgh horrible night sleep Confused and nothing to do with BabyPis who has just had her first feed since bedtime. Woke up thanks to MrPis coughing IN MY FACE (grim) and was wide awake feeling really nauseous for hours. Should have just got up and challenged my stomach to throw up or shut up.

Not got much planned for the bank holiday. MrPis is off mountain biking and I'm heading away to drop off my stepdad's birthday present and calling in on a facebook seller I bought a jumperoo off as there was a tube missing. She's way too small for it yet but it was a bargain at £15 so I nabbed it and now it'll go in the attic for a bit - glad I tried to put it together first to check it was all there..... We've decided last minute to head to the Midlands with MrPis next week as it is half term. If anyone has any suggestions for good things to do/see in Warwickshire with a baby and a teen in tow I'd be very grateful!

ZylaB · 25/05/2015 06:03

Morning! waves

That's it really hehe, hope you feel better pis, wil I dunno what to suggest about the sling except do what juni says ;)

H keeps spinning herself around in the bedside cot but she's definately growing dos she won't fit sideways properly! Going to get her weighed tomorrow, it'll have been 4 weeks so we'll see where she is up to!

WilHarlot · 25/05/2015 08:44

Good luck at the weigh in. Don't be overtaking Micro now Wink .

Bargain Pis! I should really get ours out and get rid of it if it's still in a good state before I'm tempted to use it. They're just so good for occupying baby.

Thanks Juni, I'll give that a go.
