We've no time for JSing. We're battling green nappies, sleepless nights, x-box playing men and trying to hide our sling addictions. Fuck it, let's do a runner on a golf cart.

Hi Furry waves.

Scared to say this but we haven't had a poo disaster yet. Know I have tempted fate now.

Well hopefully you have a better memory than me Pis as actually I used to just forget to change the bobble over Hmm .

ZylaB · 13/05/2015 15:24

The poo explosion was funny Grin

min H won't put herself to sleep during the day at all still....ever. I have to force it on her by walking her or bouncing her. And if I stop she will wake up...

wil I'm glad babyWil slept through, yay her! :)

mini I had a milk blister a couple of weeks ago, it was so sooooo sore. H burst kne but then I got a bigger one which I think was the cause of the pain. It was really bad Saturday morning and I wasn't waiting to see a doctor so I burst it myself with a sterile needle (I have them for my insulin pens) and it was a massive relief! They don't recommend doing it yourself though. I've been really careful with H's latch on that side since and it's been fine, I think I was maybe being a bit lazy with it and she fidgets more on that side so I think I just have to be a bit more vigilant. Loads better when it burst though, it just ached and ached before that.

pis mrZ didn't laugh as much as me either!

Ok, how do I get H to go longer between feeds? She's feeding all the time and it's killing me. We've just been out with the nct ladies and H had 4 feeds in 3 hours as well as 3 nappies. I love her to bits but I need her to start sorting it out a bit cos it's so high maintenance and I can't relax at all. She won't sleep either unless I'm moving her, so she cries for a wry nappy or a feed or because she wants me to move her. I love her to bits but how do I get her a bit more sorted?! I'm starting to think of stopping bfing, but I don't want to really, it took us so long to get it sorted I want to carry on...but she's glued to me!

WilHarlot · 13/05/2015 19:08

I don't really know zyla, both of mine have been a bit like that. I know what you mean, you can't relax because you feel she always needs you for something. My friend always fed by the clock. Think she just refused to feed until three hours had past and said baby got used to it. Don't think I could do that if it meant constant screaming though. Unless you made a massive effort to distract her for a week by going for walks etc inbetween feeds to try to make her go longer. It could just be it's a habit for her and she isn't actually hungry. What's happening with the reflux issue? Do you think she's sore? Have you tried white noise for the sleeping or one of those baby swings? Does she take both sides at a feed?

WilHarlot · 13/05/2015 19:11

Also I don't think bottle feeding would help with the wanting to be moved/held all the time. MiniWil had bottles sometimes and it made no difference to that.

minimooo · 13/05/2015 19:26

Thanks zyla, the.midwives came earlier and said to do nothing. That eventually it would clear up itself. It's not massively painful so I'll leave it for now. Thanks for the advice though, if it starts getting so I'll know to pop it Confused

Sorry to hear that H is being demanding. I can't really offer any advice coz I'm all new to this!

Yay microwil! Grin

RPopz · 13/05/2015 20:13

Viroids! I fell off! Shock Back later to catch up xxxx

cookielove · 13/05/2015 20:28

Hello, congratulations to all the new mummies :)

I think E must be the oldest baby on this thread as no one due before me posts any more!

He is no longer the youngest grandchild, exactly 9 months after he was born my db and sil had their baby (today) squee a new little boy :)

WilHarlot · 13/05/2015 20:32

Aw how lovely Cookie, what's he called?

Popz this is unacceptable. Sort yourself out would you Wink .

She's nearly rolling over. I'm hoping the lack of leg strength will slow down any ideas of crawling though.

ZylaB · 13/05/2015 20:37

Thanks wil I really don't think its the reflux, between the ranitidine, keeping her upright and her being a bit older she's loads less gurgly and I don't think they're cries of pain like they were when she needed medicating. I don't know...maybe she just needs to grow up a little bit. I just worry she's not getting enough from me but her weight gain is fine. I just can't continue like this. Posted on the feeding thread too to see if anyone has any miraculous cures, but I'm not holding my breath.

ZylaB · 13/05/2015 20:38

Sorry, missed half my answer... She will sleep if I bounce her or we're walking, but still wakes up wanting feeding if I go too long (more than an hour!). So she will sleep during the day if I'm actively making her. Night times are good once she goes down though.

JuniDD · 13/05/2015 20:59

drags carcass in
sleep has gone full fail mode here. She is still fucking awake and the two hourly screamfest will start at midnight. Wine. I need WINE...

cookielove · 13/05/2015 21:03

will he is called Hudson :)

WilHarlot · 13/05/2015 21:07

What's brought this on Juni? Not something she's eaten? I'm only just getting this rascal to bed now. About to attempt the transfer!

Is it better if you're out and about zyla? I find this one feeds constantly when we're in the house but can go ages if we're out and active. Almost like she's just eating for something to do! Is she any better after a bottle of expressed milk? Remember you can mix feed if you want too, doesn't have to be all or nothing.

WilHarlot · 13/05/2015 21:07

Aw that's really cute Cookie Smile

ZylaB · 13/05/2015 21:27

Nah, we were out today for 3 hours and she fed 4 times, it makes no difference where we are lol. I'm going to try and be really careful with our latch and reassess at the weekend. I hope it lets up a bit, think I'm skipping the sling meet tomorrow but really want to make it to first swimming lesson on Friday.

cookielove · 14/05/2015 13:04

zyla is it water babies? If so you can breastfed in the pool!

Pisghetti · 14/05/2015 14:15

Congratulations on being an Aunty Cookie!

Wil I tried the bobble trick. She slept through so I woke up with both boobs resembling boulders and a numb hand Confused

She's very clingy and sleepy today. She's been asleep most of the day but any time I move away from her she wakes up and cries until I sit down again. So I've done no more than have some lunch, wash up and empty the tumble drier (all with her crying in the background). I'm hoping she'll sit with her brother when he's home from school so I can clean my disgusting bathroom and make my bed Blush

WilHarlot · 14/05/2015 14:39

Hahahaha your bobbles are clearly too tight. Hang on, she slept through? Already? Envy My one has been much the same today. We went out thinking that would help matters. It did not and I had to get assistance in Tesco. Most embarrassing.

JuniDD · 14/05/2015 14:43

Joining the crying club Would have thought mine was far too old for it. Currently sat in the kitchen and she has been happy for half an hour with some pear. Phew

No idea what's causing the wakefulness, possibly teeth. Can't help feeling I've done something wrong somewhere and caused it...bad day today Sad Sad

JuniDD · 14/05/2015 15:00

oh wil would you be interested in a half buckle carrier? I've borrowed on from the library and thought of you. Will try to do a quick video for you...

ZylaB · 14/05/2015 18:08

Sorry for those of you with clingy, crying ones! Brew

I went to the feeding meeting thingy at the hospital and had a weep on them. It was at 2pm and they asked what feed I was on, I said I dunno..9 or 10ish? Theyve ruled out tongue tie which is good, and it was the expert who checks any babies they're concerned about and cuts them, she checked H's tongue and palette and said they were fine. We think H just snacks so are going to work on getting more milk into her at each feed, my latch wasn't perfect (hence the blisters!) so we worked on that which may help the amount she drinks, I've got to be mean and annoy her during feeds to keep her going and then take her off when she doesn't feed actively as she IS using me as a dummy. Hopefully this will make her get more per feed so she then goes longer between feeds.

They said because she's sleeping so well at night she may just be stocking up during the day, but suggested pumping so I can give her one bottle of expressed a day to give me a break. BUT, I need to pump in the early hours of the morning...4 hours after she goes to sleep at 10ish so I've plenty to pump, but also becaus boob design is stupid and that's when we have most of the hormone to stimulate supply, so doing this will hopefully make sure my supply is good too so her daytime feeds are really filling her up.

I have no idea if it'll work, but I like having a plan so fx it does!

Pisghetti · 15/05/2015 00:23

It sounds like a really thorough review Zy! Hope it helps.

Aw Juni it's not you, it's her. I still get the guilts that I might have caused my teen's grumps so your little one is certainly not too old for it!

BabyPis doesn't know what she wants tonight sigh she has finally dropped off after spending a couple of hours alternately seeking out boob, then deciding she's mad as hell at said boob Confused just completed the most awful, clunky, clumsy transfer and miraculously she didn't wake up so fingers crossed she's out for the count.

ZylaB · 15/05/2015 02:37

I think I pissed someone off in another life.. It's 2.30am, my baby is fast asleep and I'm up pumping! just call me daisy the cow Grin

WilHarlot · 15/05/2015 20:40

Oh zyla that is dedication. Hats off to you.

Hope we all have less crying tonight/tomorrow.

Phone battery dying so can't write much now but it's def not your fault juni and also I may have ordered a tula Blush .

JuniDD · 16/05/2015 06:48

The last two mights have been better thank you guys for cheering me up.

This morning I put her in bed with me only for her to do a down the leg enormoshit so guess who's syripping the bed now...early start to the day. The only way is up!
